For some reason, this location closes rather early, so I was lucky to pick up my Iodine for some splinters and cuts from gardening. I must be dating myself for using Iodine, but it really seems to disinfect my wounds and never festers after application. As for the store, they have a variety of services that I never knew of, such as passports, photos, lottery tickets and more. Don't buy gift cards from CVS, especially this location. Several of my gift cards had zero balance and the store refused to do anything about it. I had all receipts and it didn't matter at all. Very frustrating. read more

I walked into CVS and headed straight to the photo department, but from the moment I arrived, I felt completely ignored. The two employees working--Judy and Leilani (if I'm not mistaken)--didn't acknowledge me at all. I had placed an order for a poster print, which cost $33. When I received it, it was full of ink stains. I pointed it out to the gentleman working there, and even he saw the issue and agreed to reprint it. During this time, all I could hear was Judy loudly complaining about her job and being rude to other customers. It was very unprofessional and uncomfortable. When the second print came out, it still wasn't great, but I just didn't have the energy to deal with them anymore. I asked for a box because mine was in my car, and Judy rudely told me I needed to go back out and get it myself. The good: This store is so organized and clean. They have tons of Easter stuff on sale! Their clothes section wasn't bad for a drug store! They had a wide selection of water shoes and water toys for kids. They have local gifts like Palos Verdes hats. They sold snacks that they also sell at Whole Foods like flavored dried chick peas. In fact, the front shelf is dedicated to healthy snacks and is nicely lit up. I came for Afrin and I was glad they sold many different kinds in different sizes with generic equivalents. They have a self-check out area. The store is spacious and spread out. There's plenty of parking. The bad: I couldn't find Jello powder. There were missing price tags on some items. The interesting: I've worked for CVS before further north and vow to never do it again. read more

Make sure you keep copies of EVERYTHING! They will lose all your info and make it a pain in the ass to get refills.

This is the first pharmacy I have ever dealt with. They received my prescription on Wednesday, didn't acknowledge it until Thursday and other than hearing that they had the prescription I had heard nothing by Saturday afternoon. I called them and after wasting 5 minutes with their AI attendant I spoke with a pharmacist who told me that hasn't yet processed the prescription delivery and would get back to me. I then told him this is an antibiotic and how long an I supposed to wait. He cashed me back and tufts told me they never received the order and tried to find another steer that had it just to discover they did had the drug in stock. Pure incompetence. read more

This pharmacy fails to meet its basic purpose: to have your medication available. Multiple times my medication that's on *auto-refill* has actually not been available when I go to pick it up. They don't even have it in the pharmacy. Unacceptable. Every staff member makes excuses for the poor service. None of them actually care to improve. They are all rude and impersonal. The few times I have had to use this location for a RX I've had good luck and no issues.

While in the area recently, I was at the post office around the way so I decided to drop into CVS. After this one visit, I have to say this is one of the nicer stores I have ever been in. I was surprised at how clean it was compared to the locations I'm familiar with. Normally I do self-checkout but since I needed cash (and it didn't look as though they were dispensing cash at these), I waited in line. I actually didn't mind; the customer in front of me was considerate (she asked if I was waiting for the self-checkout line) and the cashier was friendly. I did have to wait a little since the other cashier left after her customer (of course I was next up) but I wasn't in a rush and it wasn't that big a deal. Everything was easy to find here, so I can't complain. I admit I did not use the pharmacy, and it seems as though a lot of the negative reviews stem from that. I'm surprised they only have two stars; if the people disappointed here ever visited the post-apocalyptic, questionable CVS locations I have to endure up where I am, I'm sure they would be grateful for this one. read more

