Love the place. Hate the place Love that I bought my first helmet here awhile back. Did not love that I had to wait for someone to go pick it up from Sacramento because it was not in stock (although I appreciate them doing that) Love that I found a cool jacket that fitted exactly what I needed and cool boots that zip and Velcro since I know I would never leave them up proper otherwise. Love that I could get a lot of things here and spend a little bit of time shopping there. The manager (Shaun?) was so nice to me and literally spent hours my first time there helping me. The cons is what is in stock. My transition shield for my Shoei 1200? Had to order (but Sacramento has it). Helite turtle air bag? Have to order online. My d30 under armor pants and arms (had to order) Dainese airbag (to replace my turtle airbag that I could rarely remember to plug in) not their fault. Still waiting for that release All in all. So glad they are here. Staff is way cool especially the dude with the 10r flexing by the front door and the previously mentioned manager. I never feel rushed and they even helped me out with gear for the cold (again they did not have all the things I wanted in stock). I have had two experiences with this Cycle gear and both have been fantastic. Most recently I jumped on my bike to head off to work and found m front tire flat due to a leaky valve stem. I called around town and no one wanted to help, one shop even said that their service was booked out to 15 days! I just needed a valve stem replaced. I purchased a SHOEI GT Air from Cycle Gear last spring for my Harley V-Rod. We got caught in the rain and I ended up wiping the inside of my shield as the weather was so bad that the anti fog lens could not keep up, long story short the lens got scratched from my glove. I went into Cycle gear to purchase a new insert and they did not have one in stock and the girl said they would have one in a couple weeks. I went back about 5 weeks later (today) and they still did not have one. I explained to them that we were going on a ride in the morning and it was important that my lens did not fog and since I had purchased the helmet from them for over 600.00 dollars that I felt they should help me out. I suggested perhaps another store would have one in stock, they called and no one had one. I suggested that they could sell me one from one of the many Shoei GT-Air's they have in stock and order a new one for there helmet. Dude flat out refused to do that and told me he could order one and have it next week for me, and that it was my own stupidity for wiping mine. I have been a supporter of cycle gear for many years, I ride street, dirt and dual sport, and as of now I will no longer support cycle gear. I will either go to Mach One Motorsports in Vallejo, or order online from motorcyclesuperstore.com or babbits.com Cycle Gear seems to love you when your spending your hard earned money there but they sure don't care enough to help you with a 30 dollar part that could save your life... PS: If you want to know how to treat your customers contact Brian at the Sac store, he had no problem getting me a lens out of a helmet that he had in stock so that I could enjoy my 600 dollar helmet tomorrow morning. Well, happiness is short-lived. They've managed to screw that up. Went back to this store a few days after my prior review to drop about $500 on a new riding outfit. They don't stock what I wanted but offered to special order. After some confusion about catalogs and part numbers, and several calls to the boss (who was offsite) the salesperson took down all my information and said they will get back to me on Monday or Tuesday with pricing. He said that they need to get pricing from corporate and nobody is available on the weekends! Seriously?! The biggest day of the week for any motorcycle store is Saturdays. Well, guess what? They completely dropped the ball, never called back and it looks like they've lost some nice business. Before going to this store I called them and the guy told me to "come on down, we've got all the catalogs, and it will be easier and more accurate for you to place the other face-to-face than through the website" since these items are not on the website, but supposedly can be special ordered through the website. It turned out that entire trip and the time I was in the store was completely wasted. My salesperson was very polite (ex-military?), but he was struggling, as it became obvious he never handled a special order before. But there's absolutely no excuse for not getting back to me with pricing and to finalize the order. Normally this treatment would warrant zero stars, but they were so helpful when I was buying my Shoei helmet that I can't just lop them off at the knees. read more

He even helped install some of the accessories that came with it while answering general questions I had. After paying the employee even went as far as welcoming to the world of motorcycles. Bought a helmet boots and gloves, even though I found the same products online for less I figured I would try and keep some of the money local. I was urged to become a member to get a small discount, I agreed and paid the $60 dollars. I was charged $149 for the boots, but when I got home I noticed i must have gotten the "special price" as the price on the box showed boots were actually $129. My first purchase from the store and I had been swindled and pimped. I took it all back as I don't want to worry about getting burned every time I buy something there. When I went to return everything the guy tried to explain it by saying they go by the SKU and not the price posted on the box. I explained that I can't read SKU codes with my eyes and wanted a refund and had I no intention of coming back. I wasn't refunded the $60 membership fee. So they got me there too. Do yourself a favor and buy online, Amazon, wherever but not here, unless you can read sku codes with your eyes and like going over your receipt line by line. I guess I'm glad it happened the first time I tried to buy something there, I found out early on what a rip off the place is. read more

