Came here yesterday just to pick up an item I forgot to bring from home. I found it easily although it was way way more expensive than I would have paid it home. But since I needed it I had no choice. I didn't see any staff members in the store at all and then I went to self checkout which made life easy on getting what I needed, paying for it and being out the door. The store itself seem clean and seemed easy to find what I was looking for. The pharmacy itself wasn't open but it was after 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday so that could have been why. It was nice that this was adjacent to the hotel I was staying at. read more

This pharmacy, the place where I (used to) get my vaccinations and prescriptions, allows pets to roam in the pharmacy. You know that because of the urine stains from illegetimate service dogs owned by peole who can't manage visiting a store without their pet. Don't abuse rights limited for those who are legitimately disabled. It's a bad look and impacts others. Your dog will not love you more. read more

I work at a doctor's office and called to advocate for a patient to get her medicine refill. The pharmacy tech kept picking up the line and placing the hand piece down so i could hear everything in the pharmacy, this went on for 25 minutes! I actually went on my work break and came back to continue the same hold pattern. The final results no refill authorization to be found-unbelievable! With all the choices in pharmacy, go elsewhere you deserve to be treated with dignity, not get stuck in some tech's little game of phone-hold-listen to us-and get nothing done. They clearly need a manager, or new one and to beef up the staffing to match the demand and supply (or lack of). read more

I moved from the Valley to Hermosa Beach recently. They sent my prescription to the Valley CVS and no one could help me, not even that CVS. However, Leila (the Pharmacy Manager) at the Hermosa Beach location was super nice and resolved my transfer issue within two minutes. She is very professional and seems to get things done around there. I had my prescription within 15 minutes. Shout out to Leila! Give her a raise, CVS pharmacies must retain good talent. I am new in area. I had my prescription transferred to this CVS from my old CVS. I walked in to pick up that prescription and I did not see the big sign that said pharmacy, it was my first time in the store. And I asked the cashier, I later found out her name is Bridgette. She told me in a demeaning tone, "right over there where it says Pharmacy" I started to walk to that area and as this was the highlight of her sad life I her her tell the person that was checking out. I was waiting in line At pharmacy and now wish I had let it all go. I left the line deciding I'm not spending a dime in the store and went to Bridgette and asked her name, I asked for her manager, Mike who also lacks customer service skills and I just left. Tried to see if CVS has a drug in stock for my daughter who is sick. Pharmacist Leila was rude gave me the run around. She refused to tell me if they have Tamiflu in stock and insisted that the doctor call in first and then she would let me know. Are you kidding me! Don't use self-checkout and request no bag because Tunde will run from behind the counter to accuse you of stealing ignoring the fact that he heard you loudly talking on the phone about how you just used your CVS bucks for the first time and struggled with your transaction for 10 minutes and even needing help from management. When I pointed out he had been standing right across from me for 10 minutes and I'm being singled out for blackness he said that was stupid because he's African (as if Africans aren't notoriously horrible to black American women). I showed him my receipt he looked stupid and then I stormed out cursing him all the way. He had a whole line of people uncomfortably watching this encounter, his coworker who had helped me, didn't even glance his way when he started on his tirade. I am genuinely curious if anyone can explain why I have the option to get a bag, but if I opt to not have one I am accused of stealing? I bought a box of gloves and some makeup I was literally about to put in my purse when I got to my car; I just didn't want to contribute more to plastic waste than I have to. on Thursday this week I dropped off a prescription for pain pills from my back Doctor Who will be doing some outpatient surgery on me as soon as the MRI comes back on Friday I had oral surgery in the oral surgeon gave me some pain pills for my mouth... When I brought the prescription in on Friday. The pharmacist said I had already gotten one yesterday and they said yes that was for my back for when I have back surgery. This is for my mouth for the next couple days because I had mouth surgery and I'm not allowed to take anti-inflammatories due to some blood issues I'm having... She called my dentist and told him I got pain pills a day before so he canceled the prescription... He made it seem that I was an attic and all I was trying to do is get pills. I've lived in Hermosa since 1998, and this is the rudest that anybody has ever been to me and insulted my integrity! I picked up my prescription for my antibiotics and went out to my car and had a breakdown... So I got to lay in my bed all night long in pain because I was not able to do anything about it and or take over-the-counter meds! Thank you for embarrassing me and also looking at me with discussed I will never ever go in the Hermosa CVS at 1:55 PCH because I feel I was discriminated against! Thank you for listening. I have gone to this pharmacy for years--picked up my prescriptions no problem but the service was so lacking in this case I feel compelled to post a review. Here's my story. I was told I might need a TB test in order to visit the school my daughter teaches at. I called my pharmacy to see if that was something that was available. After being on hold for 15 minutes I was advised the pharmacy was now on lunch break and not available. Ultimately I spoke to an associate who told me to call back to the pharmacy later as they had no information. I did and after another 15 minutes or so reached someone at the pharmacy. Sounded like a nice guy but told me they did not offer that service but that there was a location close by that did. When I mentioned the long wait time in teaching a real person, he gave me the number and suggested I just press 6. I called but that did not work. I was informed to be patient and someone would pick up the phone. This went on for 48 minutes. I would have hung up but I guess I was curious to see exactly how long I would remain on hold. Ultimately, after 48 minutes, someone picked up but, according to them they were not the store in question but "minute clinic" and I would have to go on line to make an appointment. There's more but just wanted to advise others what they are facing. read more

