Yeesh. Some of these reviews are scary. I had a different (positive) experience. I had a late ER visit which required medication at 9 PM on a Sunday. The hospital recommended this pharmacy and sent the prescription here. Within 30 minutes, I got a call that the medication wasn't in stock nor available for 4 more days. I chose to put the order on hold. A few minutes later, I changed my mind and went to the same pharmacy to request them to transfer the order to another store. The pharmacist who helped was incredibly kind and helpful. Literally had two physical phones up to his ear to contact other stores and ensure they had the item in stock. That level of service is really REALLY special. He could have easily just redirected me somewhere else (16 miles away) and made it someone else's issue to deal with but instead, he chose to do the right thing and make sure what I needed was there before I left. To me, that shows integrity and commitment to work. Yes, the area is a little sketch. Yes, the parking lot has a lot of trash. Yes, the wait times can be a little long. But the customer service is top notch. I'd come back if I needed 24/7 medication in the future. read more

We had to go to this Walgreens because our regular location didn't have the medication I needed, in stock. Calling this pharmacy to speak to anyone is useless. They do not answer the phone. I called and was on hold for over an hour and nobody answered the phone. We even drove to the pharmacy, got in line and made it to the front counter and still nobody answered and you couldn't hear any phones ringing in the pharmacy either. I asked the pharmacy tech why nobody is answering the phones and he said they were too busy. What!?!? How on earth are you supposed to reach the pharmacist if you have a question. This is totally unacceptable. There were 5 employees back in the pharmacy and not one could answer the phone? I'll be reaching out to corporate to express my frustrations with Walgreens pharmacy practices of never answering the phones. Do better Walgreens!! read more

We needed a passport photo for our toddler but stood in line for about 10 minutes. There was another family waiting in front of us. The guy at the counter was on the phone the entire time. He didn't ask us to wait. Or call for help. Finally someone else came but again no one spoke to anyone in line. When it was our turn they told us our toddler had a white shirt on and they couldn't do a passport photo due to the same color background. I was in town for a funeral so I requested my out-of-state pharmacy to transfer my antibiotics to this Walgreens location on a Monday. My condition was getting worse so I decided to ask about the status only to be told they don't see a request & it may take up to 2 days to process. I call Thursday to inquire about the status & was then told it could take 3 days to process. It is now Sunday & my stay in San Jose has ended & I have yet to hear from the Walgreens pharmacy. The competency & efficiency seems to be non-existent. The pharmacy is open 24 hours and yet they only had one person working the counter & another working the drive-thru while a long line of customers waited to be helped. I definitely do not recommend this Walgreens pharmacy & will avoid it at all costs in the future. read more

If you're ever in need of a 24hr drug store this is the one to go to! They even have a drive through which is what I used. Can't beat that in terms of convenience! The clerk at the front is either awful or incompetent, or both. I came for an order pickup and saw a stuffie on sale for half off. It was right at the cashier marked "Hello Kitty Squishmallow $12.50". So I added it to my order. He rang me up for the full price but I didn't notice until I looked at the receipt. So I asked him to adjust the price. Without even asking, he issued me store credit, followed by a half hearted "Sorry, that regular price." I showed him the sign right in front of him but he said it's not true. I said I'd prefer the money returned to my account and he said that's not possible. When I went back to my car, I looked up both online. The exact toy WAS indeed $12.50. And Walgreens DOES issue full refunds with a receipt, which clearly we had. This is by far the worst pharmacy ever. I have two Rxs that're sold pre-packaged and they can't even get that on time. One of them is insanely expensive. I will never go back to Walgreens unless I have to have something after hours and need it immediately. I transferred all my prescriptions to Amazon Pharmacy. Ordering is easy there, it comes on time and I don't have to wait in insanely long times, and as a bonus, it's a little cheaper. I am beyond done with them. read more

THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG MEDICATION! I spent a total of over 90 minutes over two days at this pharmacy trying to pick up my daughter's medication. Not only did they not tell me the first 2 times I was there (went a total of 3 times) that they didn't even have the right med, they gave me the WRONG MEDICATION! Thank goodness I checked the med before I walked out of the store! When I confronted them with the mistake the staff didn't believe me until I showed them a screenshot of the prescription that the doctor (thankfully) sent me. I've lived in the neighborhood for 6 years and every single interaction/transaction at this store has been horrible. Statistically you'd think they could do something right even one time. Most recently I had a prescription sent here because the pharmacy is open 24 hours, but they sent it back without notifying me or contacting me. I tried calling them and got in an AI loop where it kept asking me for my birthday. Then I was put on hold indefinitely. I went in the next day and they said they send the meds back. I requested for my prescription to be transferred to CVS but Walgreens never did their part to send the prescription over, so basically I never got my medicine. It's not a one-off experience. I've tried many times, but this store and every aspect of it is tragically terrible. I'm never going back. read more

