It is that time for an update. Quality/Quantity - Okay, I rarely come to his mall. Very few stores that I frequent, until now. Thanks to Trader Joes! In the past we only came here for the following: Apple Store, Lululemon (taking a break from this brand now), Starbucks (only when it is on the way). Now we have added the following business to our list: Carhartt, Mt. Rose Wine Co., Reno Running Company, etc. Also, it helps us visit some of our favorite restaurants here - Land Ocean, Skipolinis, and Miyabi. Chipotle just opened, but we are not a customer any more. And a free standing Starbucks is STILL being built. Atmosphere - Huge mall that is rarely busy. Well, they are getting busier and busier again thanks to Trader Joe. Plenty of parking. Convenient location for us, easy in and out from highways. Open 7 days a week from 10am or 11am to 6pm or 7pm. Pet friendly, see the tiny dog park/area. Free wifi, I have not used it. Service - Good. Price - Good, some might say upscale. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2006. We were happy when you built this mall, too bad we have not been big customers until now. It's trying to be an upscale "mall," but it's really just three or four short strip malls with an odd mix of shops and a wonky layout of free-standing businesses. There are a few upper middle market shop like Apple, Kendra Scott, and Tabot's. But then you have Five Below and Dillard's. It's like, do they want to be fauncy or low-brow? This mall isn't even remotely pedestrian-friendly. Large parking lots and narrow sidewalks separate shopping sections which are far apart and not easily walkable if you have a stroller, a walker or are in a wheelchair. read more

This mall has so many new restaurants and businesses. If you haven't been in a while I highly suggest that you try out the new restaurants as well as some of the old ones. For example, Edelweiss Pizza Pub Pastries and Handel's Homemade Ice Cream are both located here. Both of the establishments are worth the trip to come check them out. read more

Really nice outdoor mall. As the atea grew, more stores and restaurants landed here. Now, many people come here to shop and eat. There is a movie theatre here as well. Check it out. read more

As for rating the entire mall - I'd say outside of the Apple Store and an amazing yoga place. Sometimes I wonder who plans the tenants or if it's just let to happenstance. I don't think anyone opens at this mall until like 10 in the morning. There is zero breakfast restaurants in the center. There are several food places but they are all lunch and dinner. Zero early breakfast options and stores don't open until mid day. But everyone can relax and be satisfied that Starbucks built a new location there with a drive through so help can list them under breakfast and "open" - yuck! Want to scale up the center - being people in for breakfast in the morning - real food - not Reno booze breakfasts- actual real family food. Then mandate in the least that the stores be open at a reasonable time so people can shop after they eat breakfast. Just an idea. read more

I don't know of other outdoor malls that have a medical facility, but I love it! So many happy memories of my purchases at the Apple Store! My newest experience at Bath & Bodywork's.. My favorite sushi! My theaters, BJ's... and I hear a new wing place.. Travel time for me ... 8 minutes... 3miles! I like the open space of this mall and it's gotten better, in my opinion, with more stores and restaurants. Love the convenience of it being so close. I recently went to the Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday. Wow, was it packed with families, food trucks, vendors, carolers. That was really fun and I am glad they put on this show for us South Reno-ites who sometime like the convenience of staying local (although most everything is only 10 minutes away in Reno) I have yet to visit a restaurant in Summit - Land/Sea. This may bump Summit up to 5 star as we need always need fine dining on this side of Reno. I had fun at the tree lighting and glad there was this family fun opportunity so close by! read more

I like the open space of Summit. I love some of the shops I visit daily like Yoga Pod Reno. I often go next door to the Starbucks to get gift cards to reward the staff at YogaPodReno. As an Apple computer owner since 1984 having an Apple store is another great reason to shop at Summit. I have bought Lululemon yoga mats in other states. It's nice to have a location at Summit. read more

this mall is the worst mall to shop at! there are no public restrooms with the exception of one single public restroom located on the backside of one building and inside Dillards, other than that none to be found! the original concept was for the businesses to provide restrooms for customer use, this has since changed and businesses have closed their restrooms to the public! this mall has the worst set up and now this, not sure it worth shopping here! read more

This mall area was very nice for a walk on a sunny breezy afternoon. The selection of stores was good and they are far apart enough to allow for a nice walk specially if it is a nice day out. There are some restaurants also to grab a bit in between breaks from shopping. Overall a nice place to spend a lazy afternoon. read more

