Korean fried chicken with honey cheddar powder seasoning
    Vivian D.

This place has been on my bookmark list for so long and finally decided to drive 45 min. to Paso to try them out. It's a family run restaurant so the flavors were pretty good. I hope they can put out the list for the seasoning for the korean fried chicken so it will be easier for customer to choose from but the batter and chicken were crispy and juicy. Bibimbap was bomb also. But the soup, the flavor was good but I wish they could upgrade their seafood game a little bit. Shrimpies and octopus were the frozen type so very small size bite but will I come back? Yes! I def. will try their galbi next time since they're out of that today and try new flavor for the chicken next time. I think their fried chicken is a must try if you ever visit :)

We are in a bit of a pickle (and we're not talking about the nasty bland neighboring restaurant to this place). We have enjoyed their food on 3 separate occasions over 3 years. They have been good every time. But their price is WAY up there when they have actual 3 and 4 dollar symbol restaurants to compete with. The customer service is also painfully lackluster. They make you feel like being there is a pain in their side. On multiple occasions. If they even exhibited a tenth of the energy that is coming from the K-Pop artists performing behind them, maybe patrons would feel more welcome. The beef plate is always good. It comes with rice, steamed broccoli, japchae, and kimchi. The KFC appetizer is really good. We got ours as the local fave, soy garlic. But even a 5 out of 5 taste cannot make up for their shortcomings. Ordering one beef meal for $28 and Korean Fried Chicken appetizer for $20 really spells out that they would feed a single person for $48. I. Am. Floored! Overall, this averages a 3.2 out of 5.

I'm a fan! The food was pretty good and the variety for the ban Chan wish they used a thin line sharpie to make changes to the menu, the changes were hard to read. - short rib: standard, good marinade and not too sweet. It was on top of cabbage instead of onions. - fried chicken: wings and drumettes, the batter kind of reminds me of Popeyes. A bit on the greasy side. We got their sweet and spicy sauce med and there was no heat at all. I'd recommend the chicken sauced, unless you want the option of unsauced chicken too.

This place is awesome! We just did a pick up but it's the only Korean place in Paso. And it's legit. We ordered dumplings, bibimbap and kimchi soup with pork. We were surprised it came with banchan for our to go order. The dumplings were nice and crispy. It needed ponzu dipping sauce versus straight up soy sauce. The bibimbap was huge! It was delicious. My kimchi soup was excellent. Lots of flavors. A tad bit salty but make sure you eat with lots of white rice. Generous portions, was able to eat and had a lot of leftovers for dinner the next. Next time we would love to come and eat in the restaurant.

My family and I came here starving and the ambience was bright and inviting. The servers were courteous. The place wasn't overly crowded and so we expected a great experience. We ordered the bibimbap, Japchae, and grilled beef that all came with banchan. Traditional Korean food items so nothing fancy. The bibimbap veggies were crunchy but a bit too oily from the sesame oil. The grilled beef was good and the Japchae with pork was not bad either a bit more sauce for noodles would've been appreciated. We did however have to ask for water (which wasn't refilled) and got a small piece of hair in our rice bowl. I wouldn't however call this a KBBQ. As there wasn't a table grill in sight. Thanks for the experience Paso Robles Hana KBBQ

What a hidden Gem in Paso Robles! It was empty when we came in on Friday but I can confirm the food here is solid! We decided to order these items. Seafood Tofu Soup - Solid tofu soup was a large selection of random seafood. Flavors were good, and overall good. (4.5/5) Soy Garlic Chicken Wings - We got medium and it had a kick! Super crispy and flavors were great. Loved this! (5/5) Side Dishes - They definitely have the best side dishes I've had in a Korean spot. Total of 9 different dishes and also REFILLABLE! Enjoyed the potato and fish cakes. (5/5) Overall, it seem to be a small family owned business with two siblings running the shop at the time I was there. Place doesn't look like much but you'd be surprised at how good it actually is.

