I saw Dr. Jacqueline Cheng for microblading removal using Pico laser. The entire experience from start to finish, was professional, comfortable, and efficient. I had microblading done 5-6 years ago that never faded, and the lines had blurred. I have been to this practice 3 times; the first for a free consultation, again for a spot test to make sure that the ink actually lightened and didn't darken, and the third for the actual laser treatment. For the day of the actual treatment, I was in and out in under 30 minutes. They numbed my eyebrow with an ice cube to make sure that I was comfortable during the treatment, and talked me through what they were doing during the entire process. The results after one session were already very good and apparent, with the tattoo fading a lot (picture attached). I made a follow-up appointment for 3 months out, but the doctor mentioned that it should fade even more before then as my skin will naturally fade the ink. I would thoroughly recommend this practice for your tattoo/microblading removal. read more

I went in for a consultation with Theresa to see if I was a candidate to have my old eyebrow tattoo removed using the Pico Discovery laser. This is my third session so far, and I'll probably need one or two more to have them completely gone. The first session was about a 6/10 on the pain scale -- very tolerable. Theresa makes you feel super comfortable and numbs the area beforehand with an ice ball (which you even get to take home afterward!). My second appointment was definitely more painful, but that's because I was on antibiotics the week before -- I wouldn't recommend doing that since it made my skin more sensitive and swollen. By the third session, it wasn't painful at all and we were able to target the red and dark pigments, and I can't wait to see the final results! I highly recommend this place -- the staff are friendly, professional, and make you feel at ease the entire time. Just a quick tip: they do require half of the deposit upfront to book your appointment, and the remaining balance is due after your treatment. The results were so natural and satisfying so that I went back to him for more procedures: fat transfer to my forehead and cheeks, lower eyelid surgery, and also Vaserlipo with Renuvion to tighten the loose skin on my abdomen. May because I'm slim, the liposuction improvement wasn't very noticeable, but the skin tightening definitely was. I had a MINT thread lift done last November with Dr. Jacqueline Cheng, and she did a phenomenal job. Her expertise in the field is quite evident. She numbed my face really well with lidocaine, followed all safety protocols, even played music for me to relax my nerves, and I felt virtually no pain, other than the tugging. She had great artistry in sketching out the vectors and used a canula to insert the threads. I requested 12 on each side, but she managed to get 16 in and overdelivered. The downtime was virtually none, other than slightly redness and swelling on the day of and a snatched, tight, triangular face. The lifted effect was huge. Highly recommend this procedure for women in their 30s who have very minor sagging but could use a tiny lift. Dr. Cheng had great bedside manners, walked me through questions/concerns, and checked in with me regularly to handle a minor complication she took care of quickly. The result lasted for about ~6-9 months. The threads dissolved after about 3-4 months. I'm grateful for the experience and hope to get it done again soon! read more

I recently bit the bullet and decided to do something about the bags under my eyes. I have had them for decades, and although they were partially hidden by my glasses, they made me feel tired and old. I looked around for a highly rated plastic surgeon in my area (Redwood City) and found Cheng Plastic Surgery. As it turns out there are two Dr. Chengs (brother and sister) and Dr. Elbert Cheng (eye specialist) works from their offices in Saratoga. I was impressed both with the clarity and depth of my initial consultation and decided to move forward. The prep I had before the procedure (lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning and CO2 to lower eyelids) was intense; a lot of paperwork and some detailed instructions on how to prepare starting two weeks before the procedure, the day of, and the weeks following. Everything was clearly laid out, though, and I followed it all to the letter. It's seven weeks from the date of the surgery now, and I couldn't be happier. In fact, it seems like a minor miracle. Everything Dr. Cheng described as possible became a reality. And through it all, the office and surgical staff were there to support me. Dr. Elbert Cheng's bedside manner: 5/5 Talking to the front desk receptionist, however, is incredibly frustrating. I asked about a possible prescription for azelaic acid gel because I had forgotten to do so when I saw Dr. Cheng 2 weeks prior. I can understand not wanting to bother the physician while he is out-of-town, but I don't understand why a message can't be relayed when he returns 5 days later. It would be 3 weeks since I last saw him, and skin cell turnover generally takes longer than that. Not to mention that photos are taken of my skin every time I visit the office; so, someone looking at those photos could clearly see that I have acne and hyperpigmentation (aka, indications for azelaic acid). I've gone through med school and read the literature on azelaic acid in management of PIH, so I know what I'm asking for. What I don't need is someone who didn't recognize "azelaic acid" when I brought it up start pushing the "products they offer for hyperpigmentation". Sorry, but I think it's safe to say that I know more about inhibiting melanin production than that person does at this point. read more
