Absolutely, hands down, the WORST place to have handle your prescriptions. I would love to give the "pharmacy manager" Lee a negative 100 stars. She has ZERO people skills, no customer service abilities and has no business being a manager of any sort. I have been coming here for almost 30 years and their management in their pharmacy has left a lot to be desired. Their prior manager, Paul had absolutely zero people skills as well. Looks like they went from bad to worse with Lee. Not only did she hang up in my face, prior to that she refused to listen to what I needed before putting me on hold and coming back with a holier than thou attitude in every word coming out of her mouth. Details: I ordered a prescription to be delivered yesterday and paid for it. It was supposed to be delivered before close of business yesterday. This morning I get a text asking if I'm still picking up my RX. I replied no since it was supposed to be delivered as I paid for it already. Immediately I received another text saying ok we cancelled your order, let us know when you want it refilled. Naturally I called because I need my prescription and I had ordered and paid for it yesterday. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Lee. Instead of listening to my question, she kept saying things that had nothing to do with my problem. I got frustrated and raised my voice a little to try to get her to listen to me and she then WENT OFF on me. I asked for the manager and she said "I am the manager" and hung up on me. This was a very simple error on their part that could've been easily handled and should not have ruined anyone's day. People who go to a pharmacy for prescriptions should not be treated the way Lee treats people. I have cancer (in remission), coronary heart disease, anemia, and a plethora of other ailments that I need medicine for. I don't need the stress of having to listen to someone like Lee tell me to check with my credit card company to see if a payment has gone through when it had nothing to do with what I needed. Of course my credit card went through, I'm on express pay with the pharmacy! Not only are her customer service skills, and people skills waning, her thinking process apparently wasn't working today either. This is my last straw with this pharmacy. I have gotten many different solicitations to have my prescriptions delivered by mail free of charge by various different companies. I am definitely going to look into those because I am not ever going to deal with Lee again. I have way too many health problems to have to be verbally abused and berated by my pharmacist. Located off Pacific Coast Hwy in Redondo Beach. Small parking lot. Came here for my mom and my booster shot this was the only location I was able to get an appointment. The store is clean. The pharmacy area was clean and staff was excellent and helpful. We got there a little early and they took us cause it was not busy. DISCLAIMER: This is a ZERO star post and more so a WARNING about this location!! I was accosted, threatened, harassed, violently attacked with vicious foul language and followed out of the store by the clerk!!! Last Sunday evening I visited this location with my 13yr old daughter. I was looking for something in particular. When I realized they didn't have everything I needed, I placed back the bottle of juice I previously picked up. As we were walking out the store, the clerk approached me and started to accuse me of stealing and being an awful mother. What proceeded to happen will sound like a horrible scene out of a made for tv movie episode. I am not going to relive that moment by writhing all the details. I called corporate and was told I would here back from management.....that never happened. You all can complain and write almost the same thing everyone else says about the rudeness and horrible service. It will do you no good! Senior Management has and will do nothing. They allow the rude and bad behavior of their employees in the Pharmacy area. And it's the same employees everyone has been complaining about for years! Rude and unhappy pharmacy staff. I used to use this pharmacy all the time because of its convenient location, but I've had enough of the resentment that the pharmacy staff seem to have for the company and take it out on the customers. I have moved my prescriptions to CVS a few blocks away, and the pharmacy staff there are a lot nicer. Every time I go into Walgreens it's an amazing experience. My husband, a doctor would take our daughter here as a toddler and she would just be gaga over the toys. Last year Deanna administered a vaccination to her and we were very impressed. The cashier, Kim, my doppelgänger is always pleasant, knowledgeable, caring, and competent. So I lived a couple blocks from this Walgreens in 2005 & used to walk over here all the time (before Yelp even had the check-in feature). Back in those days the place was cluttered & quirky & I loved it. They always had a big pile of pajama bottoms on a table, 3 for 10 bucks, & I bought tons. I still have some, my fave nightwear. They had piles of t-shirts, too, cheap. I bought a cheesy Charlie Brown Christmas tree there one year. What a hoot. It leaned to one side, had bare branches on which I hung a single ornament. Made me laugh. Those were the days. Boy, has the store changed. It's now super clean, uncluttered, no junk in the aisles. Bloody hell. Kinda took me by surprise when I walked in today & an employee asked if she could help me find anything. I didn't say, "Yeah, help me find my old goofy Walgreens that I loved so much"....cuz that employee was probably in kindergarten 14 years ago & would have no idea what I was talking about. Employees in 2005 didn't give a rat's ass if you found anything. They just let you roam around & have fun amongst the PJ bottoms & the ridiculous over-the-top hats. The place was a typical beachy junk shop with barefoot customers. Not no more. I felt a bit underdressed in my gardening shorts. I notice the pharmacy section has some bad reviews. Can't speak to that cuz I never used it. With all the silliness gone, all I found to buy was aspirin. I keep it on hand in case I'm having a stroke or heart attack or something. I can pop one of those to buy time. I might need the aspirin for the headache I'm getting as my formerly seedy beach town becomes more upscale. Next thing you know I'll be expected to wear shoes. Ironically, the Walgreens parking lot is now so clean (unlike before) that there's nothing dangerous to step on in bare feet. What is this world coming to, I wonder. Sigh. read more