I am serious! This restaurant never disappoints! We went again today (Christmas Eve) they were busy but we received great service and the food was amazing once again! This time we tried their ddukbokki (mild for my daughter lol). The flavor was amazing and the rice cake was nice and soft. There are times I have gotten it at other restaurants and the rice cake is a little hard and not cooked all the way. Hana's seems to use fresh rice cake because it was so pillowy soft like you get it at the dduk jip (rice cake store). It was just amazing. We also got bulgogi this time and the flavor was spot on! My husband and I lived in Korea for 3 years and have had authentic Korean food and coming back to the states we have always gone searching for the "real" Korean flavors we had come accustomed to and this place really delivers! We also ordered the dduk mandoo kook (rice cake dumpling soup) and it was soooo good! It's a traditional New Year's Day soup that is enjoyed any time of the year and very popular among Koreans and theirs was probably the best I have ever tasted outside of Korea! No joke! The broth was exactly how I remember it. Wow! We also like how it's not a huge place... there are a few tables and it's just nice and cozy instead of crazy busy. We appreciate that when we are trying to enjoy a nice meal out with our family! Also, the chef came out this time and he was so friendly and kind! I love it that not only is the food amazing but the people are as well! I cannot say enough about how awesome this place is. I really hope people try this Korean restaurant! My husband and I have had Korean food in Korea and all over the US and man...this place is one of the BEST!

    Banchan- comes with order.

AMAZING. I got the soondubu mild and it was just right. The broth was flavorful, and the meal came with rice and banchan. Best spicy cucumber, kimchi, and banchan EVER. I don't know how something so simple was made to taste so good, but definitely worth it. I had the leftover banchan the next day, and it was even tastier! My only complaints are they're not open on Mondays and I don't live in the area. That's how much I enjoyed the meal. Will definitely come back.

My husband and I were visiting Hearst Castle and the hot springs, and we decided to see if there were any Korean restaurants nearby, just in case. To our surprise, there was one only 6 minutes away, so we decided to check it out. It was amazing that there was a Korean restaurant in such a remote location, and we didn't have high expectations for the food. We thought it would be Chinese-style Korean food, but we were so surprised! There were so many side dishes, and the food was incredibly delicious. It was just as good as the great restaurants in our neighborhood, which has a large Korean population. We will definitely come back if we're ever in the area again. This is a hidden gem!

We tried this place by chance earlier this week and it was so great we returned 3 days later! We had the Dak Bulgogi, Kimchi Bokkeumbap, potstickers and egg rolls. All delicious! Love that you can choose your spice level We ordered for home the second go. See photos. The servings are huge. A little pricey but worth every penny. I think we just found our new family favorite spot!

    The accompanying banchan....

Stopped here for dinner on the way home from San Diego... my son picked it after looking up options on Yelp. Pros- family owned and operated, the father and kids working here were all very nice and helpful. The dolsot bibimbap was cooked well; loved the crispy rice and the fact that it was loaded with veggies! Grilled chicken entree was also tasty and plentiful. The egg on top of the bibimbap was perfectly runny with rich yolk covering the entire dish once we cut into it! They had a good variety of banchan too...kimchi and more veggies (broccoli, bell peppers, etc.) Lastly on the pros, everything was reasonably priced. We ordered two entrees and an appetizer, our bill was less than $60. Definitely felt we had good value! We actually took home a lot of leftovers, so we'll get another meal or two to boot! Cons- the japchae didn't have a lot of color, which translated into not a lot of flavor. I've definitely had better. Lots of restaurants are usually pretty skimpy on the meat portion that comes in the bibimbap dish, but I felt the portion here was extra skimpy (note: they were generous on the grilled meat entree, we took home a lot of leftover chicken!) The location, if you're from out of town and heading back to the Bay Area like me, it's a little bit of a drive off the freeway and an even longer route to get back on 101 Northbound. If you're headed Southbound, getting back onto the freeway is a breeze! With that noted...if you live in the area or are in Paso Robles for a wine tasting vacation, and if you're craving a home cooked style Korean meal, I would suggest giving this spot a try. If you're really in the mood and don't mind the extra drive, you'll have a tasty meal followed by a short drive through a cute downtown area. Either way, can't go wrong!

Stone bibimbap , amazing, must get

Amazing authentic Korean foods on par with the best in LA Korea town. It's a mom and pop feel don't expect all the frill. The food is a different story. Each banchan dish was quality and you can taste the freshness. The bibibmap and soy garlic fried chicken were all done to perfection. The food is there, if they had a bit more décor, this place would be lit.

