J.C. Penney In-Home Custom Window Treatments Mark was our interior designer who helped us choose our new blinds. He is very knowledgeable, informed, kind, and has a great eye for matching fabrics, etc. Our home has a mish-mash of different textures, colors, and designs but it works for us. We met with Mark at J.C. Penney's and made arrangements for him to come to our house and take measurements and help us to decide on what window treatment worked best for us. We went with blinds that are so much easier to open and close than those from years ago. We have a large house and our doing our windows in small projects at a time. I was hoping to have them all finished by now but we had to put in a new air conditioner and heater. However, I don't think I would want anyone other than Mark to help us. Especially now since he knows our style and likes. We now have 7 new blinds and one of them is a silhouette and it is my favorite. This blind can be open in the middle so that there is a sheer fabric that you can see out of or you can close the sheer blind and can't see through it, and the third option is, of course, to have it closed. Wow! What a difference a year makes. I had stopped going to Penny's because of the long checkout lines and not opening until 11am(Kohls opens at 9am). I was out that way at 11 and stopped in to see what spring clothes they had in. When I walked in I was immediately greeted and brought a cart without asking. I was asked if I needed help throughout the store. Everyone was so nice! I found a very cute blouse and capri pants for a great price. I will return in a couple months to see what else they have. I made a recent trip to JCPenney's and was not disappointed. You can find some great sales going on at JCP because of the upcoming season change. Since Reno typically has an extended winter, I continue to wear winter clothes well into Spring. Hence a good deal with a good rationalization. Got some fleece pullovers that were $37.00 and after the sale coupons, they were $7.00 a piece. Can't beat that. Easy order on the net with same day pick up at JCP Meadowood Mall. I was in the store today and we were down stairs in the kids Disney section when I saw a live mouse running around that department. That's very unsanitary and mice carry diseases. Racks a mess. Clothes in the wrong size categories. No fitting rooms, which is understandable, but given that I am unable to try-on I would like the return window extended. The Reno locations cater to a lot of rural communities and it is highly unlikely I would be back in 30 Days. Mr friend and I put back $175 in clothing because of the narrow return window. There were a couple associates in jewelry doing nothing that refused to check people out, one line for all clients, and quite a few people waiting. Do yourself a favor and go to the actual Sephora Store, they are fully stocked, have a staff that is friendly, courteous and helpful. I showed the clerk at JCPenney a typed description of the makeup I wanted to purchase. When I got home and checked the product it was the wrong shade. Now a trip back to the store to return/exchange the item. The clerk that waited on me originally wanted to know what was wrong. I explained that she gave me the wrong product. She asked if I had used the product, no I did not, then demanded to see the paper I showed her earlier today wanting to prove it was my mistake ?????? It wasn't. An "I'm sorry for the mistake/inconvenience" would have gone a long way! A second clerk was able to exchange the item and was pleasant. I will not be shopping here again! read more

I was told if I gave them certain information I would get $100 off my $250 purchase as part of their credit card system. However, the next month I was billed and then charged interest. There was no indication that I would be billed for the difference that I saved during my initial purchase, just told that I would save. Not sure if that's against policy and the employee messed up explaining how it worked, or if it's like that by nature. Either way, not going back. read more

I have been a customer of JCPenney since the dawn of time. I have been coming to this particular location off and on for the last 20 years. So why do I keep coming back? The clothes and the price. When I find something I like, I have found the quality is good for the price. They have frequent sales and offer lots of discounts for card holders. Over the years the customer service has been cut back significantly, but when I do ask for assistance, the staff have been friendly and helpful and make an effort to try to find what I want. The dressing rooms are generally clean and fairly roomy. The retail area feels a bit cramped, but certainly not as bad as the discount retailers, but not as spacious as the more high end stores. This is a pretty solid mid range clothing store with decent products at a fair price. read more

There is a pretty good selection of items here at the JCPenney especially if you're in Reno, caught in a wind storm where the resorts are shutdown, don't want to sit in a smokey casino floor and have nothing better to do. The staff here is friendly, they are helpful if you're looking for ANYTHINg at all even if its just the bathroom and I picked up some aprons on the cheap for gifts for parents' since ... I'm not sure what else to get them! There are some good household deals too if you're into appliances and some cheap lower end electronics. read more