Pharmacist refused to refill because I picked it up 7 days after the refill date because I was out of town on the refill date. She unilaterally changed by refill date to 7 extra day. Naomi will go out of her way to acknowledge you & kind enough to ask how you're doing. The demonic ones are very judgmental. It's like they share a brain. I go to this place pretty regularly during the weekdays and have been happy with the customer service at the pharmacy and the front counter (it's why this review gets three stars instead of one). The same can't be said for the weekends as I encountered the same rep for the first time that a recent poster commented on as having horrible customer service skills. This lady decided that I wasn't going to purchase anything until I answered the question, even though I was paying in cash. I decided that was enough for me and took my money and went elsewhere to get what I needed. My guess is this employee isn't going to last at this location. (Here's a hint to Walgreens, if someone wants to donate to a charity, it's very easy to do by way of the internet on our own. This Walgreens also lost me as a customer due to the pharmacy services (I almost word for world had the same exact experience as many of the 1-2 star reviews here) due to incredibly rude customer service. If you don't believe us, just see for yourself when you go or hope that the manager ain't the one who is working at the time. Even putting a smile on, being patient and calm awaiting filling prescriptions, the manager treats you like you are a thorn in her side for zero reason at all- she consistently maintains an extremely negative attitude. The one star is for the Walgreens other products / services being just fine for a drugstore but if you need a pharmacy best go elsewhere. I switched to a nearby CVS and while the wait/ lines can be longer, it is obvious why (people choose it over the Walgreens) as they have great customer service. I work in healthcare so I truly understand the challenges and how overwhelming many aspects can be including medications/ navigating insurance etc. but anyone who works with customers or patients must maintain a level of decorum even when having a "bad day" although the Walgreens pharmacy manager (when there) never seems to have a good day at all. We stopped by this well-stocked location to buy free and clear laundry soap and some cold beverages. They got few items on sale and they were really cheap. The cashier guy was so nice. Zero stars, stay away As someone who works in healthcare, I don't think the people working in the pharmacy realize that as healthcare workers that they really should be trying to help patients. Failure for patients to get the correct medication in a timely manner can significantly compromise their health. My mother uses this pharmacy regularly bc it is really close and her insurance requires it. They frequently make mistakes and then are rude about it. Then they don't even try to correct their error. They treat her like she's the one who made a mistake. My mother is a retired college professor with a PhD and the smartest person I know. But even if she had made a mistake it is the responsibility of the healthcare worker to make her health care needs top priority. They basically fail at the very purpose of their jobs. They all need better training. We will be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I accept this mission and make a stop at Walgreens Drug Store #1 in Torrance: No Hello Kitty Beanie Baby in sight! The Manager at that store claims a lady scooped up a dozen Hello Kitty beanie babies this morning and they sold out. (Really? A dozen? What is one going to do with a dozen Hello Kitty beanie babies?? Lol) I call Walgreens Drug Store #2. The phone conversation goes as follows Me: "Um, hi do you still have the Hello Kitty beanie baby in stock?" Lady @ Walgreens: "Huh? Hello Kitty....Hahahaha...we sold out of those really quickly this morning." Me thinking "oh geez maybe the same lady that took the dozen from Walgreens drug store #1 hit this place up too." I call Walgreens Drug Store #3. Same type of conversation with the same results. I'm beginning to think this will be a mission fail :(. One last attempt....call Walgreen Drug Store #4 aka this Walgreens that I am doing the Yelp Review. After being transferred 3 times to different personnel, one person finally knows what I'm talking about. She says they have 3 and asks how many I need. I tell her one (I don't need a dozen like that other woman lol). She asks for my name and tells me they will hold it. I ask where they are located and no one can give me quite clear directions....which leads to adventure number 2 that night (finding this place hahaha). I almost went in circles...hey PCH is one long street. The Walgreens guy told me it was a little past South Torrance high school (um note to people reading this...that is not true ;) Half an hour later and it's already dark I arrive at this Walgreens Drug Store. I can see why the store has such terrible reviews. I will be transferring my prescription to CVS or some other pharmacy as soon as humanly possible. The manager and pharmacy would not except my FSA card nor another debit card that I know has money on it and could not provide any answer as to why these cards do not work in their system. Manager provided no help or assistance and told me to call corporate. Well congratulations you just lost a pharmacy customer for life. I do not like to leave one star reviews at all. I do not think they are helpful or constructive and I tend to avoid them as much possible. But the experience I had with the Walgreens pharmacy regarding my COVID-19 second booster shot was unconscionable, negligent, unethical and frankly dangerous; I cannot in good conscience just say nothing. I'm hoping the one star really drives home how serious this is. My husband and I are both, per what is outlined in the CDC guidelines, immunocompromised and thus highly susceptible to greater risks tied to COVID-19. For this reason, we qualified for the early rollout of the vaccine back in April 2021, the early rollout of the booster back in December 2021 (we were actually given our first booster at this location), and we qualify for the early rollout of the second booster at