This review is hopefully helpful to management. I knew that this CVS opened at 7am. I got there at 7am and the first employee arrived at 7am to open up but didn't open the doors because she still had to do the cash registers. You would think they would get there 15 to 20 minutes early to do that! The second employee to come in was there at 7:10, but also didn't open the door right away. Now it's 7:15ish and they finally open up. I will say this that the second employee did apologize for the late opening and their staff has also been very friendly, but come on CVS you can do better! read more

The pharmacy staff here has always been awesome! They go out of their way to help. Two of my prescriptions are always on back order and the pharmacy staff at this CVS always try to help me locate my medication at nearby locations. They keep in communication and are just so nice. read more

Very awkward experience at the pharmacy. They made an error running my insurance. They readily agreed to re-run the insurance but then things got weird. The pharmacist made a funny face at me, then went to the other team members and started whispering and laughing. Apparently the joke was so funny that the pharmacist had to run over to the team member handing the transaction to interupt her talking to me to whisper more funny thing with his hand cupped around her ear so I couldn't hear. How is dust mite allergy medication so funny? And what's with the disrespect? I'm going to look into transferring to another location :( read more

My wife needed some female products so I ran out to CVS 10:55 seeing that they close at 11 got there with two minutes left on the clock and they were complete jerks about it didn't let me into the store told me they were closed even though the sign posted said they're closed at 11. It all started when I needed to place an in store pick up order on the app. It was advertised that p/u could happen in one (1) hour and that detail is what prompted action. Placed the order. I receive confirmation that it could be picked up the Next Day which is quite a ways off from 1hr. so I looked to see how to cancel, THERE IS NO WAY TO CANCEL. I had to go into the store. The manager was called, he was so bizarre because the whole time he moved and spoke with his back to me (?!?). No eye contact, some muttered words about needing to fill the order even though I explained I no longer needed it because I was there and just got what I needed. He was ineffective at communicating literally anything about the process, or that he was even done, he was generally terrible at any semblance of "service". read more

This CVS Pharmacy needs so much in the way of improvement, I don't even know where to begin. How about answering the phones in a timely manner, instead of leaving customers in the limbo of a never-ending queue? How about having an automated phone system that's not one of the most boring and convoluted in America, and without the unpleasant, looping Muzak melody that makes those on hold want to gag? How about hiring staff that sound alive, demonstrate a degree of courtesy, friendliness and professionalism, and understand English? How about having consistency in competence and service, instead of it always being hit and miss? Long ago, every pharmacist at this location was competent, able to answer questions and provide outstanding service. It was a pleasure to phone and/or drop in. Now, CVS is leading me to believe that zombies truly do exist. After the inconsistencies, inconvenience and problems in communication I've experienced recently with this CVS Pharmacy, I've decided to explore other, hopefully better options/solutions for filling my prescriptions. No one should have to waste hours and days trying to accomplish something that should be doable in 5 to 15 minutes. read more

This pharmacy is always super busy. The manager, Tran Nguyen, is always helpful. When I have had issues (need a certain manufacturer for one of my prescriptions), the pharmacy went above and beyond to make sure I was helped out right away. The staff there is always friendly and as busy as they are, efficiently and quickly process the lines that can be long at times. read more

This pharmacy is a DISASTER. They don't answer their phones so you have to drive there just to ask a question. Also, this pharmacy posts that it opens at 8:00 am but they don't open until 10:00. Their hours also don't mention anything about being closed for lunch but they are closed for lunch. I also got a voicemail message telling me that if I didn't come pick up my prescription they would put it back on the shelf. This was the FIRST notification that my prescription was ready. read more

Terrible service. Avoid this location at all costs for pharmaceutical needs. No one is at the counter even helping anyone, the lady (Latin or m.eastern looking one) pretends she's on the phone and is looking at the computer but having a full on blown conversation with her staff members. Not sure if she realizes there's people actually waiting in line, but I'll go else where. The other members (non pharmacists) just shouted out pharmacy when someone asks a questions. This review is about the CVS location at 1880 S. PCH. Redondo Beach. I have lived near this pharmacy for five years and in five years they have only answered their phone twice when I've called. Frequently, I need to go into the pharmacy to just ask a question or find out if my prescription is ready. Today, they actually answered the phone. I am waiting for a prescription for a diabetic meter to be filled and was told they don't carry them and had to order it from another pharmacy. It seems to me this is something every pharmacy should carry. In order to buy it from a different CVS, the person in this pharmacy told me I would need to call around, locate a CVS pharmacy who has it and then call them back and they will transfer the prescription there. I asked if she could check in her system to see what other pharmacies had it and she said she was not able to do that. Besides not answering their phone, not keeping items in stock that seem to be normal, and frequently getting my prescriptions mixed up, once again I am upset with myself for sending a prescription to the pharmacy. Although I live one block from this pharmacy, I will drive to a different CVS for all future prescriptions. New management is needed or oversight from corporate of this particular location. read more

