WOW - what a treat !! We've been fans of Maria since she had a food cart on the corner of Baltimore & Light St across from Alex. Brown. She's made Cypriana of Roland Park a culinary extension of her Greek roots... fantastic "street food" that is anything but. Awesome gyros, salads and the tarragon taziki dressing is to die for!! (We always ask for extra on the side :) The decor is more like SF than Baltimore, which is uber cool... love the firewood space dividers! This was lunch, but we'll be grabbing a bunch of friends and coming back for lamb chops and that awesome grilled octopus for dinner. Thanks for the tour Maria... great job and best of luck. The chef gave me a rose and a chocolate covered strawberry for valentine's day. The owner came by and explained all the gluten free options on the menu to me, which were abundant! A great place for gluten allergy and vegetarian/vegan diets as well as the meat eaters! the service was amazing and it was a great date spot read more

I've been going to Cypriana for years, and the atmosphere and service is exeptional! One thing I love most about Cypriana is that though I've been going there for so long the food never let's me down, Chef Maria does an incredible job at preparing every meal. The service is great. The servers are trained to know every detail of the menu and are very personable which makes the experience all the better! I highly recommend, they won't let you down! read more

I was not impressed by the server very slow, dessert was average, the only good thing was the pita fresh and hot. Very expensive , but i enjoined the tasty chicken soup, nice bar, very strong french press coffe. read more

Really loved my meal! Best martini ever!!!Comfortable restaurant with delicious food. Grape leaves and feta dish were my most favorite! House wine was a delicious steal. Definitely coming back. read more

4.5 stars, but wanted to round up instead of down because they are just starting out and they deserve more traffic for their impeccable food! Their menu is tapas style - can be a bit expensive, but I would say worth it and there are definitely things on the menu that are very reasonable priced. Their chef's special hummus - though it was yummy and came with the most fluffy and incredibly yummy house made pita was $15! But funny thing is their lamb rib chops were also $15... and they were not only lip smackingly delicious, but they also came with such good tabouleh and fries on the side. And these fries were not regular old fries..they were special - crisp and well-seasoned. My friend got the mouhendra (sp?) which was also really yummy. Overall, would highly recommend to check it out! The ambience, service was all good - didn't add or take away to the experience. read more

Cypriana is one of my favorite restaurants in MD. True, authentic Greek food. There is much love put into their food. The servers are all polite and well trained. Service is always excellent and always consistent. Everything on the menu is delicious. Best baklava I have ever had. The owner is so personable and always visits every table to make sure all guests are being well taken care of. It's very obvious to me that his main objective is for everyone to have an enjoyable dining experience. Their prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. . read more

I just ordered carry out. Sat at the bar and had a martini while waiting. When my food came I asked for an extra salad dressing as my husband and I would be splitting a large Greek salad. He said yes but I will have to charge you an extra 3 dollars! I had already settled my bill, 60 something dollars and they are going to charge me 3 for an extra dressing- seriously??!! Crazy!! read more

We happened upon this restaurant because of vegan restaurant Week 2019. The menu they provided was the only one that had items on it that I couldn't make at home. They also still had their regular menu which made my meat eating husband very happy. The vegan menu had 15-20 small plates that were all you could eat for $35. My husband opted to partake in this once he saw many things he would like to try. Everything we ate was absolutely mouth-watering delicious. The food was fresh and the seasonings were a delight. The owner made his way around the restaurant and by the time we left we felt like family. We will totally be back and feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon this gem. read more

I've heard so many good things about this place, and finally decided to give it a try. Let me tell you it was worth every penny. We started out with a small hummus and a roasted feta, both recommended by or server. The hummus was excellent and the outa was fresh from their wood oven in the kitchen. The roasted feta was exactly as our server described it: "addictive." We loved it so much we ordered another one! For our main entrees, I got the lamb rib chops while my wife got the Bronzini. Both were excellent to say the least. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly and were succulent, while the Bronzini was also cooked perfectly, maintaining perfect flavor. We paired our meals with a few Greek wines which were also excellent, and their wine offerings were vast and unique. I also recommend trying a specialty cocktail. I got the bacon old fashioned while my wife got the tears of chios. Both were very good and not to strong or weak. We finished our meal with their pistachio sea salt baklava, and let me tell you, I can no longer have baklava from anywhere else because it simply won't hold up to what we had here. The service was excellent and our server (Ben) was attentive and very helpful. His recommendations were great and we were glad to have him guide us through the menu. The owners, Chef Maria and her husband Vassos were personable and came by our table to personally greet us and thank us for visiting for the first time. I cannot recommend this place enough. This up-and-coming restaurant is sure to be a staple in the Baltimore area within the next year! read more

LOVE! A new favorite. My mom and I came in twice in one weekend we liked it so much. The staff was so friendly. Exceptional service all around. We tried the classic hummus, spinach and cheese pies, and the Greek salad. My mom also loved the chicken soup. Overall, amazing. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Atmosphere is great and there is free parking across the street. Will be back!!!! read more

Last year my man took me here for my birthday and it was a memorable occasion indeed, made beautiful by the exceptional service and extraordinary meal we had. We started out at the bar and the bartender was extremely friendly and informative about the menu. We were led to our table after a relaxing drink. The server was extremely helpful, offering suggestions. We had the lamb and we had cheese. I had meant to post this review sooner, and cannot remember now everything we had to eat. However, I remember how we were treated and the owner even came over to make sure we were having a pleasant evening. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. My boyfriend and I were just saying to each other the other night we need to return to Cypriana. Enjoy! read more

