    Tempura - lunch special
    Katie R.

Not gonna lie, my sushi expectations for Paso weren't high, but we had heard a few times that there was a good spot in town. On our most recent visit, when someone from the Bay Area recommended it to us, we decided it was worth the shot. I'm happy to report that Goshi proved me wrong, and I will be making this a regular meal stop on my Paso trips! We came at lunch time and got the tempura and sushi lunch special which came with 4 pieces of nigiri, shrimp and vegetable tempura, miso soup and two sides. For the sides we got the seaweed salad and rice. We also got a Yellowtail roll, Scallop dynamite roll, Tai nigiri, and Unagi nigiri, all for the two of us to share. We had been wine tasting so we went kinda big and ended up leaving pretty full. Everything was great, there wasn't anything we didn't like or wouldn't order again. The unagi was quite possibly even the best I've ever had, it just melted in your mouth - would for sure get this again next time but just for myself and not to share so that I could enjoy even more of it. We sat at the sushi counter and had great service from the chefs, they checked in with us a bunch to make sure we liked everything and to see if we wanted more. The restaurant is at the train depot, so parking is plentiful and you should plan to drive vs walking from the center of town.

    Fresh seaweed salad

Love it! Fresh seaweed salad (not dyed like commercial seaweed salads); chix wings; soft shelled crab hand roll; tuna and yellow tail cut rolls; plus cold sake- yum! They open at 5p for dinner; they close between lunch and dinner. (Odd that they unlock doors before 5p and let customer wait inside while still cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, and vacuuming floor. It wasn't hot outside, so no need to enter restaurant before they were ready. ) Good service, good quality food and presentation!

    Miso black cod with sashimi

The sashimi was fresh! I love their miso black cod dinner! Ordered to go for a family for 6. It's a family business, and they're very helpful! Ambiance is good, typical of any Japanese restaurants. Would really go again if I'm in the area

First time here while visiting the city and had some issues with the seating and waitor. First off - the sushi I got was the chris roll which was great! It was a bit much on the garlic chips and the sushi was kinda soggy from the yakidare on the bottom . We also got the special spicy albacore roll which had the perfect amount of garlic chips and perfect amount of sauce. With the seating, we got a call when our seat was ready but when we got in we still waited and they gave is the wrong seat. As we were about to leave, we stop by the restroom and overheard the girl waitor talking about how we ordered 2 rolls/soup and didnt tip. We personally dont not tip if we did not get a beyond service. Please teach your employees to be mindful as 1) we got seated incorrectly 2) Not everyone gives tip for the bare minimum... Felt judged and wont come back.

Spicy tuna and Jalapeño tempura roll special and Chris roll

Fantastic service and delicious sushi! Plenty of specialty roll options. We ordered a lot of rolls and I honestly enjoyed all of them. The soy garlic edamame was also so yummy. My favorite roll was probably the seared albacore and the Chris roll. They also give out veggies in a sesame peanut sauce that is to die for. Really easy to make our reservation ahead of time and we were seated as soon as we came in. Our server was very kind and attentive! She had great suggestions as well. Couldn't have been happier with our meal!

    Eel roll

Fine Japanese fare out in Paso Robles, which is an accomplishment in itself. A quiet restaurant, but popular, and consider making a reservation. I asked whether it'd be possible to sear some engawa, and the staff graciously accommodated even though it wasn't explicitly listed as seared (though they only had one piece, so they substituted the other with just halibut instead). The quality of the nigiri by themselves was quite good, and I'd recommend asking for the engawa if given the opportunity. The rolls themselves were fine, I thought the composition of the rolls relied heavily on vegetables but the quality and taste were still good. Eel is very consistent across the board, and the salmon was good enough.

We stopped here on our way back from SLO as a recommendation from a friend. This did not disappoint. The food was SOO yummy and fresh. Will stop here again any time we're in the area.

Wow, you must come here if you are ever in Paso and craving sushi. I haven't enjoyed sushi like this since we were in Japan! The service was so friendly and all of the staff were happy to help each other, which allowed for a quick and easy flow! The restaurant is very clean and welcoming with nice soft lighting. I truly cannot even explain how much I recommend coming here, and if you do definitely do not skip out on the yellowfin sashimi, it is by far the best I have ever had! My husband and I had the sashimi assortment and everything was extremely clean and fresh. 10/10 recommend

Nigiri included Tuna salmon, amberjack, yellowtail, and golden eye snapper. Overall (5/5): Came here on Friday for lunch and was seated after a short 15 minute wait - it was a lot busier than we expected! The parking lot was pretty small and full so we had to find metered parking nearby as the nearby parking structure was also closed. Service was good, though it was a bit hard to hear over the noise and music. The sushi felt super fresh and we loved the portion sizes - we were pretty impressed and we hope to return if we're ever in the area!

At this time, Nomo Domo offers six varieties of ramen (one is gluten-free). As their menu states, "FROM BONE TO BROTH EVERY BOWL IS A CULMINATION OF TIME PATIENCE, AND THE ART OF LAYERING FLAVORS". We started with three appetizers: Enoki Chips, Karaage Chicken and an order of their Ebi Shumai. The Enoki Chips are delicate enoki mushrooms fried until golden crisp and they had a rich umami. Nomo Domo's portion of Karaage Chicken is not large in the number of pieces, but the appetizer consisted of large, thick and juicy pieces of chicken. Even though they double-fry the pieces for a perfect crunchy treat, the chunks are not overcooked as so many eateries tend to do - crispy outside with a moist, tender inside. The Karaage is served with lemon and wasabi mayo. If plumb, well-filled dumplings are the comfort food you crave, the Ebi Shumai will fill that need. The serving size is four well-filled pieces. They are served with hot mustard and pinzu vinaigrette (on the side), and topped with a shrimp. Our middle course was the Hon Maguro Bluefin Tuna shashimi. It consisted of five pieces of seasonal Bluefin Tuna from Nagasaki, Japan, which is prized for its buttery texture and refined flavor. Of course we had to try their ramen on our first visit here, so we chose their Seared Pork Belly Tonkotsu ramen. The creamy pork bone broth was mild in flavor. The ramen was missing the listed Mayu Black Garlic Oil ingredient on the menu, however overall the ramen was excellent. Nomo Domo has fantastic menu selections - be sure to check for the most up-to-date online menu for current offerings and price point. The interior and patio seating area's atmosphere was upscale, clean and very delightful. The staff is wonderful and friendly. But one request: bring selections out in stages, not one directly after another, or all at the same time.

Roast Duck Breast Truffle Shoyu: The most important thing to me when ordering anything truffle is to know how long the taste of truffle lasts throughout the meal. The smell of truffle was there, and the taste lasted about a bite and a slurp of soup. Although disappointed, I can't say that I'm not surprised. The shoyu broth was pretty stock standard. It wasn't too powerful, and I think the noodle they used did its job by keeping hold of the broth, well. The duck was good as well. It would've been nice to get another slice or two of it, but the current portion size will have to do. Ambiance: I love it. It's definitely giving a vibe of a clean city that's not afraid to let customers feel the outside environment, while keeping the modern Japanese restaurant feel. Service: It's pretty good.
