The worst. Bad service, indifferent staff. Wish I could give "0" stars. I have been a customer of this CVS since I moved to California and this place was a Sav-On, in 1987. It has always been pretty bad, but lately it has gotten worse. The pharmacy is understaffed and what staff they have do not prioritize prescriptions. Twice in the last 6 months, I dropped off a prescription was told it would be ready in 30 minutes and came back an hour later only to find it wasn't ready. Another 20 minutes (as they filled several prescriptions in the meantime) before I got the prescription. I do most of my prescriptions by mail, but for the ones I need to fill locally, I think I will probably start going to Ralphs or Walgreens. read more

This first half was written about two months ago. I decided to give them another try until today. 1/15/16 I use this CVS because it is 24 hours and about two minutes from my home. The pharmacists have always been friendly, although the line is slow and long majority of the time. I pick up medicine for my boyfriend and have been since August, full legal/medical POA documents have been presented in the past. Everyone has been so incredibly nice except for Sharon. I get a call from a technician asking to speak with my boyfriend. As usual, I tell them it's me, and carry on. This one tried to rush me off the phone by coldly saying "I can't speak to you, he needs to call me". My boyfriend suffered a massive stroke last May and has limited language and motor skills. I informed this woman (while she kept cutting me off) that he could not speak, and I should be on file since I already have all my documents in order and have picked up the prescriptions almost every two weeks. I went in and made the biggest yelling fuss because while I was in line, she was on the phone being just as rude to other customers. Here's the thing, if she wasn't such a rude see you next Tuesday, I would have reacted differently. This industry is to serve and help sick people, and just because the elderly can't be aggressive and speak for themselves, doesn't mean everyone will sit and take it. I've never been treated like this at any pharmacy ever, maybe it's an LA thing? 3/17/16 today I called to try and confirm if the pharmacist had followed up with our Doctor regarding prescription approval. I had submitted some medicine (one for kidney failure and muscle relaxer) 5 DAYS AGO. As a stroke patient, my boyfriend suffers extreme spasticity if he does not have the drug baclofen. The Calcium Acetate is for his failing kidneys, those two are probably the most important ones he needs daily. I speak to Sharron (ugh) after waiting over an hour on hold. She first keeps telling me that calcium is over the counter after I told her 3 times CALCIUM ACETATE and the she understood. Great listening skills girl. You have the computer right in front of you, how is it so hard to connect the dots? She then tells me she'll fax over the request. WHAT THE FUCK. This should have been done SUNDAY. I asked her why it hasn't even been done AFTER I WAS TOLD IT WAS. She said she didn't know and it was the first time talking to me. Fair enough, I avoid her like I avoid STDs, it really was the first time speaking with her about this particular situation. This pharmacy has dropped the ball yet again, this time in an extremely irresponsible manner. Currently, I am waiting for the doctor's office receptionist to get back from lunch so I can transfer all medications to Walgreens. The Sharon thing two months ago was beyond unacceptable, yet I gave them a try like an idiot. This time, not even doing the job of contacting the doctor for almost a week is straight bullshit. Everyone accept that one pharmacist is very nice. It's a shame I need to transfer these, because there were 4 or 5 of them I really enjoyed chatting with. I think this pharmacy could be great if they were more organized or better staffed. Long lines and phone times paired with some rude people is a headache I won't miss. Overall, avoid this pharmacy, the Yelp reviews are accurate. Walgreens across from the galleria has always been pleasant. read more

The pharmacy at this place is NUTS. Get ready to wait in line FOREVER -- and then to be told they've run out of "that kind of medication." It's miserable. The CVS in Lawndale is much better and has nicer staff, but it was farther out for me so I ended up switching to the Target Pharmacy by the Galleria Mall. Not only is Target alot closer to me, but the Pharmacy staff is phenomenal; very knowledgeable, fast, efficient and extremely coureous. (Ah-h... one of the best decision I ever made!) read more

