Five stars for nearly free toddler fun, incredibly welcoming staff, and a whole host of great teaching toys for all ages! It may sound silly, but Learning Express and Doughboy Donuts have become one of our favorite family outings. They always have so many interesting toys out for the kids to play with, and if you're looking for something specific, the staff always has the right recommendation. It's so fun to watch your kiddo engage with the environment and explore all the toys. They totally latch onto certain things and that's why the fun is NEARLY free. It's almost impossible to leave without buying something! I had know idea my son knew what a lamb was, but he found a stuffed one on the shelf and kept saying LAAAAAMMMBBBBB and wouldn't put it down. Since a couple of years ago, I've noticed that Learning Express has been making many changes with their displays and inventory. It's much more packed with the most updated trends with toys and such. This specialty toy franchise also has a website and sells toys focused on education and creativity. Me and my kids are always greeted when we enter the store. The workers have always been nice from our first visit till now. One time, a lady worker noticed that my toddler desperately needed to use the restroom and offered for her to use the restroom in the back. It was very nice of her and I appreciated that gesture so much as it saved me lots of time. I love that they have a main demo table with lots of rad toys to try out and many times, the workers have come up to my kids demonstrating how some of them worked. They have lots of items that simulate the mind - puzzles, science kits, books, workbooks, legos, water play toys, imaginary play toys, costumes, puzzles, etc. There's also a smaller item small section with lots of oldie toys like silly putty, wood airplanes, bouncy balls and the like. There's a great section with blank supplies (pencil cases, folders, art tables, etc.) that they could easily customize for you for no extra charge. These are great for customization, though most toys are customizable. For birthdays, they have a registry system where you can pick out items for your kid's birthday and place them in a bin for your guest to choose from. Surprise, free gift wrapping is available. I've found that prices are a little bit on the higher side as compared to Amazon, but I'm totally ok with that as they provide an actual place to shop and have great services such as free personalization, gift registery, and free gift wrapping. Basically, this toy store got it going on. It has everything I need to help foster and stimulate my children's minds. It's located in a shopping center that has Wal-Mart, Starbucks, a pet store next door, Renown urgent care, CVS, and so much food. read more

We love LOVE Learning Express Toys! We are long time customers and so glad more and families are hearing about this really neat shop! The customer service is always great and extremely helpful. We do not gatekeep around here and love to share where our kids get their cool toys and knickknacks. They have toys for all ages! We also love to shop here for Birthday gifts. One of my favorite things about this store is that they offer gift registry for kids. This makes it so much easier for both, us parents and guests. Kids shop for everything that they would like from the store (I highly suggest planning an hour or two aside for this) items are then placed in a large tote. Items are entered in the system and guests then have the option to come in store and purchase gift or they can search the registry and order online for pick up. Came here looking for a present for my friend's kids birthday. It was a bit far but i'm glad we made the drive! Walking into the store, we were greeted and everything seemed clean and fully stocked! My husband and I even got distracted and started playing around with some toys we thought were cool lol. They had squishmallows, board games, sports games, puzzles, lego sets, SLIME, and other cool knickknacks that kids of all ages would enjoy. They also had African Dwarf Frogs, which i thought was random-but cool and ironic because my daughter has been begggging for a pet frog lately! These frogs they have live in water and are fed only twice a week, basically fish. I might actually get this for her but anyway ! The staff was very attending to any questions and more importantly, were nice enough to answer all my curious questions about these frogs an We finally picked a couple things and paid for it- best part is that they WRAP your gifts for you! Great little store to pick up aids to help teach your little ones. We frequent this place and recently I went with my 4 year old who is starting kindergarten this fall for some flash cards and work books. I also picked him up a lap desk for him to use on the floor or sitting on the couch. Would be a 5 star but prices are a bit high on most items. So, we usually take our little guy on long car rides on our days off. He's on the spectrum and loves the rides. We decided to stop at Learning Express Toys in Reno on a whim. My husband has been on the website a few times. What an experience!!! This place has the nicest staff and the coolest toys. My little one is often super shy and doesn't speak, hides behind my legs. He was exploring and interacting with the staff. One woman, I did not get her name, was an angel. She spoke with me about her own son and his accomplishments being on the spectrum and then showed us some toys that he literally will not put down. We stayed up late playing with all his new things. We live in CA, but we are already planning our next day trip to the Reno L.E.T.-we need to come back just to say thanks for such a great experience and get some more wonderful toys. This store is chock full of quality engaging toys, books, and games. The staff are helpful and friendly. They have a large demo table set up with an assortment of toys for testing and distracting the littles. It's almost too stimulating. I like that most the toys are geared toward interactive learning or imaginative play. The only area that has some "junky" stuff is the small cubicles of stocking stuffer/party swag bag type toys. It's a great place to pick out a toy for gift giving and the staff will help you with age or developmental appropriate suggestions. They offer free gift wrapping to complete your purchase. read more

This store is so much fun. As a parent I go to some kiddy places dragging my feet. But I'll pester my kids into coming here. I love their selection of unique toys. Plus the toys are usually high quality. The store might be considered small or pricey to some but it's really a great shopping experience for us. The employees are fun, playful people. They encourage the kids to play with the toys. Plus they've helped me before carry toys to the car. We love buying gifts here because of the free gift wrapping. Their gift registry system looks really cool but we haven't tried it out yet. Instead of making a list your child just fills a box full of toys and their friends can come in and dig through the box for a gift. I love this store! I went there for the first time around Christmas to shop for my nieces birthday and was not disappointed. They let kids pick out items from around the store and put them in a bin as a kind of gift registry, then friends and family can come make purchases out of the bin. Some of the toys aren't quite as "educational" as you would expect from a place called Learning Express, but they at least are all fairly hands on and interactive and fun (far better than handing your kid a tablet). Toy heavan! It honestly took me a few years to get my feet in the door here because I had these false preconceived ideas about what I thought it was going to be like. I.e. things were going to be too expensive, or the toys would be to advanced for my little kids, or they would be too boring. Boy was I wrong. There are toys here for all ages. Games, puzzles, books, stuffed animals, experiments and all sorts of fun gadgets. We came here specifically to find something to work with my pre-k son with identifying the alphabet, and came home with a bag full of goodies. It was like Christmas all over again. They had cute little Valentine's Day baskets that were pre packaged, perfect for kids for Valentine's Day. You feel good buying toys or activities for your child here because you know they will be learning and having fun. You can even make a registry here for your child's birthday or any event. Guests can come in and give them your child's name and they bring a bin filled with items down from behind the counter so friends and family can choose from things that you have picked out for your child. Went into store for help with cleaning my child's frog tank. No one else in store. We were the only customers. Two girls said they could clean tank but that I needed to go buy spring water for tank. I bought the water as asked and when I came back they said that they were too busy and it would take too long. This was not my first time in the store. They have cleaned my sons tank before which took less than 15 minutes. So we left and went to PETSMART to ask for help. Young woman in PETSMART said "of course". Took the tank without hesitation. She even put new rocks and new plant. Very helpful and polite. OH and it only took her 5 minutes!!! NEVER again will I bring my business to Learning Express Toys. Those girls were lazy and not customer friendly! read more
