I have been using this pharmacy for a long time with few issues. I really want them to succeed, because they are in walking distance from my house and it's a nice, large store with generally good stocking and friendly people. However, I'm old and wanted to get the new COVID vaccine recently. I got an appointment, showed up, and they refused the vaccine because I'm on Medicare. I called the pharmacist after and talked to her about it, and she started that they couldn't give me the vaccine because of my Medicare supplement. I pointed out that vaccines are part of normal Medicare and do not require a supplement, so it doesn't matter what supplement I have. She suggested I go to CVS, so I went to the one in Willow Glen and had a very nice experience. Now, I'm not even sure it's legal for them to refuse a vaccine for someone on "regular" Medicare (not "Medicare advantage," which I might understand), or if they have gotten into some anti-vax "MAHA" kick. But I want to warn my fellow older neighbors that this Walgreens seems to not be friendly to Medicare patients any more. Really a shame and very disappointing, but, outside of warning you, I don't know what can be done about this except take the little side trip to CVS. read more

Hello there! I wasn't feeling well so I used Walgreens app and paid for my RX, while I was going there anyway I ordered four bottles of orange juice! When I arrived the RX was ready, but the juice wasn't there! Another case of being understaffed! One clerk had to go bak and forth from the drive thru to the front counter! There's no place on the website that you can upload docs, etc. so you have to call and wait on hold for 45 minutes, then have the phone automatically hang up, you call bac, the same thing! People are friendly for the most part, store just needs an upgrade in customer service! read more

Walgreens is pretty consistent on how it presents its self in each location, however some locations are more stocked than others. I've noticed a trend of being low stocked on numerous items in fridge/freezers, over the counter drugs and some food items as well as paper goods. That said I also watch for their sales on certain items as I'm in their store pretty often. Their pharmacy is great. I especially love the drive up window when I don't want to get out of my car to grab a prescription. That said... anything needing an ID to pick up requires coming inside so be aware before you wait in line for drive through scripts. My overall like of Walgreens is great. read more

Walgreens sucks. I had to use the bathroom and they wouldn't just give me the code. They said they would get a worker on the walkie-talkie. I waited for 10 minutes. There was only two workers and all they had to do was give me a code I was going to look for a limited edition squishmallow but I couldn't even do that because I had to pee. Hard to understand how this business model can work for a pharmacy/drug store. There is no respect at all for patient privacy--the customer-facing person has a very loud voice, asks each customer which medication they want, then repeats it for all in the area. Likewise if there are any issues. Multiple people before me (getting different medications) were told, in the end, that their medication was out of stock and they should call tomorrow at 10 am to (maybe) get it filled...one person said they tried that but had been put on hold 40 minutes. The oft repeated response from Walgreens was, 'It is a popular medication and lots of people will be calling, so we might be out again if you don't call'. and wait. What happened to having a doctor call in a prescription to a pharmacy, which then lets you know when to pick it up? Again, these were *different* medications. Another person was told that their insurance would not cover their medication--even though they had talked to their insurance today and had been told by the Walgreens pharmacist to pick it up today. The pharmacist was 'in a meeting', so couldn't help, and the pharmacy attendant sent that customer away because they were 'unable to do anything'. I thought having a 24/7 pharmacy might be a good thing...but not like this! And, no, I did not get my 'popular' medication either. read more

Recent change in Pharmacy staff and you can tell. They are short with you, talk over you with an attitude. Pharmacy manager is on another level. Looks at you with an attitude and seem like when you ask a question or look up previous order it's like a burden for them to do their job and serve the community. read more

The Walgreens's pharmacy is the worst I ever had to deal with. The pharmacy staff seem to have a hard time finding my prescription. I have to wait in line for over half and hour and have to wait other 15 min for them to find prescriptions or find me in their system. The pharmacist is lazy (Pretty Indian lady) I asked her if she can transfer my prescription to a different Walgreens's because they were out of stocked. She denied my request and had me wait till Monday to call my doctor transfer my prescription. Going without my medication for 4 days is unnecessary. She has a poor attitude and not willing to hear me out, so she keep sending the poor staff to deal with me If I could give this Walgreens Pharmacy zero start. I don't recommend this location. No communication poor attitude unwilling to help and miss placing prescription!!!! read more