Doctor called in a prescription to this CVS on Monday. On late Tuesday afternoon went to pick it up. The girl at the counter said it'll be ready in 10-15 minutes. I asked why since it was called in more than 24 hours ago. She said a man had to fill it. Went around the store looking for other items to purchase. Then went back to the counter. Another woman said, "Oh, we don't have it here" I said then why did the other woman say to come back in 10 minutes? She said go to the Drop Off counter. Waited there. Woman there said, 'we'll have to send you to another CVS'. I asked if a person has pneumonia and a prescription comes in do you send them elsewhere? Why don't you simply say "We DON'T HAVE IT?" I visited this pharmacy at the adviceof cvs.com for an inhaler that showed they had it in stock. I drove out of the way waited in a very long line to be told. They did not have it in stock and sent me to Walgreens! In these timespharmacy items related to breathing should be stocked or updated stock by the minute. Walgreens is too far and Gas is too expensive. When others are ill, please do not cause additional stress and inconvenience. One of the worst customer service I've ever seen at a pharmacy!! Rude, arrogant, and unhelpful staff. There were a very old couple ahead of me and I heard their entire conversation as they were a little hard in hearing and also processed information slower so the conversation was a little loud. The pharmacy staff were very rude and short with the old couple, which were trying to understand why their medication that they needed so desperately was costing them $800!! It broke my heart to see them walk out slowly in defeat and extremely worried that they could have not afford the meds they needed. They could have been any of our grandparents. I ran after them and advised them to check with Costco, their pharmacy is far better priced for out of pocket meds compared to CVS. CVS is highway robbery in every aspect... I also educated them about the Good RX site, and how sometimes their prices are lower than Costco with coupons... they were so thankful and I saw a little bit of hope in their eyes... if I could afford it I would but their meds for them, it was a heart breaking scene... meanwhile the pharmacy staff could not wait to get rid of them even thought there was no one waiting in the line except for me and I was already being helped at the second window... any decent human being would have at least given them the information about checking Good RX or Costco... now coming to my own dilemma with them, I was actually picking up a medicine for an elderly person and when I got home and read the instructions it was extremely confusing and unclear... The long line at check out was what used to be the most irritating aspect of shopping here. It's a pleasure coming here, now that they've installed the self service checkout. They are so convenient and easy to use. You scan your cvs rewards card, scan your item(s), scan your own coupon(s) and drop them into the coupon slot (I usually wait until I see that it's been taken off), and pay. read more

The past 24 hours has been crazy. But thanks to Andrea and Reagan after 4 hours of me running from Torrance CVS to Carson CVS, then a different Carson CVS, (then hearing that the system took my order but couldnt process my order) San Pedro once again could not fulfill orders. I had ordered a photo book from Torrance only to find out 3/4 of the book was damaged. When I first arrived Chelsea told me my order was not ready yet 12 hours prior I got an email that it was. When I got home I realized the book was damaged. I went back to Torrance. I spent an hour at Torrance store while Magdalia tried printing a new book but the problems persisted. She called stores for help but no one could. I left defeated with a damaged book that I paid $30 for. On my drive home I got a hold of Edgar at Carson CVS. He was awrsome and said he would help me. Unfortunately I went to pick that book up and his machine had similar problems. He tried to print new pages but no luck. He sent me to the other Carson store. At the 2nd Carson store Raphaella helped me. She worked so hard for over an hour trying to get the machine to work. Their mahine was having problems too. So they suggested I send the order to San Pedro but before I go to the store I should call. I sent it to San Pedro on Gaffey. then called them. The gal didnt care to tell me her name but did tell me that they did not have the materials to print the order I sent them. I was so defeated then I called Andrea at Silver Spur she was amazing and so helpful. She talked with another gal got back to me and told me they could do it no problem. Not only did they take care of it their customer service was amazing. Reagan helped me at pick up. She gave me the book wrapped in plastic and boxed, which Chelsea at Torrance did not do. The crazy ending to the story is 30 minutes before I drove to Silver Spur Samantha from Torrance called me to tell me that she had a new book for me at Torrance that I could come and pick up for 1/2 off. WTH? When I left Torrance yesterday they told me there was nothing they could do for me so today I spent over 3 hours chasing down a book. Thank you Silver Spur for being amazing!! Boy did this book cost me!! But you made a bad situation good!! read more