The employees here are fantastic and polite. So please believe me when I say, take the negative reviews with a LARGE grain of salt. I witnessed it myself tonight. They kept cool dealing with the upmost TRASH clientele. I have such respect for the women here. Gave this place a 5 star review in the past, no longer have that opinion. Whatever you do, do not get your pharmacy prescriptions filled here. I needed a medication in a timely matter (life or death) and this CVS promised me they could get me the medication on Monday (it was a Friday). I asked the young Hispanic male multiple times if he was sure they could get it in and he repeatedly said yes. He let me know I was going to get a text when it was ready for pickup on Monday. Well, that text never came. In fact, they didn't even bother to call me and tell me they couldn't get the medication. I called an hour before they closed and they made a ton of excuses. I wasted 4 days of treatment only to find out they couldn't even get the medication in the first place despite promising me they could. They do not care about their individual customers at all, they only care about the number of prescriptions they sell. read more

I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years here. And today was the last time I will deal with them. Over the years, I've spent 1000"s of dollars on sunscreen, soda, school supplies and too many other things to count. Why? Because I'm a good loyal customer. I also have used the pharmacy for every one of my family and friends that I refer. Until today. I have been trying to get a prescription filed for a week. Same one I always get, but then the game of your doctors not calling back begins. So, I call my doctor who tells me its approved and has been for 5 days.....huh? OK, I call back the pharmacy to check. No, your doctor needs to fill out the CORRECT paperwork. So, I create a three way call to get everyone on the same page. ME! I'm the customer. Does CVS thank me? Any sort of, of you shouldn't have to do this.....Nope, in fact they ask the doctor to call back and refill it again. This will be my last time to fill any prescriptions here. I had time to kill and so I dropped in this CVS. Their scanner machine works! My print out coupon gave me more than I expected! I got a free Essie nail polish, thanks to the scanner! I've been to several CVS stores where the scanner was not working. The staff were very helpful and making sure I got my free Essie polish! My other projects were a bargain too. Buy one and get a second free! Parking was easy. Two ways to get in and out. One entrance from PCH and the other from the side street. Easy to see from the street. read more

I've had several interactions with the pharmacy staff and have been pleasantly surprised. I've gone a few times to fill different prescriptions that ended up not being covered by insurance. The pharmacists/techs gave me great advice on how to get a better price and whats steps to take to get an alternative. I was surprised and grateful that they took the time to give me so much attention. I have also gotten my flu shot here a couple times. Both times they processed me quickly and I was out within 15 minutes. The pharmacy hours aren't the greatest but it doesn't seem like many pharmacy's are open late anymore. read more

CVS dominates the pharmacy industry with share prices rising. Its loyalty program is worth enrolling in, and it's not terribly annoying. I often get 30% digital coupons that are actually useful. I was looking for Drano the other day. Paul walked me to the product as opposed to telling me what aisle it's in. I've had my share of times when the items weren't where the store clerk said they would be, so I appreciated that. The staff is always friendly here. The aisles are arranged sensibly so it's easy to find products here. read more

I actually like this CVS, the biggest negative is that their pharmacy is always busy. My boyfriend lives across the street, so when I came to visit, I needed to come here a few times for toiletries that I needed, medicine that he needed me to pick up and for simple things like water. There is a great selection of face/body care items here so when I needed some face wash for sensitive skin, this place had what I needed. As far as the pharmacy, I was picking up for my boyfriend who just had surgery and was bed ridden. He did not have his health insurance straightened out before the surgery, so I had to deal with it all at the pharmacy. The pharmacist was extremely patient with me, and called me many times when there was something that I needed to do. I was almost embarrassed to go in and pick up the medication, but I immediately recognized the pharmacists voice and thanked her for helping me out almost the whole day. I've had generally very good service in here and like this location. read more