Really looking forward to the fact that this will be my last 20+ min hold on the phone, 30+ min waits in line, and attitude from the people working at pharmacy every time I come here to pick up my prescription. They also accidentally send your prescriptions to other locations and have no idea why. I just heard them say this to the gentleman in front of me. So after waiting in line, you have to hop back in your car and go to the other location. Unreal. The other location (on bird) is much friendlier and faster. There's always an issue with the pharmacy when I have medication sent here. It's always delayed or they don't even start working on it unless you call them (even though it's been e faxed by the Dr office) My poor son has to suffer and his symptoms are prolonged because there's a delay EVERY TIME! One example; he had an ear infection and it took them 3 days to fill his antibiotic so 3 extra days he had to be in pain... and thats after I had to call and be stern about it. This is regarding the terribly rude customer support I received yesterday morning. I went to this store to pick up an online order at the photo counter. The woman who helped me was very kind and I had no issues. I did some shopping and returned to the photo counter to see if I could do a return for a purchase for white out tape that I made at the Walgreens on Bird Ave two days ago. I had the receipt and the young man kindly told me that I could not do the return because the barcode scan showed the item had been returned. So I pulled it up on my phone with the barcode and again he said I couldn't return it for the same reason. So I asked for store credit and he told me that I'd have to go to the Walgreens on Bird to clear it up. As I headed back to my car, I realized that I could use the receipt from my online order because I bought the identical product in my order. (My daughter only needed one pack of the white out tape and this is the reason why I wanted to return other pack.) I headed back to the photo counter and before I could even open my mouth, I was firmly told that it would be impossible to do the return. His colleague, a young female clerk, was also adamant that I couldn't return the item. He said he already tried it and could not help me anymore. I pleaded that they be patient as I explained that I wanted to return the identical product from my online order. I was reprimanded me and he accused me of "fraud" because now I was trying to do the return with the receipt from my online purchase. Me: "What do you mean? I bought one at Bird and an identical one online. I swear that my daughter has the identical product." I asked to speak to the manager, but she was on her lunch break. They looked at the online receipt on my phone as I prove to them that this is an online order with a different order number. But they tell me that they can't return it because the online receipt displayed on my phone does display a barcode. So then I show them the QR code on my pick up order, but they tell me that I need a barcode. He asked to see the receipt from my in store purchase from Bird again, but I was so frustrated by their rude and insulting manner. I went back to my car and then called the Walgreens customer support who was able to assist me. Whether or not I could do the return is not why I'm writing such a negative review. It is because of the rude customer support I received. The customers within the store were there to witness it. I have been happy at other Walgreens stores, but I will not return to this store.e read more

Went here to get photos printed. The system had reset so I had to wait about 5 mins to turn on again, but that happens sometimes I guess. Then this machine requires you to plug in your phone. There wasn't an iPhone cable, so I had to wait for an employee to free up to get one. She was working with another customer who seemed to be getting frustrated because the system kept deleting her photos apparently, but I was not aware of the situation enough to determine if that was user error on her part, so that's neither here nor there. The system is clunky and annoying however, trying to select the correct size for a photo isn't difficult per se, but it didn't feel very intuitive. It at least gives you options to crop your images. But you also have to load all of your photos, instead of being able to choose which photos to upload. A 4x6 was $0.40, while a 5x7 jumped up to $2.99. The price difference seemed pretty ridiculous. Then I finally get to check out, after having to restart because my photo hadn't uploaded on iCloud yet (annoying). And it's a 30 minute wait to pick up my photos. Comparing all of these to a CVS, you get instant photos, from my memory it costs less (could be wrong, but worth it in any case since), there's no wait, and you can simply select your photos to upload. The system here is clunky, annoying, and more time consuming. The wait time has given me time to write this review; if you are considering a place to print photos, choose CVS. read more

The long waits to pick up prescriptions waste the customer's time. I got fed up so tried to transfer my prescription to another pharmacy. This Walgreen's claims they haven't gotten the transfer request. It's impossible for me to prove that them have received it but they are zero help in resolving the issue so it looks it's impossible for me to leave to as customer unless I go back to my doctor and ask for a new prescription. There should be law that makes transfer prescriptions easier so I can't be held hostage like this. Once I get this resolved, I'm done with Walgreens for good. read more

Nice Walgreens but disrespectful cashier. Fredy the cashier ringing my husband & I up was rude. First of all he was already upset & took it out on us by being rude & raising his voice saying & using hand motions saying "where is it then" asking for the register rewards coupon. We explained to him in English & then said it in Spanish as we noticed he also spoke Spanish making it easier to communicate our concern. Nonetheless, he continued to be rude so we decided to call the manager & she was very nice. Keep in mind that when Fredy was calling his manager he was still being rude & raised his voice at her as well. When checking out the coupons were still not manually applied & the manager was supervising telling him that HE forgot to manually insert it. After completing the transaction, he realized the problem was on his end and eased down his tone of voice. read more

