Avoid Nermen at the pharmacy! She is racist and refused to help my mother when she went to pick up her prescription this morning. Despite my mother being latin and speaking English, nermen kept telling her she didn't speak Spanish. The manager in charge kept making excuses for her saying she was new. She is not new, she was transferred to this store. If someone does not want to attend everyone no matter what color or race, they should NOT be working there. We've becoming to this location for over 10+ years and found this behavior appalling. I hope the community sees this and is aware of this woman's behavior which should not be accepted in any customer service role. read more

They interact with people like they're just a number, not a human; They don't give you the courtesy of even looking at you while they are speaking to you because they prioritize their computer work over customers right in front of them. Virginia is definitely the worst of the bunch, very rude and extremely unhelpful-- almost to the point where you would think she's actually trying to get rid of customers instead of actually helping them. I get a COVID was a hard time for everyone in healthcare, but I am a nurse so I don't excuse this type of behavior when people are obviously coming to the pharmacy for their health. So my family and I have lived within a couple blocks of this Branham CVS for 14 years. We have used them mostly due to convenience. We have had our ongoing frustrations with their pharmacy off and on during this time. BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! There have been a couple of bad actors that thankfully are gone. BUT THE ONE CONSTANT BAD ACTOR IS THE PHARMACIST JENNIFER!! She is as arrogant and uninformed as they come. She is flat rude. She must have such low self esteem to think she can exert her own personal little "power trips" on customers, that she forms her own judgments about based on their medications. Meanwhile, she knows nothing of our personal health issues and why we ARE PRESCRIBED BY ACTUAL DOCTORS the medications that unless unlawful, IS HER DUTY TO SIMPLY FILL! Tired of her giving her petty little lectures, or holding up dispensing the medications. my wife and I have complained to the store management about her more than once only to have it fall on deaf ears. So shame on you CVS management! Shame on you. And as I personally manage Medtech professionals with far more education and income than these people, Jennifer included, I am more than qualified to make this assessment. You arrogant managers, and little Jennifer, clearly have lost sight of who the customers are that keep you in business. Well guess what? I have initiated my progressive complete withdrawal of all my monthly medications from this store and will not be going to another CVS. SO MANY BETTER OPTIONS! On a wierd Saturday where we found ourselves seeking purified water we came about the Glacier water machine outside this CVS. It did us dirty in two different and deceiving ways. One, it took both our quarters and gave no water. Two, it promises "crisp" and "great tasing" water but dispensed to use a water that was 3/10. As much as I had faith in the 35 cents it was asking for a gallon of water, it left me to feel unfulfilled and thirsty. read more

Made an appointment to get my flu shot online yesterday. When I arrived for my appointment today they said that the pharmacist had just left for her 30-minute break. I confirmed that they knew about my appointment before she took her break. Apparently things had gotten busy and that my appointment time was the first time she was able to take her break. I understand but that's not my problem. My problem is that I planned my day around getting to CVS on time for my appointment only to be told that I have to wait half an hour because the pharmacist left even though she knew about my appointment. This isn't my first HORRIBLE experience at this specific pharmacy. There are a countless number of times where I've walked out without my medication.....after leaving my doctors office I brought a prescription here to be filed. The lady said there would be no issue getting this specific prescription. Later she calls me to tell me she can't fill it due to a "different pen being used on the prescription". I told her to call my doctor or see if she can get a new prescription faxed since this is such a huge problem. I called my doctor myself, and he himself said she was being difficult and this should have never been an issue. Later, I went to a different pharmacy and got my meds within 20 minutes. Never coming here again. I prefer independent pharmacy's than huge chains anyways. Customer service is trash and everyone here is also very rude. read more

