I spent twelve years in the south, so I was familiar with this chain now heading west. Would they still have country music playing, or Goo Goo clusters at the register? (Don't ask, and No). It's basically the biggest arts and crafts store, ever. I know someone invited me to a protest outside their doors when they opened in Reno...it escapes me but I think it involved something about birth control insurance coverage. Despite this somewhat negative aura, when I shopped for supplies for my niece's first year as an art school student, I thought I'd give the Lobby a shot. My ginormous list was checked off with aplomb in their spacious, well-appointed, and organized art supply section. Staff was helpful if I had a question but also gave me space to browse. Prices were reasonable and a variety of brands were available. The store was spotless and checkout was a breeze. I'll be back, and I might fire up my old glue gun! You never know what a trip to Hobby Lobby may inspire! read more

Hobby Lobby - The list checked off thanks to Hobby Lobby! - Hobby Shops Near Me - Reno, Nevada

I have been dying to visit a hobby lobby for years now. I recently made it out to Reno and found time to stop by. I was blown away! The store is so much bigger than I thought and it's completley full. Endless amounts of choices, so much to see. I will have to say, prices were a little more than expected. I was looking for home decor and they have a bunch of very basic pieces for $40-$90. They were giving 50% of yesterday though so it definitely made my trip worth it. An hour after leaving I already couldn't wait to come back. I plan to shop here regularly now. read more

I can't imagine that this store of 'eye candy delight' wouldn't have anything your looking for! Ok, maybe not motor oil or suppositories per say, but just about everything else. Betcha I could find a fly mounted in a display box if I looked hard enough! Yes, I'm serious! . If ya haven't been ya gotta go! It will make you seriously consider redoing every room in your house! On the down side ... the woman's bathroom is in need of SERIOUS attention. No toliet seat protectors, TOLIET PAPER, or hand soap!!! The hand soap containers were destroyed. I informed an employee. The shining employee of the day was Freya. She rang out our purchases ... and I hope the 'suit's' of the store appreciate her outstanding customer service, as she told us one of our items would be on sale next week! We decided to wait and left telling Freya how great she is! read more

I made my first and likely last visit to Hobby Lobby yesterday. Hubby needed some craft glue and thread. Since I was there I picked up some waterproof India ink. First impressions: 1) huge store, lots of stuff 2) no aisle signs, so store associates can only point you in a general direction 3) almost tripped on a clear plastic bin that an associate left on the floor they were stocking 4) the store was under-lit, making it feel quite gloomy When we were looking at the glue, it was hard to know how much things were because so many items didn't have price stickers on them, and of course there are no shelf tags. And then there is THE LINE. Just wow. There were four people ahead of us. Two checked out quickly and two took about ten minutes each. Then it was our turn. My husband's items had price stickers, alas, my ink did not have a sticker. It had been the only bottle on the shelf, so I didn't have the option of finding one with a sticker. Not knowing about the store's policy of "NO BAR CODE SCANNERS" I naively thought they could just scan the item at the register. The cashier called for a price check and nobody responded to her call. After waiting about a minute and tired of waiting in general, I decided it wasn't worth waiting who-knows-how-long for. What a sad place, lost in the Dark Ages of no signage, adherence to patriarchal religious standards, and no barcode scanners. If only they could manage to affix price stickers to every item without fail, and train and support their employees better. read more

Oh man... This store is my kryptonite! I am a very avid crafter and I can always come here to find just what I need for any project that I am doing. I frequent the art section for my older two kids as they love to draw so I am always looking for pastels, pencils, erasers, and sketch books for them. My middle kiddo loves rockets, model cars, and leather crafts. So I'm always looking for those things for him. And my littlest one is not quite big enough at 4 for most the things in the store but she loves to help me pick out fabric and yarn for my next project. I makes soap and one of my older girls makes candles. So I'm always looking at what new wax, scents, and containers. Their holiday section is always amazing and full of great deals if you can hold out to when they are about to switch holidays. But the prices are fantastic to begin with. And you can't go wrong with their 40% off coupon. I am in there almost weekly buying something for one of my many projects. read more

Had a great time shopping at Hobby Lobby today! 40% off all fabric. Love the Spring and Easter shopping aisles. I found everything I needed snd more. A shout out to the fantastic lady cutting my fabric today. What a nice and helpful person! Can't wait to go back! read more

I have been here a few times now, and I still get lost in this place. Lots and Lots of items to look at for anything crafty or home decor. The building is quite large. Great place to shop for deals, about every other week half the store seems to be half off. :) I haven't had to talk with any employees, but they do seem to be fairly easy to find should I need to. read more