Dropping them down to a one. Wish I could give them a zero after the service we received tonight. We were number three in a line of seven people waiting. One of the female pharmacists asked another female pharmacist to assist with the line. The second girl insisted that she had calls to make and, "there's always going to be a line" so she should get used to it. She continued to rant about how this is the only location that doesn't "do its calls" and she wasn't going to ring anyone up until all the calls were made. She ranted and raved about how it wasn't her problem that people were in line and that she was being asked to do too many tasks as it is. She then proceeded to make an outgoing call to inquire about whether someone liked their nose spray and if they wanted a refill. Mind you, it was 7PM, so it's hardly the time to be calling someone at home. The poor pharmacist had to beg the other employees to please help with the line. Jason helped us and was friendly, but then he gave me $2 in change because his register didn't have money and he insisted that the management wouldn't come back and give them change. And let's not forget the time a pharmacist asked my mom if she knew how to read! We were picking up my nana's three prescriptions, all called in by the same doctor. There was a problem with one, so CVS (who claims they don't call doctors for you) called a doctor my nana hadn't seen in years. This doctor was not listed anywhere on the prescription, so it's unclear where they got the idea to call him. When my mom pointed out that they were calling the wrong doctor, the pharmacist asked my mom if she knew how to read. Seriously? All attempts at contact their HQ to complain have gone unanswered. read more

Pharmacy wait times are ridiculous. The last few times I went, there are at least 6-8 people in Pick Up line. I was told my Rx was ready, so I go in, well its done but needs to be verified by the pharmacist. 40 minutes later, I got it. I'm not the only one having this experience, lots of frustrated people in line with you telling the same story. Does CVS corporate not know how to use Yelp? I went to Target in MB, took 3 mins to drop off and 1 min to pickup. Done, found my new pharmacy. read more

Every time I go there she is always friendly, helpful with coupons and a great personality that always make my shopping experience a good one. We made the mistake of having a prescription called in here again and I should have read my own previous review. After we waited in line for 10 minutes, we found out they didn't fill the prescription yet even thought it was called in by the doctor yesterday. Then we had to go wait for 15 minutes in another line to get them to fill the prescription. Now we have been waiting minutes for them to fill it. If we weren't on our way out of town, we would walk out. Never again. read more

This is by far the worst CVS in the area. I went in on the 29th around 11am, looking to buy a few snacks and household items. There were one or two customers finishing up at the counter and I was the only one still looking in the aisles. The store is clean but if you want to find something or have a question for a product, don't bother asking any clerk because they will give a very cursory reply. I tried to catch two employees who were on their way to the room in the back, one of them I believe is the manager (an Asian lady), they were both in a hurry. No time to help the customer, but I heard them talking and joking in there, in the back room afterwards. A few years ago, my husband had terrible experience. The pharmacy gave the prescription to the wrong person and then accuse my husband for picking it up already. How can you fake something like that? Isn't there a camera? Or someway to check? It got very nasty, so he wrote a letter to the corporate and vowed never using this CVS. It was very suspicious also, I mean who could have picked a prescription (hard to get pain reliever) without knowing it was there? And then we would get calls from some companies to sell us those pain killer, did CVS give our phone number out? One wonders... read more

Worst pharmacy. There is no order or method to anything here. They always say they will call my name. Never happens. I just end up getting back in line and it's ready, again without them calling my name. And when they do call your name (saw it once since I've been going to this pharmacy) they make you go to the back of the line and wait even longer. Never going back here again. So many times they've had only one of my prescriptions filled. Clearly not double checking their work. Today I waited over an hour for my prescription. Just ridiculous. read more

I recently switched jobs and therefore have new insurance. Wife called in for a refill... I go pick it up... lady that was ringing me up said "$35" and I asked "is the insurance information updated" her answer was "meds now costs thousands of dollars" and I said "what? I wanna know if the insurance information is updated bec I have a new one" and she said "how would I know if it's updated or not" I said "check what insurance is it on" and I was presenting the new insurance card. And it was on the paper stapled to the bag and it was updated... That's all I was asking about, im wasn't complaining about the $35. I know how much it costs... and by the way it's not "thousands of dollars" The right response would've been "ok let's check, do you have the insurance card or information?" Not "well meds now cost thousands of dollars" What a disappointment you are.. oh and her name was Uanita. I'll still come here as being 24 hr pharmacy is convenient for me... My family and I used to go to this pharmacy all the time. Their service was so slow so we were finally able to switch to target pharmacy. But due to circumstances, we had to switch back. Unfortunately, their service is so slow. We wait in line for a good 45 minutes to an hour to get a prescription filled. They only have one pharmacist working and one cashier, which means that the service moves at a snail's rate. Their text service is supposed to relieve waiting in the store but they text and the prescription isn't even filled. It's frustrating. I would advise others to go to another pharmacy if they have a choice. read more

