Woven Loafer - Finally found one I liked at Dillards, except for the color. There were NO woven loafers here at all. Okay, I just ordered 4 shoes online and it did NOT go through! Called the toll free # - Customer service (Vern) was good and helped us order. Will update after receiving shoes. Update - Got the shoes and they looked worn... Tried to reorder online, but again, I had issues... So I called customer service and asked for NEW pairs/reordered. Again, good service, but we will see what gets shipped. Update 2 - Now I am up to my 6th pair. Sadly, I had so many issues with the shoes not being new, the shoes were being shipped from so many different places, arriving on different days/times, and one never delivered, even though their website said they were delivered. If you buy different brands of shoes, and from different countries, all sizes are NOT equal... Some run larger, some smaller, etc. This is one of the reasons I am NOT an online customer. Defeats the purpose of "convenience." And I actually feel guilty returning all the wrong shoes. Also, there were so many difficulties with online ordering. Again, calling in service was good. Return service was good. Atmosphere - Good size, clean organized. Memorial Day promotion, other promotions, see pictures or website. Veteran & military discounts, see picture or website. Open 7 days a week from 10 m to 9pm and until 6pm on Sundays. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Self service. Price - $500, reasonable. I totally scored on a couple of pairs of dress shoes from DSW and am in love with some Franco Sarto heels for the holidays. It had been awhile since I had a "high heel" upgrade, and I figured a new pair of shoes would update my early 2000's work and dressy attire. You never know when you have to rise to the occasion. The service sucked. I was browsing around the store for Christmas presents, and the employees noticed me looking around. They called ESI security into the store as the employees became territorial and walked very close to me. These people not only judged me, but it became very uncomfortable. The employees made it very noticeable and didn't try to disguise it. It's very rude to judge someone just because I wanted to browse around. I'm not sure if skin tone or nationality played a part in this, but I left with four pairs of shoes--and I'm never coming back! I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I drive up from Carson City to this DSW store that is located by 'Total Wine' across from Target on South Virginia Street. When I come here I am usually on a mission looking for comfortable work shoes or something FUN for Summer and when I do, I start by looking up and down the aisles then inevitably end up in the clearance section where I always find at least one pair that comes home with me. My closet has shoes hidden all over or at least I think I'm hiding them LOL with deals I have found from the treasure trove off the clearance racks of DSW. LOVE getting the many different styles from BOCs, Born, Earth Origins, Naturalize, Clarks, Merrell and A2 to name a few of the AMAZING brands they carry or how about Roxy, Madden Girl, Steve Madden, Sam Edelman or Kelly & Katie - Yeppers this gal is definitely in Shoe HEAVEN! Anddd occasionally when I drag my hubby along he even finds a pair or two for his growing shoe collection too. I immediately got a person talking about medicare review, and then a live person came on line and wouldn't stop talking about a emergency button to press. Literally as I was saying no, she kept talking - i yelled stop already and hung up. Really this is they way you people do business? I have frequented DSW for many of my footwear needs over the years, but I am going focus on my most recent shopping experiences during these Covid times. I honestly haven't been doing a lot of shopping this year, but when I found out my wedding dress had arrived I knew I needed to find some shoes ASAP! My first choice was DSW, because there is typically a large selection of formal shoes to choose from. My mom and I went to the store to browse around. As we were taking advantage of the complementary hand sanitizer at the entry way, an employee greeted us from the checkout area. (At the entry there was a little table setup with hand sanitizer and boxes of gloves in multiple sizes.) My mom and I were relieved to see that the store wasn't super busy, so we start perusing the aisles (which were all clearly marked with tape to direct the flow of shoppers). I was pretty disappointed with the selection of heels (nothing fit for a bride), but I also understood that the entire supply chain for fashion got completely messed up this year. Plus, not that many people are getting married this year, so why would they have wedding shoes. We leave. The following weekend one of my bridesmaids and I went back to DSW to see if maybe there was a shoe that my mom and I had overlooked. Again, we sanitized up and were greeted by a friendly employee. After nearly giving up on the shoe hunt again my bridesmaid finds a simple pair of white block heels. I don't love them, but she suggests I buy them just for the dress fitting and worst case scenario I can find something else later. I decide to make the purchase. When I go to the socially distanced checkout, the friendly cashier asks me about my number for the loyalty program--I have a $5 off coupon! Yay! Already I'm feeling better about buying the shoes that may or may not work out. Then, the cashier tells me the total--only $12.95 for the shoes! Double YAY! Now I feel great about the shoes even if they don't work with my dress. Flash forward to the telling moment with my wedding dress--and the shoes look fantastic and compliment the dress well! Since the shoes