Today is Labor Day Monday morning & I have had about an hour sleep. First, the cat created a middle-of-the-night ruckus trying to get out to tangle with a skunk. Then somebody's dog was barking. Then....sirens. I am so spacey-tired that I was having a conversation with myself in CVS: "I hope they have poster board so I can finish my little project today." "Ahhhh....good, there it is. Oh look, they also have foam board so I'll get one of those." "Wait....the 3/16 " thick foam board is $6.50 for a 22 x 28 hunk, seems expensive." "I shoulda gone up the street to Big Lots or Michael's but the lines are always too long at Michael's and I'm already here dangit." "I could use a cookie to go with my coffee that's getting cold in the car." "Better idea: breakfast sundae at Handel's. Is there such a thing? There should be." "Maybe egg nog flavor with bacon bits? Unfriendly workers. The cashier was as warm as a corpse. Didn't even say hi or thank you. No regard for customer service here. In fact my friends and I were scolded by an employee who accused us of over sampling the nail polish. 1) My friend bought 4 bottles and 2) I acted no differently than in Walgreens or even at the Chanel counter but was treated poorly here. The employee even kept hovering near us after our friendly interaction. Also the whole store was warm in August. I'm not even sure the air conditioning was on. Only felt cool at the checkout line because it was right by the door. Never coming back again. read more

Do not use this pharmacy! They've cut their hours, and 8 times out of 10, they will not have the medication you need. The staff doesn't care one bit how inconvenient this is, and have never once apologized for the poor service. I have a prescription on auto-refill (monthly) and at least every other month, they can't refill because they don't have it! If a medication is needed once a month, why isn't it in stock?!?!? I went in on a Tuesday @ 6PM, 3 cars in the parking lot so it's a slow night. I have been on a hunt for a specific perfume to use my 40% coupon. The night before a very nice employee from CVS in Manhattan Village, took the time for product look up & she suggested to try all other bigger CVS stores in Redondo. This location is in-between my office and my home so I started here 1st. A cashier named Dayana is behind the counter. She's helping another customer so I patiently waited & I signaled that when she's done I wanted to check out this perfume behind the counter. Let me give you the scenario, a Plexiglas on the counter & I'm wearing my mask, I'm excited coz' they have it in stock. I described the perfume box since she wasn't familiar. Dayana put it on the counter & not even under her breath said "rude!!" I didn't think any of it coz' I didn't pick up on it yet. I asked her how many ounces since the box wasn't clear, thinking I was in a conversation w/ her. She didn't reply & when I looked up that's when I noticed she looked pissed(?) She proceeded to say, you can't take it! Still have no idea of what's brewing, I said I wasn't going to yet but I intend to purchase it so if she could put it on hold while I grab other things. While I was walking away, that's when I realized that she's upset so I slightly turn to ask, "excuse me but did you say, RUDE?" Dayana responded " I work here but don't try me!!!" OMG! Now I thought I'm being PUNKED (remember that show) so I took a breath & suggested nicely if she's having a tough night to please take a break. She took a swig of her canteen & rolled her eyes & said it again loudly, TRY ME! I was shaking & couldn't believe what was happening! I asked for a manager, she pointed towards the door replied "he isn't in but his name is printed outside the door!" This young woman clearly have no qualms for her job, she clearly didn't have a care of any consequences of her actions. I was trying to comprehend why she was combative & so clear as day with her disrespectful behavior! In my head, I questioned, if she is so young like a 12 year old having a tantrum? (Not an excuse) She was natural about it, like she's done this many times before w/out hesitation! I am appalled & disgusted! I repeatedly said to her I didn't even realized & honestly didn't think I was anything but rude? But she kept on her combative banter " Don't try me" sentence??! I don't even know what she meant by that? I didn't feel safe like what she was going to hurt me while she's on the job?! I repeatedly asked for a night supervisor since the mngr isn't in & she pointed towards an aisle where another employee is stocking products. I told my story to the other employee who was apologetic & provided me the store mngrs name & phone#. She suggested to call Roberto in the AM. This Dayana person doesn't realize that there are people have lost their jobs from the pandemic & how fortunate she is to be employed. Or maybe she's doing her best to get FIRED! Very disturbing & weird behavior. I called Corporate to complain & I intent to meet & follow up w/ Roberto. I want to point out the difference in customer service from Manhattan Village CVS who went out her way. Horrible customer service. Our teenage daughter purchased a gift card on August 6th. The cashier directed her to the self serve kiosk inside the store. After her $51 dollar transaction she was told gift cards cannot be purchased on kiosk. The cashier then re-billed her another $35... it's been 11 days and the cashier nor manager refuse to make it there problem to return my daughters money. This CVS location's customer service sucks. I specifically went there to pick up pictures I ordered through the CVS app. I had placed the order in the morning and received a text and email that they were printed and ready within in hour. I arrived mid afternoon and it took me almost 40 minutes to check out. I waited in line at a register since no one was available in the photo department, I could literally see the envelope with my name on it on top of the printer, ready to go. I tell the cashier that I was there to pick up my order that was sitting right there (pointing towards the envelopes). He tells me that only the manager can get the pictures for him, policy. Okay. He calls the manager over, who is on another register. I wait. He calls the manager again when I look at him and quietly say "seriously?". We wait. As the line behind me is gets longer, the manager continues to check out customers, mostly from people who have jumped ship from my line. I mutter "mother£*cker" loud enough that the cashier calls him over again. He finally comes over and gets my envelope of pictures off the top of the printer and hands them to the cashier. 25 minutes have passed. The cashier enters the codes and sku's. No dice. He can't scan them, he can't enter them in the register. He has to call the manager again. I start walking over to him to make sure he heard him. After 10 minutes of trying, and me suggesting that he enter "misc" and charge me the price printed on the envelope, he finally got it. Almost 40 minutes later. If I didn't need the pictures I would have walked out. I will NEVER shop at this location again. No one here has been trained in customer service. Time thieves. read more

