Was searching for a coffee shop near LGB airport that was open early and stumbled upon this one! I came in around 6:30 AM so it was very quiet, calming, and relaxing inside. The place is quite spacious with a lot of seating. There are outlets all along the wall, which is perfect for students looking for a place to study. Only one person was working at the time, so they were taking orders and making drinks. Service was very quick and friendly. I ordered their seasonal Smashing Pumpkin (pumpkin, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon). I couldn't taste any pumpkin or cinnamon at all and it tasted like any other ordinary coffee/latte I could get, so I was a little disappointed. Was hoping for a fall-y drink, but it didn't taste like anything special. Despite this, I would come back to give other drinks a try. read more

I orginally ordered a drip coffee, and noticed after I got it, that they had a seasonal drink called the Smashing Pumpkin (pumpkin, cardomom, nutmeg, cinnamon) and was bummed. But the barista was so kind she offered to add it to my drink so that I could try it out. I loved the blend of flavors that reminded me of Halloween time. Definitely a smooth drink that I will try again. The second time I came here, I tried the hot Ube cookies and creme latte and I loved it, the ube with cookies and creme was a great hit. The staff was very friendly, and the barista even remembered my order from when I came here a month ago. That alone deserves high praise. The vibes are really chill and lowkey, with a quiet atmosphere thanks to everyone focused on their laptops. One big plus: it's in a parking lot, so parking was super easy and not something you have to stress over. As for the drinks, the coffee is average and priced about the same as most places (around $7 to $9). I tried the matcha, which was just okay--kind of mid--but you can customize it with syrups. I'd definitely recommend doing a double pump if you want to really taste the added flavor. Overall, a good place to study or chill, but come early if you want to snag a seat. I hate to give this place a low review! The staff is so friendly, and they made my coffee so quick. I got a 16oz iced latte with oat milk and banana cold foam. I love that this place is open late and I really wanted to like it because I work nights and it's so hard to find anything besides Starbucks at 6pm, but the cost and flavor is most likely going to keep me away. The first disappointment was the price - my drink was $10! I don't think I've ever paid $10 for an iced latte. The drink itself was $7 then oatmilk was $1 extra, and the cold foam was $2! I didn't really mind on the spot because I thought it was going to be delicious. Sadly, I couldn't taste any banana what so ever. The espresso and oat milk were good, very smooth and nice strong espresso, but zero banana taste. I even opened the lid and tried the foam solo and still couldn't taste banana. $10 is way way too much for a flavor I can't even taste. Besides all of that, the place is super cute and has a decent amount of seating. There are some pastries as well, looks like they're sourced in from somewhere else in LB, I saw a ham and cheese croissant and some sweet pastries. Looks like a regular latte starts at $6.50, but keep in mind any add-ons quickly increase the price--flavor is another $1, oat milk is another $1, and cold foam adds $1.50. At most other shops, a flavored oat latte typically runs around $7.50 for a regular size, but here it comes out to about $8.50. Their Strawberry Stand Matcha Latte is picture perfect. For my personal preference, it wasn't sweet enough, but that could just be me. I think it was good and I still recommend it because I'm pretty sure others will enjoy it. I was visiting Long Beach and I saw them on yelp. They are an amazing shop. They're so sweet and it's a family owned business. I had no clue what I was getting into but boy was I happy to be there. Daisy and I went and got a churro donut, a chocolate croissant and a Matcha lavender oat milk latte. The ambience of the store is so nice. They even have all kinds of coffee for sale and sparkling water and even merchandise further business and they also have milk bone treats for dogs and free Wi-Fi. It's very accessible for people with disabilities and they are dog friendly with service animals of course but I think they're also dog friendly with friendly dogs as well. They also have an all gender, restroom and nice chairs and a comfortable place to do your homework and study as well as good charging ports that are easily accessible. Overall, I would completely come back and I wish I lived around this area so I can come here more often. Please support this business if you're in the area. read more

So impressed with this place! I ordered a 12 oz caramel latte with vanilla cold foam. Their coffee is smooth and the foam was so good! I could even see little bits of vanilla in the foam, which most places' foam don't have. You can make the foam any flavor you want, but I just stuck with vanilla. I was a little bummed that I couldn't get strawberry cold foam (strawberry syrup is seasonal for them). They also have pumpkin lattes and syrup right now if you're looking for a fall drink! My second time here and I ordered an Iced Cold Brew/ Vanilla Latte $5.50 and a Kouign-amann for about the same price. The Latte was tasty and strong- not very sweet. If you want something creamier, sweeter- I would ask the barista to alter it. The Kouign-amann pastry was different for me, but very good! Think warm, butter croissant, with a layer of thick caramel on the bottom. The service was standard. The barista was kind and helpful; answering questions about my drink and pastry. Back when I was a student at CSULB, I always wished there was a solid coffee spot near campus. I