From Fresno traveling through Paso for work in SLO, stopped for lunch. Hot stone bibimbap w beef & mixed veggies incl medium yoke egg (I ask for runny yoke). A solid 5 stars. The stone bowl was 2/3 toppings and 1/3 rice, very nice ratio. Toppings were impressive (forgot to take pix), also plentiful of leftover. Nice rice crust at the bottom that wasn't soaked in oil like other places. Next day went back for lunch, had Galbi grilled short ribs (4 stars). Plentiful but the marinate was bit salty (but okay when eaten w bite full of rice). Tasty morsels and cooked to perfection. Multiple banchan sides, each has its own unique flavor, appreciate refills.

Maybe it is because we are watching "Yellowstone" on TV, but I was craving the flavor of the Old West, which can still be found in many places around SLO. We returned to Pig Iron Restaurant in Templeton, where we had dined about three years ago when they very first opened up! it was kind of bare and spacious our first time there. It was great to see how they have added to the space and now have room for multiple functions! There's a huge outdoor dining patio with a coffee pick up bar. There's a an indoor dining area where you order your food at a counter. There's also the Club Car Bar with its own separate room. I remembered that Pig Iron sando was good. My husband ordered the Pig Iron. I went for two smoked chicken, Cowboy Tacos, and our friend got a burger. We topped it all off with onion rings. It's the kind of place that you order at a counter in the Merchandise room, then take a buzzer to your table. We commandeered a large booth in the fairly small dining room. It has maybe eight or 10 tables. There is are a couple lounge chairs by the fireplace, which is very cozy on a cool day. By the time our food was ready, the dining room was full. That Pig Iron pulled pork sando is worth the trip! The meat is super tender, and the sauce is piquant and not too spicy. Topped with cole slaw, it is a perfect lunchtime meal. Burger was also nicely done kind of a smashed burger. The tacos were aptly named Cowboy Tacos, as I felt that they were gringo tacos. They were bland, since they didn't have sauce on them and the chicken was in tiny chunks and not shredded. The onion rings were crispy and fun to dunk in the Ranch dressing. We hunkered down cowboy style and enjoyed our meal, talking about about outer space and the moon trip while enjoying our food in the cozy ambience of an evocative historic setting!

I…read morecan't say for sure that they were involved in this situation, but the store was completely sold out of chicken. Maybe all that bird watching worked up an appetite for bird. We read reviews. We looked at the menu online, then we walked from our hotel to the restaurant, planning to order a tri tip sandwich and chicken nachos, which were advertised as having either fried chicken or pulled chicken options. When we arrived, we were informed that they were out of both pulled chicken and tri tip. Not to fear, I told the clerk that we would have he nachos with friend chicken. Alas, they don't sell fried chicken anymore. I asked her what proteins they DID have. Ribs and pork loin, deli sliced were the only options. I asked if the nachos could be made with pork. They could. We ordered that and ribs. First, the good: the homemade potato chips are excellent. The BBQ sauce isn't bad. Now that we are done with that, down to the reality of the situation. I should have known better. We had been staying in a hotel not a hundred yards away for two days and hadn't smelled any smoke or BBQ. When we got back to our hotel room, we opened the boxes. Plating was attractive. The chips are good. A small side note. There is a gas station near my parents' house (North Fork Minit Mart if you are ever interested in visiting the geographic center of California) that purchases pre-seasoned ribs from Costco and cooks them in a crock pot full of sauce. If you like the ribs at this place, you will LOVE those ones. There was no smoke, no smoke ring, no evidence of BBQ at all. The name of the place is "savory smoke"... but the food is neither savory nor smokey. Thr ribs were tough, flavorless and stringy. Even a little salt would have helped. The rub was strale and "muddy". I'm not one who wants ribs to actually fall off the bone, but these you couldn't even get off the bone. The chips were good. The "nachos" were the chips (which are good), covered in canned cheese, flavorless baked pork loin in this case and onions. The onions and the chips stole the show. The chips are good. Incidentally, there is a bar next door that seemed steadily busy. My recommendation is that "savory smoke" give up the facade that they are in any way a BBQ join, because they simply aren't, knock down the wall to let the bar expand, and simply make chips for the bar patrons. The meat was trash. Thr chips were good. This place should be ashamed of itself.

I truly like this pulled chicken sandwich! The Fried Raviolis are also good, nice app to add. Looking forward to trying their Tri-Tip sandwich, hopefully it's as good!
