Well not the mens section... Which is fine for me. Saving me $$ and not buying more stuff I don't need. Atmosphere - Unique and one of a kind items. Discount department stores. My wife spends hours here as often as she can. Clean bathrooms. Open 7 days a week from 9:30am to 9:30pm. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Quick and organized check out services. They are very clear with letting the customers in line know when a cashier is open. Price - Best prices for what they carry, if you can find what you want. Think a treasure hunt. Owner Suggestion - Congrats on all your success since 1976. When founder Bernard Cammarata of the Zayre chain tried and failed to acquire Marshalls, they started this brand to compete... This location is probably amongst the most chaotic TJMaxx locations I've ever been to. The disarray begins in the parking lot - it's a total nightmare. The store is not the cleanest and is overwhelming. This location has all the sections: shoes, bags, jewelry, men's, women's, pet products, toys, bath, beauty, kitchen, home goods and probably one of the largest sections of food and perishable items and seasonal decor. I find this location to be above average for wrapping materials around the holidays and the cutest reusable boxes. It's a great spot if you want to put together a gift basket. The prices are of course decent though the quality varies greatly. Still a great place to kill some time and find a new treasure! You just have to have patience. read more

I'm updating my review. I went in looking for something specific. I understand they run out of something but this TJ maxx is something else. I didn't see anyone with any signifiant bags going out. Maybe a couple items. Shelves were empty at least the remodeling is done. They used to have so much great stuff. I used to buy it even if I didn't need it, or would buy food someone else. It's really gone down hill in the last year or so. I'm not sure what happened. Clothing dept was thin, women's lingerie was thin, I walked out disappointed and with nothing. Again. I don't know anyone who doesn't like TJ Maxx. They've got a little of everything you can possibly want .. just don't go looking for the same thing twice. I go monthly for body lotions and hand soaps. Then stay and look around in case there is something else "I can't live without." LOL Usually end up buying one or two things from the gourmet foods aisles. They tried to limit my hours because of the fact that I go to church/volunteer on Sundays, so I had to quit. The workers in the back also talk crap about customers/workers in another language, and management allows it. The management is a joke and I'd NEVER recommend working here. Good selection of products! My parents moved to a new home and had almost nothing for their walls and kitchen/bathrooms. This TJM had a lot of things they knew they needed but didn't know where to find! I enjoyed perusing the aisles here and helping them find key items for their kitchen and bathrooms. This location is big, well lit, and has plenty of parking out front. The associates were friendly, and checkout was quick and easy. I foresee many future visits to this particular TJM! read more

I'm am obsessed with this store and have always been a frequent shopper here. Now that I just bought a new huge home in Reno I have lots of rooms to fill with gorgeous accoutrements. Today I scored a beautiful vanity chair! I was shocked that they had the EXACT one I had been searching for months for. My home is loaded with pink marble, I first I hated it...but now I'm just embracing the 80's and loving it ;) I was so thrilled that I forgot to even look at the price. I always always carry a measuring tape in my purse and have a list of everything I need to buy. The sellers of my home ripped everything out, even things that should have come with the home, so annoying. It's been like a treasure hunt shopping for all the items I need to replace. Haggled by manager!!! We found an awesome piece yesterday. We drove an hour, rushing over this morning to make the purchase. With closer examination today we found damage to the decor piece and it was stickered with a red tag for $0.00 Once we got to register cashier admits she tagged this and should not be on the floor. she Immediately radio's the manager. The manager says it couldn't be sold on the floor because it could hurt somebody. Then she proceeded to say she needed "something" (paid) for it and looked at the original cost. She offered to sell it at $25, went down to $20, $19.99 when we tried to negotiate $10. Manager would not budge. Now the item will probably sit in the dump. We were already purchasing another item that we may have well overpaid for. There's no admission of guilt from the staff even though they clearly were at fault. Due to their staff's brashness and terrible communication on their end I give this location a 0-star. read more

