I love this pharmacy and cannot believe I'm having to write a bad review here. This feels awful. Pavilions is always texting customers about how we should stay up to date with our vaccines and call if we have questions. As a healthcare professional, I was VERY disappointed back in September to get my Covid booster. Only to find out they were providing an updated one within days and I was never told when I came for my shot. So I got a useless vaccine and now have to wait until AFTER Thanksgiving to get the current one. On top of that, I'm reading information about how poorly matched this year's flu shot is at actually tackling the mutation that is becoming dominant. I wanted to ask if there were any supplemental boosters in the works. The woman I talked to kept saying "we are just told....". She finally put me through to a temporary manager. And the moment I started asking HER questions, she said "well, you can talk to the manager in charge tmrw". I joked that was an easy way for her to shove me off onto somebody else too. She said "corporate sends those texts about calling if you have questions about vaccines. WE don't send them." (Implying she doesn't want to talk about any of this). I said OK. She hung up. Last Sunday we went to Pavilions to get a Covid booster shot. Quite fortunately, we had "Savine" give us the booster injection. This was the 1st time ever that neither my wife nor I experienced any feeling upon injection. Savine was patient, extremely well-trained, and had a great sense of humor. My opinion: it's the Savines of our world that create businesses that exceed while other businesses are mediocre or fail. We need more Savines everywhere. I have shopped at Pavilions for 25 years and have used their pharmacy for several years. My interactions on my personal prescriptions have been good. I have a 15 year old dog who sees veterinary specialists at Access South Bay. Twice now, I have gone to Pavilions, Rolling Hills Estates, with written prescriptions from these doctors and been turned away because the prescriptions were not electronic. I called my dog's cardiologist and she told me to go to a pharmacy that knows what they are doing and knows California law. In the state of California, vets can and do still write written prescriptions. I went back to Pavilions, saw the pharmacy manager and they filled the order. I just went back again with another prescription and another pharmacist was on duty. First he said he was going to call the subscribing physician to be sure the prescription was real (it was an opiate) as if I was trying to pass off a fake prescription! How rude! And then he gave it back to me and said he couldn't fill it because the doctor filled in my street address but not the city and state. Again, Pavillions does not know what they were doing. California law explicitly allows the pharmacist or pharmacy employee to write or type the missing address on the prescription themselves or simply maintain that information in their electronic records. The pharmacist was so incredibly rude and arrogant to me it was unbelievable. I have a good mind to move all of my, and my familiy's, prescriptions down the street to CVS. Pavilions, train your people on California law and customer service! I brought the above-mentioned prescription to CVS down the street. They knew what they were doing, wrote in the city and state, were not accusatory and filled the prescription without making me feel like I was doing something wrong. read more

I have used them for years and it's gone so far downhill, I am transferring all prescriptions from them to a different pharmacy. First, I had problems getting my insulin from them. I ordered the prescription over the phone, was told when it would be ready. When I arrived to pick it up, they didn't have it and wouldn't have it for days. Nobody bothered to call or send a text, nothing. I can't be without it and had to find it last minute elsewhere. I started ordering it way beforehand (you can only order it so far in advance), and ended up with the same problem once again. Another prescription someone called me that it was ready. I asked them to deliver it. They said they would send it out, and told me I could also ask for delivery through their app. I never received it. I called them back, and it was never sent out. That person told me I could ONLY do that through the app. I asked her why the other person hadn't told me this and said they were sending it out. Then she very condescendingly told me that I could find someone to help me if I couldn't use an app. I assured her that I was not technology illiterate and didn't need "help" using an app. I'm done with them. This pharmacy truly understands customer care! They are ALL exceptionnel professionals who run an efficient, customer focused pharmacy.The staff is courteous caring and knowledgeable! And they are really nice people! They always make time to answer questions thoroughly either in person or on the phone. Plus they are adept at coordinating and resolving complicated, sometimes confusing insurance issues and coordinating with physicians' teams. So very glad I made the switch years ago to this amazing local gem of a pharmacy! read more