Did not deliver on my custom card. Cancelled my Father's Day order without explanation. Management never came to talk to me. I waited in the store for 30 mins, so I could order at a different location if lack of supplies was an issue. There was no resolution, just avoidance. They need better management or more staff. If I could give this store 0 stars I would. We went on Christmas Eve to get our 3 year olds medication. We were lied to about the insurance company requiring a pre authorization. I paid out of pocket and when I called to speak to the store to tell the tech lied to me they said I could get reimbursed through my insurance company. Even though my insurance company didn't require on in the first place they wanted me to get my money back from them when their tech lied. I was also told that his steroid had to be ordered and it would come Friday and I called today which is Sunday and they never ordered the medicine in the first place. I get they are busy and underpaid and understaffed but this goes beyond horrible customer service when you are lying to the customers. It's know been 5 days and my son still doesn't have his other medicine. On top of that they tried to tell me they couldn't see the pre authorization once the prescription is filled. This poor store. The customers are so RUDE. they treat the workers bad and harass and cuss at them. Lots of gang member go to the store to bully, intimidate, and threaten the workers. Customers are scared to leave the store and go to their cars. Five stars for the workers who work hard and do their best even though they go through all that. read more

I called to get my medication refilled and they said it was refilled in Bakersfield and they could do nothing about it. I called ahead of time to make sure the rx is ready for pickup bc after being in ER with my mom all day I didn't want to show up just to find out they don't have the medication. They assured me the RX is ready for pickup. I drive all the way to the pharmacy at 11 pm and they said the RX is not ready and won't be ready until Monday. This pharmacy has been the worst experience I've ever had. I had a transfer prescription from Rite Aid to this pharmacy, and when I called them twice on different days, they told me to give us 24 to 72 hours. After three days, I noticed they hadn't done anything. I was on hold for over 45 minutes when someone finally answered and told me to please wait. After another 30 minutes, I was transferred to someone else, but no one picked up the phone. I wouldn't recommend this pharmacy at all. Why does the drive thru line take so long? I've been here 20 minutes and it hasn't moved!

Wish I could put 0 stars for the pharmacy at this Walgreens. I've been picking up prescriptions at this location for 13 years and they've gotten slower and slower and slower at doing anything. They are so insanely understaffed. I wait in line for anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes to simply pick up a prescription, drive through or in store. Drive through often has no one at the window and I'll have to wait many minutes before someone notices. Once I waited in line for over 25 minutes in the evening in store only to be told when I got to the counter that the pharmacist was on break and they couldn't issue any prescriptions during that half hour. Like they couldn't have made a loud announcement to the dozen of us in line so we could choose to not waste our time. This happened more than once to me and to my husband. Yesterday was the last straw. My provider sent in a prescription 9 days ago that they STILL hadn't filled as of yesterday. So I called to ask why and was transferred to whoever packs the prescriptions but it turns out I was on a never ending hold. Twice someone picked up to tell me how many callers were ahead of me: first they said 7, then the next time (20 minutes later) it was now 15 people ahead of me -- that's right, the line in front of me (on hold) somehow got longer. Finally after 50 minutes it rang and rang and rang and then the system kicked me off and I never spoke to a person. I called back twice yesterday afternoon only to be sent to the never ending hold and eventually the system kicked me off again. If you want to be able to communicate with your pharmacy, or not have to wait forever in line or on hold, DO NOT use this Walgreens pharmacy! I just transferred all my prescriptions to CVS across the street and would you look at that, they filled my prescription in less than 24 hours. Something Walgreens wasn't going to do for me till next week (which would have been 2 weeks after my provider sent it in -- absolutely unacceptable). read more

