Ridiculously overpriced. Creepy staff. The employees kept following me around. One staff member was breathing down my neck the entire time, and wouldn't leave me alone. If I stopped to look at an item, he would try to engage me in conversation about that particular item. Eventually, he started asking me for my phone number, and tried to write down his own for me. Always clean and well stocked. Prices are fair and reasonable especially with their constant sales. Return policy is nice, and the rain check for items out of stock is convenient if you want to order something. Employees here always seem miserable though. Never helpful when you're looking for things. Hard to find throughout the store. Seems like the store is overworked and understaffed. read more

This kills me to give this rating., I ordered a $50 gift card through Hobby lobby for Christmas gift on December 11. On December 23, I still have not received it. I was told that the card has no tracking, and it is mailed out from the corporate office in another state, and sent just as a Christmas card would be sent, bulk mail. It could take up to 12 business days. They apologized if I didn't get it by the 26th, and would give me a refund. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable. If someone orders a Christmas gift, a Christmas gift card, from your company, 14 days before Christmas, you need to do a better job in getting it to the recipient by Christmas. Is money really that tight where you can't send a Christmas gift card faster than with a stamp and 12 day delivery? Anyway, today is the 28th, and I still have no gift card to give as a Christmas gift. Sigh. read more

This is the oddest shopping experience I have ever had! My son's funeral is on Saturday. I've always felt that Hobby Lobby was overpriced, but they are the only ones that have everything I need. I wandered around the store for almost 2 hours, sobbing the entire time. They sell a ton of candy, so I thought maybe they'd have water, no. I asked an employee if there was a water fountain or anywhere at all that I could find anything to drink, "no.". I don't know what I'm doing. No one, ever, not once stopped and asked me if I needed help or if they could help me find something. Still sobbing, I get to the register only to find I don't have my wallet. I tell the cashier, "This is all for my son's funeral. I cannot come back and do this again. Do you take ApplePay ". NO. So, here I am. On a display bench at the front of the store, still crying, still thirsty, still never approached by a single employee offering help, waiting for my husband to bring me my wallet to the last store on earth that doesn't take ApplePay, so I can get these overpriced flowers to my son's funeral and never come back again. I expected better from a company who so clearly displays their Christian beliefs on every shelf in the store. read more

This store is super cool. I'm definitely late to the party for just now stepping inside. The store is inside the same parking lot as the 99cent store in south Reno. Everything Craft wise is in this store, along with home decor. I was blown away of all of their options. From painting, to baking, to t-shirt making, there was no stone untouched. I really lost time being in here. Just seeing all that they had through out their store. My cashier was super helpful. She let me know that they have weekly sales posted on their website. Hobby Lobby is probably one of my favorite stores in Reno. As an artist and someone who is constantly decorating her place and coming up with new home projects. This store has such great prices with a variety of trinkets. In wanted to make a fairy house and there was exactly what I was looking for along with amazing paint and pencil options. They seem to keep up with the seasons changing and very organized for such a big store. Thinking of howe these employees can keep track of where everything is located is pretty surprising. Really the last store you'd look for Steven E. to be in. Or so I thought. I figured it's all about model cars or trains but had no idea they stocked all the craft and decoration ideas they do, not to mention the hundreds of other accessories. Most impressive. The store is a beautiful and inviting sight as well as neat & nicely organized. I know I could spend serious time here and not see each & every item. This place is huge. If your in need of ideas for a new hobby, this would be a wonderful room to start in. A niece and her friend were passing through and insisted I take them up here for scrapbooking supplies. What can I say about Hobby Lobby? I've always loved this store even though every time I walk in my anxiety kicks in cause I'm so overwhelmed with how much stuff they have. They have so much stuff from house decor, arts & crafts, sewing supplies, paints and so much more. I like how they load up the aisles with decor that are themed and match together well. It helps if you're someone like me who isn't good at decorating. But what I do like to get at Hobby Lobby are scrapbooking supplies. Lots of cute things to choose from. They normally have good sales going on even though nothing I'm looking for is ever on sale. What I did notice is that they sanitize the carts and they have them labeled which ones have been sanitized and which ones aren't yet. read more

Hobby lobby has lots of items for crafting and home decor. They tend to have great sales on seasonal items - usually going down to 75-90% off. When I came in they were switching the summer seasonal items out and putting out fall items, but unfortunately this interferes with being able to shop on the aisles. You could still get through, but there were so many boxes on some of the aisles that it was hard to navigate around with a shopping cart. read more

After a quick stop at Costco (had to pick up photos), and of course my flour for baking, I headed straight to Hobby Lobby! My kudos to fellow Yelper Lyn from Texas, had she not posted all the pics of Christmas supplies, I would of never came by. First hint, the parking lot was very full... so I'm just thinking, it should be a quick grab of the holiday baking containers for next year... WOW! Crazy busy, and everyone at the Christmas supplies! I grabbed everything I could use for my gift boxes, and then headed over to the picture frames. A very impressive selection and great price! I was amazed how big the store was, and all the different categories of decor... man cave, cars, hunting, fishing, etc... soooo much stuff! I was so excited that I was able to get a frame for half price! I actually left the frame in the bag, in the cart!! When I realized it, I called the store and they had it!! Thanks to whoever brought it in! I will be going again to shop for my next decorating spree.. best for me to go with one room at a time, or else I'd be buying the whole store!!! read more