If I'm going to shop at a department store in Reno, it's usually the Dillards at the Summit. A free contouring demo coupon at Sephora in this month's issue of Cosmo brought me into the store, as there is a Sephora on the first floor. The Sephora is smaller than the store at the Summit and doesn't carry all of the brands that a stand-alone store does, most notably, Estee Lauder perfume. Frowny face! There was no problem using the demo coupon, and Cheryl did an amazing job putting into practice on me all the skills I have learnt about contouring from YouTube and Instragram video how-to's. A happy customer, I bought myself a fancy shimmery bronser ($25). Afterwards I walked through the women's section and found a number of articles of workout clothing and work clothing that I tried on in a clean fitting room. Now that I live in a loft and don't have a closet with doors, I see all the clothes that I own, so now I am super picky about what new clothes I buy. None of the items made the cut, but I was very impressed by how low the prices were. read more

We arrived 15 minutes early and had to wait almost an hour until we were taken into the studio. What is the point of making an appointment if it's not held to the time you made it? I shop at the meadow wood mall in Reno NV and it's become a fire hazard. Blocking doors as fire exits and having only one entrance in and out. That's dangerous. Macy's isn't doing that and they are keeping track of the customers coming in and out Also they locked the front door of the Mall entrance in front of the bus station and you have to go through Dick's sports to get to the main Mall O. J There are disabled, seniors who can't walk that far around to get to J C Penny it's discrimination to all of us who are disabled and seniors who can't walk that far. I want to support my local business but not when they've exclude me. They use to have a security guard at the food court making sure people wore masks not anymore now people are walking around in the Mall with no mask on. J.C. Met a Fantastic cashier named Nataly. She went above and beyond for me today. I accidentally got the wrong size 501 jeans, 2 pair and she ran upstairs to retrieve the right size. So Incredible! We had discovered that I had chosen the stretch pairs which won't shrink so I needed a smaller size. She even provided me a coupon and convinced me to sign up for a rewards program. Wow! So Great. Because Reno/Sparks is fortunate enough to have Penny's outlet store, the actual JC Penny's store could almost seem redundant and might except for one wonderful feature: This store allows catalog customers to pick up catalog ordered items here. This is great if I need to receive my item(s) quickly as my order will generally arrive in 2-3 business days, and I get free shipping with no minimum purchase. The catalog pick up counter and center are both located around the backside of the mall with handy access to parking near the doors. Since you can also return items to this store (and I have), it's great to be close to the door because the items I am returning are at a 50/50 risk of being heavy items such as bedspreads, blankets or curtains. Since I tend to purchase from the catalog once or twice per year, Penny's offers me a free catalog annually. I usually don't take it, and shop on-line instead, but if I'm planning a decorating project, I'll give in and take the Big Penny's Book! By agreeing to let them send me emails once per week, I can usually qualify for free shipping to my house. However, if an item needs to be returned, I can skip repackaging and standing in a postal line, then worrying whether they will get the item in a timely fashion, by driving my item(s) directly back to the Penny store. The reason the rating is 4 stars instead of 5 is that only about 2 out of 3 of their catalog counter employees are good at the job so you can end up spending more time here than you'd planned. Oh well, I'm so pleased to have one excellent catalog store that I'll willingly put up with a bit of inefficiency. Overall, I think Penny's has the best buyers of any department store in the area because quality is relatively high and prices are reasonable. read more

Went to the store to shop today. What a disgrace this store is. Who ever the manager is he or she needs to be replaced. The store was a wreck. Almost like shopping at a dollar store. The cloths were a mess, it was very apparent that no one is working in the departments keeping things folded and organized. Clothes on the floor and on the shelves in a pile. Reminded me Salvation Army. The floors were dirty with trash everywhere. The is no pride here for sure. I am a long time customer and it's very sad to see this store in this shape. I will not be back. I picked up items to purchase but when I waited at checkout I said hell no and put the items back. What happened to prompt customer service. I will shop where my money is wanted and appreciated. What a shame. I can see a store the store closing if action isn't taken. Who would wants to shop in a dump like this. read more
