Decided to get a flu shot today. You can make your appointment online. I made mine for 2:30 PM. When I arrived 2:30 pm sharp, the pharmacist and everything was ready for me. The counterperson/tech was very polite and friendly. Pharmacist was very professional and had me sign or check off the usual disclaimers lol. This is the fourth injection I've had from this pharmacist, one of the nicest parts of it is I never actually feel the needle. She's really smooth. Today's day and age when you need the RSV vaccination, Covid vaccination, flu vaccination, hepatitis... So many vaccinations. It's nice to have a pharmacist that does it where you can't actually feel it lol Finally, you get a coupon to buy $20 worth of stuff for five dollars. That's just an extra bonus! This location is horrible. The pharmacist that took over is slow. When we arrived, there was no one in line. After 45 minutes waiting and a line that has now grown into five-people deep; the pharmacist announces she's going to lunch and will be back at two. She could've have told the people in line instead of letting them wait there. No customer service what -so-ever, she moves so slow and is the most inefficient pharmacist in this location I have encountered. CVS Pharmacy - The worst CVS pharmacist in the history of this CVS location - Drugstores Near Me - RENO, Nevada

Ever since Thomas left this place has been a hot mess. They were closed for four days with no notice. You couldn't get prescriptions transferred if they had filled them but also couldn't pick them up because they were closed so that was just awesome. I'm currently standing at the counter and have been for ten minutes to get no help. They might as well just shut this location down and direct people elsewhere at this point. Also I get that there is a staffing issue but dear god this new pharmacist has no people skills and won't let anyone ask anything without starting with "I'm only one person". My question had nothing to do with that so why are you saying it! You're just making people upset. I asked her if she had any idea how much longer it would be and she started berating me telling me I shouldn't ask questions and went on to say she just wasn't going to fill the prescription after mumbling the rudest things towards me. I'm gonna be honest. I wanted to cry. I was trying so hard to be understanding of the staffing shortage and she was absolutely awful. I live in Spanish Springs and I drive 25+ minutes just to pick up my medications from this CVS Pharmacy location. I have been to several other CVS Pharmacies and this location is the best. So what makes this location different from the rest? It's the friendliness and the staff actually doing what they're supposed to like: consulting me on my medications, medication reconciliation, calling before refilling a questionable item, and medication transfer from a different location. The staff here take the time to know you and really make sure you have what you need. The other locations I have been to have not refilled or called me back on a medication in a timely manner (3+ days with me calling them daily) and given me a new medication without giving me any kind of consult. Thomas and Christian the Pharmacist here are awesome! They take the time to answer all medication questions (even when they know I'm an RN). The staff here are always friendly, greets me by my name, and acknowledges me when I'm near the counter. I've also gotten a phone call to notify me if I happened to come by to the pharmacy during XYZ time frame that though the Pharmacy may look closed, someone will be in shortly because Thomas (the head Pharmacist) might be in the hospital because his wife is expecting. All in all, the 25+ minute drive to this Pharmacy is well worth it and I refuse to find another location unless they completely change staff. read more

Where are all the employees? We've used this pharmacy for years. There's been 1 person working for the past few weeks/months. She has zero customer service skills. I waited last week for 15 minutes and not once did she look up and acknowledge there were customers. Today I waited almost 30 minutes in line. 2 people were helped in that time and never did she say to the line "I'm alone here, sorry for the wait". Anything. We will switching pharmacies. read more

Avoid at all costs. The waits are obnoxious and there's only ever one pharmacist on duty. I'm very understanding of staffing shortages, so it appears as if this location is so unappealing to the good pharmacists that they can only employ the bottom of the barrel. It has made once enjoyable visits to target absolutely insufferable. I am leaving for a different pharmacy after years of coming to this location. read more

This used to be my pharmacy of choice now I am switching. They are always always slow...like epically slow. They never answer the phone-it is impossible to get anyone on the line. I've been so frustrated the past several times I've had to get a prescription filled that I have completely moved all of our reoccurring medications to Amazon. read more

Don't take your kid here for inoculations. In fact, don't go here, period. They will not tel you and allow an untrained "intern" administer the inoculations un-monitored and without training. They left a syringe hanging on my 10/yo daughters arm while the "tech" went to get the pharmacist (who was supposed to be monitoring the inexperienced trainee) because the tech did not clear the needle of air. She was forcing it to plunge until my wife nicely intervened. Furthermore, they allowed my wife who does not work for them administer the vaccine to my daughter which is completely unacceptable in any medical standards. The pharmacist admitted that the intern was inexperienced and lacked training. They have no policies in place to tell clients that it's an untrained intern that is going to be administering vaccines. Of all the Pharm joints, in all the towns, in all the world..how did I wind up at this one? Easy. I needed a flu shot. Was in Target last autumn, and a big sign at the door advertised 'Flu shots here, receive a $5. Target shopping card when you get the shot.' Done deal for me. Didn't realize it was a CVS at the time. DUH! Thought it was a target entity. The Pharmacist assistant, whom was very personable as are ALL the assistants, asked had I ever been there before? I replied no. she looked me up and LO, she says it looks like you may have used us recently and had all my info etc.. I was surprised and asked for an Alzheimers shot along with the Flu shot. The flu shot was done expertly and quickly! and yes, I did enjoy my free $5.00. Well, I exited the Target building and glanced back still wondering how they had my info? And there it was, the giant CVS letters plastered on the building. Which I had never noticed in all the years shopping there. ok, I am a CVS patron normally using the Plumb St store. Because of the excellent service, including the knowlegeable, cordial Pharmacist, (Thomas O Tang) I have ever encountered, I switched stores and have been picking up my prescriptions there ever since. They acknowledge you when you show up. If they are busy they tell you they will be with you soon etc..The assistants mention that you should use your CVS rewards card as you do get a $5.00 Target perk after your 10th refill on prescriptions. They remind you that your flu shot is due again etc.. Very impressive. Especially as the other location on Plumb was always a hassle/dreaded chore for me. Long lines, uncomfortable atmosphere. I have used this pharmacy for over 4 years. I recently moved to Las Vegas and nothing here has compared to the exceptional customer service at this location. Thomas is the best pharmacist. He cares about everyone and makes sure all of your questions and concerns are addressed and never makes you feel rushed. It's evident that he cares about the people he serves as he goes above and beyond. I never thought I'd be writing a review about a pharmacy/pharmacist, but here I am blown away by the excellent customer service and care I have experienced during my years in Reno. They only fill my prescriptions the day I need them for some reason and never answer the phone when I try to get my prescriptions filled sooner. This place sucks ass. I transferred my prescriptions elsewhere. I recommend everyone else do the same. The pharmacist is the slowest person on planet earth. Doesn't acknowledge customers and keeps her head down. I'm so glad this will be my last visit here. It takes one full hour to get one prescription. It's ridiculous. Was amazing with Thomas and went here for years. Everything these reviews say about the new lady are true. One night it took her 30 minutes to figure mine out and by the time she did, it was 7 and she couldn't do it anymore. I was almost in tears from the frustration. Then I went yesterday and she couldn't figure out the person in front if me's situation and I waited for 15 and had to go to an appointment. I came back after and there were 10 in line and the line was not moving so I left. They don't answer the phone. She hasn't been rude to me but she is not very efficient. I'm trying another cvs and if it isn't better I will go elsewhere. She is the only one I see in there and for that I do feel bad for her. Understaffed, but not efficient at all either. I called and spoke to the pharmacist about my anxiety medication and whether I can take my new anxiety medication with the other.