It's pretty rare that I walk into a TJ Maxx and don't find something I want to take home. They have such great stuff for yourself and for your home. And at super affordable prices. I come here all the time for home goods (no pun intended) because the prices are hard to beat for the quality and look. I guarantee you will find something for your home when you walk into this store. As for merch for yourself. Clothing can be hit or miss, at least for the womens section. The mens section seems to have a great brand's all the time. But they also carry handbags, luggage, jewelry, beauty items, shoes, and hair care items. Who doesn't like to play scavenger hunt? But these days, instead of knocking on stranger's doors looking for unique or weird items, instead go to TJ Maxx. It's a treasure hunt! There IS different stock in nearby TJ Maxx's or even in ones that are an 8 hr drive away! Haha...I came to reno to scavenge?!! What do you need? What don't you need! I've found the exact appropriately themed greeting cards that I sought, seasonal decor, dryer balls, organizational dividers, sparkly drawer pulls, and jeans with sparkles above the pocket in my size!! And don't even get me started with my snacks (see below pic). I've tried all kinds, from quinoa pretzels to tiny but mighty popcorn - they average ~$1.99. Unbelievably delicious. Parking here is usually pretty good. The store is always in disarray and things are usually misplaced. There is never anyone on the floor to ask questions about things and the staff is always unhappy and fighting with each other in front of the customers. I go there to get so good valued unusual items I can find in my usual shopping spree. :) I'll go back just to poke around when I have a ton of time, but other than that... I love shopping at TJ Maxx and I especially enjoyed venturing into the Home Goods part of this store. Beautiful Christmas decorations; snow globes, pillows, towels, Santas, Angels. If I hadn't of gotten most of my Christmas presents, this would be the place to take care of all of my shopping needs. They have some cute winter sweaters right now and also some nice quality sweaters for going out to those Christmas and New Years parties. Love the silver and gemstone jewerly they've got. This TJMaxx HomeGoods store is PHENOMENAL. They have SO MUCH STUFF. The shelves are always packed with goodies like cooking ware, serve-ware, platters, and decor. And that's just on the HomeGoods side! The clothing side is expansive as well. I usually come here to find things for work but almost always end up finding something niche and unique for my own personal style. They have such a wide variety of different aesthetics to choose from, so there truly is something for everyone. While some of the items can be a little pricey still, there's always things that I find that are a steal! And they're always discounting things further and moving things around to fit the new seasons. The staff is friendly and helpful and they always have a ton of registers open to expedite the checkout process. I'm obsessed with this store! read more

I usually LOVE T J Maxx but I bought Viking Pans/ Pots here and for what I paid... they are the WORST. They aren't non stick and we can't cook with them. All the oil and butter we try to use to prevent sticking. It doesn't work. All I can say is, DO NOT buy Viking pans from here. They aren't worth the money. read more

I discovered a HomeGoods store (attached to TJ Maxx's) while on a Christmas visit back home in NJ. There, the HomeGoods left me salivating with all sorts of bargains - good thing I was heading back west by plane, otherwise I would have spent too much money. I did buy an adorable pair of Mary Jane Merrells, originally $95 down to $40. Then I discovered that there was one in Reno, so off I go. This particular store was large and had almost the same kind of goods as the NJ store. I ended up walking out with a beautiful serving plate originally priced at $29 on clearance for $5. I also picked up two fancy Italian lemon drinks for about $4 each. They came in a beautiful glass bottle with the old-fashioned wire snap closures. Their kitchen department has some good bargains if you're looking for high quality cookware. So go, paw through things, pick things up, put them back, come back 15 minutes later and throw them in your cart. Hard to walk out empty-handed. read more

I think this store is a little small. Maybe because they're combining TJMaxx and Homegoods together but I think there could be more inventory. The shopping center is in a really good location. This is quickly becoming a 'go-to' store for me for a few items: purses, luggage, gifts and cosmetic supplies. The store is huge and has lots to offer. I can't say I've had great luck finding clothing here but that could just be my unique taste. But, what I have found more than makes up for that! I have found great travel bags and luggage as well as purses at rock bottom prices. I've also had great luck finding cosmetic supplies here; make up brushes and applicators and some odds and ends like high quality mascara (again at very low prices). I have made 2-3 gift baskets that looked amazing yet were not over the top expensive. I started at the far end of the store (passed the checkout stands and food items) in the basket and boxes section. I choose a basket and then had a great time filling it! Spa things, mugs, sweet treats, teas, cozy socks, etc. The gifts were well received and so much fun to put together. The only gripes I have about the store are that the return policy is a bit too strict for my liking. A travel bag I purchased here broke on my first trip with it and they were unable to exchange the item. Also, a small annoying thing are the alarms in the purse section which go off frequently if you move a bag the wrong way while browsing. The issue is not the alarms being there but rather that they are too sensitive and the staff are very slow to respond and reset them making for a rather jarring purse shopping experience at times. Disorganized, mislabled goods, unfriendly employees. I bought what the package said to be a King size duvet. When I got it home it was actually a TWIN size. The round trip to the store is approximately 20 miles x 2 for a $24.00 item. Employees are unfriendly, talk about each other in front of customers. Manager seems to be unfriendly which more than likely sets the mood and pace of all other employees. I found many of their items to be not so much of a bargin. Instead this store seems to have higher end prices on much of their stuff. read more

