Been a fairly regular customer since their first Pyramid location. I enjoy spending around 30 minutes to an hour browsing the vintage games. Sometimes I buy, sometimes I don't. Lately, however, I can't spend more than 5 minutes inside because of the overwhelming stench of wet dog and dog urine. I like dogs and everything, but not when visiting a video game business. It smells better at the humane society. Sadly, I won't be returning because I can't deal with the smell. read more

Don't bring trade ins here. brought a N64, 2 games, controllers, and multiple accessories. was offered a pitiful amount for it all. Went back in to pick it up and they had already sold multiple pieces of it without my consent. Went back inside to get a refund and weeks later, never received the refund. Called my credit card company and they confirmed they never sent it. Went back AGAIN and received the worst attitude I've ever experienced from a business. Will never spend money at this place again. I came into Cap'n Games today because as a drummer, I always wanted to play Rock band and Guitar Hero. I owned the drum kit but didn't know if it worked. I had an Xbox 360 but didn't know if the system worked and didn't know if it was compatible with my drum kit. It was. I needed a new drum peddle and sticks. I also bought a guitar hero guitar which was also for the Xbox 360. I wanted to compliment Andrew for the most amazing customer service ever!!! Today I felt like a kid getting my first gaming system which is pretty true. I have dreamed of playing these games since my daughter played this game when she was a kid. She is 22 and I am 64. I also had wonderful help from Anthony, Jenna and store manager Shawn. It takes a village. What a great store. Thank you Andrew for your outstanding customer service, Jenna cleaning my drum kit, Anthony cleaning my guitar. Came in the other day to get rid of a few games. There is a 5 game limit if your a walk in. I don't understand this at all from a customers standpoint or a business standpoint. What if I had some really great games that would help your store and you just turn them down!? That goes to my next negative, the inventory has definitely went drastically downhill since last year. A lot of sports games and super commons for most systems, hardly anything to speak of for someone who has been in this hobby for any amount of time and is looking for something more obscure. So it took me about 5 min to browse their entire store but I had to wait almost 25 min to get values on just 5 games. Most retro game shops simply look up average ebay sold values and give approximately 40% credit based on that depending on rarity. It's fast and easy to teach an employee. The system this shop "uses" to determine values for trades is hurting the business for sure. It does not take long at all to price out games if you have staff in there that is even slightly knowledgeable. System takes forever and it doesn't help that the guy giving me the values (African American kid in a bucket hat) was slow, socially awkward and only cared about going on break which he voiced to another employee while I was in front of him. I felt like him getting me values on 5 games stressed him out or something... idk it was a weird feeling for sure lol. I see that they got rid of their other location (which was smart financially) but I remember the staff at the other place feeling better overall in every way. I hope this review gets to the managers because I want this company still be here next year, there isn't anything else like this in the area and it would be sad to see antiquated systems and unmotivated/socially awkward kids/employees run it into the ground. Worst gaming store I have ever been to. They charged me before hand on a repair that they never did and had zero proof they even tried Not once did they even call to keep me updated when they kept the system longer then they originally stated. I went to pic up my gaming system over a week after I dropped it off. I asked for a refund and my system they said they wanted to do one last check and now I have been waiting for over 30 minutes. After I told them I'd rather just take it else where. This place is very unprofessional. None of the workers are on the same pace as each other... funny side note. I went to the store with my daughter. She tried to trade in over $250 worth of games and they offered her $20 or $30 store credit. One of the games sells for more then $50 and they had it on their shelf for $75! I understand they need to make money but this is criminal. Do not waste your time trying to get a deal on anything in the store. Everything is overpriced by 20% to 50% over online prices. They constantly failed to give me proper status on my console for over a week, and when they told me it was "good to go" not only was the issue not even fixed but also even had a problem it did not have before.
