Was at this location with a friend for Thrifty's Ice Cream for the last hurrah before all Rite Aids close. The gal at the counter confirmed that all Rite Aids were indeed closing. Many of the aisles were bare. This was weeks ago and there were no markdowns yet in early June. Back to the ice cream, I have often chosen pistachio, cookies n cream, or chocolate malted crunch. Inexpensive and good ice cream! I have seen Thrifty's ice cream in the frozen aisles at grocery stores. Sure, I can purchase 'em there and have it at home. Not quite the experience of purchasing on a cone or a cup at Rite Aid. Have gone to this location a couple of times, another in Torrance and in Norwalk for my scoop ice cream and friend's/fam's scoops. They were always generous scoops too. Came here right before 9pm because we wanted ice cream after AYCE KBBQ. We weren't sure if they were still serving ice cream, but after around 5 mins of waiting, someone came by to help us. The selection was good, but some ice cream tubs were on their last leg/completely out. I just got a single scoop of chocolate malted krunch. The scoop was tiny. All of our scoops were tiny -__- Only reason getting a scoop there is worth it if everyone wants a different flavor. Their freezers have tubs that are much cheaper. Can't complain about the ice cream since it's consistent and made in a factory, but the scoops there are definitely not worth it. read more

I came in today around 7:50 p.m. because we wanted to get an ice cream. Finally someone came over and it looks like they were doing trash and double bagged the trash and came back and said would you like an ice cream? And I said yes. He didn't even wash his hands and just instantly put on gloves and I said I'll let that slide. So he said would you like a cup of cone and I said a cone please and I noticed he grabbed a cup so I said oh a cone please and he said I heard you. And I only repeated myself because I thought he didn't. I said oh I I didn't think you heard me sorry and he said I heard you. I did not get ice cream I told him his energy was so bad that I didn't want him to serve me. These times and day and age, people need to be more grateful and humble but they have a job. I recently had my 2 senior parents move in with me and was excited to have all of our prescriptions transferred to this rite aid, since my parents have so many prescriptions, and rite aid has great pharmacy hours. Long story short, there was one prescription they could not get. It took them 3 times (of me calling in to follow up) before they informed me that they could not get the prescription, and I should try looking for it elsewhere. I found it through Amazon pharmacy, and initiated the transfer online. A couple days later, I got an email from Amazon, letting me know that they attempted the transfer with rite aid, but were unsuccessful. So I took this morning off to go to rite aid, hoping that coming in person would expedite things. BIG MISTAKE! After waiting in a slow line, I was met with a rude employee, who just kept quoting that "their policy was that the other pharmacy needs to initiate the transfer." She didn't care that the other pharmacy already made the attempt and it had now been over a week of me getting the run around. Might as well been talking to a robot. I'll be switching all my prescriptions to Amazon now. read more

I live next door to this store and the people here are like family to me. Of course they see me practically everyday. Amanda, the cashier that works every weekend, is a very nice person and sociable. I always joke with her regarding serving me ice cream and she makes me laugh. Overall, she is a very nice person, always smiling, and has a positive attitude at all times. The supervisor of the store is very nice too always smiling, says hi to me each and every time she sees me, possesses a positive attitude, and always happy. I strongly recommend Amanda be the next manager of the store or the store supervisor be promoted to the manager position. Both Amanda and the supervisor of the store would make an excellent management team of this location. They possess excellent customer service skills which to me is very important!!! I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. I've been coming here all my life, because I've lived down the street from it all my life, and have never had a problem. I regularly get five medications from the pharmacy and have never had a single problem. My doctor once said that pharmacists often lose scripts if they're given in advance of its fill, and I asked the pharmacist about this and she laughed and said they're very careful with them and don't lose them. In my experience, this is true. Plus, they're my supplier. How could they not get five stars?? Maybe some people aren't getting the right prescription, if ya know what I mean. read more

I have been shopping at this Rite Aid for decades. It used to be a Thrifty. Armida is the absolute worst cashier. I have never in my entire life had an associate, ANYWHERE, refuse to complete my transaction. She said, "don't stress out on me" and walked to another register. How RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. The store portion of this rite aid is pretty good. They are always helpful and know answers to most questions I have. HOWEVER, their pharmacy is a mess and total nightmare to deal with. They completely lose, misplace and FAIL to follow up on putting together DOCTORS PRESCRIBED PRESCRIPTIONS. If you rely on getting your medication on time... or at all, don't use this pharmacy. THEY WILL FAIL AT THEIR SINGLE FUNCTION. Better to go elsewhere better for such important transactions. read more