I always find myself loving this store when I'm inside but always forget it's here. They have a great assortment of almost anything you need for the home including rugs, lamps, trinkets, candles, salt and pepper shakers, coasters, cook wear and so much more. It's nice to come in here and know I'll always find something unique that I usually won't find at any of the other home stores. After searching for the perfect lamps to compliment our new couches and tables I finally found some at a reasonable price and I'm very happy with them! It was hard to limit myself and not go crazy and buy all the stuff I really wanted. 4 stars instead of 5 because it's a bit crazy and disorganized and BUSY. I do enjoy Home Goods and TJ Maxx, wish they were separate stores, but oh well. 1) Not to be picky but the lighting in much of this store is very poor. I find myself picking up items and trying to find a place in the store where I can actually SEE the color, etc. I feel like I'm shopping in the dark. Not a uplifting shopping experience. 2). I have encountered a very unpleasant employee at this location that apparently resents having to fold and refold towels in the bath dept. and NO I wasn't messing up the towel displays. I'm not very happy with the cashier who tended to us. I don't know if it's just me but our cashier didn't seem to like us. The cashier we had, an elderly Caucasian woman, didn't say hello to us upon arriving to the checkout stand. She scanned our things and I'm trying to use Apple Pay in which she tells us their TJ maxx does not accept Apple Pay but only Samsung pay. So I pull out my wallet, thankfully I brought my debit card. I insert my debit card and she abruptly says that my card declines. Loud enough for other customers and cashiers to hear. So she processed it as credit and it goes through. I did not authorize for her to process my payment as credit. I wanted to try debit again. I felt very humiliated that day and we even went to another tj maxx that evening and my card goes through as debit just fine. TJ Maxx on Kietzke, please hire new people. My boyfriend and I come from Fallon so we don't often go to the city to do casual shopping like this, so it caught us off guard that a random cashier, especially an elderly lady who you would think would be a sweet one, would be such a b--. read more

Tj Maxx just gets better and this is a great location with friendly and helpful staff. I am a classic procrastinator on Christmas shopping so after yoga class last night I spent about two hours here getting last-minute gifts and they still had lots of nice things to choose from. I picked up designer leather gloves, a warm scarf, brand-name men's slippers, a warm men's pullover, Italian leather journals, a Christmas sweater (not an ugly one!), and a fluffy throw for right under $200. Bargain shopping and treasure hunting at its best. There was a rather festive (and desperate) air to the goings-on, as shoppers carefully perused items. For those of us who love to do our shopping last minute, there's not a better place to buy high-end giftables at great prices. read more

Don't get me wrong, I love shopping at tj maxx. They have a great selection of items and I always end up spending a fortune. It sucks that customer service lacks so much. I recently made an online purchase and went back into the store because some of the clothing didn't fit me so I wanted store credit. I brought the shipping label, online order confirmation, receipt, and items WITH their tags. The store associate asked me if I had the clear shipping bag as well. Obviously I didn't keep the shipping packaging, who ever does? So she called her manager and the manager told her on the phone that she couldn't accept my return because they cannot verify that the items are TJ Maxx. On the back of the receipt, it states that I am able to return items with either the shipping receipt OR online confirmation email. I had both but she refused. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me that there is only one manager who works upstairs, but doesn't come down. I left very upset. Few minutes after, I decided to call the store and ask to speak to the manager. The manager was very nice and told me she would return the items if I came back. She also let me know that they do not have an upstairs. Now I have to waste my time and gas to go make a return that should have been accepted the first time. read more

While I love TJ MAXX and am a frequent shopper and card holder, this store always has issues when I have an online return. They literally don't know how to do it. I was there for 30 minutes trying to do 2 simple online returns with receipts! The first girl clearly couldn't figure it out, so after 15 minutes I asked her to call someone else. She at first said there was no one else and when I pressed she asked the other cashier to take over. Then she takes over and same thing, after 10 minutes I was so irritated I asked her to call a manager or supervisor. She too was hesitating and again I had to press her and she finally did. Christine the manager came and boom, like magic showed her. She also seemed irritated at the cashier. After she walked away the girl just giggled and apologized. Do they not get any training on this? I can imagine there is high turnover here but come on returns should be basic training, and if they don't know something, they should be encouraged to reach out to their resources like their sup/manager and not wait for the customer to repeatedly ask. Probably the last time I shop online just to avoid this. read more