were a winner, I needed to go back to DSW to return some heel stoppers that I had purchased just in case I needed to wear a stiletto heel on grass. The return process was super simple and socially distanced as well. In and out in less than 5 minutes! Women's shoes tend to be the big thing here. not much in selection for men, and nothing at all for kids. They do have a constant clearance section, so this is why I come in (to see if there is anything new on clearance that I must have). Their clearance is marked by colored stickers and each color coordinates to the amount of % off the sticker prices. They have signs posted on top the shelves so you can look to see the discounted price as well based on percentage, this is quite helpful. The staff on the other hand do not interact with the customer much at all. So if you like no contact shopping this is the place for you. The gym's more of a fashion show these days than a place to work out for many. You've almost got to be in shape before you set foot through the door, and then you got to be rocking the latest Lululemon if you're a lady, and you better be sporting that Under Armor if you're any kind of a man apparently. Well this homey don't play that! But I started going consistently a few weeks ago and while my manly Merrill day hikers do the trick on the trail, they just weren't cutting it on the treadmill... ok the elliptical. DSW has come to my rescue many times when I'm in need of footwear. Though their selection of shoes can be limited, they always have a handful of footwear for each function. Whether you're walking the runway (who does that?) or running round the track, if your needs aren't too specific, they've got the solution. For me, it's about width, and while I can get by with standard sizes in certain brands, comfort is sacrificed, so the wide widths are necessary. DSW always has New Balance, which is available in my size, and on this latest visit I learned Saucony does too. I have to really get a feel for a shoe before I buy it, so it can take a while for me to make a decision, so I appreciate the self service style of DSW. There are always employees on the floor if you did need assistance though. For someone with hard feet to fit, I've been successful with shoe shopping on multiple occasions at DSW, and I've seen my fiancee take off with far too many pairs at one time, which makes me think the prices are pretty darn good too. read more

DSW offers quality shoes at a discounted price! Not much can get better than that! There is a wide variety of women's shoes but men's selection seems to be a little limited. As much as I love shoe shopping, I didn't love the layout of the store because I felt that I had to walk up and down every isle just to see everything. It all seemed really spread out and I had a hard time taking it all in. Once you find your way around the store, shopping gets a little bit easier. I went shopping with a friend during one of DSW's better clearance sales and she got 5 pairs of shoes for about $100. I love shoes, so I always have fun at DSW! The store is in the shopping center where Total Wine and PetsMart are located. There is plenty of parking available outside. When you walk in, the store is clean and organized. You can find everything from running shoes, sandals, boots, and high heels all at a discounted price. Unless I'm looking for a particular type or pair of shoes, I bee line it to the back of the store where the clearance shoes are located. They are organized by size. Just find your shoe size rack and shop away. I have been known to purchase a few pairs simply because the price was right. :) There you will find all types of shoes for an even better deal. You'll find a colored sticker on the box letting you know the additional percent off. Some shoes are discounted up to 80 percent off! Today I scored a pair of name brand black pumps for $10! DSW also sells socks and accessories like wallets and handbags. They seem to have a good selection too. Sign up for DSW rewards. Got my 14 year old daughter 7 pair of shoes for $105 - yes 4 of them were sandals for summer and it's January (but they're really cute and 60-80 off%!) but 3 were also flats for walking and dresses she can start wearing now. I received a gift card from my employer. i downloaded the card following the instructions on my phone. As I went to the DSW Register the 2 associates, red head woman and Larry were extremely helpful trying to get the gift card downloaded in their system. They were not sure how to do the transaction. They asked another associate, Carmen to help. Carmen was not willing to help. She clearly said this doesn't work in the store. I pointed out to her how to redeem in store with my instructions on my phone. She absolutely said. "This won't work". Unwilling to look at the instructions I provided to her. She was rude, didn't help, no smile, looked miserable. So disappointed in the service I received. Manager came over and walked the other 2 associates thru the task, but she wasn't friendly either. Every girl loves shoes! I just hate shopping for them sometimes and I can tend to put it off for a little too long. But when I finally do go, I can always count on DSW for a large selection. I may not always find what I want, but give it a couple of weeks and they usually have new merchandise. When did it become so hard to find simple, classic sandals? The hunt is on as spring has sprung. I am hunting for a simple pair of white sandals. I wasn't aware this would be so incredibly hard to find. DSW has thong sandals, sandals with heels, platform sandals, sparkly sandals, and every other sandal in between but no simple sandal to be found. These shoes were much more decorative than what I had wanted but that may be your