Feels a bit strange to Yelp review a department store, but I really wanted to shout out one of their associates. I believe his name is Aaron (longish black hair) because he is such a fantastic hype man! He is always bubbly and enthusiastic, and makes me feel so good about my purchases. I generally dread small talk interactions at check-outs, but he makes it genuinely enjoyable. The store itself is great too. If you like to shop at places like Marshall's, Sierra, TJ Maxx, etc., this is definitely the best version of them. I appreciate that the clothes are actually organized, and they have one of the best shoe selections of any store. The prices are generally good and reasonable, but the clearance prices are often extreme deals with the caveat of very limited selection (obviously though, since it's clearance). They also have a really good selection of skin care, hair care, and make up. Those are the discounts I often end up appreciating the most! read more

9/9/2025 Stopped in to see what handbags they had.. Not too many- ended up browsing for clothes...(I did wander through the shoe selection).. Apparently loss prevention staff was monitoring someone and actually prevented him from walking away with a shopping bag of items.. I'm glad retail stores embrace the prevention of shoplifters.. rather than some stores just taking the loss and letting them walk away..although is the safety of an employee worth it.. is always a other view.. In the last year, I've been more and more disappointed with Nordstrom racks. As most of them seem to be filled with commercial products just for the rack. When Nordstrom's rack first started they were really cool because you could get a lot of namebrand products that haven't been licensed And we're just unsold products from the regular Nordstrom stores. It's clear now if you go to Nordstrom's and then go to Nordstrom's rack that often Nordstrom rack just carries the licensed and more crap tastic brands. This location is receiving a five because they had multiple racks at least one in every subsection that had legitimate items from the regular, Nordstrom's and reminded me more what it was like where you could get a $800 dress for $100 It's to the point where I don't go to the rack very often anymore because it might as well just be a MarshallS hats off to whoever stocks this store read more

I returned a shirt that I ordered online that was the wrong shirt. They told me that their store policy is they don't return shipping even if it was their mistake. I explained to him that it's my policy never to do business with a company that doesn't take responsibility for their own mistake and still charges me for shipping the wrong shirt. I am a fan of Nordstrom Rack and feel lucky we have one here in Reno. I tend to come here every time I am about to go on a trip because they usually have what I am looking for. On my most recent visit, that meant a nice pair of sunglasses, a versatile t-shirt, and lightweight On Cloud X shoes for lots of walking. Nordstrom Rack is especially known for carrying good quality shoes at discounted prices so I was happy to find some comfortable, cute ones for my upcoming trip. I've shopped in here a few times. The store is always well-maintained and has a huge selection. Today, I went in for an online pickup. There aren't any huge signs at or above eye-level telling where the pickup counter is, but there are arrows on the floor leading you where to go. There's a separate line for store pickups and one for returns/exchanges. I walked up to the pickup line. There were also customers in the returns line. All the associates were busy, but the woman at the pickup counter finished up quickly and I was helped within 2 minutes of waiting. The pick up was so quick and easy! Everything was packaged in a box and sealed. The associate offered to open it - to ensure everything was there. I declined, but was impressed that they offer to do so. Overall, it was a quick and easy experience! I would order online for pickup again knowing it's an easy process! read more

Since there isn't a actual Nordstrom in Reno, this is my best bet. I have already been by twice since I moved here and I've been pretty happy with their merch. I found a adorable LBD that was marked down significantly so score. I bought a couple of beautiful candles for my guest rooms. They had a close out on a makeup brand that I love. I literally got the very last loose powder in my color, lip liner, lip gloss and eyeliner yay! The men's section had Ted Baker shirts, so that was exciting. I was able to get 2 amazing ones for my husbands bday. I go to this store every couple of months, they always have a good selection of shoes, they have a great selection of Free People brand which I just love. It's pretty pricey when you purchase at the stores or online. The one thing that drives me nuts is they ask you for your cell phone number when you're checking out...I'm always astonished by this. The older woman putting away clothes was the only polite staff member. The rest of the staff stood around the front, loudly chatting with no customers in sight. When I placed my items down, the store manager attempted to put them away, which I understand as part of cleanup. However, his reaction after being informed they were reserved was unnecessary, bordering on dismissive. He then made a point to assert his role as store manager after he and his associate made it seem like I was overreacting. Horrible customer service horrible attitudes. When asked to talk to a manager, I got someone who at first claimed to be the manager than later it turns out they were in fact not the manager. This Indian whom was very aggressive in telling me the rules of the fitting rooms. When I explained to her that I under stand English and that she didn't need to tell me the same thing over and over again she became aggressive and actually threw something. When I asked to see the videos they said they were not allowed to share them. Stephen Combs the manager is supposed to call me let's see if that happens. The "Manager" was more focused that I said the employee was "talking shit" he said I should is try kind of language. When did talking shit become an issue. And wouldn't move past that. Came here looking for a specific pair of shoes. We could figure out how the shoe department was organized, so we looked for an employee. A nice lady was near by that we were able to get the answers we needed. It turns out that the shoes are sorted by size, not brand, and we were informed that the box may not reflect the brand of shoe inside. All of those factors made it extremely difficult to locate what we were looking for. We were ultimately able to find the kind or shoe we were looking for, but not the size. The same lady checked for more, but there were none in store. Their prices were very good, but I wouldn't want to return here for shoes and go through the hassle of searching through that mess again. read more