spent a lot of time outside the library looking for somewhere to study, but it was slim pickings on this side of town. Long Beach has plenty of great coffee shops, but most of them close by 4 or 5pm--which isn't ideal when you're trying to get in some late study sessions. Fast forward to now--I recently finished grad school and was on the hunt for a good place to study for my board exam and grab a quality cup of coffee. That's when I found Cyclops. They're one of the only shops around that stay open until 9pm, which is already a huge win in my book. They've got all the good stuff: Americanos, lattes, matcha (my usuals), but their rotating specialty drinks keep things fun and fresh. Every now and then I'll try one out, and they never disappoint. But honestly, what keeps me coming back is the people. Steven (the owner) and Dulce always greet you with a smile, and they seriously know what they're doing--just wait until you try one of their drinks. My daughter and I were really craving a late evening caffeine fix. She wanted matcha and I wanted a tasty latte. We decided to hit up Cyclops and let me tell you, we were not disappointed. We arrived later in the evening so most of the pastries and savory goods were sold out. However, my vanilla latte with an extra shot was delicious!! My coffee lover nephew raved about this new find so I had to come in with him. We ordered a cappuccino, hot caramel latte, and a plain croissant (not pictured). Both were so good! In fact I didn't need to add my customary packet of raw sugar to my cappuccino bc it was so nice. The caramel latte was perfectly sweetened and both were beautifully presented (I'm a sucker for the heart latte art). The croissant (from Colossus) was expectantly delicious also. The barista (Steven) was super nice! He was patient with us during our skirmish over who would pay (iykyk), perfectly warmed up our croissant, and even brought our coffees to our table. Service here is impeccable in every way (IMO as I'm no longer a gum chewer). The minimalistic environment, not too loud coffee shop music, and outlets at every table makes it the perfect spot for remote workers, students, and anyone who just wants a place to chill. This is a brand new coffeehouse in East Long Beach. Located on Clark, just south of Atherton. Local resident, Stephen, has opened this great space. We stopped in for a morning coffee. Greeted warmly by the staff, we had fun getting to know a bit about them. The coffee was excellent and my latte perfect! My husband and I are so pleased to have this coffee shop within short walking distance of our neighborhood. As someone who loves supporting small businesses, I hope more places like this continue popping up in Long Beach. The space is very clean, modern, and well situated in a small strip mall with additional food options and boba shop. Seating is comfortable--my husband can attest as someone who works from home and often frequents this location so he can focus amongst the other students and work from home peeps--and the baristas are very warm and hospitable. The coffee is tasty and I like how their drinks are not too sweet. I especially appreciate their selection of pastries (yay Colossus Bakery!) and interesting assortment of refrigerated drinks and snacks. Props to the owner, Steven, who per my husband is often in the shop and clearly takes a vested interest in his customers. I met a client here for work. I needed something conveniently located, with easy parking. The center has a relatively large parking lot, but there are quite a few other businesses in the center that get busy too, regardless, it was easy to find a spot. The shopping center was remodeled a few years ago so it feels clean, safe and well maintained. Inside the coffee shop is what you'd typically find in any cute coffee shop in Long Beach: minimalist decor, cute but slightly uncomfortable seating, not-friendly-but-not-rude baristas. I ordered a hot, dirty chai and my guest ordered a hot vanilla latte. I also got a mocha latte to-go for my husband. I enjoyed my drink, it came VERY hot, less sweet as requested but lacked that chai flavor (maybe they use chai syrup so it's tied into the sweetness level, I don't know). Each drink was pretty expensive, in my opinion. I don't drink a lot of coffee so maybe I'm a bit out of touch but my husband's mocha came out to $8.25 after I subbed almond milk. It was a 16oz cup so maybe that's normal, just seems a bit much. Around the time I went (Christmas-ish), they had quite a few creative, seasonal drinks that looked good and I appreciate the variety it added; you get the classics and something new once in a while. They have some to-go drinks available and some merchandise as well. I ordered a half almond milk, half oat milk, large Matcha latte in a small cup so that it would have a bolder Matcha flavor. it was so freaking good! What a fantastic spot! They make their own syrups, and they have a menus that offers unique drinks you can't find elsewhere. Gingerbread matcha? Kombucha on tap? Yes please!!!! The design of this coffee shop allows for natural lighting to fill the room, making it an ideal spot to meet up with friends or study. One thing to note is that this place is pretty pricey. I wasn't that surprised that my iced vanilla latte with oat milk was around $8 but I wouldn't go here everyday. It's near CSULB, so the area is a little crowded with students studying and hanging out, especially when I went on Saturday around noon. The parking was easy and the service was quick and kind! Honestly I feel like the coffee is alright but when you add vanilla foam it is out of this world!!!!!! The vanilla syrup feels house made and makes it worth the price. Not a lot of parking and there's usually a few college students there at all times. Nice vibes and staff. read more