I was on my third Bilt Bluetooth helmet which is the cycle gear brand. The last one I turned in for the speakers blowing out was in August of 2016. So when riding season started and I started having the same issue I went in to cycle gear in Fairfield since I am in Vallejo now. I handed the gentleman my receipt from the last transaction at the rancho Cordova location. I was then informed that my helmet was obsolete due to quality issues with their vendor. There was a new revision out with a new Bluetooth vendor that was a little more expensive but they gave me the new helmet no questions asked. I'm much happier with the look of the new helmet and the fit. I'm hoping that the quality issues have in fact been fixed but that can only be decided with riding, which I do daily now. I will continue to give cycle gear my business as they have done everything right by me during this issue. I wish I had thought of getting the guys names there but every single one of them were customer service oriented and very helpful and friendly. My wife needs some riding gear so we will be back soon. I've been a very loyal customer to cycle gear from buying all of my wife and my equipment from 3 helmets, jackets, gloves, boots, etc... I've been using this store for almost 3 years. with that's said. Getting to why I'm writing a one star review, it's has to do with my first tire change on my 2016 Yamaha FZ-09 with bright neon wheels. I remember the day very clearly it's because it was of course Super Bowl day!! I asked the individual I spoke with on the phone if they had time to do a tire change that day. The response being that they were too busy and that they would not be able to do the change. So I said I would come by with the tires and that they can get to it at their earliest convince. When I got to cycle gear some of the staff was cooking steaks outside and they were watching the game. I must point out that the store had no customers besides me. So I asked again A little more forward this time. "there's no way you guys are too busy to do one tire change when it's this dead". With attitude they finally agreed to do my tire change but the individual I spoke with said it would take up to four hours because that same individual was about to be his lunch break. With no complaints I left and returned Four hours later to pick up my tires unfortunately not thinking to inspect them until I got home. During my install I noticed on the very inner rim that there was some decent scrapes on the paint on both front and rear rims. I tried very hard to justify the marks of being on the road via rocks possible gravel but the way the marks looked it was very clear miss handling, miss use of tools, and a careless attitude of and individual that did not want to do it in the first place. I returned to cycle gear the next week when I had a chance to show the manager my rim's, and I told him the whole experience of that day. He agreed to contact corporate office and see if they could have my rims replaced. He said it would take a week and that he would call me. So I came back a week later and he had some paperwork drawn up and said they would contact me next Wednesday with more information. Not thinking much of it I needed to replace my helmet so I found myself in a pretty shady situation the next week I went in to buy a brand-new helmet a shoei helmet they offered to give me a 20% discount off of the helmet if I "forget" about the damage they've done to my rims. Which I'm pretty sure they are supposed to standby Company policy of not giving discounts on Shoei's helmets. It's been a couple weeks since then they have not contacted me yet so I called them today to see where the process was at. And they said it was going to take an additional week. All I want is for the company to standby and admit their mistake and correct it. It should not be that hard. In my opinion I really don't think at this point they're going to replace my rims I think they're stalling and they want time to pass and for me to forget. Unless they correct their mistake this is the last time I shop at cycle gear or recommend it to anyone! read more

Will someone in Management please buy these guys the proper tool to remove wheel weights. I purchased a really nice set of tires here a few days ago. The guys were quick to help and the installation was quick. But when you utilize a flathead screwdriver to remove the old wheel weight and leave a huge scratch that literally leaves a gouge halfway across the wheel. All of that goes out of the window. I did not realize this until I returned home to install the wheel. All I can say is WOW. Hopefully, the guy that did this gets to read it because you know what you did. I did not bother to call to complain because you were not man enough to own up to it. This is why brick and mortar stores will unfortunately soon be a thing of the past. read more

Walked in and was immediately greeted\offered help by a young lady with green hair.