The staff here are total dead heads. They act as though they are huffing glue, each and every time we deal with them. It is a disgrace to CVS. Most recently we were told the prescriptions were unavailable. We instated the pharmacist check, and they found out the prescription was available and processed. They just didn't feel like checking. That is their job, but this is the standard for this location. It befuddles the mind...the manager here is long overdue for being escorted out with a last paycheck. read more

Is it customary to be thrown out of the premises for refusing to input personal information ( birthdate) just to purchase over the counter drugs ie: Benadryl. I was thrown out of the store for tossing the product into the employee's hands because he wouldn't let me purchase the product because I refused to give personal information. A lot of people seems to complain about this CVS in their Yelp reviews but that seems a bit unfair. This is a clean, well-maintained location that offers all of the things that CVS is known for. In terms of customer service the staff is always nice and they do their job as well as can be expected. Each store, no matter what they offer, is defined by its client base. If there is a problem with this particular CVS it is more based upon its customers than its staff. The fact is, the average clientele here is generally elderly. From this, (and them), you can get hung up at the cash register sometimes as they debate prices, ask for discounts, and attempt to figure out the means in which they are going to pay. When this happens the staff generally calls additional staff members to the cash registers. But, it can be a bit frustrating. Other than that, this is a good store. This CVS is attached to a very large parking lot that is used by CVS and the other businesses in this strip mall. It is large and there is never a problem finding a parking spot. Overall, good place, offing all that needed CVS sort of stuff. read more

I. Hate. Spiders. Sunday afternoon, Father's Day. I was coming from the Urgent Care around the corner with 2 prescriptions to fill (brown recluse spider bite). Normally I go to Pill Box Drug in Redondo Village but they're closed Sunday. So the doctor suggested this CVS. I was aware of the bad reviews for their pharmacy but....it was open & just around the corner. So there I went. By the time I drove the 30 seconds (could barely walk on my swollen leg at this point) & got in line behind one person, CVS buzzed my phone to tell me my meds were ready for pick-up. The store was almost empty except for a few people filling prescriptions, so I guess I got lucky as far as not waiting in lines. The service was so wonderful that I'm compelled to give a shout-out to both the (female) pharmacist & the woman at the pharmacy register (wish I knew their names). I knew I didn't have insurance coverage for prescriptions but the counter lady offered to check anyway....and within a few seconds confirmed I was right. So she said she might be able to find a discount for self-pay & within a couple seconds she did - 10 bucks. I never take prescription meds, avoid them like poison. So I had a question or two about side effects, etc.. The pharmacist gave me a quick, immediate "consult": doesn't matter if you take the oral antibiotic with food or not; probably the most common adverse reaction would be hives. Jeez, I thought. I already got a big red spider bite..... But....no hives as of Tuesday so I think I'm good. As for the topical: use only a small amount, she told me. Glad I knew cuz it's powerful & it stings & I woulda slathered on a crapload if I hadn't been told otherwise. Like fried chicken, more is better....is my motto. Sometimes not, obviously. So....two days later, my leg hasn't yet turned purple & fallen off. I'm keeping it immobilized & elevated best I can so as not to spread the venom. The pain is greatly lessened, as is the swelling. Inflammation seems under control. The blisters are not much bigger than yesterday. The treatment seems to be working. My point: the bite was painful as hell but the pharmacy visit wasn't. I. Hate. I came in today with my very sick toddler and she noticed that I have been waiting for a while and proceeded to help me out. She also helped my husband earlier on when there was an issue with insurance. The pharmacy workers extremely disrespectful and rude. I was waiting in line and was the next one up and they almost didn't take me bc of their lunch regardless that I had been waiting. I told them I had just come from Urgent Care and they still refused to give me the medications I had been prescribed not even an hour before coming to pick them up. After they still refused to serve me I asked for the manager and when explaining I'm breaking out into hives and I need the medication, she put her hand in my face and told me to stop talking!! and that she'd get me my medication. ?? I'm sorry but your at work being disrespectful putting ur hand in a customers face that's not only in pain but in emergent need of my medication and not to mention PAYING FOR IT. I was able to get my medication but not with out a lot of attitude and rolling of the eyes. Completely unnecessary as I'm a nice respectful person and I would not do that to a stranger. another bad experience with these losers today my doctor ordered a refill of pen needles last week. They told him everything was ok.The order was never filled. I called these losers today and they said they were out of stock and were ordering them. My doctor called CVS and they said they weren't covered by my medicare part D plan (I called the insurer and the insurer said the needles were covered by my plan). CVS told my doctor that the way the way they handle those situations is to lie to the customer and tell the customer that they were working on the order. Amazon.com sells them for $5.99 per box of 100, but CVS sells them for over $30 per box (but Amazon.com can't sell them to customers in CA because a law protects pharmacy profits). My doctor changed the prescription to a different brand of needles and they told him they would be ready for pick up by 3 pm tomorrow. I checked up with CVS today and the losers/liars at CVS told me they were out of stock and were ordering some. Since I need to take insulin daily (I have kidney failure and diabetes) and it has already been a week since the original order that they lied about, I asked how long it would be to get the revised order filled. The CVS loser/liar said it usually takes 6-7 days. (My legs will need to be amputated by then). Don't do business with these losers/liars unless you want to have your legs amputated. Many issues with this pharmacy. Long lines are a given sometimes. That's fine. But saying you don't have the meds when I was notified that the rx was ready, not ok. Then I went back and hour later and the meds were ready- I got half way home and received a call that they sent THE WRONG MEDICATION for my kid!!!!! Had to go back and rectify the situation. But sending adult medication that is wrong home with me for a CHILD is criminal. Will never use CVS again. read more

