I was going to give them a second chance. I spent a lot of money here over the years and it's close to home An item popped up on the website on clearance for less than $9. I could have paid for it with PayPal and picked it up here but I had cash in my pocket and thought I could buy it like a normal person That was my second mistake The cashier rang it up for full price and even after I pointed out the online price she told me she didn't have to honor it I wasn't going to argue with a 60-something year old woman so I left without it On the bright side. New ticket in line system is flawed, customer admitted to leaving the line and the store, came back and still had some pokemon cards "reserved". The worker lady with the red colored hair defended him (and knew him by name). The ticket system could work just needs to be managed more, or it will ruin the experience like it did mine. read more

I came here Friday, May 7th around 6pm. I saw the lit open sign and walked up to the door but it was locked. I checked the hours and it said the store was open until 7 p.m. I then saw a sign that said "...be back at 15 minutes." I thought that was strange but I really wanted to get a bunch of stuff to spoil my son so I went back to my car and waited.... 15 minutes passed and no one ever came back. I decided to wait a bit longer since I was already there, but ...you guessed it... no one ever showed. I also called the store multiple times Saturday and Sunday to see if they were open and never got an answer. Because of this, I learned that there are plenty of other Gamestops in town and I would advise anyone looking to go to the one on McCarren Blvd as the employees actually come to work and are quite helpful. Paid this place a quick visit to pick up a gift card for my nephew as part of his Christmas present. It's been a long time since I've been inside a Gamestop but it's as I remember it to be. The employees inside were nice and greeted my wife and I the second we walked in. They helped us pick out a gift card and got it activated quickly. The store itself was clean and well organized. Seemed to have plenty of games, consoles, and accessories to choose from. If you're into those Funko Pop figures they have a decent selection of them as well. Now that my nephew is getting into video games I see myself stopping by here for regular Christmas and bday gifts. read more

This used to be my favorite location because of all the friendly staff and good selection of games. Unfortunately, today has changed my opinion. The store should not be open until 8, with the open sign and lights on, and have the doors locked saying the employee will be back in 30 minutes. Left at 6:40, be back in 30 minutes less than two hours before your shift ends and the stores closes? Absolutely ridiculous. If it is a state mandated break, it shouldn't be taken so close to closing times. Incredibly unprofessional. read more

CapnGames is by far a much better business, and theyre locally owned. Fact: NCAA Football 14, $60..... a damn near 6 year old sports game is on the shelf for $59.99, when id bet my left kidney they only paid around $10 for it. It's a Gamestop, so it looks like every other Gamestop; which is to say, overly cluttered and looking to sell you something everywhere you turn. You get used to it after enough visits. The staff of this Gamestop is definitely a touch better than others I've been to in town. The last time I was in, Justin (yes, killer name) helped me immediately and even guessed what I was coming in for before I could even say anything. He's a serious pro. I was trading in a game and buying a new one, and he made the whole process pretty quick and effortless. I generally tend to stay out of GameStop, but knowing that this particular one has a great staff will likely have me coming back for all my nerdy needs. read more

My teenage son and I absolutely love this particular Gamestop! We like a few other local ones, too, but this one is definitely the tops and our go-to! They are always SO amazing with their customer service and get along great with my son and me as well. No generation gap issues....lol When I have a question about some new gaming system, accessory, or game; they always answer in a way that I can totally understand and know any options (often actually saving me money) and they aren't condescending because I'm not with-it enough. LOL They have also several times told me which other local Gamestop has something specific and even have them hold it for me if they do not have one in stock at this location as well as once ordering a special item for me and shipping it to my home. I definitely recommend "going Pro" with their frequent shopper reward card program! You get discounts, earn gift certificates for points (we actually had a $10 off coupon because of this today), and you get their magazine "The Game Informer" monthly. All for something like $14 per year. My son absolutely LOVES The Game Informer and has reread them all multiple times. He actually has kept them all, too. That in itself is worth the cost and I have no idea how much money I have saved over the last probably about 5 years as well as multiple gift certificates earned. I also love it when they have some of their great sales! They are usually pretty substantial! We will absolutely be returning again and again and again..... We have already been there twice this week (since this last Tuesday was when a new wave of Lego Dimensions came out....LOL). read more

As a parent of two preteens, I frequent both the Disc Drive location and the Mccarran and Prater location often. I have always found the staff to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. When ever I have an issue, they go out of their way to resolve it, normally without any complaining necessary. It is nice to see that in the day of self-checkouts and a push to robo service that there are still businesses that care about the customer experience. read more