I believe that Yelp should revise their review system and have negative stars. They would be very useful in reviewing the CVS Drug store on Branham Lane in San Jose. On April the 29th and 1PM I picked-up a couple of prescriptions in the pharmacy and Jennifer was very nice and accommodating as usual. On my way to the front of the store I gathered a few more Items I needed and approached the checkout area where 2 female employees were standing with no customers. One was in the customer service area, who later identified herself as Mel "the store manager" and the other at the first check-out stand I believe she identified herself as Cynthia. I asked who would be checking me out. Cynthia asked how I was going to pay,"cash or credit" which seemed a little strange. I answered it depends on how much it came to. I was ready to put the items down that were about to fall out of my arms on her check stand when she started walking towards the self-check out. I asked if she could just ring up my stuff at the register she had been standing at, to which she answered that the management wanted the customers to use the self-check out and kept walking to the self-checkout area. I told her I know how to use self-checkout, I have used it before and I didn't need a lesson. She then said for me to bring my items to self-check out and she would check it out there for me. At this point I have to admit I was getting a little stressed out. I went over to the self-check out and dumped my stuff in a red basket next to the scanner which seemed to put her over the edge. After that and a lot attitude from her we ended up back over to the register I started at. It seemed to be a personal vendetta for her that I didn't want to use the self check-out. Some where along the way Mel joined in and it was like a tag team on the old man. Humiliated, antagonized, verbally attacked and shown a total lack of customer service or pride in their jobs. Both employees said more than once, "no matter what I told CVS management or the corporate office they would both lie about the altercation. They also refused to write down their names or let me use a pen to do so. It amazes me why the so called store manager didn't just step in and check me out in stead of letting the entire situation escalate. I will find out on Monday when I call CVS corporate customer service if they are so big they don't need to care about image, customer service or how CVS customers are treated. read more

Pharmacist Jennifer is so unbelievably rude. The last two encounters I have had with her have been so disrespectful. Her demeanor and tone is that she thinks she is better than everyone else. She talks down to you and makes you feel stupid. I was picking up my mom's medication and honestly I'm not sure which one I was picking up since she just had surgery and has been getting a lot of meds. Well when Jennifer had to talk to me about one of the medications and why I couldn't pick it up at that time she never once mentioned the name of the medication so when I asked her why I couldn't pick up the medication that day but had to wait a few days. She furrowed her eyebrows at me and snappily explained its because its a pain medication. So I left and went to go pick up the medicine today when she told me I could pick it up. There was an issue that they close from 1:30-2:00 for lunch. Well even though we were notified a few days ago that her prescription was ready for pick up, it actually wasn't ready amd they were discussing if they were going to fill it before or after lunch. So I asked why the pharmacy tech why it wasn't ready when it was before. Well Jennifer then chimed in rudely saying "it wasn't ready its never been ready". She has truly made me incredibly uncomfortable and upset about this whole location. read more

Went to drop off unused meds, a box of used sharps in approved box and unused sharps, still sealed/packaged. The sharps bin was full, pharmacy staff just laughed at me when I asked them if they could help. I also asked if I could leave them with them, which I get why they can't but again they just laughed and left me to walk away. At the very least they could have said something, anything at all, they could have offered to try other stores, the postage containers for sharps etc but instead they only laughed and tried to humiliate me for trying to do the right thing. read more

This is my go to store and especially for the pharmacy. Been coming here for over 10yrs now. I'm not sure if they got new staff for the pharmacy or what. I called a few times for refills for my grandmothers prescription and they are rude. The only good thing is there's usually no wait time. Just wished their attitudes would be different. I even had the guy hang up on me because I didn't have the phone number and fax of Valley medical hospital pharmacy I was trying to get prescription transfer from. I see a lot of reviews regarding the pharmacy and I know why now . I am regular customer who enjoys couponing and I go with my aunt and my mother in law all the time with no issues. One day all three of us are in line with our coupons and this lady behind us had a few things in her hand and what we usually do if someone is behind us we let them go in front of us because we know it takes a while to check out especially with coupons. So I told my mother in law that we should let this lady go in front of us but then the lady started having an attitude because we had so much in our cart and we were using coupons and taking too long. So she goes to self checkout and she was having issues with the machine and then turns around and looks at us because she's upset and can't purchase her items and the cashiers were helping us instead of her and another customer was having the same issue with the machine and getting frustrated and they both laughed and looked at us . The lady got so frustrated that she said out loud "this is ridiculous " no lady what's ridiculous is your attitude and then she left her items and left and the other customer who she was laughing with did the same . My mother in law noticed her lab jacket and when I went the next time to cvs I saw her picture and she is the Pharmacy Manager and I now knew that she worked there . Her attitude was nasty and acted as if she was better than us . Horrible lady I would recommend to go elsewhere she should be fired ! read more