Nordstrom Rack is conveniently located, well organized, clean, reasonably priced, offers decent deals and the service is stellar. However, I never have good luck here. The selection is limited and most of the times the items that I like are not available in my size. With that being said, the staff is very helpful and always tries to find something similar to what I am looking for. A few times they have removed items from the mannequins for me to try on. I pop in here occasionally, with the hope to find a treasure but so far no luck. read more

I just happen to read the comments here. First, of all. This location is very well kept, from their social distancing practice, sanitation station, Covid-19 complaint. It's hard to push for safety in general let alone mandated mask requirement and some of you are acting complete stupid. I want to talk about merchandise stock. Not all location will have the same shipment imagine how many stores they have world wide, allocating merchandise available properly based on sales per location plus their volume, so if once in a while they are low on merch. I think that's normal. From a consumer stand point... yes, it is expensive to buy full price, but what can they do when oddities happen in shipments? Be polite and have common sense. The person up there crying because she was asked to put her mask back on completely to properly cover the face is such a fool. The thing is more than likely they are more concern about your safety than they are for themselves which is sad. They came to work knowing someone like YOU would be acting like an entitled brat throwing a fit. You would think having a condition like asthma that you will be grateful for their protocol. If you feel like you don't wanna wear mask or you cant breathe then stay home or online shop or get Covid for not wearing the mask right., Giving a establishment such a poor review based on your own Poor life choices is unfair. Stay home be free to breathe or be out and about and mask your face on and let alone mask your nasty behavior. Some people have no sense of compassion. Once the chaos of the opening has subsided this will be a good shopping option. Parking is typically plentiful but tonight it was in short supply. I wound up parking across the lot for the sneak preview event. It was hard to get a good feel for the layout of the store as I spent most of my time avoiding running into my fellow shoppers. The shoe section is always a perk at NR. They have running shoes, dress shoes and casual shoes. They also have a great selection of, what I call, 'fun sock.' Awesome patterns that masquerade as dress socks. Some of the shoes were quite overpriced. A simple pair of black Converse were $55. That's above standard retail. Why would I pay more than normal at a 'discount' retailer? Once the madness cools off I would check this place out again. Accessories for the home are limited but for women's fashions the selection was quite large. Men's fashion was limited to maybe 30 yards of racks. There is also a very small amount of luggage available for sale. If you are a Nordstrom Rack fan this is worth a trip. If you don't enjoy NR's then don't step in here. Pro Tip - if you ask, they have small cell phone like registers so you can pay without waiting in the standard line. read more

So I had a few minutes to kill waiting for some friends to meet me at we olive ( wine shop next door ) so I popped in for just a second to see if anything had changed from the soft opening I went to a few months ago. Boy was I surprised!!! I wandered around not thinking I would find a darn thing... And Bam, then Bam, then Bam bam! The variety and price changed... That's for darn sure! There were a ton of things I would love to have bought for reasonable prices. Great summer tops and capris for around 18.00, shoes, dresses, purses, jewelry... All for the most part reasonable. I'm working with a style coach these days to try and get my "professional look" together.... And I'll tell ya, I'm heading back next week with her! Just remember.... This place is a little different from other stores because there are no actual registers to speak of. No one is wandering the store fawning over you wanted to "start a room for you". This is do it yourself, find it yourself, start your own room yourself... Sort of place. When your finished and ready to go, track down the one lady with a bright green shirt, bending down to fix some random display or wandering around the store putting things away. She's the one that can ring you up with a credit card phone thing.... And ring up those precious new shoes and bag you just found. I give them 4 stars because they have sort of a Ross or tj max feel to it. Ya know, one big room for everything... i like to be pampered and fawned over and have a room started for... I don't shop much but when I do I like to feel spoiled. The parking is easy to get in and out of and the staff is friendly. The clothes and variety of clothes are a nice change from the average spots here in town. I plan on heading back next week to pick up some necessities for my "professional look".... First I want to say that we love Nordstrom's rack's. However, this Rack is awful. There is little stock, the shoes are ridiculous. If you are looking for men's clothing or men's shoes don't bother coming here. If I were Nordstrom's, I would not want my name on this store. Ask the manager about inventory and get no answer. The regional manager is not doing their job. As this is the only Rack for over 100 miles it would do great business if it was stocked and if the staff gave a $&@! The store is clean and well organized but is definitely lacking in selection. I could hardly find anything in petites, let alone a professional black dress for work. There was a lot of vacant floor space that could have easily been filled with additional racks. The prices are pretty high for what is supposed to be an outlet store. I was shocked to see a wire metal chair in there that was still over $400. I get it, it's "Nordstrom" but Target has the same chair for $40. I'll return to see how their selection changes with the seasons but I'm not hopeful given the size. read more

I was very sad when I was moving to Reno and learned that there's no Nordstroms in town. I have the Nordstrom Rewards card and get a few notes a year--that's how much I shop at Nordstroms! Part of the reason is that I'm petite, and it's very difficult to find petite sizes. Nordstroms has an entire petite size section! Anyway, I finally decided to stop in. Shoes. Lots of shoes! For men, women, and children. They had nice handbags, scarves/hats/gloves, and beauty products (like OPI nail polish, Mario Badescu, Philosophy, etc.). I tried on a handful of clothing and didn't like any of them except for the camisoles, which was what I was looking for anyway. There was a very nice Kate Spade skirt on sale that I might have gotten if the bright color had worked better with my skin tone. The lady in the fitting room area was super nice--she asked if I needed a cart when she saw my armful of clothes. When I left, she told me to have a nice day. The greeter at the door would not allow me to enter with the mask I was wearing that is approved by our health department. I am not sure which CDC guidelines she referenced, but the whole way this was handled may cause this corporation to loose my business after forty years.