One of my favorite places to shop! There is such a wonderful variety of crafts and home decor! Every once in a while the flower section is scarce, but lately has been full and beautiful - perfect for any type of arrangement you are looking to put together. The staff are always friendly and kind and ready to help as needed. They always have a fantastic selection of seasonal items. One of the best things about this store is how often they have sales! Usually if an item I am looking at isn't on sale one day, it will be in about two weeks. Overall, I am always able to find what I need without hassle and it's always a pleasant experience. read more

We have a few craft stores in town. I like them all, but I will give honest review of each. Hobby Lobby is one of them that has a lot of home decor. They have seasonal items on sale, while it is still the season! That is very helpful! Yesterday, my mom and I were able to get Fall/Thanksgiving AND Christmas decor for 50% off! Hobby Lobby has sales all the time. And it will usually be for many different departments. It does get pretty crowded in there, so be prepared for crowds. The parking lot can be difficult to get in too. Its not the stores fault how it was designed. But just a warning. It might be easier entering by the 99 Cent store on Virginia St. read more

Personally, I'm not a huge fan because nothing in there really appeals to me (though I have seen a few cool knick knacks here and there) and the insanely narrow aisles drive my anxiety through the roof when it's busy. For what it is, though, it's a decent store with a massive selection of holiday decor, painting supplies, home decor items, frames, etc. If I do ever get into painting, Hobby Lobby will likely be my first stop. read more

This place is awesome !! I could get lost in here for days. Their selection is so great it could actually be a little overwhelming because you think you found what you needed but then you look around and you find a better option or a different color or you find something else you didn't even know you needed. The staff is great also, they won't just point you to where to find what you are looking for, they will walk you there even if you insist it is ok and you can find it on your own, then they even show you complimentary items to go with what you are working on and make it even better. Sure it may be a selling tactic but it never comes across as pushy but more on the helpful side. Today, I was treated like a criminal at the returns and exchanges. I have never, ever had such an awful experience today April 4, 2024 in the afternoon. They had to have the manager, which they stated (cashier and the front line manager over the cashiers) that it would take tooooo loooong for him to look at the video to find out what I actually paid for an item. First they started with the mid priced item on my receipt then went to the lowest item as I went around the store finding everything I had bought last week. Finally I said get the manager and have this person review the security video. Welllllll....it was the most expensive item on my receipt. I'm embarrassed to admit how much I enjoy hobby lobby. It's so much more than a craft store, so much more than a home decor store--it's Pinterest comes to life! I can easily spend 3 hours in the store, putting items in my cart, then talking myself out of them ("I don't need that" and "when will I ever have time to do that" or "this is too much, one project at a time") then going back to retrieve the things I put back and subsequently regretted and ultimately purchasing them. They have everything and then some. My favorites are: terracotta pots for plants, canvases for painting, frames, kid craft sections, the party coordination/theme aisles, and at CHRISTMAS the holiday stuff. Everything you could want for AMAZING prices. Every Christmas I can buy supplies to make hand crafted Christmas gifts that are less than $1/each. You cannot beat their prices and there are always sales making the deals even better. I do not really appreciate their politics, I know they are closed on Sunday for religious purposes which is extraordinarily RARE in Reno where we can access everything around the clock. On more occasions than I am proud to admit, I've driven to Hobby Lobby, arrived in the empty parking lot and ended up cursing profanity because I do not live close by. So, that's annoying. Also the way to drive in and out of your their parking lot is not easy, you either have to make a strange turn and drive through a bargain market parking lot, flip a U-turn, or come in from around the back of the building. read more

I have been dying to visit a hobby lobby for years now. I recently made it out to Reno and found time to stop by. I was blown away! The store is so much bigger than I thought and it's completley full. Endless amounts of choices, so much to see. I will have to say, prices were a little more than expected. I was looking for home decor and they have a bunch of very basic pieces for $40-$90. They were giving 50% of yesterday though so it definitely made my trip worth it. amazing i love every part of it but as of late the staff has made the experience uncomfortable. since they are always moving things around it's always a 2 hour visit looking at everything. but lately it seems that is not ok to do without being harassed by staff. i was questioned by one guy in there asking if i need help. i said no but that wasn't enough. i just said i was looking he questioned for what and kept digging then other staff would follow me or stand in the same aisle. like i was going to steal. i have spent thousands of dollars here which in all honesty i shouldn't support a business that throws money towards anti gay matters. they made me so uncomfortable that i decided to tell my friend ill meet her in the car. i will never spend another dime at this store. you cant look around at everything apparently. so i will stick to michaels and other stores. it suxks i love this store but the way they treated me was so uncomfortable and made me feel insulted and humiliated. i dont need a babysitter but if you wanted me to leave and not spend money then mission accomplished. fyi if you are in the lgbtq community and work there or shop there. the head owners hate you and throw money towards anything anti gay. i will never come here again. wnd i have spent a lot of money here i hope they are happy they lost a loyal customer read more