For so many reasons, I've held off going into a Hobby Lobby. But I had to pick up a few items for a work event and I finally bit the bullet and came in. This place was HUGE. I thought it was just a crafts store, but they actually have a much larger home decor choice than the other big name crafts store in town. Like others, I do try to take advantage of sales, so this particular weekend was helpful because some of the items I needed were on sale. While it still won't be my preferred crafts store, it does what it's supposed to do. read more

amazing i love every part of it but as of late the staff has made the experience uncomfortable. since they are always moving things around it's always a 2 hour visit looking at everything. but lately it seems that is not ok to do without being harassed by staff. i was questioned by one guy in there asking if i need help. i said no but that wasn't enough. i just said i was looking he questioned for what and kept digging then other staff would follow me or stand in the same aisle. like i was going to steal. i have spent thousands of dollars here which in all honesty i shouldn't support a business that throws money towards anti gay matters. they made me so uncomfortable that i decided to tell my friend ill meet her in the car. i will never spend another dime at this store. you cant look around at everything apparently. so i will stick to michaels and other stores. it suxks i love this store but the way they treated me was so uncomfortable and made me feel insulted and humiliated. i dont need a babysitter but if you wanted me to leave and not spend money then mission accomplished. fyi if you are in the lgbtq community and work there or shop there. the head owners hate you and throw money towards anything anti gay. i will never come here again. wnd i have spent a lot of money here i hope they are happy they lost a loyal customer read more

I enjoy HL a lot. It's a more than a store to pick up scrapbooking supplies for me. I love the huge variety of home decor items that are at a reasonable price. Having said that I still watch for their even better sales and weekly coupon. It is a little different that other craft stores in the area. But the have better quality of what use. This is another one if those rare stores that close on Sundays to give the employees some family time- I appreciate that. read more

This review is for framing. I had a lot of art that I'd collected over the years that needed framing. I priced many local frame and art shops and got quotes more than double of Hobby Lobby. Mark is awesome! Knows he math, and knows his filets--(no not steaks). I've had over a dozen serigraphs framed there and have always been happy, and I'd say that I'm pretty particular about the details. read more

Went this morning to get a few things got to the register she rang me up handed her $100 she looked at me and said very rude you do realize it's to early for this and she said she would have to break it in the office but she won't I looked at her told her then never mind I'll take my business else where to Michaels I went read more

I shop here when I want something unique. This time I was looking for a unique kids birthday gift in the models and craft section. I found a different toy rocket set, you hop on a middle section and it launches a rocket. Two can play at the same time. It was priced about the same online. Well my grandson already had one so I took it back. The receipt I took in was from a different day where I bought some home decor. The cashier could not find the price on the box so she called for assistance. They came back and put a price sticker on it and that was the price I paid when I bought it. Next, she wanted to give me a gift card instead of cash. First she had me run my credit cards to see if the purchase was on them. The only 3 cards I carry on me were checked. She could not find the toy on there only the decor I bought at a later time. Now I figured I had a problem. She told me she could only give me a gift card for that amount and I told her I wanted the money to buy my grandson another gift and it would be someplace else since they did not have a lot of choices. She had on-duty assistant manager come and she agreed to give me back cash. I was super worried that I could not get a refund since I did not have the receipt. I was pleasantly surprised. When I got home I checked all three credit cards and the sale was on my VISA. Why they could not find it, I have no idea. But it did make me feel like I was trying to pull something over on them yet the cashier was super nice and kept apologizing to me. All-in-all it was a good experience even though it took 15 mins. read more

Love coming here for painting supplies! Every week there is some type of special for certain categories. I like to wait until the paint is 50% off haha! The store for the most part is always organized, The times that they arent as organized are usually on busy holidays but that's completely normal with all the hectic going on. Very kind staff, they always answer my questions. Have not had a bad experience read more

Great products but the flow of the traffic at checkout is terrible. Stood in line for over an hour just for the cashier to tell us she's closing. Two registers open and two workers standing at front not helping with checkout. Would highly recommend new store Managment or a front end supervisor that helps the checkout process be successful. read more

Great place that you could spend hours just looking around. They have everything that an artist or craft person could ever want.

Oh my goodness I was blown away when I first walked in by there amazing inventory. The littering have so much supplies from A to Z craft supplies, fabric's, fun home decor items galore. I shop here a lot and always notice how unhappy the associates seem to be. Now I know why. I was just in the store returning some items; some with a receipt, some without. The ASSOCIATE, LINDA, was very nice and helpful. She explained what she would be doing and that I would receive cash and store credit. Fine by me. She had to call a manager over to authorize the two items I was returning without a receipt. Without even acknowledging me or her associate, the long brown haired MANAGER, ALSO NAMED LINDA, asked her associate if she verified that the store still sells the items I was returning. The associate, Linda, replied that she did, and when asked who she verified it with, she said that she herself verified them (lol, awesome). The manager Linda said, "ok we need to stop doing that" and typed in her pass code with an attitude. She stood by while the associate finalized the transaction. Linda, associate, set down the receipt and pen for the manager to sign (laying it down facing her for ease). The manager grabbed the receipt and pulled it away quickly saying "thanks". Really? Linda the manager never acknowledged me and scowled throughout the time she was at the register. That is not how a manager behaves. No wonder staff look so defeated. The stars I gave are for the associates. I feel bad for them. Shame on you, Linda, and your terrible leadership and lack of customer service. If you're upset that YOUR staff continue doing something you don't like (self verifying items), talk to them. Lead them. And do so as a manager would, with an encouraging, appreciative, and professional demeanor. And if you are catty about it, guaranteed they will not follow your direction. Its really that simple. read more