Little known fact about The Summit: they have a free 7-hole putting green for guests! More on that below. I went to this shopping center yesterday, Monday, June 10, 2019. I have also been here a little over 50 times since 2011. Stores I have patronized here are: Apple Store (both the old and new locations here) Bab Cafe 2 Buffalo Wild Wings Carino's Italian (now closed) Little Free Library The Summit Guest Services Office United Federal Credit Union This is a very tony shopping center, perhaps Reno's most elite. There are many high-end stores here, such as the Apple Store, Lululemon Athletica, White House Black Market, Williams Sonoma, MAC, Loft, and Sephora. You know it is high end since Apple only goes to ritzy places. The shopping center is anchored by Dillard's and Century Theatres. If you want to dine here, there are plenty of choices, from Italian to Mexican to Japanese to Korean to burgers and sandwiches to coffee bars to craft beers. There also vacancies should you wish to lease here. There are also plush amenities here, like a concealed 7-hole putting green right across from the Guest Services Office, fountains, fire pits, shaded seating areas, restrooms, free wifi, ATM's, a Little Free Library community book box, a park-n-ride lot, guest services office, gift cards, 24/7 security, and directories galore. I wish I had a golf club, as the putting range looked so fun, with a seat next to the course should you need to rest. Maybe I will buy a club! Or maybe the Guest Services Office has them like Homewood Suites by Hilton does? They are also pet friendly and they used recycled water to maintain the property. This is a destination site, and no trip to Reno is complete without going here. I feel special whenever I come here. I also like it since it is Close to my home in Carson City, on the extreme south end of Reno. There always is plenty of parking, even by busy stores like the Apple Store and Century Theatres. I used to go here a lot in 2011 and 2012 since I had won a free steak meal at Carino's once a week for a year at their grand opening. It's too bad they closed, but their customer service started to fall off in late 2011 when they argued with me about putting sauce on my steak. The views from here are spectacular. They are in south Reno, where it is a little more elevated, and you can see the mountains. This is especially true if you are in the Apple Store looking out, since they have large all-glass windows and doors in their storefront. Even the areas in back of each store are clean, with each door labeled with the name of the store, and a security camera above. (I only drove back here since I was trying to get proof of the suite number for the Apple Store for Yelp.) Guest services was also very helpful, both on the phone and in person. I don't understand nor do I appreciate this entire mall really. First of all it's a mall 99% for women. Most malls are of course but what makes this unique is that it seems to appeal to women that want to act like they're rich and hoity toity. Sure you have some uppity women there but most of them seem to be average socioeconomic class. Like most malls across the country there's nothing for the guys to even window shop at. They did have a game store at one time but that's gone too now. You know the sign of a good mall is it tries to cater to everybody when you're missing half of the population that's not cool. Not that they will change or try to attract electronic stores or anything that men might appreciate but it just needs to be said. As a man get used to carrying everything because the layout is long and of course the ladies don't want to carry their purchases. There's a few benches here and there but there's not a lot to go around. Some of the nice things they have are the restaurants I give them credit but there's no quick place to grab a bite to eat it's all sit down stuff. read more

This is a very interesting outdoor shopping center. I came here venturing out on travel for work; I was looking for a high-end shopping mall. What I discovered was a sporadically disbursed shopping mall/center of sorts. The center hosts the likes of places like Dillards, J.Crew, White House black-market, Bath and Bodyworks, Victoria's Secret, Jay. Jill, Pottery Barn, Talbots, and the Mac store to name a few. Very poor layout - the weather in Reno is often blistering hot in the summer, or frigidly cold and windy in the winter months. This is definitely a destination type mall; say you want to go to Dillards (why?) get in, get out. The restaurant selection is very limited, and I have yet to see one restaurant outlast BJ's. Even if you are going just to see a movie and this is the closest theatre, the stores are not getting ANY of that foot traffic. You might be tempted to kill some time at other locations by looking at shops, but walking across a huge parking lot is just not what anyone wants to do. I've seen outdoor malls done right (Walnut Creek, CA comes to mind) Vast parking lots between stores spread too far apart was just a bad bad idea. read more

