Every time I go to Ross Dress for Less, there are only about 2-3 people working the registers while there are hella customers waiting in line. I understand that staffing can be limited, but Ross is a high demand store, and the company overall should recognize that and allow more employees at the registers so the store can run more smoothly and efficiently. Over the years, the product selection has definitely improved, and this location has been getting better compared to the past. It hasn't always been the best, but it's slowly improving. Overall, it's a good place to shop for deals, but the long checkout lines really need to be addressed read more

Sorry, I am not a customer... Well not anymore. Quality/Quantity - Brand names for less, but good luck finding what you want and in your size... It is a treasure hunt. Today, I only had to drive my wife back here for a return which was easy for me. Atmosphere - Decent size store, but still a treasure hunt. Amazon Locker pick-up. Open 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm or 11pm. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Self service. Well the return was smooth and easy. Price - Inexpensive, especially for brand names. But again, they are only good if you can find what you need or want in your size. After leaving Homegoods in the same shopping center, my daughter and I decided to stop here. Their selection is not as good but still found a couple of things worth purchasing. Main complaint was the check out line, which was crazy! Why so crazy long? Only 2 employees handling check outs and returns. For it being a Saturday afternoon that is either poor scheduling or that's what they think of their customers to cut cost and left customers wait. I like to get quality apparel and luggage at a massive discount. There are better days to visit like during the week and early to avoid the crowds. They do check receipts at the door but they a quick about it. Team members I have dealt with have been pleasant and helpful. Great value and I visit often. read more

I've always just loved Ross! This location is very convenient for me because their are other stores in the strip mall that I also love to shop at. Today I was a particular mission to buy Joe a certain size suitcase for our upcoming trip to Japan. It was funny because they had dozens and dozens in this exact size as he wanted. Since I was there I decided to look for a new bench or stool for our master closet that we just recently had remodeled. There we're gigantic drawers in there that once they were removed/ replaced left a ton of room. They had many different options for stools. What I found strange is many of them were dirty especially the white ones. The one I liked didn't have a price so I asked and was told it was $35. It did have a stain on it which made it not worth it. I went right when it opened and it was a delight to shop around without crowds. A employee named Earnest was very helpful to me so I wanted to mention him. The prices here are always such a great deal. I was sad to see that hangers I had purchased on Amazon were less here and I was bummed. I had decided to get rid of all my plastic hangers and go with wood and felt only. I was able to pick up a couple of other things I need for my upcoming vacation. I love the kitchen supply section also. I've purchased several rug runners over the years and sometimes I get the exact same one that needs replacement. It's funny to me that they still have the same pattern. This is a great place to get baskets for any need. For gift giving I love to give a theme basket and fill it with goodies. I consider myself a pretty clever gift giver :) The baskets can be recycled and given over and over. I've literally given up using wrapping paper. This store always has a great selection of things to choose from. It receives items weekly. They work hard to keep their shelves stocked and organized. The staff is always busy and professional. They are nice and helpful. If there is something you need and you can't find it ask an associate for assistance. They will be happy to help you out in anyway possible. Their bathrooms are clean. In a pinch this place has had what we needed but the lines are always long. When we needed sweats, slippers, another doggie bed and random snacks this Ross has helped with the random items that did not make it or we needed a new one. read more

I appreciate the fact that the store cleans carts and the counter at checkout. Most of all that they have a big tub of sanitizer that the customers can use at the main door. After using the credit card machine I like to clean my fingers and hands. It would be even better if they let customers use them at the checkout counter. I like the variety in the store and the amount of toys they carry plus the art supplies. I buy a little of everything in this store on a regular basis. I look here before I shop at other stores. Things are better in recent years with a Security Guard who walks around the store. In years past, kids would play with everything in the store opening boxes too. It seemed to be a babysitting service for parents but that is under control now so nicer experience. This store gets quite busy so I try to shop early. Lately, the shelves have not been full of merchandise and I have literally walked out of the store with nothing. They are not keeping the store stocked full like in the past. Their selection is random but unlike most other locations this one usually have items in my size especially shoes and sometimes hats but most of all its all about the "Selections" that draw me here. My husband and I go here quite often. Too often that even the security guards know us now. The selection is pretty good. If you just moved out and need kitchen tools, this is a great place to go for a fraction of the price you get in other stores. I wish I could give this place zero stars. I went there once... had a horrible experience waiting nearly 20 minutes to be checked out, and somehow I went back. The staff there is overly entitled and rude, possibly some of the worse costumer service I have ever experienced at a Ross. Do these people understand that they work in service ? I went there looking for a track suit, I asked the stock girl if there was another section with activewear, she states "juniors" I ask "where?" She says " the front." Ross is amazing. This is the best Ross in Reno. It's clean. The sales associates are nice. This is the only place I can find clothing I like. They have other things besides women's clothing. They hand clothes for all ages, Shoes, toys, kitchen gadgets, and more.... They have a return policy here to if that is something your in need of. I know some store do not have return policies. They have dressing room to try clothing on!!! Alway a bonus. They are located right off the freeway which is convenient! Their park lot space however are small. But I don't think they have much control over that. read more