thing. However, I crave the classic shoes that will last several years and not go out of style. This isn't the place to find those. The customer service were polite and attempted to be helpful. I appreciated that even if they did look at me like I had three heads when I made my request. I would have never considered myself a shoe addict until I took my first trip to DSW a couple of weeks ago. I was amazed with the size of this building! The moment I walked through the front doors I was a bit overwhelmed with their collection of footwear. Thankfully, everything seems very well organized! Their sandals are in one section, along with their activewear shoes, and your basic sneakers. They have a clearance section in the very back which is where I bought my first pair of Steve Madden boots! The staff is always willing to help you out. If they don't have your size, they will order it online and have it shipped to your house at no extra cost. I found that to be pretty convenient! I went to my first DSW in Madison, WI, while visiting a friend, and was dazzled by the sheer magnitude of shoeosity. Just months later, Reno got its own DSW, adding a badly-needed new option for those in search of cute shoes. Mind you, DSW is not Payless. When they say designer, they mean it - you'll find shoes from Kenneth Cole, Skechers, Steve Madden, and Anne Klein, all the way up to Prada and other names I'm too poor to know. They carry men's, women's, and children's shoes, ranging from athletic to casual to formal occasion. And it's not junk from two seasons ago that they're trying to squeeze the last scraps of life out of - many of the styles are current and you can find them in regular department stores, but for much more. Usually, I head straight to the back where the clearance is. Color-coded tags tell you how much of a percentage to take off to get the final price, and with a little digging, you can find cute, brand-name shoes for about $20. I got a pair of dressy Aerosoles (not just for orthopedic grandmas anymore) that I've been really happy with, especially because I can gloat about the price. Dedicated shoe lovers will also appreciate their club card, which rewards you with a free pair of shoes when you hit certain spending goals (I think it's one pair of shoes for every $250 you buy). Don't come here expecting rock-bottom sales, but if you want quality shoes from brand names you actually recognize, DSW is a good way to ease the strain on your wallet a bit. read more

They have competitive pricing on a decent variety of shoes. For a discount warehouse, they keep the store clean and the shoes are well stocked in a variety of sizes. It seems like if they run low on sizes of a certain shoe, they move it to the clearance section and mark the price down at least 30% (according to the color-coded stickers). Shopping on DSW.com is easy but delivery is somewhat slow, but on the bright side, returns can be made in-store. I've only ever run into an issue once while making a return. I used $2 in store credit and $100 on my debit card for the purhase but the online purchase receipt didn't specify this so they wanted to refund my entire purchase on store credit. Unfortunately, DSW headquarters customer service was closed so I had to call and return to the store the next day. Everything was figured out and my return was processed smoothly. read more

However, they have every day low prices, so if I don't find something I like back there it's all good with their regular selection. Had a great experience here the other day. Cynthia at the cash register was amazing. She was so friendly and energetic. She acknowledged us right away. She helped us order some shoes that weren't in stock and got them shipped straight to our house. I'm going to let you in on a secret. I don't like shopping. Crazy right? When I go shopping, I have a specific purpose, I'm not a browser. For this trip, I was looking for two new pairs of summer sandals - a white pair and a black pair. I chose DSW because I know they have a huge selection. I walked in, and was instantly greeted by a friendly employee. I made my way around the store, which is conveniently organized by heels, flats, sandals, tennis shoes, etc. Women's on one side, men's on the other. This is great when you're in a hurry, because you can go straight to your section. My favorite section is the clearance section, which is located at the back of the store. Unlike some stores that constantly look like a tornado has just gone through, this store is always perfectly organized. The shoes in the clearance center are all an additional percent off, with color coded stickers, with a nice chart above each rack showing the final price after each discount. I was lucky that day and found two pairs of sandals right away! So I grabbed those two, and still took a quick pass through the sandal section on the main floor. They have a really great selection - from the inexpensive, to the more expensive/name brand choices. They have comfy and practical, and foot-killing, sexy heels. The store is huge, which is nice because the aisles are nice and wide. I like that there are full length mirrors rather than just the little mirrors by the floor. I want to see the whole look with the new shoes, not just from the ankle down! Finally at check out, I was greeted by a friendly employee, who checked my shoes, confirmed that I was buying the size I intended to buy, and confirmed that the shoes were each the same size. She told me about their members program in which shoppers earn points towards rewards. I said "sign me up!" because I love stuff like that! She told me I will be receiving a $10 coupon in the mail within three weeks - at which point I will definitely go back to buy another pair! read more