After standing in line at pick up for 10 minutes to get my prescription early so I can go on vacation, I'm told I have to go to consultation to ask for that. I go to consultation. The woman there tells me I have to request that through drop off. So then I spend another 10 minutes in that line despite the fact I've always done this in the past at the drop off counter. No one seems to know what they are doing here or where to send you. The fact I have to come in here anyway instead of being able to call and then go in to pick up is equally hard to understand. I come to this CVS for.. everything! I love walking around and shopping here. They have a lot much more of a selection here compared to some of the other locations ive been to. The staff here is pretty friendly and if you have a card it can get you some good deals. The pharmacy however, needs some work. The line gets very long sometimes and it takes quite awhile to get to the front. I feel like they need to be more organized so that things can run smoothly and people can come in and out. Besides the wait ive never personally had any other issues but I have seen a lot of frustrated people in front of me. My husband and I had outstanding customer service in the pharmacy. My husband just had two major back surgeries and needed to fill a prescription of Dilaudid. It was New Year's Eve and we had already went to 3 cvs's prior to this one and they were out of this medication and refused to call around to see which pharmacy had some in stock. With hopeful hearts we came to this CVS and they too were out of stock but the employee Porscha offered to call around for us! She was a sweetheart and could see we were in need a help! She called around to 3 cvs's for us and found one that had some in stock! She seriously saved us from so much heartache. It was the gesture of a small town store with personable customer service. It is great that this pharmacy is open 24 hours, but I have never picked up a prescription without some kind of problem. Insurance issues, they can not find it, anything to create a delay. Clearly they are very busy, understaffed, and employees who are not customer focused. I would recommend choosing another pharmacy, especially if you are in a hurry. Pray that you will never actually have to speak with anyone in the pharmacy by phone. I have waited on hold for 30 minutes and hung up, and when you do get an answer, the automated voice will be the most pleasant voice you will hear. One time I asked why it took so long to answer the phone, I then got a lecture on how short staffed they were and was told to call back later. It is now time to change to another pharmacy. Really bad service. My sister and I went to print some photos, we told the cashier and she said we had to wait an hour, then we told someone else and he did it in 1 minute! The lady didn't care about our order and ignore us when we were there. A nice young lady then went and give us our photos. The other lady was nice to everyone else except us. Excruciatingly long waits, a lot of meds not available. The last time I was there, they only filled 1 of 2 meds on my prescription yet tagged my prescription as having had both meds filled. When I went to another pharmacy to get the missing med, they had to call back to verify I had not had that med filled. Very inefficient service and no one cares about customers who direly need their meds fast - not tomorrow. read more

I was a steady customer of this pharmacy for over 10 years, but two things happened that changed everything. 1) After having a regular prescription filled there for a while, I got a phone call from some Florida scammer who wanted me to fill my prescription from some fly-by-night mail order pharmacy. These scammers had my name, my phone number, and the drug I had been taking. This was not leaked by my physician, so I have to assume it was leaked by the pharmacy. 2) The final time I filled a prescription there, I called them to see if it was ready for pick-up and they said it was ready so I arrived 10 minutes later. This was a schedule-II drug apparently with a high street value. I got to the pharmacy and there was a long line of people so I waited about 15 minutes before getting to the pick-up counter. When I got there and told them who I was, they said; "Oh. You just picked that up." I informed them that I had NOT yet picked it up and that I had called them less than half an hour earlier, and had been waiting for 15 minutes. The pharmacist insisted that I HAD picked it up and began accusing me of somehow defrauding them. I spent about 10 minutes trying to convince them that I was a long-time customer (with chronic back problems) and that I was not a criminal. I asked them to call the police because I thought perhaps somebody inside the pharmacy was using this tactic to put schedule-II drugs on the street, but they would not call. I wrote a letter to CVS corporate describing my experience and got a call from an investigator who worked for CVS. The investigator contacted the pharmacy and they suddenly "discovered" that they had given out my prescription to the wrong person, who coincidentally had the same name as I have, and coincidentally showed up right after my call. The likelihood of anyone having my last name (an uncommon spelling which less than a dozen people in L.A. County share) and having them appear in line at the CVS Pharmacy within the 10 minute window between the time I called and when I showed up must be very close to zero. Pharmacy staff are required to check identification and get a signature for schedule-II drugs. Their story was at the least implausible, but practically impossible. Somehow the CVS investigator was taken in and believed their (new) account of what had happened. They allowed me to fill my prescription that time, but I have not returned since. I love this CVS pharmacy! I live nearby and they are open 24 hours, which works great for me. Always helpful and informative. My doctor sends prescriptions directly to them, and I just go in an pick them up! Never had a problem with a long wait time or any insurance glitches...thank goodness! read more

