Very cute holiday themed shop where you can find a lot of beautiful ornaments, wreaths, and everything Christmas. The people that work there are very helpful and friendly, and if money is no object you can definitely come out of there with a nice selection of things. The reason for three stars is that for what they are offering, the prices are sky high. Even when they are on sale (especially the seasonal wreaths) many items are wildly overpriced. And secondly, if you're looking for truly unique or handcrafted items, I didn't find much in that category. Still, if you are in the area, especially around the holidays, it's a cute shop and could provide some decor ideas and inspiration. read more

What a great store! First time popping in here to see their holiday event. It was so fun. The store was filled with so many Christmas items. I was overwhelmed and excited. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed myself. Some items seemed pricey but I guess that's to be expected at what I'd call a boutique specialty type store. I'm sure they must do similar set ups for other seasons and holidays. I look forward to going back and seeing more they have to offer. read more

This is one of my favorite stores in Reno. Whether it is spring, summer, fall or winter, the home decor and displays here are next level. I've started taking my friends and family here and now when they come into town they ask if I can take them back to the "christmas store!" The ornaments and tree displays are so beautiful, my christmas tree is always so unique because of the treasures I find in this store. The staff is so helpful, they go the extra mile to locate certain items, take their time to make sure your purchase is perfect and even help you find items you may not have noticed that go amazing with the items you've selected. This is not the dollar store, and you will spend a little more here for your treasures, BUT these items are quality and will last for years. When I have a bad day or just need a little boost of happiness, I come here. This store gives me a little boost of dopamine that just makes me feel good. A must. read more

This is a darling shop, especially around the holidays. When November rolls around I make a beeline to this shop. As soon as I walk in I have a huge smile on my face looking at all the beautiful decorations. You can't help but get into the holiday spirit. I was in this shop yesterday and will return over the weekend to gawk and perhaps buy a thing or two! Be sure to sign up to their email list. I used to like this place. However recently I went in to either return or exchange a Christmas ornament. Unfortunately they have a "policy" of no returns or exchanges. Well.... I would have 100% spent MORE MONEY if they would have allowed an exchange or offered a credit. I feel like this policy is really poor customer service. We stopped in to The Freckled Frog during a trip to Reno. While waiting to meet friends, we decided to walk through the store. I'm so glad we did! The store was just full of great decorator items. Everything was great quality, and fair prices. I ended up with an adorable fall colored gnome. Everyone was friendly, the store was just beautifully organized and decorated. It was pouring rain out, and we kind of ran in here just to peek around because we'd never even heard of this place before today. The moment we step inside this little haven, this nice older guy (I'm guessing he may be the owner) warmly welcomes us and offers us warm beverages - what would we like? Really?? Awwww!!! And then he promptly went to fill our order gratis! This place is JUST LOVELY in that the atmosphere is so warm and genuinely kind, as well as it being just gorgeous visually too. My kiddo, after peaking around for a minute, announced "This reminds me of all the pretty shops in Truckee!". So true! Just a beautifully decorated gift boutique full of lots of classy decorations. There were so many simply delightful little treasures in this store! There are creative and pretty gifts for the kitchen, bath products, small and larger decor. This is a place I see working mothers shopping at for special decor or special presents for friends. The price point is extremely reasonable for the quality of goods they are selling here too. This is not generic merchandise - it's really good quality brands. We loved our first experience here and will be back happily soon! read more