Have eaten here multiple times. This was the best meal yet. The Lamb special was amazing, as were the small plates. The owner is wonderful and helpful. Free parking across the street.... Love it. read more

I have never actually written a restaurant review, but after returning for dinner last night at Cypriana, I just had to. I've eaten there several times and it's always fantastic. The food is delicious: perfectly grilled and seasoned fish, tender and delicious meat options, lots of amazing vegetarian dishes, and I always look forward to the freshly made, warm and puffy pita bread. On top of the incredible food, the owners make you feel like family. It's one of those few restaurants that is simultaneously a gourmet experience and a neighborhood, family hangout. It's also one of those restaurants where you can get a full and formal dinner or the best savory light-bites. I could honestly eat there every night. Just wonderful! read more

Cypriana is an locally owned, family operated restaurant that succeeds on every level. The food is out of this world delicious, and the atmosphere is exceptionally welcoming. We're happy every time we chose Cypriana, it really is terrific. read more

The Signature cocktails and tender octopus are reason enough to go to Cypriana. Amazing food, unique Greek wine, and great service The neighborhood feel is a bonus. This place. You walk in, it looks fine. Then, the bartenders, the waitstaff are so friendly. The food is AMAZING. Will DEFINITELY be back here again. Also, we walked almost a mile (.7), IN THE RAIN, to get here. I was not happy when I got here, but was definitely happy within 10 minutes of being at the bar, and then after another 10 minutes of getting food. It was amazing. Thank you- great experience. read more

This place was delicious & super friendly. We were looking for a gluten free option for dinner & if hit the mark. The GF pita was the best pita I've had in a long time (gluten is no). The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because they didn't have a single GF dessert. :( read more

Food was all very excellent, though portions were a bit small for the price. Given that the food is meant to be shared, our party of four found it very difficult to find room for our plates and drinks on our very small table. Our waitress also seemed frazzled and never knew the answers to questions like "can I get an Old Fashion" (said "I don't think we have that). Regardless of these small flaws, we loved the restaurants atmosphere, wide array of food selections to suit everyone's palates (almost everything is gluten free). Will be back! read more

If I could give Cypriana more than 5 stars I would, just to showcase my extreme satisfaction with my visit. In summary, if you're a carnivore, vegetarian, vegan, or gluten free you will have many, many delicious options when you dine here. However, Cypriana is not only a phenomenal restaurant for its food, but for the EXPERIENCE and ATMOSPHERE it provides as well. Chef Maria and her husband Vassos are a dynamic duo that highlight their talents by preparing delicious meals AND guiding a professional, efficient staff. Their repertoire ranges from hummus and grape leaves, to decadent lamb chops and no-filler crab cakes, all the way to octopus and shrimp. (The dessert list is extravagant as well!) If you have a taste for good, CLEAN food, with a homey, yet elegant vibe, then Cypriana is most definitely your place. read more

We ordered take out tonight and we're disappointed....portions were small, spanikopita barely had any spinach in it.....we ordered falafel and received a wrap and fries.....hummus good but not much.....octopus good but very $$$$,,,,,,no plans for any future orders... read more

Went here last night, our waitress was great but we left feeling cheated by the small but expensive portions. The appetizers were tasty - especially the falafels. The serving of saganaki struck me as a bit on the slight side, but that was just a taste of what came next. We paid $19 for the beef kebab and got about half the meat you pay $10 for from a street vendor. I've been to plenty of Greek/Mediterranean restaurants in Baltimore and they are always more generous with servings then this. The micro-kebab really killed the vibe for the rest of the night. I will not be coming back and will advise my department at Hopkins to go elsewhere for receptions/functions. read more

Excellent food and service. Loved everything. Mushroom soup was outstanding. We had some small plates and loved the cheese with sesame seeds, meat balls, and the Dorado (similar to Branzino) was great. Chef Maria is amazing. The noise level was too high for my taste, but the owner, who is very personable, said that it will be taken care of soon. I will certainly be back. Maria suggested that I try at the next visit, the meat stuffed grape leaves and the lamb shank.. the baklava was yummee. read more

Cypriana is THE go-to place for Greek/Mediterranean food in Baltimore. Everything on the menu is made from scratch and uses fresh ingredients. My wife and I always enjoy the sesame roasted feta as an appetizer. Last night I had the veal tomahawk chop which was to die for. My wife had the grilled bronzini, which was so fresh. Do not leave without getting dessert - the loukoumades were the best way to end our meal. read more

After we ate at Cypriana for the first time around a year ago we've been back almost every other month. The Cypriot food, (Greek with Turkish influence,) is absolutely delicious. Their octopus is extremely tender. Their baclava is like none I've ever tasted. It's not at all cloying and very buttery. Their sesame crusted feta is warm with a slightly sweet sauce. We often order 2 servings of them as our appetizers. They have a beautiful courtyard, weather permitting. And we've always had great service. The owner often stops by our table and sometimes the chef comes out. I can't recommend Cypriana enough. Oh, and they have free off-street parking. read more

We are visiting from New York City and were pleased to find this informal Greek-Cypriot restaurant a 6 minute walk from the Inn at the Colonnade next to Johns Hopkins. The hummus, salad and crab cakes were all first rate, as was the Greek wine. We will definitely go back here next time we are in Baltimore. This place was MUCH better than Petit Louis, which some colleagues took us to last night. read more
