You didn't let us down dolly! 500 mile drive, round trip, but stopped to visit with family in morro bay and the croissants were delicious!!! FYI the sausage is a link not a patty, but still tasty!! Whilst I have protested donuts in reviews a plenty, Dolly's make me reconsider. On our 2nd attempt to try Dolly's we were successful. The first time was around 1pm on a Wednesday and they were out of the ham&cheese croissants we wanted and the donut shelves were looking meek. Good for them! I applaud a business that can run low on same day made baked goodies near closing time. They know their customers. This time we arrived at 8am and jumped in the line. 2 croissant sammies, 2 donuts, 2 milk and a coffee later and we were back in the car at 8:03! With 3 friendly, fast working sets of hands helping the crowd, the line went very quickly. No need for me to taste test a donut hole at Dolly's since they proudly display a "100% vegetable oil used" sign. NO NASTY SOY TASTE!!! The croissant was soft and slightly chewy, the cheese perfectly melted and the ham seemed to be Danola brand, not a thin Buddig variety. The donuts offered included the traditional, can't go wrong variety Hubs likes, but I was feeling a bit more adventurous and chose a pineapple upside down old fashioned. YUM! Seating inside looked clean and well maintained and, in addition to blended drinks and coffee, the refrigerator offered a nice array of beverages. Fairly priced and lots of parking. At the opposite end of the same strip mall where the amazing Flavor Factory is, I noticed this donut shop on our way to finding the other. Of course, me always being on the lookout for donut places for my hubby, I immediately looked this place up to find that it had a 4.5 star rating. Naturally, it became "necessary" to see what all the hype was about esp. since we were right there. Since cronuts are the only donutty item I'll eat, he bought 2 maple cronuts. While they were a bit smaller in size than the cronuts we've had in SoCal, these were tastier, flakier, and more fresh than any others we've had. Absolutely wonderful !! My husband was VERY upset he hadn't bought more, but honestly, we already had a plethora of sweets we purchased on our little road trip, so it was fine. I was grateful for what we had, and it was such a nice surprise that we had stumbled onto. read more

I am really not a super big donut fan, but I could seriously sit and eat a dozen maple bars from Dolly's!!! OMG!! So light and fresh with a little more maple frosting than the usual maple bar. My husband loves the apple fritters and cinnamon rolls. A must stop for us while in Morro Bay. read more

What a great choice my wife made! We spent the night Friday and figured most breakfast spots in town would be busy with tourists on Saturday. This shop had locals, a few tourists and moms buying donuts for kids baseball games. We knew we were on the right spot. The donuts were so fresh & good! Really?? 4 stars?? These are the worst donuts on the central coast. Taste of Coconut oil OR never changed oil is disgusting. Couple this with a day after stale. It's the only donut shop in Morro Bay. Sad. Gave this shop several attempts. All the same bad experience. Please Albertsons...please make more donuts. Never again getting donuts at this place. Shameful. read more

Coming from out of town (San Diego) for a few nights. My 4 year old was wanting donuts for breakfast this morning. Googled nearest place and Dolly's popped up. Gave it a shot and didn't disappoint. Donuts were fresh, flavorful and perfect. Also got a ham and cheese croissant, and a sausage eggs cheese one. Very delicious. They heated it up for for me, and bringing it back to the hotel 10 mins away it was still warm and very delicious. The lady and gentleman running it were super friendly and helpful. There was a line when I got there about 8 am, but it was moving really quickly. I highly recommend! Probably swing back by on my last day here and pick up some more donuts for the road read more

Once again, they feel like they're all locals. It was a short trip for us to pick up essentials. But it only took that short trip to fall in love with this place. We are in the area maybe once a week and we will absolutely be coming here every time we stay from here on out.

The Rock Shoyu Ramen had a good amount of noodles along with three good-sized pieces of pork belly (albeit a bit fatty), pickled fresno peppers & shallots, topped with green onion, an ajitama, umami-rich egg and a sheet of nori. The broth was complex with the duck fat and togarashi; it is noted the broth contains pork, chicken and dasmi. It was excellent. Their Beef Bulgogi Bowl was quite good. It consisted of four char grilled filet mignon skewers (2 pieces per skewer), kimchi, shredded carrots & daikon, pickled red onion, avocado slices, over herbed brown rice and topped with green onions, black sesame seeds, basil and a gochujang glaze. The portion was generous and quite filling. Service was friendly, and our selections were delivered in short order from the kitchen.

Now the ramens....complete passes on both. Noodle texture was probably the best thing for both ramens. Both broth was too sweet and it didn't pass for me as a tasty ramen of any sort. Edible...sure, but I wouldn't come back to eat this.

Probably bought at a flea market. We were crushed. I had a combo platter of one crispy carnitas taco at $23. Ground beef. Very basic and lacked flavor. Outrageous for over $20. Wife had two enchiladas a la carte, cheese and green at $13. Mush. At least we have our memories and hope that someone will come along to resurrect it into at least something close to what was.

Awards? They're running out of wall space.
