The pharmacy here is good. They dont take forever to fill your prescriptions and it opens late too.

2 stars out of 5 that explains why one should not waste time going here. They asked me to wait for 30 minutes for my medicine, after 15 mins they called me and said since you have five medicines it will take more time. I said how much more, they said 1.5 hours. Can't understand why 1.5 hours!!! Thank God I saved my time by deciding to go to some other store. Highly not advisable, choose CVS they are cheap and fast. read more

After eating some really bad seafood, La Novia was turning pink and breaking out in hives. I brought her here (since it is open 24-hours) to pick up some Claritin and InStyle magazine to cheer her up. But no there was no Harper's Bazaar in the magazine section. This review is for the pharmacy drive thru. We come here to fill our insulin and syringe Rx for our diabetic dog. 1. Almost every single time, they can't find my dog's info. We start with phone number. Can't find. We try name. Can't find. We try birthday. Can't find. We try phone number again. Miraculously find. 2. Every time we try to get syringes, unless our vet specifically calls it in, we have to buy a ten pack. They won't give us a hundred pack, which costs waaaay less per syringe, unless our vet calls it in each time. 3. Sometimes they still give us the wrong needle size. The long needles are more difficult to administer, and our pup makes these sad little yelps if we do it incorrectly. Poor dude. :( 4. When we do have an Rx for the needles, I have to wait "5 min" for her to pull the box off the shelf. But they won't let me wait that "5 min" in the drive thru. I have to turn around and get behind the whole line of cars behind me, and that 5 min becomes at least 20. 5. Last time I was getting the insulin, I went an hour and a half before closing, my bad. He told me to wait 45 min while he preps the insulin. So I waited in the parking lot 45 min. I came back, and he told me they were out of that insulin. And because they were about to close, I had to drive, now even later at night, to the nearest 24/hr Walgreens to see if they had it. 6. I wrote this whole review, in the "5 min" it takes them to pull a box of syringes off the shelf. read more

I stop here about 5 times a week. Like the other reviewers, I agree with the parking lot being a little shady. But seriously, we're in the Burbank, what ya want? There's almost always a homeless person hanging around, resting or asking for change. There is also almost always some organization asking for donations in front as well. But they have an electric car charger out front which I have only seen used twice. But still. Inside, they have a great selection and consistent too. Awesome sales, and great new reward program. And I love the clearance shelves. I could spend seriously hours in here. They have everything! And the best prices on Camel cigarettes, hands down. Customer service, I like every one that works here. Some, more than others. One girl, I have seen handle some of the most unsavory and rude of customers, with the greatest poise and tact. All while maintaining her composure when I surely would have lost my temper. And went to the next customer with such ease. She treats a huge line of faceless customers with grace and individuality. Never seeming robotic or bored. Kudos to finding such a diamond of a employee. PS... ashamed to admit I forget her name. Will edit later. read more

Clean inside, disgusting outside. Could you maybe power-wash your sidewalks once per year? And, would it kill someone to take the leaves and garbage out of the flower beds once a week or even once a month. If I were the store manager, I would take more pride in my location and take it upon myself to keep the outside clean if the corporate office doesn't. I find it interesting that Walgreens in Los Gatos, looks amazing inside and out all day. Time to clean it up!! read more

From my last Walgreens experience I decided to go to this one. Right away, you have bums hanging outside of the door and nasty ghetto people shopping around. This particular one is a lot nicer and bigger than other Walgreens. I came here to pick up my photos ordered online. At least they had a nice girl working there and my photos were ready with no problems. I'm torn between going to one that's ghetto or going to one where they can never get my photo order right. read more

Big chains are great because they provide a few key things: predictability, professional level marketing (eye catching setup, products I'll get tricked into wanting just because they're at eye level), cleanliness... you get the idea. So when I walk into a Walgreens I want a big chain experience. I don't want it smelling like crap, have the employees literally YELLING across the store in the most ghetto fabulous way you can imagine, and to have to patiently wait for two other employees to finish up their chat so I can ask where the essential oils are (there aren't any). Disappointment left and right! It's just THIS Walgreens that really sucks. Step it up, you're a chain, damnit! We went to pick up some pictures and the staff working there were rude and un-cooperative. They dismissed us and has us wait at least 15 minutes until we were even helped. It's ridiculous. Walgreens? More like Walgross. I'm appalled. The staff should seriously consider a bell. They were having a separate conversation(which has nothing to do with there jobs) instead of helping me. Not gonna lie, the people here are always SO nice! No matter what time of day, wether it's when I'm getting off work or late at night, the customer service here is better than even my local Walgreens! I had a friend from Chico come in with me once and he even said "Are the Walgreens in the Bay Area all this nice?" Sadly, no, but this one in particular is the best!! The beauty area lady is constantly in a happy mood and the older gentleman in the chair at the front register is also very nice (not sure if he works there anymore tho)! Flu shots - Pharmacy Review I really like this Walgreens because CVS failed in their flu shots dept. At least at Walgreens they were available when a flu shot was needed. Both my girlfriends needed flu shots because they love holding my baby and I needed them to be flu safe since they both go to SJSU. I paid for both and it only cost about 60.00. The pharmacist was friendly, efficient, and provided some instructions and we were in and out in less than 10 minutes. I also like this Walgreens because they are open 24 hrs for emergency formula and diapers and anything else including junk food for the hubby. :) read more