Apparently oxycodone is not well-stocked (dammit, drug seekers). I went to two other pharmacies before finding it in stock at this one. I was a bit panicked as my mom had just gotten out of the hospital after major surgery, and by the time we got done with all the paperwork and got her home, I only had about 45 minutes to fill her pain med before she was due for her next dose. Since I inherited my poor pain tolerance from her (a paper cut is a 4 on the pain scale for me...), I wanted to make sure her pain was controlled. They told me that it's standard to take an hour to fill this med, but they would try to fill is as soon as possible given my situation. I was out of there in less than 10 minutes! Thank you, CVS pharmacy, for making this rough time a little better for my family. read more

I came here for passport photos for a visa application and was in and out in under 10 minutes. A set of two photos was $13 and some change, tax included. They won't let you see the photo before they print, so be sure to ask if you care to. I believe I saw the associate playing with the lighting on the photo, but she was probably doing an auto adjust. There is no heavy duty photoshopping, so don't expect to get magazine quality pictures! read more

This CVS Store #9901 is located in the corner near Branham Post Office and Kragen O'Riley Auto Center with a large car park. Service is prompt and the store looks cheery inside vs. Rite Aid of old. If your looking for pharmaceutical items, knick-knacks and don't like the dreary aisles of Walgreens, No drive up pharmacy though. Try a CVS. It's a brighter store with wider aisles, plus they have a nice discount program if you sign up with money off coupons and cash back. CVS also carries a nice range of snack items (potato chips, nuts, drinks, ice cream, etc) so if you need something salty or sweet this is your stop. This store also had a photo studio to develop your prints or get passport photo's if you don't want to pop in the post office next door. 4 stars read more

This CVS is not the best modern day pharmacy you will go to, but these days all pharmacies are not much more than 7-Eleven on steroids. I really like CVS on the East Coast (Boston Area to be specific). My local CVS is nothing spectacular, but not bad either. I liked it better when it was Longs. However, it is clean, has the normal food, and other trinkets that I have come to expect from a CVS. As far as the Pharmacy goes, I have never had anything but a positive experience. The staff is friendly and never takes too long to fill my prescriptions. My one nit is that I bought a gallon of milk that had gone sour. The date was well within the range, but it had obviously been left out too long before being put in the cooler. I have seen dairy items left outside the cooler one other trips with no stock person anywhere near. I love Sierra Nevada and 12-pack is on sale her for $11.99 quite often! Normally $16.99 at Safeway or BevMo. Yee-haa! read more

So for Christmas I get a bottle of cologne that I don't really care for. It was bought at CVS. I don't have the receipt (obviously because it was a Xmas gift and why save a receipt from CVS. My mother-in-law bought the cologne and told me where she purchased it). So I go in and speak to the so called Assistant Manager (Daniel) who tells me it is their store policy that they can't take cologne back without a receipt. I ask him to show me where it says this (on a receipt or by the cologne area). Of course, he tells me they don't have that written down anywhere or posted, it is just their policy. He refers me to a Store Manager (Align) who does not come in until Monday. Ridiculous!!! That is the problem with CVS, they have a kid that is given the title as Assistant Manager that can't make a decision. You would think customer service would prevail over a so called store policy that is not posted or told to anyone. I guess that is why the store is always empty. read more