present. Please bear in mind that we had these same conditions last year, so it's not like things have magically changed for us. I have been regularly keeping up with the CDC to see what requirements are to ensure that I am adequately vaccinated, since I could potentially, y'know, die if I get COVID. I booked two appointments for my husband and I to get second boosters to be administered that were supposed to happen yesterday, 6/24, at 12:15 and 12:30. My husband and I were both called yesterday morning by the pharmacy but we were sleeping so it had went to voicemail. When my husband called back, a woman in the pharmacy informed him that our appointments needed to be cancelled because "the vaccine is only available to people aged 50 and over." I knew that wasn't right, so I called them. I was connected to the same lady, who quickly told me that she was cancelling our vaccinations because it was only for people who are 50 and over or immunocompromised. I let her know that we were in fact immunocompromised, and she told me to check the CDC website. I told her I did, and since I was upset at this point told her "it's okay I guess I'll just die then" and hung up. Which--I know I could've handled that better, but at the same time I'm fairly certain I know my own medical history and whether or not I qualify for a booster. I have already contacted Walgreens corporate about this, but I feel it prudent to let it be known that the way I was treated is not only negligent and unethical, but it is actively discriminatory. If you are currently immunocompromised and in need of a second COVID-19 booster, don't come here. Book at a provider that engages with compassionate care and will not lazily dismiss you without considering your qualifications for a vaccination. read more

Wow - what an experience! The Pharmacists have become so bad! We have gone to this pharmacy for years and dealt with the usually ebb and flow of great staff, OK staff and poor staff. But recently - they dispensed the wrong amount of medication, blamed it on insurance, then said there was confusion so they could not fill it (they had already filled it twice incorrectly) and then said they would call the doctor. They never called the doctor and when I followed up with them about, the Pharmacy Manager told me that my doctor's office was lying to me about the pharmacy not calling. The first Pharmacist was agitated and highly emotional, and her boss was dismissive and told me that doctors lie to their patients all the time. read more

Terrible service. I've been going here for years and the last couple years the people who work there are not nice. Seem irritated by everything. I had an issue. Went to urgent care they gave me a certain medication. When I went to my doctor she wanted to give me a different medication but of the same class bc she felt it would work better. Apparently they can't release both bc of contraindications which is fine. But they didn't even have the decency to call me and let me know. So I sat and waited thinking my doctor forgot to send in the script. When I finally called they acted like I was some sort of idiot and should've known this. After this I will never go back again. Worst.Pharmacy.Ever. EVERY single month we go in to pick up our regular prescriptions, there is some kind of issue. They have overcharged us repeatedly. We have had to go back and get money refunded, or we have to argue with them about coverage until they call the insurance company. I have waited over an hour in the store only to check back in to find out that there was some issue and they can't fill it. I have witnessed others in the store complaining about the exact same issues. The younger male pharmacist seems clueless and uninterested in customer service. I mentioned him to a friend I was complaining to, and he knew exactly who he was and shared the same experience. Horrible pharmacy. I have had issues with them for years, but I decided to try again today for convenience reasons. It was approximately 10 am when I got there and no one was in line. It was pretty quiet, probably because people have stopped coming here. I gave the girl my prescription, then she said that the pharmacist was ON BREAK and I should wait an extra 15 minutes for her to get back to check the date on my prescription for refill. What?? You've been working a whole hour and now your on break? Isn't that why you close for lunch? I'm fine with breaks, but where is the backup pharmacist to help customers?!?! I was speechless. I don't typically leave reviews for places because I used to work in customer service and I just...know how it can be. However, I just left this Walgreens pharmacy on the verge of tears and want to warn people to stay away from this pharmacy if they value being treated with care when receiving medications or treatment. I came in trying to pick up a new medication last week to treat depression and anxiety, and they withheld this medication and one more of my medications due to them having an interaction. This morning, I returned under the impression that my psychiatrist's office had called and handled it with them so that I could pick up the medications. When trying to explain the situation to the woman at the pickup counter, Deanna, she kept rudely cutting me off and wouldn't let me finish explaining my situation, telling me what i already knew. I then called my psych's office and they called the pharmacy FOUR TIMES trying to get me cleared to pick up my medications. Finally they left a voicemail, and when I told Deanna this she continued to have the most rude attitude and turned to the pharmacist saying, "i GUESS there's a voicemail about her medication" and continued to act like it bothered her so badly that I was trying to get my medications at her pharmacy. I have pretty debilitating anxiety and have a hard time speaking to people in public as it is, and because of Deanna's attitude and the way she treated me and other patients while I was there, I will definitely not be returning to this location. I shouldn't have to deal with that for simply going to a pharmacy to pick up a medication, and neither should anyone else. Someone needs a vacation, or maybe a new career path. and it's not me. **I should add that I also wasn't offered a consultation for these new meds that have potential interactions, and I was honestly afraid to ask for one because she made it seem like my presence was such an issue.
