Brake lights requiring a Wal-Mart employee to unlock a security cabinet
    James D.

This has not been my week for service at retail stores. Today, I went to Wal-Mart on East 2nd Street to buy brake light bulbs. I understand stores are combating theft by locking item in glass cabinets. Their service today, was keeping me standing for 23 minutes after pushing the service needed button on the cabinet. An automobile section employee that previously told me he did not have a security key was the one finally responding from 40 feet away... The only other item needed today was some men's Sox. I found them also locked in a glass cabinet. I pushed that help button & finally gave up after a 10 minute wait. IS IT POSSIBLE WAL-MART CONSIDERS THIS TYPE CUSTOMER SERVIVE IS ACCEPTABLE TO ANYONE ??

No way is this thick cut bacon!

The Walmart 'in house' shoppers are getting ruder every week. More and more products are being locked up. And nobody shows up to unlock these product cabinets! I'm my opinion, I believe they're trying to force people to shop online. While raising costs even higher.

I went the 2nd Street Walmart just to wander around since I had a late start. I found some interesting items on display and picked up a few Christmas related items for home. Overall, it was a pleasant visit, there was a huge variety of Christmas gift baskets and stocking stuffers on display as walk through the door plus all the other unique inventory. I even found a toaster oven that I might come back for.

Empty registers and terrible customer service

This place looks like it's about to close down. There needs to be more cashier's working and maybe clean up some of the trash at the end of some isle's. Worst in Reno for the worst in Reno, good job junkies. The employees are lazy, Unhelpful, and seem like they hate their jobs. Unfortunate...

Great Walmart in Reno! Our group found everything we were looking for from booze, sunscreen, snacks and more. The store was clean and well stocked. Coming from Colorado, I thought it was so cool that you could find hard alcohol here. It really is a one stop shop.

I think I need to update my review from 14 years ago!!!!…read more I stand by my original post: How wonderful to have a real grocery store that specializes in local and organic products. Much of the produce is locally grown, or locally adjacent (AKA California) OK, Bananas do not grow in the Great Basin. The origin of the produce is identified. They work with local farmers, bakeries, and other local businesses for the food and non-food items. They no longer have the upstairs restaurant but they do have a kitchen and make ready to go items. I love picking up a fresh salad (some with meat some purely vegan/vegetarian) , a yummy very generously filled wrap, house made cookies and other delectable treats. They have a large selection of locally produced meats. Lots of organic canned goods, dairy and non-dairy items . . . the list goes on. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Memberships are available (20$/year) with a once a month 10% off of your total purchase. You do NOT need a membership to shop here. It's small and a bit cramped but there is a lot of good stuff there. It's clean and friendly and completely locally owned.

So when lunch break came around I knew exactly where I was headed, Great Basin Co-op! I enjoyed a nice brisk walk in an autumn filled day. When I entered the store I was warming greeted by staff and by an organic clean smell. I really wanted their fresh spring rolls but they did not have those that day so I chose fresh rolled salmon made with wild caught salmon. It did not disappoint! Will I be back? Absolutely! So much fresh and organic choices! They also have plenty of seating indoor or outdoor. Thanks Great Basin Co-op!

Anna assists me almost every time I visit, and she is a absolute joy. She always has a genuine smile on her face and possesses the best attitude. Honestly, it's some of the best customer service I've ever experienced anywhere. She consistently turns a routine grocery trip into a great day. Unfortunately, my experience at the deli counter recently was the exact opposite. I went to order a sandwich and, as a first-timer, didn't realize there was a paper form I needed to fill out first. I stood waiting for assistance, and a staff member named Teri walked up, mumbled something, and immediately started to walk away. Because I couldn't hear her, I politely asked her to repeat herself. Teri responded with an incredibly dismissive attitude, acting as though asking for clarification was a major inconvenience. She then repeated, "You need to fill out the paper," speaking very condescendingly, as if I were unable to understand basic instructions. Even after I explained that I had never ordered a sandwich here before and simply didn't know the process, her attitude remained hostile. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and off-putting interaction. If it weren't for Anna completely turning my mood around at checkout per usual, I would have walked out incredibly frustrated. Management has a real gem in Anna, but they desperately need to address the customer service standards and basic courtesy at the deli counter.

I found myself out and about with just my son and and we both thought a char grilled kebab sounded like a fun dinner experiment. We popped in and found who were guessing is the owner's child at the register and placed our order for their signature kebab made from ground chicken and Afghani spices. The plate came with sumac spiked basmati rice, two pieces of the chicken kebab and a small green salad plus a green hot sauce. The kebab was tender and juicy with a great flavor profile and a nice bit of charcoal flavor. We thought the rice was actually exceptional light and fluffy with a hint of that citrus sea tang from the sumac, in a buttery finish, made this a nice light side to the kebab. The salad was fresh and crunchy with cucumber, lettuce, and bell peppers and that green hot sauce was really great and we used it as a dressing because the salad did not come with one. For $16 I just felt like the value was a bit often the plate needed at least one more piece of the kebab because when finished with a small tiny salad and the kebab, we were left with a mountain of rice and that is south wasteful. I just wish the plates here were a bit more valued oriented and I guess it will take more people eating here to kind of drive that up. Highly recommend giving it a try plus the market has some really fun fines too. Share your review and let me know what you think.