When it comes to art supplies, crafts or items to decorate your home, Hobby Lobby has a plethora of goodies. I love to cross stitch in the evening when I get off work or when the weather makes you feel like staying indoors. I went to Michael's, and JoAnns in search of new cross stitch kits and their selection was quite dull. Many of them were small pieces and they were on the expensive side. I have never been into Hobby Lobby and decided to give it a shot before trying to purchase and hunt for kits online. They can be expensive when buying online and they are usually shipped from countries like the Ukraine and take a while to get here. Wow, I was blown away when I came inside. Rows and aisles of endless supplies for any type of crafter. I finally found the embroidery and cross stitch section and I was like a kid in a candy store. Great prices, cute modern kits. There were some on clearance. Don't forget to check the website for 40 percent off coupons. Yeah! Walked out very happy and I am sure I will be busy needlepointing for many hours. read more

Although I absolutely love hobby lobby as a store, this one in particular is so disrespectful. I went in to do some Christmas shopping and get things for my new apartment, and the whole time the staff followed me around as if I was a thief. I was completely disgusted by their Discrimination of me that I left my cart and walked out! And this isn't the first time, but I Guarantee it will be the last! I have never stolen anything! Not this store or none! Many of my friends have said the same thing about this store. I feel profiled wrongly and discriminated against. Is it my dyed color hair? My unique clothing style? Because I am white? Young? Whatever they are profiling me as I have done nothing wrong and don't deserve this kind of treatment! No one does! read more

I really went in looking for a Mardi Gras mask and the selection was very limited. I did see that they had so many departments and looked great to view and buy. Honestly I went for an item that they didn't have but they did refer me to the proper place. I think if I was looking for household items, artwork, or even seasonal items... that wasn't my gig at the time. I will go back when I'm looking for specific items for the home or outdoor items plus some party favors or crafty items other that, they were very helpful to guide me to destination for what I was looking for. I'll check them out at a later date! read more

Let me start off by saying I used to drive down to Sacramento to visit a Hobby Lobby. I am thrilled to have one in town finally! They have an extensive scrapbooking selection that I love. The christmas decor here was better than anywhere else in town and reasonably priced as well. This is my go to spot for almost all craft supplies. There is such a large variety of hobby essentials. They have everything from dollhouse furniture to fabric to party supplies. This is your one stop shop for pretty much everything and it all comes at a reasonable price. There is a ton of home decor for every season and holiday here. You must download the app to keep up with the sales and coupons. There are coupons posted each week! The only miss is that there are rarely enough cashier's working to handle the lines of people wanting to check out. Also, keep in mind this place is closed on Sundays! read more

I do not spend my money here but I do go with others who do. A lot of product scattered all over a large store. When you ask an employee where you might find something, they know and take you to it, very nice. You gather what you want and go to check out and then you wait, every time. Usually there is a problem with the person at the register, either the product does not show up wen scanned, or the price is wrong, or some other problem that can not be figured out quickly. So the lines pile up and you try to figure which line will move along only to change and then that one stalls with yet more problems. This has happened every time I have gone here. read more

This is such a cool place, I could spend all day here. I may have a problem! There is so much to look at I literally get dizzy from walking up and down each isle. Hobby Lobby offers online coupons for 40% off one regular priced item and in so store deals of 40-50% off. Do sign up for email offers and they'll send you weekly deals and coupons or download their app. Everytime I enter this store I get inspired to redecorate or I have an idea for DYI project. Employees are always helpful and so friendly that I can't wait to come in and see what I get into. read more

Stopped in at Hobby Lobby after they first opened, and I have to say, I wasn't impressed. They seem to have a lot of floral, bridal, and decor, but when it really comes down to hobbies, not so much. I looked at the yarn aisle, and they had most of the standard retail stuff, and their notions and needles, meh. I can get much more online, and at much better prices. As for their prices, everyone raves about their 50% off, but it seems to me, what they do is mark up the prices like crazy, and then take 50% off to make them almost reasonable. I don't think they're any kind of deal at all. As for the staff, they all acted liike we were invisible, except for the lady in framing, who was very helpful, and answered a bunch of questions my husband had about framing his photographs. She was great, and the only reasons I'm giving two stars. The other employees were just meh, like the prices and the store. The final reason I wouldn't shop here is the store owner's political beliefs, which they chose to make so public. I can't support a store that won't support their employees' medical needs, so I won't spend a penny here. "Nuff said. read more

Okay, so I'll give it 3 stars for all of the cool & cute items they carry. That being said, I give the employees 0 stars because they are rude and their customer service skills are clearly lacking and need improvement! I felt as though they resembled the Stepford Wives, unable to express any emotion or connection with the customers. 2 visits and both times I felt like an outsider. So, my next trip to a craft store will probably be to Michaels and not HL. read more

I adore this place! I had no idea what this place was but just moving here with an empty house, I was blown away with their home decor items.