Walgreens sent an automated text message that they received my child prescription at 9am. I reply back with in minutes to get it ready. I arrive to the pharmacy at 5:30pm wait in a 30-40 min line, get to the front the the girl working behind the counter tells me they aren't working on my child's prescription. I state that I replied at 9 am this morning to get it ready, she proceeded to reply that they have 100 prescriptions to fill in front of mine and then I could come back around eight or 9 PM this evening. I asked her how will I know if the medication is ready since, Walgreens did not receive my text messages stating to start the order. her Smart answer was we Will tell you when it's ready to come. Horrible customer service and lack of professionalism. If the pharmacy is so understaffed that they cannot fill prescriptions that were placed at 9 AM in the morning they should consider hiring more people or closing down. ***update it's not 8:21pm I called to check on my prescription and the employee told me they are out of stock on the pharmacy side and that maybe the store has it on their side. The location is neat and clean. No public bathroom. They still have their photo center unlike most location. The pharmacy is VERY BUSY. The staffs are generally great, knowledgeable and helpful but they are extremely slow. If you can, skip the drive thru pharmacy and get inside and get in line as customers in person get prioritized according to the pharmacist I've spoken to. On average, I'm waiting in the drive thru line for 15-20 minutes with 3-4 cars in front of me (that's around 2pm as well, so if you come during lunch hours or rush hours, prepare to wait longer). read more

Placed an online order and was sent an email saying it was delayed. Decided to call the store after almost two hours and spoke to a male employee that said he would fill the order, and to come on in. Five minutes later I received a text saying the order was canceled. Very unprofessional and wasted two hours of my time. I wish they would have cancelled the order during the first hour so i could have made other arrangements. read more

The good: They have a separated patient health room for privacy for vaccines. Some pharmacies only have curtains that barley protect your privacy at all. The bad: I'm a pharmacist and I've worked at a Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS and multiple small retail pharmacies as well as other pharmacy settings in California, Colorado and New York. My mom's a pharmacist as well. I know how pharmacies work. I know this is the most stressful time in the pharmacy world. And retail pharmacists get underpaid (especially here). Its a grueling and tough job and people get little respect. That said, I was still highly disappointed by my visit. My 100+ year old grandma had a cough prescription called in by the doctor. My mom came to pick it up and they said they didn't receive it. She had to come back and ask again and remind them it was called in, not electronically prescribed (not sure why they didn't check). They found it. They said it'd be ready in two hours and they'd text us. Over four hours later I came to pick it up because my grandma was coughing a lot. I showed up and they said it wasn't ready. I said ok, make me a "waiter" then. As in, flag the prescription for the "waiter" basket and prioritize it along with other waiters (I could see the white "waiter" basket sitting on the wall). She asked the Asian male pharmacist and he said "no waiters today." I've never heard of such a thing in my entire pharmacy career. She said I could go home and they'd text me when it was ready. I asked for an estimated wait time and she said she didn't know. I know retail pharmacies are busy during these winter times (especially during covid) but that was really poor customer service. When I asked the female pharmacist if they could expedite the rx she said "there are other patients who are sick and old too. We can't promise any time frame. I don't know who promised you a time frame. We don't do that. We have over 200 rxs." Meanwhile, I hear the technician out front tell another man that his rx will be ready in 2 hours. There's apparently some miscommunication between the techs and pharmacists there. I've filled 800 scripts in a day as a sole pharmacist before and have felt stressed but I would never give such a non-empathetic answer to a patient's concern. Telling me that other folks are old and sick too is pretty unprofessional. After I told her I'd like to wait she said it'd be over an hour. I said - ok then I'll wait that hour+. She reminded me again it would take long and wanted to discourage me from staying but I had no time to waste going home again and coming back since I didn't live too close. The rx ended up being done in 10 min. There was also no appointments available for covid tests. This isn't as surprising. The woman at the drive thru told me to call and make an appointment by phone when I came in person. I asked if she could make an appointment for me and she said no. Fair enough. The reviews for this place are pretty rough, I guess people really don't like waiting for their prescriptions. Anywho, I don't think this place is egregiously bad, nor is it unusually good. It's a Walgreens, I can always find what I want, and the pharmacy has been generally good at filling orders quickly. One bit of advice - they do seem to prioritize the drive through over the in-store customers. If you want to save time maybe try that? Also, for some reason there is zero cell phone reception in this store. And they don't have wifi, of course. So if you're worried about the wait, I'd suggest downloading a game on your phone to kill some time. read more

This is absolutely the worst pharmacy I've ever encountered in my life. For a week straight, this pharmacy has caused issues with my prescription, had my doctor send in a new prescription, when I had a refill already authorized and then for three days said my prescription would be ready, and everytime I go they say it's out of stock and give me three tablets. The guy at the drive thru window lied and said it would be ready and 30 minutes and then denied ever telling me that. This pharmacy is awful and I will never send another prescription here again.