This review is specifically regarding the photo department of this Walgreens. I went there to have my passport photo taken, and before driving over I called and checked that they provided that service. Sarah promptly answered and gave me guidance on what to wear and what time to come in. When I arrived, she was friendly and professional, making me feel comfortable having my picture taken in public, something I was nervous about previously. The process was very quick and easy, and I walked out of there with results I love in less than 10 minutes. Walgreens, you're lucky to have her on your team! read more

I went to the drive through at about 2:30 pm on a Saturday. I waited for someone to come to the window for over 30 minutes. I know how busy they can get, since they cut the staff and shortened the hours. So I was patient. Because of an injury to my knee, I could not go inside. The line behind me got longer and longer and longer. Then some people backed out and drove away. Soon the line that had been almost circling the building was down to only 2 cars. I needed my prescription so I called the pharmacy and someone answered. I told them that I'd been waiting at the window for 30 minutes and they were finally able to help me on the phone. I find it very scary and completely unprofessional that this Walgreens pharmacy literally screws with your prescriptions. I've switched to the Walgreens in Santa Clara a few months ago and have had absolutely zero issues with getting my prescription where as this Walgreens would lie to me and tell me my dr didn't authorize it when they actually did and taking days to fill my prescription. I thought I was being paranoid but after a few nasty encounters of being told I had to call my dr and upon calling my dr being told it had been sent already I realized they were literally just putting me on the back burner. I've been to this walgreens a few times and never had any complaints. As a whole this is a good walgreens...this is strictly for the photo department.. Well today...this review is on behalf of my bf (who doesn't have an account on yelp)... He's a student in college who is currently taking a beginning photo class. It is time for his first assignment to be due and as a result of some technology issues with his professors computer. Long story short...he was told by his teacher to get the two digital photos printed out 8''x10" style. So why not do it at walgreens? Well both photos were taken with the same camera on the same day and both were photos of me. One was a great photo and the other was ok. They refused to print the good one. Their excuse was that the photo was too good and he had to show proof as a professional photographer (business card, sales tax papers, etc). He had his school ID and explained it was for school...but still wouldn't print the "professional" photo. They had no problem printing the bad one. Even after he explained that I was his gf and showed them photos of me on his phone...nope...still couldn't print it. Even the manager said no. So he pleasantly swore his way into being kicked out :) That's my boy haha. Well if they only want to print bad photos...then only take your bad photos to be printed here. :) read more

This Pharmacy is horrible. I've been here many times to refill my daughters medication. Today, they said my insurance rejected my daughters refill because the birthdate is not matching. WTF?! How does it all of a sudden not match. I told them multiple times are you sure and gave them my daughter birthdate. They said yes and told me to call my insurance! Btw I'm at the Pharmacy drive thru. Ugh. So I park and call my insurance. They said the pharmacy kept entering MY birthdate! After I asked them are you sure you have the right birthdate! Get your ish together! read more

so, one time i was at this walgreens and i reeeeeaaaalllly had to go pee. like really bad. i ask this worker if i can use the bathroom. she doesn't answer, just looks at me and sort of grunts then turns around and starts walking toward the restrooms. whatever, maybe she is having a bad day? but i gotta pee. now. she gets to the door and begins to put in the code, covering the key pad with her hand and giving me the side eye to be sure i can't see. Very disappointed I've never walked Into a walgreens with such bad customer service. I myself am a walgreens employee and am very shocked at how the clerks here have no customer service at all. I walked and made eye contact with a lady no greeting what so ever. We made our way to the back aisle stood there searching for an item while a young guy was fixing the merchandise didn't ask if we needed help didn't greet either. We walked by him on to try next aisle where another man was removing tags made eye contact and said not one word. We decided to just out the little we had collected back and head out as we're exiting there's a man by the door no greeting either we also made contact. No have a good night or anything of that sort. Won't be coming unless it's absolutely the only option I have. read more

