Tried Thai BBQ & Combo for the first time tonight. I'd give it a 11/10. Greeted upon entry with sincerity.... Was patient and helpful with the menu.. their drinks were fairly priced (a pet peeve of mine). Sat inside- was clean and had an upbeat vibe. Took the recommended Pho and two BBQ Combos for our party of two. The pho was excellent. We shared it all and it was all cooked very very well.... The combos came with a salad (that included a delicious citrusy and tangy vinaigrette and potstickers (I've never had such fresh food as these potstickers) with the house sauce. Muah - perfection! Large portions- we brought a lot of food home. This place will certainly be a go-to for us. Side note: there are seats and tables though the majority seem to take the food to go. Most served ready to take your left overs with. You can tell this is a neighborhood favorite.... Sitting eating we watched a half dozen or more people walk in some greeted like they were known and others obviously repeat customers on a first name basis and chatting it up with the folks working. I think they have some of the best pumpkin curry in the county! It is my go to order. The drunken noodles are my second favorite but aren't as consistently amazing as the pumpkin curry. Staff is also very friendly. If you are in a rush, I would recommend calling in your order. read more

The food here was delicious! Had mixed veggies w/ chicken, drunken noodles w/shrimp and a papaya salad that also came with shrimp. They dont ask how spicy you want your food like some Thai places do, so I didn't sweat through my meal. Would definitely revisit. read more

I don't know how this place has a single bad review! The food here is sooo yummy & fresh, and the customer service is top notch. I just moved here from phoenix , and have been on the hunt for good Thai food. I tried 4 other Thai places before finding Thai BBQ & combo. I've eaten here 5 times in the last two weeks for lunch . Can't beat their lunch specials. It's a small , hole in the wall restaurant. It's very mom & pop. It's super clean and I haven't had a bad experience yet. My husband and I love this place. The best Thai place anywhere. My husband and I had the pad Thai and Tom Kha. This was the first time I was sort of disappointed. Both dishes lacked spices. My Tom Kha was kind of bland and too milky. It so lacked for more coconut milk and lemongrass. Which both make the dish good. Maybe they have a new cook. Please don't scrimp on the spices. I will still continue to come here. Hoping it's better next time. My husband said the pad Thai was also bland. read more

We ordered some lunch specials. It's a humble place. Everything tasted fine. Affordable, but you get what you pay for - ie, not much. It's a takeout-only place. There are tables and chairs, but you can only get food in takeout containers, with disposal cutlery. I understand why they do this to have an economically sustainable business, but it also feels like an environmentally unfriendly way to consume. read more

This has been my favorite Thai place in Paso for over 10 years. However, I had not been in the last couple years. When I walked in, new faces and new decor clued to some changes. There is also ""new" owners apparently, and was happy my favorite dish, the curry noodle soup with chicken, was still on the menu. It was almost the same, but better! My husband ordered the pad Thai, chow mein and bbq beef and all were excellent. We also had the best pot stickers I've ever had. Generous portions. Conveniently located on First Street right off 101, this unassuming Thai restaurant delivers good pho, soups, meats, and noodle dishes. The inside ambiance is simple and functional. I've gotten this place a few times and sometimes it's great and other times... not very fulfilling. I'm not sure if there's different cooks some days or a lack of taste testing. Everything is fresh, delicious, well prepared, tasted flavorful. Pot stickers were amazing. Food coma kicked in halfway thru, could not eat it all! Base on Yelp reviews, I thought this establishment is a nice seat down restaurant. The restaurant is quite small with 4 tables. Food were served in a carry out Styrofoam. The price were high for what you get . And I feel the food were too salty and did not have the authentic Thai flavors. read more

Review for Takeout only: We're in town for 3 days and chose this restaurant because of the location and Yelp reviews. WOW!! SO good! Hubs and I got Yellow Tofu Curry, Paso Plate (BBQ beef and drunken noodles) and Spring Rolls (had tofu & shrimp in them). The curry was amazing, not spicy but had a nip in the back of your throat after a few bites. Perfect! Hubs loved his beef and noodles too. Everything was nicely placed in to-go containers which stayed hot all the way to our hotel. Impressive. The associate at the counter was really nice, even gave us silverware, plates and napkins. I got a combo that included red curry chicken and chile basil chicken...they call it the Gateway mix. It included some tasty gyozas and a fresh salad with a nice lemony vinegerette dressing. We were staying in Paso Robles for a wedding and the day of the wedding, we were lazy and didn't want to leave the hotel. I installed DoorDash and Uber Eats to see what's available. Unfortunately my first choice was not possible but Thai BBQ & Combo popped up. We looked on Yelp and the place looked promising. Mink wanted Thai and I wanted pho. I was surprised they had pho so we placed our order. Since this was Asian food in Paso Robles, we had very low expectations. It took less than 30 minutes to receive our order. They even delivered it to our room. Mink ordered Chili Basil with Chicken and Sweet Sticky Rice w/Mango. I ordered the Pho with Beef. Mink's Chili Basil was really sweet and her Sweet Sticky Rice w/Mango tasted spoiled. It was sour and just didn't taste right. She only ate a couple bites of each order and tossed it. I don't blame her, it didn't taste right. My pho was mediocre but I needed soup from all the wine the night before so I ate enough to be content before tossing it too. I had originally searched up another Thai spot but then my friend drove us to this spot on accident. Lol.. So we basically stumbled upon this place after the fact. First off, this plaza barely has any foot traffic. Very limited parking. Hole in the wall vibes. The girl taking our order was welcoming and nice. Service was ok. We waited quite some time for the food to come out even though it wasn't busy. Perhaps not understaffed during this pandemic? My friend got us the chicken larb salad, fried tofu, and pad see ew w/ beef. I only had a bite of the chicken larb salad so I can't really say if I enjoyed it. He seemed to like it because he ate all of it or maybe he was just hungry?? We shared the fried tofu which was fried nicely and crispy. It did come with the spicy sweet and sour dipping sauce. The paring together was really good! I got the pad see ew with beef (mild). Apparently spicy level here is non existent. It was wayyy too sweet. It's like they used so much hoisin sauce. It was definitely not what I was expecting. I do appreciate how much beef we got on our order tho. The flat rice noodles coated the sauce well. Not the best but not the worst pad see ew I've ever had. They have a basic "traditional" thai dishes (noodles, rice, curry, and etc). Pricing here is not expensive.