My husband & daughter wanted to escape from the smoky casinos so we decided to take a trip to The Summit. To my surprise, this outdoor mall was amazing. I walked away with 3 things for less than $34 dollars all together. I found a great pair of Jessica Simpson heels for $16.00 @ Dillards, a pair of heels @ Charlotte Russe for $5.00 & a jacket @ Old Navy for $12.00. I find that the better selection of clothes in the clearance section always equals a great find! We'd definitely go there again the next time we're in town. read more

Mostly I come here because of the movie theater. Sometimes I come here to shop. Once in awhile I come here to eat. Rarely do I combine two of the above activities here at the Summit, but it's pretty dead handy when I do. My favorite stores are the Apple and Old Navy stores. I love the little doggie park and the mini putt putt green they have at that end of the mall. Just a nice extra thoughtful touch. Unlike other people, I am not one of those people who delight in leisurely walking from shop to shop, spending 45 minutes here, 25 minutes there, and dangling multiple shopping bags from my arm, leaving red marks on my skin. That is not my idea of fun; therefore the idea of walking from store to store doesn't bother me. I tend to just go where I need to go, zero in on what I need to buy, and then get the heck out of there. That's why this kind of open layout is just fine by me. read more

They are overpriced and very low quality have half of the belt loops needed for a good belt and are very thin if you buy these jeans you are wasting your money! Moderate $$$ retail therapy. The layout is dangerous and confusing for drivers pedestrians on their phones or lost and not paying attention making it very scary for a driver to hurdle. The Summit Mall is a nice mall. I do like to come here from time to time. I guess I am not as into shopping as most people are but I do enjoy a good walk and people watching. The Starbucks that is located here is a good place to catch a bit of people watching. There are ample shopping stores for most items you would need like clothes, shoes, iPhone store, candles, some food/fast food restaurants, even a movie theater. I'm sure I am miss a lot but I will try to cover the best I can. To be honest I'm not sure what I am forgetting. Well, they do have a farmers market during the summer on Saturdays, I think. But they are pretty awesome and I love the fruits and bread you can get from there. I am a cheap person when it comes to clothes. I don't like paying for expensive brand name anything really. But I have occasionally purchased a few items that are brand named. But they are usually great quality. I am just the worst when it comes to clothes because I will just tear it and get sad faced when I do :(. But that's why for the most part I don't buy expensive clothes. Once in awhile only hehe. The parking lot is huge plenty of parking here. Not need to worry about that. I think you can park a huge RV in this place it is so big. I forgot to mention they do have a jewelry store here too. The food was good, but the place was loud. They ended up seating us near some doors, which was fine at first until a whole team of kids arrived and kept going in and out and in and out, causing huge gusts of winds into the restaurant. They should have locked all but one or two doors so the wind would have been limited instead of coming through as many doors as the kids felt like flinging open. read more

Whenever I'm in the mood to spend a buncha money I don't have (like, say, from a super smart home equity line of credit or a 3rd credit card I took out to pay off the other credit cards that my significant other doesn't know about) I prefer to do it in a football field size strip mall in either the blistering "this is what hell feels like" hot or the "I guess I'll be losing a few fingers" cold. But only...ONLY if all of this comes with that quintessential Reno gale force "there's no place like home" type wind. THEN....only then... am I a happy shopper. Luckily, The Summit has all this and more! See, The Summit Mall has everything a person who's enthralled with outrageously priced fluff could ever need. There are your typical "I measure my self-worth in generic heart necklaces" jewelry stores. You've got your "take out a second mortgage on your house" denim joints and sunglass huts. Not to mention the "here's a shit-ton of cheap child-labor jewelry we've imported from China that may or may not contain gross amounts of lead but they're all priced at less than $10 so you won't give a sh*t anyway" trinket shops. And if THAT'S not enough to convince you, what about your "I'm only beautiful when slathered in a paycheck's-worth of eyeshadow" makeup shop? Or the iHope iM happy with this gizmo before the next iVersion is iSsued? Or how about the place you can go to spend an obscene amount of money on a small satchel you can use to carry your now nonexistant billfold? See...this all sounds like a grand ol time for me. And all the while battling the fierce elements of the Sierra Nevada foothills. And at the end of the day, you can treat yourself to mediocre sushi, mediocre bar food, or a mediocre cocktail. This is probably the best mall in Reno. They are mostly chain stores in regular malls in bigger cities so I wouldnt consider it upscale shopping. But definitely more upscale compared to other shopping options. I've only been here 3 times since living here and I have never explored the entire mall. Can you tell I don't like shopping? The mall is outdoors and you can do a bit of walking if you go into a lot of stores. I didn't see many spots where you can buy a refreshing drink while shopping. I got thirsty under the scorching sun but the closest drink store in my vision was a starbucks, which was all the way across the lot. That was not convenient. I didn't see any shuttles either. Other yelpers mentioned a shuttle service. So... I have to take a bus to buy a drink? I mean "shuttle." OK, so the layout is not great. Maybe bring your own drink. You can refill your water bottle at lululemon which is closer than Starbucks if you're on that side of the mall. I wouldn't actually use transportation to go across the lot, but just putting it out there since I read that there is a shuttle service. Another good things is that many of the stores are dog friendly and have water bowls for your furry kids. It is a fairly clean mall and I'd come here if I cannot find whatever I'm looking for at Costco or on Amazon. read more

