Cute doughnut shop with great flavor options and friendly staff. Blueberry fritter bites? Apple fritter? French toast doughnut? Old fashioned? Yes please!! These doughnuts taste fresh (not like old grease like most shops IYKYK) and are the perfect balance of fluffiness and heartiness. Highly recommend! read more

No Gluten free. I made a trip to Surfside Donuts specifically because they advertise Gluten Free donuts. They do not offer anything gluten-free. GLUTEN FREE CAKE DONUTS! Yes, gluten free donuts! And they're GOOD! I can't tell you how excited I was to get a chocolate covered cake and a sprinkle cake donut. The fact that it tasted remarkably close to original cake donuts was so wonderful. Obviously not exactly the same but close. The girl who helped me was definitely rad and seemed to truly enjoy working there. Definitely recommend! read more

Stopped by here early in the morning on our drive to Cambria for our caffeine fix, and heck, we're already in a doughnut shop so why not a sugar fix as well! Lol! The lady was very friendly and very helpful and could handle the crowd single handedly and was actually quick with her service. Very friendly, she chattered with us while we were having our great "fixes". They do have vegan and gluten free doughnuts and that's what I think got them the popularity. The doughnuts we ate were very good! The place was small and nondescript, and has this definitely beachy vibe! read more

some of the best donuts I've had. I got a classic maple bar, salted caramel, 2 boston oreo creams, lemon filled, and a s'mores donut. They all were not too sweet, not greasy, and very high quality... I would say these are better than the popular Saint Honoré donuts I've had in Vegas I personally don't like super heavy/sugary foods but these were perfectly balanced There is not much parking and no seating inside or outside. Service is usually fast and the line goes by quickly. They have rotating flavors everyday so check out their instagram for the new menu each day. read more

Came by around 9 am today (Sunday). There was one other group ahead of us. We ordered their Peanut Butter Oreo donuts, S'mores donut, and blueberry mini fritters. All of the donuts were great with the mini blueberry fritters being my favorite. How come most other donut shops can't make or choose not to make these kinds of unique donuts? The only issue for me is a psychological one. I know prices are going up but it is hard to pay $5 for a donut even if it is one of these special donuts. Easier to handle if it was called by another name like a pastry as weird as that sounds. read more

I am writing a review AFTER leaving California because, you don't know what you've got til it's gone. Or something like that. But I always did know Surfside was special. I don't like donuts all that much or eat them often but Carrie's donuts changed that for me after the first time trying them. I would pop in for a treat now and then or order boxes of them to take 45 min to Paso for our company all hands meetings. She even did custom company color themed ones for us one time. I now live in South Carolina and my little town doesn't have a donut shop, I'm missing Surfside so much. Keep up the amazing work Carrie and just know your donuts are changing lives out there read more

FABULOUS and delicious GLUTEN FREE donuts!!! True Celiacs know that we have to adjust our expectations and taste buds from gluten filled foods to gluten free. For example, a gluten free croissant can never taste like a gluten filled one, it's impossible. So gluten free donuts are more like a piece of cake but STILL a wonderful treat. Hence the name, "cake" donut. Surfside Donuts goes above & beyond to offer ALL of us a special treat and it's truly appreciated. Most donut places don't even try. And gluten free ingredients are ridiculously expensive, I've seen gf donuts for $7 each so Surfside prices are more than fair. Thank you Surfside!! 5 Stars all day long!! read more

Meh gluten free... expensive and nothing that great. I figured since I couldn't eat the cinnamon rolls down the street I'd try a gluten free donut. Got the chocolate and the sprinkle pink one. Hands down the best donut shop in the 5 cities. My favorite coffee drink is a dirty chai latte (chai w/ espresso) but truly all of their coffees are fantastic. They do not slack on making sure there is enough filling in the donuts, toppings or glaze. The chocolate bar, raspberry filled and dirt surf I would say are amongst the top 3 favorites in our family. Carie does a great job running her store and hiring a kind and attentive staff. I can't remember if it's always been there or if Carie added it on but I'm obsessed with the sprinkles painted on the pink walls! Oh, can't forget about the Raspberry fritter bites! As long as I live here this will be my go to place for a sweet treat! read more

Yummy yummy! Visiting Pismo Beach and had to try Surfside donuts. My sister in law LOVES donuts so I had to find a spot with great reviews. Great service and ambiance. Carrie is so pleasant and helpful. She recommended some great options. The best part is that she makes the lattes/ specialty coffees on the spot. Another great donut shop. We have been here before. I think my husband and our friends stopped in to pick up items to go. I was able to go with him this time. They had many different options then the other donut shops. I really liked the pumpkin donuts. Very clean shop and very friendly employees. Takes me awhile to see what I might want sometimes, then I just start ordering hard to stop at a donut shop. read more

