This is a good Home goods. Nice selection. They put out new items every day. Service is not friendly. They hardly ever smile or even look at you in the face. They do not wrap items well. I've came home twice on two occasions and fragile items I purchased were broke or chipped during transit. I did buy my Kings size bed frame here at an amazing price. I think price is at a good rate. Parking is awful. Store is well organized. I give it a 3 out of 5 due to convenience of having to return items that they did not wrap well. Long lines. Unfriendly workers and parking is bad. Other than that I come here on a weekly basis and enjoy my treasures I find. read more

I love me some TJ Maxx! It's like Ross, but a little higher end. This is my go-to place for purses & sunglasses! I've found some really nice home accent pieces here, as well. Nice selection of a variety of depts -- home, kitchen, men's clothing,...Good prices if you spend some time looking for things. Nice and clean place -- but could use some help in organizing some of the shelves and aisles. Plus the store needs to tell customers (and potential customers) NOT to open packages or throw things, clothes on the Ground! C'mon people -- that only increases the prices for all of us. Someone has to pick-up after you and we pay for it. Definitely go when it's not too busy -- the aisles can get crowded -- and there are some people who are just too pushy with their carts. Love the set-up for checking out! Great system. Very organized -- wish all stores would do that. It speeds it up for both the customer and the store. read more

I am rating this T J Maxx in relation to the many other stores of the chain at which I have shopped. I have only been in this particular store twice, but my initial impression is that it is pretty good for a small city like Reno. The store is neat and well-stocked, the prices are good (like most TJ Maxx stores) and this is also a TJ Maxx Home store...which carries a larger stock of items with which you can decorate your home. I bought a gorgeous lilac Italian designer hand bag from Marco Buggiani for only $179.00. His purses can be found at department stores like Bloomingdales for considerably more...say $300 and up. It was an amazing deal for such a well-made, beautiful hand bag. I've had many compliments on it, and have only been carrying it for a little over a week. They also had some Dooney and Bourke and Franco Biasia purses one day when I was there. In conclusion, I would suggest shoping at this T J Maxx Home store for designer hand bags, bedding, bathroom items, and athletic gear, such as snow boarding jackets and pants, goggles, hats and mittens, and long underwear. They have a decent selection of all of the above, as well as some of-the-moment fashion clothing items. read more

Big store with huge amounts of stuff. No sales staff to help you. Not a very good selection of holiday attire or dresses. They don't have very much on clearance sale here. On the expensive side. But they do have a nice big selection of dog clothing and toys at very reasonable prices. read more

My husband and I shop here for home items - kitchen supplies, decor, small furniture, etc. As with most discount stores, this store is hit or miss. Sometimes we find dozens of items, and sometimes we leave empty handed. When we do find items, they are good quality and a great price. There is definitely a wide range of quality, but it's up to you to be a good shopper and find the best stuff! Specifically, they have great glass ware - we filled up our bar with an assortment of rocks glasses and shot glasses, and found some nice vases. They also have great large fake trees at great prices. They are really nice, not plastic and cheap looking. When we bought our house, we got lots of knick knacks and random home items, and we get tons of compliments on them. read more

4 stars for the variety in their kitchenware section. 2-3 stars for everything else. I think of TJ Maxx as a Ross or Marshalls and generally speaking things are rather unorganized including this store location. I went in here with no objective other than to browse around since I saw their sale sign posted on their window. I went inside and was drawn away from the clothes and the messy look of the store overall. However, I saw some $1.99 and $9.99 and under signs for kitchen items and thought I check it out. It's a bit of a gold mine- test your luck and maybe you'd find your pot of gold, but I found a Cuisineart kitchen scrub for $3.99 and some items made by Simple Human for about 1/3 of the cost of its retail which is great considering Simple Human never goes on sale. They also had a good selection of cookware, kitchen utensils, and even salad spinners by Kitchen Aid and other brands that places like Bed Bath & Beyond would sell for more. Customer service isn't that great and is probably 2-3 stars. It's a self service store and if you have the patience, you may find some great things. If it matters, they also have a bathroom in case you need to go while shopping. read more

Holy over the top and unnecessary security precautions Batman! I went to a Louis Vuitton in Vegas a few years back. It was pretty cool in there. The whole place smelled of beautiful, warm leather and the gold brass glimmered against the walls much how I imagine an Egyptian Pharaohs crown would have done. At the entrance there were two large men who looked like they were sculpted with inspiration being drawn from the Statue of David. They stood stiffly upright against either side of the entrance walls and wore finely pressed black shirts and black pants with ear buds. They said nothing and they didn't move - but their eyes were watching every patron in the store. This makes sense when you are shopping at an establishment that charges over $200.00 for a keychain. This memory was floating through my mind very vividly last night - then out of nowhere I heard "mom....mom.....MOM!" - I snapped back to reality and realized my 16 year old was staring at me with a huge look of irritation on his face. "Are you going to buy it or what?" came out of his mouth next. I was in TJ Maxx on Kietzke Lane in Reno. I was not in the Louis Vuitton store. I had just finished browsing the purses and found a cute purple Kate Spade that I was considering purchasing. The problem was that this particular location has many of their purses attached to anti theft cables so you have to ask an employee to unlock it and then that employee can't allow you to leave the purse section and actually watches you while you look at it. I like to take my time before I purchase a bag. This particular one was a good deal - it retailed $398.00 and was marked at $149.00. I wasn't sure that I wanted another handbag rather as opposed to a shoulder bag and I like to walk around with my purse selections while I do other shopping before I commit. But in this instance I was forced to stand next to the cheap 3 way mirror and make a quick decision while the employee watched me with her TJ Maxx eagle eye. I asked her to hold it for me and continued throughout the store. They have a good shoe selection which was really fun to see. The clothing section is full of variety. I thought that the Home Décor area was a bit lacking in canvas prints. They had a couple of framed floral items and some metal pieces but nothing great. Customer service was great. I felt bad for the poor purse lady who had to stand by as I tried to make a decision. She was very nice about it and never once conveyed the slightest bit of annoyance but it was a waste of her time and I could tell she had work to do. The store is clean and huge and you could spend hours inside looking for hidden treasures. Ultimately I decided to buy the bag. I took it home and actually spent the time I needed to look at it and make a full decision. I'll be taking it back today - I can't look at it without thinking about anti theft cables and over the top unnecessary safety precautions. I like the Sparks store better - if the day ever comes when they put cables on their bags I will cry. read more