After being disappointed that another CVS right down the street from this one seems to have discontinued my favorite brand of lotion, I continued my search and drove to this location. As I pulled into the parking lot of this CVS, I observed the windows of this location painted like a billboard indicating they are open 7 days a week at 7:00am, which is good to know. As I parked my car I observed this CVS sells propane tanks=) which is always good to know because I love to 'Braai' (Southern African for BBQ). As I walked inside I observed this place to much bigger than the normal CVS I shop at. This location had a photomat, sold cell phones and cell phone plans, an attached Pharmacy and even offered a Lottery Kiosk that actually worked (lots of the kiosks around the South Bay always seems to be Out of Service). I remembered what I had come here for and walked over to the lotion aisle and once again was saddened that is seems like CVS has discontinued my favorite lotion. What struck me as disturbing is the same product that seems to have replaced my favorite lotion was priced a $1.00 cheaper than a CVS which is literally located within 1/2 of a mile away. I came to the realization that my lotion has been discontinued and sucked it up and loaded my hand cart up with lotion and walked to the cashier. Like the other CVS right down the street this location seemed to be a Ghost Town right around 9:00am-9:15am which is always nice=) I asked the cashier if she knew if the CVS brand lotion has been discontinued, she said she did not know. I explained that the new bottle looks like the old bottle but it is missing a few ingredients. The cashier agreed with me that it stinks when you get used to a product and then it is discontinued, what is weird is the old bottle says 'NEW' in big yellow letters so I guess this is the 'NEW' 'NEW' lotion. Now that I know my product has been discontinued I will continue shopping at my normal CVS and only visit this one if I am strapped for time and just happen to be driving past this location. As for the cleanliness of this location, it looked clean and smelled clean which is pretty darn important when you are dealing with a Pharmacy within eyeshot of anywhere in this store. On my way out I stuck a couple of dollars into the Lottery kiosk and played me some 'Powerball.' read more

Okay Marisa...another review for another CVS. I don't know what it is...maybe its the familiarity of the store. Its a place I can go that feels like I'm in the local CVS in Bayshore or East Islip or Huntington, NY. Brings me back to the good old days of slushing through the snow, bundling up in the cold to run out and grab some cold medicine...oh wait now that I'm putting it that way, that kinda sucked. ha! LA is MUCH better! and CVS is a great place to pick up some very much needed 'girl products'. p.s. big parking lot, easy to get to, just be careful merging back onto PCH when you leave the lot...there are lots of people that enjoy driving really fast along that stretch. read more

Original: The prices are not the best compared to places like Target, but you can get in and out quickly. If I just need one thing, I will pick CVS for convenience. Target is such a pain. This is a typical CVS. Parking is fine. The employees are friendly. Update: We got our flu shots here for free. They handled all the insurance information. We were in and out in under 10 minutes. I appreciate the ease of this versus going to the doctor's office. Definitely a good place to get your flu shots in the fall. read more

It's pills, shave cream, a pack of gum, grandma's enemas...it's not rocket science folks. There's a CVS, Walgreens, etc on every corner pretty much cuz people be needing their fix. - This location is relatively clean, never visited the potty, don't ever intend to unless there's a code brown. - Not too many weirdos hanging around asking to buy your prescriptions off you for cash...then again...if I required a prescription I'm not sure I'd sell it...actually pretty damed sure I wouldn't sell it. - The cashiers know how to use the cash registers, which isn't always the case. - The pharmacists were very nice. I was getting migraine medicine not herpes cream, so maybe they treat VD people differently...I'm trying to not ever know how that feels. - There was a creepy older gentleman standing in the condom aisle...if you get to 60+ years old and aren't sure which ones fit, or what's your kind, maybe you shouldn't be having sex grandpa...now put the Cialis down, and calmly get a newspaper and complain about the kids these days with their clothes and rock music. - I don't buy food at CVS, the brands look Chinese and oddly "cheap" its really rather scary. I once got my dog a chewy from a drug store, and she looked at me liked I'd just smoked crack...she wouldn't go near it. It must have been made from "Chicken Flavored" Chinese rat ass. - This location is close to home, so it's nice I can walk to the drug store if I need anything...or run like hell if I have diarrhea.