I love this mall. It's an outdoor mall in Reno and close to Virginia City. It's hugely spread apart, so I don't feel claustrophobic. There's all kinds of people shopping here, and I like how they seem to be minding their own business and not giving that "I'm so much better and hotter than you" vibe I get from the people at Arden Fair Mall and Roseville Galleria. Oh and need I mention that mall is not overpopulated? I'm serious. I actually went here on Black Friday in the afternoon and there were not that many people going crazy. Or maybe because it was an outdoor mall and everything and everyone is spread apart, so my claustrophobia doesn't kick in the same way it would in an indoor mall. I guess my favorite part of The Summit is the fact that they have Hollister--living in Sacramento, none of the malls here have Hollister, so we Sacramentans would have to order the clothes online, buy it out of town, or drive out all the way to Stockton for the closest one. I guess I'm fortunate that my family and I love going to Reno and taking mini-vacations there haha. read more

This review is sole based on my Farmers Market experience yesterday. C'mon this should be listed as a Farmer Market. This is the smallest Farmers Market i've ever visited. Prices are expensive, selection is extremely limited, and the farmers are all from California. Isn't the whole idea of a farmers market to support the LOCAL farmers? This is a pretty beautiful outdoor mall so I can't for the life of me figure out why it's empty all the time. From an Apple Store to a Pottery Barn to a Dillards, this place is great. The layout is extremely spread out though so it makes it a little bit awkward in getting to the places you want to go to and with that I agree with others that it's more for targeted shopping. It's a BIG S-P-R-E-A-D out mall on the south side of town. I totally get what they were going for a place to stroll and shop. They kinda missed the mark -- it's either too hot or too windy to walk. I tried. I saw a Trolley up there once that moved shoppers from store to store. Let's face it; it's a mall. I go there for 3 reasons 1- Chico's 2- Apple Store 3- BJ's Not in any particular order; it just depends on what I need. I love that they do the Farmers Market there during the season. A large, multiple building outdoor mall located at the south end of town. They must have paid a bundle to force 395 to loop around in front of the mall and drive by it at a slow speed on the way to Carson City. It's difficult to leave this mall safely if you plan to go north on Virginia or 395. Good luck. You'll need it. Many chain stores and a few other local only/small chains. I think the whole thing is a bit poorly conceived. There are no paths designed to walk from one building to another. Am I seriously supposed to drive to go 500 feet? Or walk through a parking lot full of tourists, older folks (who, I'm sorry, but they don't drive as well as people in their 30s and 40s generally) and local, inattentive people? I find chain stores boring, but convenient (direct shipping for free for internet orders, trying on clothes, return of internet orders). And they have quite a few here. The Reno Apple store is here. There are quite a few clothing stores including a lot of women's clothing stores that fail to grab my attention--and let's face it, I probably couldn't keep up anyway. My favorite place here is Chocolate Bar. It's just a superior lounge experience with high prices, but impeccable service and ambience. Otherwise, the place strikes me as stupid, unnecessary and inconvenient. Stopped off here so the wife could check out Dillards. Not sure why we bothered. This place seems out of the way and not near anything. It has a small selection of shops, the usual suspects in these kinds of malls but there didn't seem a reason to draw people back unless you are right there. The layout is not walk friendly and the exit out of here seems treacherous. read more