Unfortunately this CVS is the nicest one in the Redondo area however I will never shop there again. I have had two separate issues there due to incompetence and poor management training, not sure what the deal is with that particular store since the smaller stores in my area seem to be very competent and no problem. Yesterday for me was the straw that broke the camels back, I was given a gift card by my son for Christmas, I actually specifically asked for a CVS gift card because I shop there so much and it would be money of his well spent. He lives out of state so he sent me an E gift card, it's something that needs to be printed out because it has a barcode and pin number that they need at the register. Well, I had been able to use the card at a different CVS with no problem but yesterday I was told that they would not honor the E gift card, something having to do with not being able to scan them and having to enter numbers?? None of it made any sense to me since I was able to use the gift card at a different CVS couple days prior, but the manager was adamant that they could not honor the card. Like OK CVS has already received their money for the card and now they are telling me I cannot use it in their store? Absolutely ridiculous incompetence. I'm sure the fact is that none of them have been trained how to except these cards so they would just rather shrug (literally!) and tell the customer goodbye we will not honor your CVS gift card in the CVS store. So here is what I did: I left the store, drove a couple miles to another CVS and they not only were able to honor the card but they were very confused as to why I could not redeem it at the other CVS. Headline: online appts for vaccines not reliable I made an online appointment to get 2 vaccines, which required a 2 day advanced registration. At the appointed time of 2pm, I showed up, only to be told that the pharmacist was on lunch break. They did not seem to have a record or knowledge of my online appt. now what was the point of making an apt if it wasn't going to be kept? I ended up wandering around the store for another 10-15 mins before being seen. The shots were fine, quick and painless, and the pharmacist was nice enough and answered questions. I gave her my number and she stated that it didn't work and she doesn't have a courtesy card. So told her to remove two items that where for sale and she didn't even offer me a cvs card. I took a covid test and I freaked out as I thought I had covid. In the description it saids diagnosis: contact with virus etc. and gave instructions on how to take care of yourself. So obvious with the diagnosis I broke down in tears. For like 3-4 hours until I reached someone that told me that is the description of what they use to bill the insurance! I came here to buy a mother's day gift. This place used to be Thug Emporium (Drug Emporium) as a friend once called it. I do have fond memories of this store too. The store was set up where you walk in one door and have to walk into one aisle before you can check out the rest of the store. Not anymore, CVS opened it up. I went in today to buy one simple item: A hair comb. The reason I am being generous giving them two stars instead of just one is that when I asked the cashier if she could please tell me where the hair combs were, she immediately directed me to aisle #3 of the store. Points for her for knowing the exact location of the inventory. Regrettably, the experience at the store went down hill from there. I had a lunch appointment down the street in 20 minutes I needed to get to, and figured that I would be able to just pay for my comb and leave. WRONG!!! Both cashiers were so slow and so shiftless, it must have taken both of them several minutes each just to process one customer's order. I kept switching to the other cashier's line, but neither one was any better than the other. They acted like they were just at the job for the paycheck, and appeared to have no energy or enthusiasm for their jobs. I haven't been in a line this slow since I tried to buy Van Halen concert tickets from Ticket Tron circa 1979. The cashiers here are not the most qualified people to be working in customer service IMO. read more

i called ahead to see when someone in the pharmacy could give my husband and I a flu shot. they said come before 2:00 pm. we arrived shortly after 1:00 pm and were told that we couldn't get our shots because the person who administers them was on break and we would have to wait for 35 min. we didn't wait. what a waste of our time. i tried to use the cvs portal to leave a comment about my experience and the website wouldn't allow me to send it. what a joke. brick and mortar stores are wondering why people are buying things online. not hard to figure out why.... read more