If I could give this store NO stars, I would. I've shopped at this store in the past, and while my experience hasn't been great, it has never been as bad as it was yesterday. They have two stores: The Freckled Frog and The Freckled Frog Two Doors Down. I went into both, and was absolutely ignored in both stores. The weird thing was that in both stores, everyone else who came through the door was greeted and chased down to see if they needed assistance. This was not at all my personal experience - instead, I was completely and utterly disregarded. The was a skinny blonde woman who was helping and talking to everyone BUT me, even though she walked by me several times. And when I finally made a decision on what I wanted, a heavier set older blondish lady at the counter wouldn't wait on me. I was in line to checkout, and she was ending a transaction with two ladies in front of me (one was German). She was chatting about Germany, etc., and as soon as she ended the transaction and I moved forward, she left the counter (didn't say "I'll be right back to get you" or anything), and started asking different shoppers if she could be of any assistance. WTF? i was RIGHT there and I obviously needed assistance to purchase my items. When she returned, she didn't say boo to me. Just rang up my stuff, and started talking to another cashier. She completely ignored me. She didn't even bag my stuff - the other lady stepped in to assist, because the older heavyset lady couldn't be bothered. Apparently I wore the wrong clothes that day - I thought back to the other times I was in the store, and I had come from work so I had on nice clothes. On Saturday I wore jeans - maybe that was their issue with me. Every lady or man who walked in dressed to the nines got immediate attention. I, on the other hand, was completely and utterly ignored for the whole 35 minutes I was in the store. I noticed they treated a Hispanic woman and her daughter the same way - ignoring them completely while they fawned over other customers. I will NEVER go to this store again. In the past I've promoted it to friends, I've bought gifts there, etc. And while I was never treated that well, I certainly wasn't given the cold shoulder like I was yesterday. If you're well dressed, you'll probably enjoy it here. But if by any chance you are in your weekend jeans and T-shirt, be prepared to be ignored. Apparently our money isn't as good as others. And I'm so effin' mad at myself for completing my purchase. i shouldn't have given them any of my money. read more

Adorable shop, especially for the holidays! I was warmly greeted by a nice gal who promptly offered me my choice of coffee or hot cocoa. Such a kind gesture! Their selection is unique and quaint. I will say, though, that when I purchased my items at the register the two women who rung me up and bagged were snobbish and rude. Neither cracked a smile the whole time and THIS IS CHRISTMAS. I left feeling like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman after she shopped in Beverly Hills *the first time*. I actually went back today to return one of the items (I just didn't LOVE it). One of those same cashier ladies helped me again, still no smile. Not sure if she doesn't like working there or just doesn't like people. It makes it hard to want to come back. The folks running the place seem to be very friendly. Great small businesses are the heart of Reno, and the Freckled Frog absolutely fits that mark. Came here around Christmas time in order to find a little ornament, and left with a gorgeous ornament that will have a place on my Christmas tree the rest of my life, and just a general sense of happiness from the staff that exudes so much pride in their store. The staff walked around, answering any questions anyone had, and ever offered tea to those who were parched, which I always have found to be an amazing touch to a small business. I was also gifted a cute little glass beer sampler platter that I was eyeing previously, and it's now proudly displayed in my home. Cute little california bay area type shop, great for ca visitors and recent transplants. Decor is wonderful, staff attitudes not so much, a bit on the snobbish side. The store is very nice and the people seemed to be very friendly, the reason why I'm giving it a star is because the service was terrible. When my mom and I entered the store, the owners or employees didn't greet us at all and was too occupied with another client and they gave my mom and I a weird look. Then people start to come and the owners greet them and offer them wine, tea, and water. More people start to come and the same thing happens, they completely ignored my mom and I. My wife and I popped in yesterday on a whim after hearing what a cute place this was. We were not disappointed at all! It felt like finding buried treasure with all the various pieces throughout the store. Being a bit of a history fan I was very intrigued by where some of the pieces came from which only added to the overall allure of the store. I wasn't prepared to purchase anything (yet) but only because I wasn't expecting such a large array of items that I started thinking about where they would fit into my home. To me, this is the type of store where you have to give consideration on how to incorporate into your current décor, or perhaps you are looking to remodel altogether. They also have plenty of items that don't require such though but are simply very cool along with newer items sprinkled throughout the store. The owners were incredibly warm and inviting and very willing to engage your curiosity. There is no pressure to purchase anything so looking around is very comfortable.