This is solely related to management/corporate, it's ridiculous that you Rey upon self service kiosks, half of which never work, and that constantly need attention from staff that you fail to provide. The staff here is all extremely friendly and polite. This CVS also has an amazing sale on Cadbury Mini Eggs ahead of Easter. CVS has a wide range of products that never fail to impress me when I visit. Definitely one of my go to place for toiletries, they have an impressive selection for me to choose from. The cashiers are all friendly, and make more interesting small talk than most. I had a good conversation with Terry about payment technologies. They use the credit card chip method to pay, instead of the magnetic strips, which is overall more safe. I'm very impressed with Terry's extensive knowledge on Apple Pay, Samsung pay, and credit cards. Overall, this CVS is one of the best in the area! read more

I am so glad that I don't need to go to this pharmacy often. What a disaster! And I'm not talking about the pharmacists. I had 3 new prescriptions called in today. When I arrived, 2 were ready, one needed to be assembled. I was told the wait would be 15 minutes. 45 minutes later I went to the counter to ask what was going on and for the Good RX discount. Good Rx discount had to be done at the drop off counter! They were called in, not dropped off! So back they went to the area behind the counter to print out new bills. Then I waited another 30 minutes and went up to the counter again telling the cashier that I was very sick and lightheaded-- where are my prescriptions? Lo and behold, they were sitting there behind her in a basket for who knows how long? . No one asked me if a wanted a pharmacist counsel. I did, But wanted to get the hell out of there. Maybe the pharmacy manager should look into these issues of very poor service. And people reading this, CVS will never tell you about the Good Rx discount. It was significant! Cynthia is the best and provides excellent customer service. There was a curfew so all businesses were closing early due to protest. With 2 minutes left before the store closed she showed me exactly where to find calamine and made sure I could find it when it was very tough to find hidden in a corner. She was also super friendly while doing so. She is the best! read more

I have lived in PV for over 40 years and have always loved this CVS/Longs. It's a great local drug store. The people are always nice and helpful, and that helps with the small town feel. They've modernized it with self-checkout and new fixtures but it still has the same hometown feel. I've seen so many businesses here come and go, but it's nice to see CVS/Longs hang around. read more