Prices at this CVS (and probably others as well) are high for regularly priced merchandise, but sale items are quite affordable. The key to getting the most value out of your trips to CVS is to scour the weekly ad in the Sunday paper before heading to the store. Be sure to apply for CVS membership to take advantage of all sale items and to receive special offers sent via email. Availability of sale items can be an issue on occasion. Deeply discounted sale items will fly off the shelf, and that is understandable, but the problem is exacerbated by CVS' tendency to limit the shelf space for individual items. For example, there might be only a single row of 3 mayonnaise jars. On the plus side, the staff is warm and welcoming. I'm often greeted when entering the store and am asked whether I need assistance. Another positive -- parking is generous. In fact, much of the parking lot is vacant nearly all the time. When all is said and done, I'm not absolutely ecstatic about the shopping experience at CVS, but neither am I totally disappointed, considering the store is just one of hundreds in a huge chain. read more

I didn't realize how excellent and efficient the Pharmacy here was until I moved to a new area in San Jose. See my soon to come review for the CVS Pharmacy at 1720 S. Bascom, man what a stark contrast... I can't remember one time I had a problem at this pharmacy or one time when they didn't have my prescription ready when promised in my 5 years as a customer. At the Branham pharmacy its been mostly the same team for at least 3 years and they seem to have it down. Even if there's 4 very elderly folks in front of you that are slower than a tortoise, somehow you are moved through quite quick. Second, even when you walk in to drop and wait, if they say 10 minutes it's 10 minutes or less! This is assuming YOU have everything on your end right. Sadly I miss this place, but I will tell you, given my experience at several other locations perhaps I will start driving an extra 10 minutes and still get served faster and/or my prescription will be ready after they've had 4 hours to prepare it!.. Sheesh. Hey!, CVS corporate! Study this place and whatever they are doing, start implementing it elsewhere or I'm switching... I digress. read more

Running out of patience with 2 individuals in the pharmacy. Both have clearly lost sight of who is the customer, customer service, and customer courtesy. First, the entire pharmacy is not at fault here. Just 2 specific individuals: Soo and the pharmacist Jennifer. Jennifer seems to think she is somehow superior to her customers and holds s rude and condescending tone that is completely unacceptable. She has no clue of who she addressing with her attitude. The other main pharmacist Tu is outstanding for the record. Soo's attitude is likely cultural and people can work around her. Jennifer on the other hand is a problem. CVS would be best served to remove her. She is not doing anyone any favors in her role. She works for a business that we as customers pay who then pays her salary. We are not indebted to her in any manner and yet her behavior suggests we are. Fed up. Seriously thinking of pulling all my family's prescription from this store as a result. Really a mystery as to how she calculates who she is superior to. Until she is removed, I cannot recommend this pharmacy. read more

Ok where do I start. This place is the most irresponsible place when it comes to your prescriptions. One incident they refused to explain why a prescription that was pre-approved by our insurance cost $130. We had to call the insurance company to find this out. Th pharmacy said it was flat out not approved by our insurance. We knew this was not right and when we called the insurance they explained it was a deductible. That was only first incident. A couple of days ago I filled 3 prescriptions there, they asked if we could come back in a hour because the pharmacist was going out to lunch. We came back 6 hours later just to find out that the only filled 2 out of the 3 prescriptions because they lost one. We had to yell at them just to get them to look for it and then finally find it and expect us to wait forever while they fill it. Um no, they had 6 hours to fill it. Today I decided id had enough with their crap customer service, their inability to handle a line, and their inability to keep track of prescriptions. I called Costco and told them I wanted to have them switched over. I have them all the RX numbers and the location they were at. They call me later to tell me that CVS has yet again lost the same medication they did earlier. I called them yelling telling them I need a refill on it and they need to find it. The guy looks in the system and it is mysteriously there. They have no right to hold my medications hostage at their pharmacy. There are so many pharmacies out there DO NOT bother with this one. Everytime you go there expect some kind of issue. I have never had one smooth transaction with them before. BEWARE! Once you leave there you will need to go back to your doctor for migraine medication because all the cause is a headache. read more