I'm not sure why this place only has like two stars. I think it's awesome! It always has the little things I need like shaving gel and hairspray as well as cheap alcohol. I can always find a good deal on a 36 pack or tequila. I rarely go anywhere else to buy alcohol. Having a CVS card is also a plus because I always get little coupons that help me save money! It's pretty exciting seeing your bill go from $20 to $11.... or maybe that's just me. read more

Worst pharmacy around. Have one prescription that my other pharmacy couldn't fill right away (had to order). So I made the mistake of bringing it here. Brought it in at 8am. They asked when I want to pick it up. Told them in an hour. They said okay. Retuned 1 1/2 hours later, prescription was not ready. They said they were just finishing it up will be a couple of minutes. That couple of minutes took 45 minutes. If you have to take a prescription there. Turn in your prescription. Tell them you'll wait for it then go back the next day to pick it up. That's your best bet with that place. They tell you that there "sorry for the wait", but if they really were sorry for the wait they would have done something about their problem that they had for years. If you are looking for a great pharmacy in the area Kovacs-Frey Pharmacy is your best bet. Compare the reviews between the two and you will see. read more

I've been getting my prescriptions filled at this pharmacy location for the past 10 months. I think about 9 out of 10 times there has been a significant wait for prescription pick up (I've only dropped off twice and that was a slightly better experience). I have gone all times of say, morning, mid day, and even 9pm on a Sunday night, and have always had a wait. Last night was the most frustrating time yet, with few people working and many waiting. One woman in front of me was complaining that she had been there an hour, despite having been told that it would only be 15 minutes. Yikes. Finally, someone came to assist me and did not offer an apology for the ridiculous wait (my wait was about 20 mins just waiting in line for a prescription that was already ready). I have had more pleasant pharmacists at this same location, so I guess it's all about who you get. It's a large store and easy to shop around in, so that's a plus. But for those who are visiting the pharmacy and may be in a rush, just be prepared for a wait. It is 24 hour, so maybe the middle of the night would be best! read more

If there ever was the worst pharmacy award, 190th CVS will get it every year. Anytime i go, there are lines of customers waiting for pickup and the customer service agents take sweet ass time. Today was the last straw. I dropped prescription a week ago for one of my kid. I got txt message from CVS to pickup yesterday. I went to store to pick it up. After waiting 20 minutes in pickup line, they asked me to go to drop off line. Another 15 minutes wait and they told me to wait for another hour to pickup the medicine. I showed them the txt and they told me they don't control the text messages. I am not going to this CVS ever again... BAAADD customer service, BAAD service over all.. read more

By far one of the most incompetent pharmacies EVER. How any of these people still have jobs is beyond me... Not only was there always a huge wait for all of my prescriptions, they once LOST one of my prescriptions! One of the pharmacists left me a voicemail telling me they were out of said medication and I needed to pick up the prescription paper and take it to another location (RUDE...why can't you order it like a normal CVS?!). A few days later, I went to pick it up and they said they didn't have it on file and I must have picked it up already. After over an hour of waiting, arguing and letting them listen to the voicemail the previous pharmacist left me, I left EMPTY handed and told to go back to my doctor to get another copy. So pissed. A day later they called me to tell me they found it and I could pick it up to take it to another location. No apologies for the inconvenience, no call from the manager, nothing. That was the last straw and I immediately transferred all of my prescriptions to another CVS (the one on PCH in Hermosa which is much nicer and well run). After seeing previous yelp reviews, and knowing from my own personal experience, please do yourself a favor and take your prescriptions elsewhere! read more