Terrible costumer service every time I enter the store I am met with rude employees who treat me with disrespect. This last time was the final straw I was quickly trying to enter the store to buy my sister a present for her birthday we arrived ten minutes before closing I already knew what she wanted and I verified that they had it before hand and they did. I also told them I was running late so I asked if we could get in and leave as soon as possible but as I arrived the employees were insisting the store was closed when they showed me the time it was still ten minutes before the store closed and they would still not let us enter. Do yourself a favor and use Best Buy. Or Walmart or any place except for this company here. My wife bought a game for the wrong Xbox consul. We never opened the game and we have the receipt for it and they will not let us return even for store credit. At both Walmart and Best Buy you would be able to return this unneeded video game and at least get store credit even if you don't have a receipt. Game stop has lost my business forever. In a world where customers are so hard to come by it is hard to imagine that a customer with this bad of customer service is still in business. read more

I don't get the negativity toward this store. When I walk through the the door Adrian always remembers my name, and reminds me of upcoming games and merchandise me and my son would like. They call me personally when my pre-orders come in and Amanda always asks about our Funko collection and we talk about different ways to display them. Totally got rob from this company bought a set of wireless headset, an 5 minutes later I changed my mind an returned them, the assistant manager open the box after it was sealed with there company sticker, an when she open box there was no product inside. I hate GameStop. This is the only one I will visit willingly. Grant and Jake make the customer experience pleasant and simple. The store, now under new management, is now a very friendly environment. The new store manager, Tim, is friendly and knowledgeable, and is training his new employees very well. Comparing the store from three months ago to now, the location has improved astronomically! Stopped by to get my son a lego video game that he wanted for his playstation. I think it was very obvious that I didn't know anything about video games yet they were very patient with me and very informative. Although the line was pretty long and I had to wait a good 10 minutes to get rung up, overall I'd say the experience here was good. I'll come here for my son's future games. As we walked in I could hear the only employee in the store, Donald speaking on the phone about another co worker's break habits. We were there to do 3 things; 1) Trade in games. 2) Purchase a game. 3) Pre order Call of Duty Black ops 2. I immediately felt as if we were bothering Donald. When we approached the counter he advised whomever he was talking to that he had to go and would call them back in a few minutes. Our first transaction was to find out how much the games my son wanted to trade in were worth. We were advised if we were using the money to pre order a game we would be given 3 more dollars. So, my son said he would like to do that and Donald proceeded and gave us our receipt. My son also had a gift card and some cash that he wanted to use to purchase a game. We looked around the store and he chose a game to buy, once he bought it he very nicely asked to use the remaining balance towards the game we pre ordered only minutes ago, within the next few seconds my son remembered he still had cash and wanted to put that towards the pre order as well and again he advised Donald that he wanted to put his cash towards the pre ordered game. At this point Donald was clearly annoyed and began lashing out verbally attacking my 12 year son asking why he just couldn't do it all in one transaction and how now he has had to do 3 transactions. I advised Donald that my son is only 12 years old and he does not need to speak to him like that. We were the only 2 people in the store, we were not holding anyone up. Once we left I looked at all 3 receipts, the 3 timestamps are 10:58, 10:59, and 11:00. My son was clearly shaken by Donalds verbal attacks. Gamestop is a GAME store and I would imagine many children frequent the establishment. So, to sum it up my son spent his 75.00 that he earned at Gamestop in 2 minutes and was emotionally beaten down by a grown man who is also a stranger to my son. I am disgusted with the way my son was treated. This is not how I expect to be treated as an adult, nor a polite young man. My son was in tears in the car, he did not understand why this person had yelled at him, and is scared to go back to that store to pick up his game. Obviously, Donald was more concerned with getting back to his personal phone conversation that providing customer service. Since the 3 transactions took up 2 minutes, however Gamestop made 75.00 in 2 minutes. I am still in shock at the way we were treated. This is completely unacceptable behavior for a grown man. As convenient as this store location is, from here on out I will most likely be ordering any future games from other establishments who appreciate making 75.00 in 2 minutes with a smile. And you can guarantee I have already posted the store location and the incident on several public forums. I have 5 children, imagine how much money we spend in your store in a year. We have 2 xboxes and 2 wiis in our house alone. 2 of which were purchased within the last year. read more