What has happened to this store? The customer service has gotten really bad. I actually use to like to shop here until today. I waited at the photo counter for 10 minutes then when someone helped me they told me they did not have my order and sent me to the store on Meridian. I went home and found my order confirmation and when I called them they kept me on hold for 25 minutes so I drove to the store as I got there the girl was just answering the phone. Even with the proper paperwork they still did not find my order. It gets worse from here but bottom line they handed me my money without concern or apology even after I told them I was upset that I had ordered on a special and could not get the deal for a repeat order. I told them that I had been treated poorly and would Yelp and call Corporate about their poor service. This time again no apologies or concern. Well let me tell you there is a number on the website that you can call and complain to the Regional and District Managers. There WILL be an investigation! Be proactive and don't let poor customer service ruin your day. Also their Easter decorations and toys are only 50% off but at the Meridian and Branham store they are 75% off. I just want to say, this was THE best customer service I have ever experienced when it comes to pharmacies! The two female staff members that attended to me could teach the rest of San Jose's pharmaceutical staff a thing or two about taking care of a client. I arrived at 3 pm and the girl wearing glasses was busy working on something but she saw me in line and immediately greeted me and said she would be right with me. And guess what, she meant it! In less than one minute later she apologized for the "delay" (a few minutes ago I had waited 20 minutes at a Walgreen's while the pharmacist ignored me). She quickly filled my order and had another sweet pharmacist do the consulting. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes! Simply the best ever! Thank you! read more

I come here often, it's a hit and miss with customer service. Sometimes the cashiers are friendly other times they seem bothered that you are there. Worst customer service I've ever seen. When I walked in the store I saw an older very well dressed gentleman asking the manager a question only for the manager to completely brush him off and mumble under his breath "I can't f*cking understand him" as him and another employee laughed in the customer's face. I just happened to be behind the older well dressed gentleman in line to pay. He spoke very decent English but it was clear that he was traveling and wasn't too clear on how the check out process worked. After ringing up his items he slid his chip card instead of inserting the card (a common mistake I make daily). The employee named Amanda yelled in a condescending way YOU HAVE TO INSERT IT. The man, flustered at this point, inserted his card as another employee in line joked and laughed at his confusion while she opened up her drink before paying for it and started drinking it with attitude. The man noticed this and embarrassed he removed his card too soon. The employee again in a condescending way said YOUR CARD WAS DECLINED two separate times. She shouted so loud that everyone was staring. How embarrassing especially because the man's card was not declined. He simply removed it too quickly because he did not understand the process and was being humiliated by all of the employees that worked there. When he left, the manager then seemed to condone the behavior of the two employees who treated this man so badly. I've never seen such rude, immature, unprofessional behavior. When I travel and am unaware of my surroundings I rely on kind employees around me to help me out, CVS failed this man in doing so. read more

Bait and switch. That is what this store excels at (if you think I shouldn't end this sentence with a preposition, you can add a descriptive cussword at the end). Today, it was the premier customer 25% coupon that would not work. I knew it would not work on sale items, but it did not work on regular priced items, either. When I asked the cashier why it wouldn't work, she threw up her hands as if to say, "Don't ask me - I'm stuck in this crummy job, and I don't know why the store plays this game, either." I have seen them pull this same nonsense on sweet, elderly ladies, big, burly men, and everyone else in between. I live two blocks from CVS, pass three of them on my way to and from work, but still go out of my way to shop at Walgreen's instead. When CVS was still Long's, I shopped there at least once a week. Now, forget it. There is not even a way to contact management and make a complaint on the weekends. Life is too short to go though this hassle with CVS and their BS again. read more