I visited Rite Aid somewhere between 5 and 6 am on a Friday morning. The city wasn't even awake, and I was just in tears. The staff was able to help me find the products I needed, and after hearing me out, offered me a free bottled water. I will never forget their generosity and understanding. I only went to this pharmacy because my insurance only allows Walmart & Rite Aide & Walmart had been out of my medication for weeks. Therefore I was desperate so I had to endure the humiliation, stress, & being treated as if I AM A CRIMINAL trying to obtain medication legally as if I've done something wrong! They have a consultation office but never use it. When you drop off your prescription they take your drivers license and run it through their drug addict /tweakers database and when you come up clean they continue to call your doctors office and keep humiliating you like you are a criminal or you stole the doctors prescription pad. I am a PATIENT with real health concerns that some random pharmacist will never understand. I am a "patient x" and there are many challenges to my disabilities but they do not even consider you are disabled. This process took well over an hour of me waiting in an uncomfortable chair with 6 other sick people coughing sneezing without covering their mouths. This is dangerous for person with sensitive immune systems making us stay in this environment while being electronically frisked. Had my fiancé tried to fill this for me it would have been a bigger nightmare so I had to endure an hour of excruciating pain while they treated me like a criminal. They then made me wait 4 more days to get my medicine. The day it was supposed to be filled I was told I would receive a call when it was ready. Monday it was due. No calls ' Tuesday morning I called they kept me on hold for 15 minutes and finally the pharmacist who pretended like she didn't know I was waiting for it answered the call and She said it hadn't been filled yet and would be ready in 20 minutes . I arrived in 30 minutes and it was still another 30 min wait to pick up the prescription . If you want to be treated like a criminal go here. Was there tonight to buy Thrifty ice cream on a dead night, super slow but had to wait 10 min in line because there was only 1 cashier who was helping a customer with some money order transaction which took 10+ minutes. She called her manager to verify something and re-count money and this manager was so slow, saw the line behind but chose to go back to her office. So bizarre because the one cashier asked for help 3x over the PA. 10+ minutes wait with ice cream on hand. Ridiculous! This shift manager gotta go!!! read more

Good ol' Rite Aid. I remember when you used to be Thrifty. I mean you're still thrifty, but you know that I mean. They redid the entire interior recently, and I must say, it's very nice. Everything is new and clean. Things are kind of hard to find, but there are plenty of isle signs. They even put a little makeup station in the middle of the cosmetics area that has a "makeup specialist" that hangs out at it waiting to help you with your makeup questions. I think that's kind of a waste, though, because I don't really think of Rite Aid as somewhere to go for professional makeup assistance. But whatever. I pick up all my grandma's prescriptions from the pharmacy here and all technicians are always super nice. My brother and I go there so often, a few of them even recognize us. It's kind of funny. One girl even said she knew I was my brother's sister because I look so much like him even though I was alone at the time. It's also a major plus that this location is pretty much the only place in the area that's open 24-hours. Imagine all the late night ice cream runs I do. I've also been buying my booze here for years. Booze prices are seemingly cheaper than other places around. I could do without all the people out front always asking for monetary donations, but first-world-problems, amirite? read more

Be careful when trying to get cash back! They charged a customer for his cash back but would not give him his cash. They kept saying it says $10.00 cash back but doesn't include it in the total. Then when I get to the register to get cash back on the register next to him they first tell me there's not enough cash so when asking ok how much do you have, he says there's not enough to get that amount. So again asking how much can I get back his story changed to "oh there's none" ended up leaving with no cash back and the other guy still trying to get cash. I love that it's 24 hours. As a student that stays up studying and randomly needs school supplies or food, I can always count on rite aid. They recently renovated the interior and it defintely does not look like a rite aid. I haven't been to any other rite aid's recently as 1. I've been coming to this rite aid for years, 2. this is probably closer to my house than the other rite aid, 3. I think the other rite aid near my house closed down. So I'm not sure if it's just this rite aid that recently got renovated but it looks so nice! Super bright and clean inside. In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, I stopped at this store to grab an asthma inhaler. Couldn't find them, so I inquired with the cashier. She told me (in a tone - you know the one - like I am an idiot) they don't sell them OTC and wouldn't even look into it for me. First off, there most certainly are OTC inhalers; I purchased one the following morning at a different Rite Aid location. Secondly, I understand not every employee is expected to know about every item you carry, however they should at least be willing to check, especially when it comes to more vulnerable members of the population during uncertain times. And before you assume I'm some "Karen," I also work in the retail realm, and don't just shrug off customers asking for help. Completely disgusted by the lack of training and empathy here. Rite-Aid has all your basic necessities. However, they need to work on their service. I went in to go buy some Easter eggs that I needed for my classroom. Unfortunately, while I went in, there was a pool of liquid (most likely from a beverage that someone had dropped) on the floor. There were no signs, and as you can guess I almost fell. Luckily I was able to maintain my balance and I did not fall. The thing that made me mad was that there were no signs, and there wasnt one worker who was warning the customers that there was a pool of liquid. While walking around, I noticed some older lady cleaning the floors 5 minutes later (while the younger people were wandering around). Really? I guess my warning is that if I did fall this could have been a lawsuit. Please have signs, and have someone warning people of the pool of liquid on the floor. Go in at your own risk, because the workers do not seem to care if their customers will fall on the floor because they are not taking pre-cautions to clean. read more

This Rite Aid is awesome. It is right around the corner of my house and always has good prices. Their service is always very friendly. - great pharmacy that always seems to be critter. The pharmacists spend time with you and care about the customers. - I am a dork that loves the "as seen on TV." I am of course careful what I get. They have periodic sales, and you can get good prices. - really good during the holidays and post holidays. Walmart prices but better quality - nice selection, good liquor selection, though the beer selection is pretty limited Perhaps my favorite is Thrifty Ice Cream! I don't come here too often anymore, I mostly shop at Target for most of the things they sell at Rite Aid. Since they already have all of my insurance info, etc. I come here exclusively for my scripts. I love that my doc can email my scripts and I'm in and out in no time.