This review is about the staff-particularily the younger ones in this store. I shop there a LOT and I never get a pleasant word out of any of them when I go into the store. Never a smile and barely a hello. I was in there yesterday and bought half a dozen heavy glass jars of jam and some other heavy glass jars of spices, sauces, candies, pasta's etc. The young woman at the checkout lumped my purchases all into the same plastic carrier bag and handed it to me. She didn't care if the bag would have torn at the seams from the weight of it halfway across the parking lot on my way to my car. But I did. When I asked that she put it in an additional bag, I got a scowl. I guess I really put her out. The older ladies at the store are so much more pleasant and courteous and I enjoy their cheerful personalities. They make it a pleasure to shop there. I love the great selection of spices, sauces and jams this store offers, but they need to train their staff (the younger ones) some customer service skills. read more

I've always loved TJ Maxx / Homegoods for the cool home accessories you can pick up on the cheap! So I've been haunting the place for the past couple of weeks to score a large wool rug for my family room. I've bought many a rug from TJ Maxx and believe you me, they are a bargain! So finally, my mom and I go in to look for lamps and art for her and what do my wondering eyes spy? Just the perfect handtufted Indian wool rug, in the perfect size and the most perfect colors! And what's even better, the most perfect price! They even helped us out with it and got it into the car (I was sure it wasn't going to fit)! Persistence does pay off! read more

Great selection of handbags, jewelry and home decor. My girls found name brand jeans for $10! I found a Dooney and Burke that I had seen previously in another store for $350 and TJ Maxx had it for $150! I have also found some really funky cool jewelry for cheap. It is a little crammed and always crowded though. The staff are unhelpful if not just plain rude. If the prices weren't so low, I wouldn't step foot in this store again. read more

T J Maxx is a more expensive Ross. You can find name brands for sometimes a quarter of the price. My husband found some ties here that were a name-brand, but only $10 each! We looked for area rugs here the other day, but they didn't have quite the selection they had the first time that we went there. They have everything from clothes to furniture to food. Don't go trying to find something specific, but if you know you just want some art or a new lamp--you never know what you might find! read more

I need nothing really since I have one of everything ever made, but if I did this is an interesting place in finding sparkling items to set upon ones shelves or cute little chairs and such. I guess the clothing too is well represented but rarely do I look at it since I am wearing the same stuff I have been wearing for ten years. I have been a loyal customer of TJ Maxx for many years now and the service was good enough before. However, couple weeks ago I bought a rug at the Reno TJ Maxx. It was shedding a lot, and after two weeks I decided to return it. Desember 15, I brought the rug with the receipt to the store. The manager was rude and yelled at me that she will not take the rug back. The main reason for the return of the carpet is its factory defect and low quality. Wool from the carpet is scattered throughout the house and soils clothes. This quality carpet can not be overdone it should only be disposed of. By refusing to take the carpet back, the manager indicated that it was used. If we cannot resolve this issue peacefully, I will appeal to the court and will defend my rights in court. Please provide me with the name of the manager and contact details for obtaining a subpoena. read more

They sold me a pair of shoes that had two left shoes and refused to return them because they were on sale when I bought them. They wouldn't even exchange them for a pair that had both of the correct feet. Very disappointed in the customer service, would not recommend shopping here! read more

Eh... I like the variety they offer, but the isles are too tiny and are difficult to maneuver through. I found a cute pink little clutch by BeBe for only $15! I like the home decor part of the shoot and all of the kitchen stuff. You may have to weed through some of the stuff that customers didn't put away right, but I've always found treasure. read more

I experienced some of the worst customer service possible from the store manager Linda. I purchased a suitcase that said it was a "carry on" suitcase for my flight. I don't fly very often, so I trusted what the label said and bought it. The airline told me that it was too big to be a carry on so I ended up having to pay and check the bag in. Judging by the fact that TJmaxx sold me this product with such a misleading label, I contacted this store manager to make sure I was allowed to exchange it before coming in. She essentially told me that it was NOT TJmaxx's problem and that ALL the stores carry on bags are the same size, so that I must have bought a bag that didn't say it was a carry on. (I still have the label that says it's a carry on). Then she proceeded to tell me that my flight was probably overbooked and that's why they didn't take my bag. She seemed like all she wanted to do was get me off the phone to stop bothering her because she didn't deem the situation to be worthy of any kind of resolution. I am extremely disappointed at the way she handled this situation. I feel disrespected and will no longer be bringing my business here. If not for the sake of my personal resolution but for the sake of future consumers I would like to see some sort of escalation and be contacted directly through this site read more