The pharmacy here is absolutely ridiculous my mother had a kidney infection and the doctor prescribe some antibiotics. When my dad went to go pick up the anabiotic's for my mom they denied him the prescription because there is a note on file that she has an allergy to the medication. Why that is in her chart I have no idea but the doctors prescribed that medication for a specific reason and it is not their place to deny her her medication. Fast forward two days of my mom not having the medication and she had to go back in to the emergency room and be admitted into the hospital with severe kidney infection her fever was up to 107° and she was in so much pain my mom went back to find out what happened and they not only gave her attitude but tried to offer her something like a gift card to compensate her which is ridiculous my mom took it up to the highest level to see what can be done because as a pharmacy it's ridiculous that they put clients health at risk. For the record the doctor still prescribed That anabiotic's and it still something she should've had she does not have an allergy to it read more

Their photo department sucks! There is not connection with the on line service, so never trust the pick up time that shows on line. I gave them 4 opportunities and they failed every single time. Photos are NEVER ready on time, and the last time I even called ahead and still had to wait 20 minutes for my prints. Why do you offer a service that you can't keep up with??? read more

They sell ephedra!! I had no idea but they sell ephedra behind the counter. I loved that stuff when it was in Hydroxycut and Xenadrine. Generally, I stay clear of this place and probably would have given it one star because it's dirty as hell in here. But the sale of ephedra bumped them a few stars. read more

So bad, just really bad... This review is for the pharmacy specifically. I went to fill a prescription and chose Walgreens because they have a drive thru window and I have a toddler...one less in and out of the car seat for errands can be a great convenience and a timesaver. Or so I thought. There were only one or two cars in front of me when I went to drop off but it seemed to take forever. When I got to the window I understood why...not sure if the guy was new but I had to repeat everything several times for him and he seemed to be having difficulty finding/entering information on the computer. Then he told me they were really backed up and it would be 90 minutes to fill my prescription. I was disappointed but figured I could make a quick trip back right before my kid's bedtime. Ha! When I returned there was a long line, but I decided to wait since it is easier to control a toddler in a car seat than in a store. I also noticed several people had initially tried to pull into the drive thru behind me but then saw the line and went inside; those cars were still parked in the lot so my guess is that the inside line for the pharmacy was no better. After 35 minutes had passed and only 3 cars had been helped, I left. There was no way I was going to wait 40 more minutes for a prescription I could get transferred to a more competent pharmacy. They really need to figure out a better system for their pharmacy window or just get rid of it. It's not fast, not convenient, and thus totally defeats the purpose of a drive thru. I use to get my meds here for about 2 years. Only because it was close to my house. It was the last straw when I was on hold for 25 mins. with no one picking up the phone to check if I was still there. I ended up driving there (keep in mind I am still on hold.) I get there with 1 person in front of me and still on hold. The person that did finally help me was acting as if some just ran her puppy over and they called her into work. Then she tells me that my meds are not ready. What! Not ready? I called them in 2 days ago. Where is the store manager? She called him over the loud speaker. I think cold syrup was moving faster on a cold winter day, then he was. I say that because I had to go look for him. Once I did find him, I explained being on hold and my meds not being ready. He did apologize and rang me up. He said that he will see what is going on with the phones and that should never happens again. Besides that, there are just strange people in that store all of the time. Not matter what time it is. The homeless people in the parking lot 9 out of 10 time I have gone there. read more

The personnel is awful, unqualified and have absolutely no knowledge of anything beyond the selling grocery. I made a web order with delivery to this shop. They promised 3 business day delivery. After a week the tracking service displayed that order arrived and the customer service of the online orders confirmed it. Since I work till 7pm, I visited this place on my way to home. Surprisingly, nobody in the shop knows what is web order, where the delivered item is kept and even how to check the if it is here. The one thing I was told - call manager who works 8am-4pm and ask where is my item. Why this place is advertised as 24hr pharmacy if it becomes the grocery shop after 5pm? read more

This is a really great store, figuring that it is so close to campus. Maybe the previous reviewes were from people who don't live near SJSU. I personally DO, and find having a chain drugstore a nice convenience. San Jose State is located in a really ghetto area with tons of lame-o stores. Having a place where you can get stuff on sale, fresh, and close to campus is a heck-of a lot better than the mom-and-pop stores selling overpriced/knockoff stuff that has been sitting on the shelves for who-knows how long. Also, the people who work here are nice (although I have never dealt with the photo people)...sometimes they can be rude, but I mean c'mon -- they are working at Walgreens (not Google). To address the people who are criticizing this place for the lack of selection (mainly of magazines), this Walgreens is TINY so of course they aren't going to have as much selection as a larger Walgreens. I'm just grateful there is one at all -- There is a larger Walgreens opposite from campus from this one, but it is a bit of a farther walk and not near any other decent stores. :) read more