The customer service of the people who service the pharmacy counter is horrible! The pharmacist (a young lady) who administered a vaccine was great! I stood in line (initially there was no one else in line) for what seemed like 30 minutes (may have been 20 minutes) while a young man and young lady pointedly avoided eye contact and ignored me, while walking back and forth behind the counter. At some point another customer came and stood next to me for a prescription pick up, she too was initially ignored. Eventually the young women behind the counter asked the customer next to me if she needed help, again ignoring me. Eventually and reluctantly the young man acknowledged I was there ( yet it appeared he wished I was not there) he seemed annoyed and bothered that he had to help me. These are not friendly or courteous people. read more

Stuck at the pharmacy for 3 hours trying to get my pain medication directly from surgery prescription was here and then was charged extra saying that my insurance didn't accept the injury date my doctor told him that the injury date was today the date of the surgery. Nonetheless ended up paying for it out of pocket after 3 hours of major surgery sitting here so please make sure that even if you call and make sure your prescriptions here call your insurance company because they're going to say something different when you arrive very very angry with the service I would never recommend coming back to this pharmacy. read more

This store is commonly referred to as "Wal-gross" in our neighborhood because the parking lot is disgusting-- there's always tons of trash everywhere and it smells like pee. People sleep in their cars (and on cardboard on the ground), get high in the parking lot, and loiter here all day long. The trash can out front is always over-flowing. My husband has caught people stealing from the store and tells the staff who do nothing (probably because they are too afraid). Definitely not a safe place to go. read more

Trying to phone AND GETTING THROUGH to the PHARMACY is often horrific. Many previous experiences with same theme. Last evening I tried to refill using their portal and no option to request refill for my prescription, ok, used phone tried to refill, no luck (you'll need to talk to a pharmacist says the automated attendant, but we're closed right now, so basically gotta call tomorrow!).....Today - Attempt 1 2:05 pm - on hold 12 minutes, I can hear them put me back on hold when it starts ringing (and you get excited thinking your going to get thru to a person) back on hold and call dropped at 12 minutes Attempt 2 4:26 pm - on hold 18 mins, same scenario of picking up and putting back on hold, call dropped at 18 mins Attempt 3 - on hold 12 mins, human picks up @ 4:56 pm on a Friday to tell me I need to call the Dr for refills! At 4:57 on a Friday! So no anti-inflammation meds for my severe arthritis this weekend, PAIN, so I will have to resort to pain killers NOT COOL! Forced to use narcotics for pain this weekend because their portal, phone refill system and humans in the pharmacy can't respond in a timely manner. WOW! My first 1 star review. I will be contacting management for the specific purpose of inserting myself into the pharmacy managers performance review process. read more

Do not order online for pick up here! Should be ready in two hours yet every order I make isn't ready until the next day! They also won't come deliver it to your car, you end up having to go in to pick it up. Might as well just go in an collect your items yourself. Most of the staff is nice. The outside of Walgreens is a disaster! Garbage and abandoned cars everywhere! Homeless are always seated at the entrance walkway. Other Walgreens in the area are much better than this one. read more

I booked a covid test on Tuesday, 3 days before my flight was scheduled on Friday (you need a covid test within 72 hours for some international flights). They lost my covid test and refused to do anything about it. If you have a time sensitive and critical covid test (for example, to get on a flight), I would go else where. read more

So like any other day I walked into Walgreens just to pick up a gift card. I was buying a $50 Amazon gift card. Pretty standard visit that should have been a walk-in walk-out quick and easy experience. It was the opposite of that First of all the only had one cashier open. There was a line and the cashier did seem like she was trying to get someone else's attention to help the line go through faster, but she didn't do anything to help the customer and speed up the process either. I can't really fault them for this though there was a decent amount of people at the store. It got really bad when I was trying to buy my gift card, buy insert my Chase Freedom Card and try to purchase my Amazon gift card like I always do. The employee then saw the signature screen and right when I was about to sign yelled at me and told me no we don't all out credit cards here for gift cards. I asked them why and she said that's just the way the rules are. She said that I needed to get cash out of the ATM. I said that is not an option as I wanted to use my credit card. I guess I should explain that the reason I was buying an Amazon gift card at Walgreens today was that Chase Freedom is running a 5% cashback promo at drugstores and I wanted to use that promo on Amazon gift cards so I can get 5% cash back through Amazon. A pretty standard procedure for someone like me who's trying to maximize my money. So pulling cash out of an ATM was not my goal today I actually do this all the time and have never had a problem before. The fact that the employee had the nerve to yell at me was pretty disgusting. She even told me to talk to the manager and I asked the manager why I couldn't use my card and she didn't give me a reason other than that's the rules. This store policy wasn't written down anywhere it's just made up apparently. Needless to say I left the store drove 1 mile to the Walgreens on Bird Avenue walked in bought an Amazon gift card on my Chase Freedom Card and walked out within 5 minutes. read more
