I stopped in yesterday looking for some Sega Genesis games and was so impressed by this place. Tons of great retro gaming gear and games at reasonable prices, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Best video game store I've ever been to, hands down. read more

I'm completely stunned by how much I loved this shop. They have an incredibly wide selection of games from pretty much all generation of consoles ranging from common to super hard to find. Everything I saw looked in great shape as well. I was even able to find one of my grail games in perfect condition, and with the original strategy guide, at a surprisingly decent price. Scarlette was also very helpful in tracking down a few other games on my list. I'll definitely be back for those in the coming weeks! read more

Hands down the best place in the Carson/Reno area for older and newer games and consoles! Once you walk in the store, you are greeted by not only friendly staff and excellent service, but an overwhelming display of games and consoles that range from the old NES to the newer ones today. The owner is very passionate about gaming, and has a personal collection that I could only dream to have. I've had many a great conversation about games we've played, and our own personal favorites. Overall, this is my favorite place to go for games. If you are looking for retro games & consoles, then this is the place for you. They will even let you return a game if it doesn't work in your console, and will trade it with another one free of cost. Lastly, they are a one-stop-shop and they carry all of the accessories you may have forgotten about (like cords, memory cards galore, and cases for handhelds). I bet you forgot all about the rumble pack for you N64 controller, or the core memory expansion that you need to play certain games. Whatever it is retro, you name it, they have it. If you have any questions, they can answer them. And if you are looking for a specific game they do not have in stock, then no worries, just be sure to sign up at the store with your name and phone number and the owner will call you when the game is in Update: last review I left pretty much was a gush session. And this update isn't honestly any different. If you want to find friendly staff, decent prices, and amazing selection of retro games. Come here... this is hands down my favorite place to come to for retro games and customer service. Nick the owner is such a great guy and very knowledgeable about everything retro. THIS STORE DOESNT OVER INFLATE PRICES I hate going to a "retro game store" just to find out they are basically a pawn shop trying to gut you on every sale. Retro Replay is my favorite game store, been going here for years and I hope to continue coming here for years to come! Gaming is my life, besides family and work. It's my passion and hobby, and I can't think of a store like this one that combines customer service with the best pricing. Love you guys always read more

Best retro game store we've been to. They have a ton of games and lots of electronics and accessories. Nintendo, Sega, Atari, Play Station, Xbox. They even had a NES power play mat that I forgot existed until I saw it. My childhood came flooding back to me in a rush of nostalgia. "Also, it was neat!" - my son read more

Very cool little store! They have a good selection of consoles, accessories, and games covering everything from old Atari 2600 to modern Xbox One. Prices are fair and decent too. The two gals running the front desk and servicing customers are friendly and give you space to browse. Everything is well organized and clean. The store recently relocated to a different location, from Washington to Hwy 50. Parking is tight and difficult here and the lot is not in good shape. Also, this location is much smaller than their Washington location. It feels a little tight and crowded on the weekends when we go, almost like the room can't breathe. I take off a star for that. Hopefully the store opens up a room that is currently blocked off with a curtain. We're always happy to go and always happy to recommend this place to gaming fans! read more

So much nostalgia! I like to go there with my son and find games we can play as a family. Luckily the folks who work there are super knowledgeable and friendly and give fantastic recommendations. read more

Great place to find games and console from any gem and great customer service. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for some great gaming options read more

The owner is very kind and I would go back to see him. On one hand the two girls who work there are very quiet, whisper to eachother like I couldn't hear them which kinda put me off. And one gal was still in her pajamas at work, I understand the store may be layed back but the whole experience with the girls was a little off putting, don't know if I'd spend time there if I was in a bad mood... the vibe from them would bring me down more read more

Every time I go down there they have something in the collectibles case I want. Picked up games I have been looking for a long time but didn't want to order from ebay. Saved money on them too. Everyone is nice and welcoming. read more