Unlike the branch on McCarran (see my other review) this RDFL actually has stuff to sell. It's your typical branch, with clothing, housewares, and other stuff, all at budget prices. I came in to try to exchange some slippers that I got for Christmas that were the wrong size. The selection of slippers was almost non existent! I really needed new slippers so I really did not look at anything else. When I went to return them since they had been bought with a charge card I had to either take a store credit or put it on my card. I would have rather had cash but oh well. This Ross has gone awful!! They actually have armed guards standing at the front with shirts that say "loss prevention" on the back. How tacky is that!!! My two teenage girls love this store. I finally figured out why! You can buy a POS shirt and then just throw it away! They can wear a new shirt everyday! Considering they fall apart after one wearing or at least one washing. The few things I have bought for myself have gone to crap after two wearings and never quite get thier shape back after washing. It is a fun place to people watch though. I actually saw two older ladies fighting over a nightgown. Now you can't beat that!! The staff is too rude for words. There is very little merchandise to select from. The wait for the sole cashier was very long. I was jostled and pushed around on the line by a huge, inattentive mother with several unruly and spoiled kids...then when I asked the older female cashier why such a long wait, I was told no $ for payroll hence no workers. wth, give me break from this place. This Ross is located in a good location. Service is friendly, but lines are long at times. Not a huge selection of WOMANS clothing. I shop here only if I have an hour to browse. Usually I only leave with one item. Today I walked in and stood in return line. I had my daughter hold my spot. I was browsing the items they keep up front and was asked twice if I had a return. I said yes and they told me I needed to stand in the return line. I told them my daughter was holding my spot and I was browsing. They should consider moving this stuff back from the lines so people could look. read more

I enjoy shopping at Ross because the prices are very good, but sometimes the selection is not the best. This time all thhe racks were full and they had a nice selection. Also you must come in often t see what they have, as it changes each week. This Ross was very clean and the staff was friendly. I was greeted by the cashier, who was helping someone, when i walked in. Also she said thanks for coming in when I left, even though I did not buy anything. Again she was with someone at her register. The only thing that bothered my a bit, but I understand why, was when I was looking at wallets. The "Loss Prevention" guy was watching me very close. I know it could be easy to steel a wallet, but he could have been more discreet about whatching me. read more

I have to agree with all the posts about the security at Ross (all Ross stores now). It's one thing to have loss prevention staff to help your business save money, but over-aggressive, watch every move you make security staff are intrusive and rude. I don't think I look like your typical shoplifter (maybe I do?? LOL), and the day I shopped for almost two hours I spent over $225. I caught the security guy watching me several times. It is creepy and makes someone want to go somewhere they can shop in peace. I've worked retail. I know you have to be aware of the shoppers, but come on, you're not a detective in hot pursuit of a hardened criminal. At another Ross store, I (not willingly) overheard the security guard, a clerk, and what I think might have been a manager (!) flirting and talking about some really personal things LOUDLY. Not cool. And to Meg Z. (another Yelper who posted here), it most certainly is the clerk's job to remove the paper filling from a bag you purchase because she is supposed to be checking that no one put anything in there with intent to steal it. You're right to be pissed about it because if the alarm had sounded at the door, you would have been blamed for sticking something in the purse you bought. read more