Tried the dirt surf (?maybe not recalling the name right?) donut and it was delicious! Made with some white chocolate and coconut and something else sprinkled on top. Husband also loved it. Got the white chocolate mocha and it was good (a bit too sweet for me so had to add some regular coffee to dilute the sweetness)... would return in the future to try some of the other flavors of donuts read more

Edit: Thank you for the response. I was charged $4.00+ for a round cake with 8 Peanuts on it and a few lines of peanut butter. I purchased the donuts so I know how much they are. There is no argument.. they're Overpriced... and you're the first place I've Ever seen charge for donut holes, it's honestly pretty ridiculous you charge for them with how much a donut is. Donuts should be staggered in batches so they're fresh throughout the morning similar to how other stores do it. Maybe a stale donut is your thing... who knows.. Thanks again for your response and covering things I explained in my review. Take care and the community will keep you afloat because you're local regardless of how stale your donuts are. If you consider teenage girls talking to their coworker about personal stuff like tv shows as "busy staff" you're a poor manager I get you're sticking up for them but come back to reality. read more

Donuts. Was hoping for something elevated, but they were just donuts. They were priced like something elevated, but they weren't. Maybe it was just an off day for them, or me, but I wasn't overjoyed for certain. I came in looking for 2 dozen donuts to serve a house full of out-of-town guests. I started by getting there at opening on a Sunday and was the first customer. My first request was 6 glazed and chocolate bars, at which time the counter server informed me of a 4 item limit. "So 3 of each?" I asked, and she said "No, 4 total bars, so you can just get two and two." So after that minor disappointment I began to order limited quantities to make sure I didn't exceed the limits. Wasn't particularly overjoyed to watch her place donuts on top of other donuts haphazardly. All that care and effort to make the donuts look just so gone down the drain. Wish they tasted better, wish the service was kinder, wish they weren't quite so expensive. Maybe I'll try them another day, but for now they left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

We usually stay near the pier, and this place is less than a 30-second walk, which makes it perfect for a quick morning coffee run. Both times we've been here, the coffee has been excellent. On our first visit, we got iced coffees, and they were great. They offer a wide variety of milk options, creamers, and syrups, along with the usual sugars and sugar substitutes, so you can customize your drink pretty much however you want. They also have a full menu beyond coffee, including iced tea, lattes, chai, hot cocoa, and Americanos. For food, they offer pastries, Belgian waffles, avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast burritos. I haven't personally tried the food yet, but everything I've seen coming out looks really good. On this most recent visit, we tried their affogatos, and they did not disappoint. We both went with vanilla, and it was exactly what you'd expect. The espresso was made fresh, and the balance between the hot espresso and cold ice cream was perfect. Seating inside is limited to a few bar stools, but if you walk just outside and around the corner, there's a breezeway seating area with comfortable chairs and a nice coastal breeze. It's a great spot to sit and relax for a bit. Overall, this is a great coffee spot in Pismo Beach. Consistently good drinks, quick service, and a convenient location. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Whatever your taste, the waffles are light a fluffy inside, with the classic Belgian crisp form. The breakfast sandwiches come with an option of bacon or sausage, with a thick egg scramble and cheese on croissant, bagel or English muffin. The coffee and espresso are tasty, and they have hot cocoa for the kids. Friendly service, and nice outdoor covered dining make this spot a great choice for a cool breezy morning in Pismo. Next time I'm in town, we'll definitely come try more of the menu.

The poached egg was a little over poached (not runny at all), but still good. We order our hash browns extra crispy and they came out perfect. My wife had the Golden Flame Chicken Sandwich and is was good, but not spicy at all. She was hoping for more spicy, so she added Cholula hot sauce to the chicken. Still looking forward to trying other options on the menu. Next time. Cheers!

A trip to Pismo coming from Fresno…read more First off the hospitality and service is just wonderful here. Super nice people working here. It's a small little shop inside but they have a quiet patio seating out in the back that is shaded. Also they have their own homemade sourdough. I got the roast beast sandwich was great, super filling, fresh ingredients, and tasty. My husband got the saucy pig, it has pulled pork inside with a side of pasta salad. The pasta salad was good but just a tad on the salty side. My kids had the lil clicker, nice bun with turkey meat and mayo combo. The kids enjoyed it. They have a clean restroom for their customers. Food will be brought out to you. Wonderful place for a quick bite.