Retro Replay - Video Game Stores Near Me - Carson City, Nevada

I love this place! I am not an employee, nor was I asked to do this, I just really love this store. The best reason to come to Carson if you ask me. It is a very social and friendly place. I am at it a lot, sometimes just to chat about vintage systems and exchange facts. They are retro game lovers and collectors who have a real passion to share the fun of the classics. This place is always packed with people buying, selling, and trading. Then there's the tournament nights and it's crazy! (in a good way) There are not many places you can walk in and buy Atari Lynx games, but here you can! Want a Fairchild? You don't even know what the fk it is do you? Well, they have it. How about a vintage Atari 800 computer system? Yep, they have it too. They are totally reasonable. You won't find the prices jacked up like eBay, and you won't pay shipping since you walk right into the store. Yes a real store where you can check a game out before you buy it! No blind eBay/Amazon purchases. If you are in Reno, it's well worth the drive to Carson. They also have the last gen consoles too, so it's not just all 70's, 80's, and 90's stuff. If they don't have something, they'll keep an eye out for you. It's pretty fun to walk in on a Friday when you don't want to do the same old thing you always do on the weekend, and instead just pick out an old classic game or two for 5 bucks or less and have a few hours of fun. It's cheaper than a bad movie. The prices are so reasonable, you can experiment with buying games you weren't so sure you'd like back in the day. Or just get some games to add to your collection. The establishment is clean and organized too. read more

we are from northern Cali. came here looking for stuff to do. came across this store. very very sweet owners. nice. knowledgeable, really care about their customers. My husband wants to move here. read more

My husband called on a Saturday to find out if they had a Nintendo DS- and they did. He placed one on hold for us to pick up the next day, and asked the associate what the store hours were because we were coming from the north end of Reno, a 35 minute drive away. He said 12-5. The next day we came to pick up the item and arrived at 1:07 pm to find that they were CLOSED. My husband called the number and left a message explaining the situation and asking for a call back. He received one later that evening and the person he spoke with said they were closed for the holidays, apologized for the misinformation from the associate we originally spoke with, and offered to schedule a time for us to come get the item. We accepted and scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00 pm. Someone showed 20 minutes late. The guy that showed was helpful and nice; but what a hassle. read more

I love this store. Staff is the nicest and has knowledge of every game ever made. Good selection and nice alternative to game stop

An absolute must for anyone who considers themselves a retro gamer! This place has the coolest vibe! They always have several different systems running at any given time and Super Smash Bro. Tournaments they put on. The stock is incredible and diverse and the prices are very reasonable. We've picked up a couple Atari joysticks (which were like new!) for our systems and several Atari 2600 cartridges. Great business run by great people. If you live in Reno it is totally worth the drive to come check it out! read more

I was visiting family from out of town when my sister was telling me I had to check this place out. I went in and met Nick the owner and this was one of the coolest stores I have been to in quite some time. Nick was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable of current and past titles. The store is very organized which I loved making it easy find what you are looking for. I walked out with some old favorites and had a blast the whole time I was there. The store also looked really cool as far as the characters on the wall and the old school tv hook ups were awesome. Thank you Nick next time I am around I will swing in again. read more

Very cool place. The setup with the NES on an old school console TV is perfect, just like when I was a little guy! Took my little guy in and played some Super Mario Bros. and some Sonic the Hedgehog . The staff is super knowledgeable about all gaming systems and seem pretty passionate about it as well! Prices are very reasonable and they even have a sealed "never been touched by human hands" game! Everyone is friendly, I'll definitely be a loyal customer, just gotta put together my wish list. If there is a game you want and they don't have it, they'll search for it for you and keep an eye out for games you may be interested in. Love this place, wish I would have come sooner! read more

This is a cool store and Elizabeth is AWESOME! With her help, I was able to send my son a "working" Sega game console and all the games he had when he was in high school. He was thrilled to get it! He said it brought back lots of fun memories. Thank you Elizabeth! read more