I walked in at 10am this morning-the door handles on their double entrance doors and the door frame area around the handles were FILTHY!!! Was on a mission trying to find the perfect coat for the Holidays. Found my idea of the perfect coat at Burlington but they did not have my size. Went to Target, bought a coat but ended up taking it bath. Was not my dream coat. Next stop Ross. The only coat in my size was a beautiful Bomber style jacket made of pleather. Bought it right before Christmas. Now it's a few days after Christmas and my husband Guy points out to me that the coat is really wrinkled. I go on line and look up every possible hack to get wrinkles out of pleather. They all fail miserably. I just went back to Ross with that coat, no receipt, no tags and asked to speak to the manager. The manager is a young male with dark hair and black framed glasses. I tell him of my plight. He literally says go find what you need, no problem. WOW! You won't believe it, but there was my Camouflage coat, in my size, hanging there waiting for me. Oh the irony! They exchanged my coat and after all that I ended up with my Dream coat after all. At the cash wrap, I asked the cashier to remove the stuffing in the purse. She said, "Oh no, you can do that. That's not my job." What an asshole. This Ross is in a convenient location close to many other stores and restaurants in Reno. Today I went in and noticed that maybe they recently re-stocked since there was a good variety in items. I bought three items and the associate that rang me up was having a side conversation with another associate. The focus she had on speaking with the other person unfortunately allowed her to open up the transaction with a greeting as well as asking if I had found everything I needed. I honestly am not one for small talk, so I didn't mind too much, however it's just one of those things you already expect as a courtesy. It wasn't until I got home and realized she failed to put one of the items I paid for in the bag. I called right away and another associate answered and took care of me over the phone. She also checked to see if I could go to another location closer to my home to get the item but they said no because it's a security measure. As nice as she was over the phone and let me know my item would be ready for me to pick up within 30 days there really was no accountability for the store or her co-workers' mistake. read more

Good grief Ross just totally sucks. Their selection is awful. What has happened to this chain in the past 5-yrs?!? It just gets worse every year. The clothing is just terrible. It's seriously all the reject clothes from a Goodwill or close to it. I'm done shopping at Ross. This Ross is no different - always bad selection, a complete dirty mess and I get sick of the high level (ha ha) security always making customers feel like they've stolen something before you even get thru the front door. Major thumbs down. Would not be shocked to see Ross hit BK in the next 2-3 years. Oh and their return line is a joke - always a big major deal to return something. God forbid the tag not match the actual description in their computer! Cuz if it don't they make you feel like you switched something out to return instead. I feel like Ross is a hit or miss store. Some Ross' I've been to have the chaos of a thrift store and others have the appeal of a department store. I think my reason, for shopping at Ross, is the same as everyone else's: the prices! You can get affordable, cute clothing, shoes and accessories for the home, at half the price of many places. I came here, most recently, in search of a dress. The store was clean and very well organized. Most sizes were all in their right locations. I found a ton of dresses, I loved, in just a matter of minutes and of course, I wanted to try them on! They have a ton of changing rooms, for both the men and women, which makes shopping all that much easier. They have a pretty large variety of stuff, in all their departments, but it is the luck of the find, as it is at many stores. Their children's section was wonderful! I found a bunch of Carter's stuff, at a third of the price it would be at a couple of the other stores I shop at, for kid's clothing. They had a clearance section with things marked down to just a couple dollars. Their home section is cute. I love their wall art. If you're looking to spice up a bland wall, for cheap, this is a great place to go! They had two cashiers working and even though there was a bit of a line, they busted everyone out in no time! The cashier, who rang me up, was polite and quick. The loss prevention guard, standing at the front door, seemed like he worked more as a greeter but he was kind and sociable as we were on our way in and out of the store. It turns out the dress, I purchased, had a tear in it and upon asking if I could return it, they were polite and helpful, as they answered my questions! I think this Ross store is very well-ran! I brought 3 bras same sizes not knowing the brand have small size than usual i got home took out the tag on one to try it on and it does not fit after 2hours i came back with the receipt trying to change it for bigger size but they did not accept the one that i take the tag out HELLO its only been 2hours ohhh but all the lingerie has to have the tag on its even say at the back of the receipt one of their cashier said but when you read the back it said have all the ticket attached...what is the ticket..not very happy no wonder i dont go to this Ross read more