You got me again, TJ Maxx! I thought I would be able to quickly run in and snag a trash can for my kitchen and run out... WRONG! Of course I took a detour through the clothing department on my way back to the home goods, that was my first mistake. Before I knew it I had 6 shirts, 2 pairs of workout pants, and a pair of Guess wedges in my hands. I went to try it all on and narrowed it down to 4 shirts, 1 pair of workout pants, and the super cute Guess wedges. Off to the home goods part I go! Crap, one of the associates asked if I would like a cart. It's all downhill from here as I take one from her. I knew I was screwed. I started going through every single isle putting random things that I knew I didn't need into the cart. BUT ITS ALL SUCH A GOOD DEAL! I made my rounds to the corner of the store where I found an isle for pets. I can't believe the quality of toys they have for such a low price! I paid $3.99 for each toy that would've been marked up to $15-$20 at Petsmart! Seriously, I'm never going to Petsmart for dog toys again. So many things caught my eye that I almost walked out without my darn trash can. read more

I suggested going here to a friend who is decorating his new house. I had hoped he could find some small furniture items he was seeking, but we were unimpressed by both the selection, which was very French Country, and the prices, which did not seem terribly discounted, unless 25% off for nicer freight outlet stuff trips your trigger. However, this store has a very nice selection of artwork, and since his house is new, he needs artwork. $100 bought three large nice pieces of art (approximately 2 X 3 ft). We were impressed with the metal wall artwork too, but didn't find anything we thought was good for his house. I purchased a micro-fiber blanket throw for $18, but it wasn't a great buy. The same blanket at Costco is only $14. For candle lovers, there's something super-cool here. They are pillar candles that are self lit by tiny bulbs located halfway down. These bulbs flicker and the candle looks as though it's burning. I like this sort of thing for mood baths, and other mood lighting when you don't want to worry that the candle could start a fire. Also great for the holidays when you turn out the lights and let the tree dominate your living room. These fake candles (2 for $10) will fit right in. at 8:30 PM, ease of check out was not so much. The register open was in the corner and hauling the artwork over there, where it was a front-loading counter-style register, as opposed to the side, was a hassle because there wasn't room to set the paintings down, and barely enough room to scan them at the register. read more

"Home Goods" is right but they have so much more! About half of their store is clothing, purses, baggage, personal items and the other half home goods. And Home Goods meaning just about 'everything' else. There are decent values to be had here if you know what you are looking for! They have major brand names including The North Face, Ralph Lauren, etc...just check out the other reviews as I'm not a brand name know it all. They've also got pet supplies, olive oils, seasonings, barware, outdoor décor...you name it, you can find it here. The staff have always been friendly and helpful on my visits. And the prices normally can't be beat. They have a clearance section if you're really searching for a 'deal'. The one piece of advice I can give about shopping here is don't think twice! If you think you want/need the item, buy it!! I found some towels I thought I liked but wasn't sure if they would match our décor. I bought 1 to test out and returned a week later to purchase more after finding that it did match, only to find that they were already all gone. Some items are 'seconds', so you want to watch for bad stitching and such on your shirts or other clothing items. I bought some undershirts that were not sewn properly. Overall this is a great place to find good deals on everyday items for your home or for yourself. Their stock is always changing so you may find items that you will never see again, when there is doubt, there is no doubt, put it in your cart! read more

This seem so silly to write a review for this store, but they have so many great pieces of furniture and knick-knacks for your home. I am in Reno every so often hanging out with my family who live here and of course I love to shop up here because 1- there are no crowds 2- things aren't as picked over as the Bay Area 3- prices and sales tax seem to be better. I found a cool looking cabinet and some random things for my husband and I's new house, I'm so excited! I love coming to this store. The one in San Carlos can't even compare. I only stopped in here because they had an awesome patio display. Of course that lured my interest to the inside of the store. Ever go into a store and realize you should have gone here before? Yup that was me. Located a nice bookcase for my house. Jyst tge right size and color. And the price was very reasonable. This is mostly a clothing store but tucked away in the back of the store are the specialty items. That area reminds me of pier one imports, but less pricey. My only complaint was the long lines at the register. It appears that they were mostly new cashiers getting on the job training. But, worth the wait read more
