Luv, luv, luv the products in the store!!! The lines are CRAZY long... like all the time.!! I just spent 10 mins in a line. The cashier charged me for frames and I only have 4. I couldnt tell because it doesn't show items right on a screen in front of you. I was starting to walk out, and I noticed what happened. I asked a lady of front that appeared to be a manager if I was over charged, she said yes. I asked if I had to stand in the Loooooong line for refunds and exchanges, she said yup. This was not my error. To make matters worse.... it's not even a line JUST for refunds and exchanges, they are ringing people up as well. This place would get 5 stars due to having all the stuff my wife loves to buy, however the checkout process is horrid. We waiting in line for 30 minutes and still had 3 people ahead of us before we said "screw it" and left our cart in the checkout line and left the store without buying anything. read more

What a terrible shopping experience! Asked a worker where to find soap making products and was briskly pointed in a general direction. There are signs on the walls but they are all below the level of the shelves so they can't be seen from anywhere except the isle along the wall. Nearly impossible to find anything. The prices are very high compared to online and even other brick and mortar shops. I honestly can't see how they stay in business except that they carry a lot of products. I don't shop here and I don't like the store. I'm just here to drop someone off. Soon after they first opened, several years ago, I came to see what all the hoopla was about. I found that their prices were incredibly high for the same things that I could get elsewhere. I am an artist. I draw, paint and sculpt. I also do beadwork. I adore this place! I had no idea what this place was but just moving here with an empty house, I was blown away with their home decor items. It's always clean, well merchandised and their staff is always on the floor to answer all of my questions. If there is something that I love there and I want to buy, I just wait until it's on sale, then I go buy it. If you are hard-core knitter, etc. They are closed on Sundays. Great selection and service. I can spend hours in this store. Easy to return items and bathrooms are clean. They only thing is that sometimes items are up out of reach up above shelves so I have to usually find someone to pull one down and a lot of the items are damaged, so when you purchase, make very certain it looks good before going home. This is a store for crafts galore. Every time my wife decides to make gifts, this is where we head. They have everything from frames, very large (oversized) paper flowers, wedding supplies, sewing supplies, etc. Even home decor, this place really is a Michaels and a Joann Fabrics combine. We headed in, grabbed our supplies, and headed to the line. The items we needed were already marked 50% off. Once we were being checked out, the checker had an ad she had scanned and gave us an additional discount! Everything is cheaper here! I am here to state that this place is freaking awesome if you are a super crafty person like myself. The store is huge. They have large year-round sections for the major holidays. That is pretty cool in my opinion because I love Halloween so being able to check out Halloween stuff in February may be something that would cross my mind. The prices aren't the best but I was shocked when the little scrolly sign that I thought I was going to pay $25 for rang up half price. That was a nice little surprise. A wonderful store w not so nice cashiers. I forgot my coupon for 40% in the car but had all my kids w me on a hot day and could not go get it and come back inside as they were all so crazy and the line was long. So the cashier was quite rude about it and never even smiled when we first met. She had way to much purple eye shadow on which made her look mean and her attitude topped it off. She wasn't happy for some reason and my lack of coupon had no effect on her accept maybe making her more mad. Sorry lady! I do love this store j just wish they carried the 40% off coupon in the store as I really did have one in the car. This was a few months ago. Hobby Lobby has always been my first stop for anything craft or art related. I used to buy matte board here constantly when in my college art program. They have a huge selection of anything you could possibly need for your next project. Hobby Lobby's rival has always been Michael's but I definitly prefer the bright orange and warehouse feel of Hobby Lobby. They always have weekly sales on everything and make sure you take advantage of the Hobby Lobby app which has a 40% off coupon you can use once a day. Also remember that they are closed on Sundays so plan on going Saturday to buy your supplies for that art project due on Monday that you procrastinated on. ~BMO read more

For the record, I'm of the male species. Some may even suggest that I come from a line of Alpha males. Normally the Alpha male has never been seen wandering outside of his territory but on this occasion, I courageously set foot into this unknown land called Hobby Lobby. I came here to accompany my consort, the matriarch of my brood. As I strolled through the large cavernous aisle, I can see young female earth dwellers' eyes penetrate me. Unsure if they are enchanted by my Alpha male stance as I stop and look at the novelties dangling from the man-made walls, I hurry through to be sure that my consort does not see me and form a sense of jealousy. Even an Alpha male has its weakness. This uncharted land is colossal. While I was distracted by all the fixtures here, I have lost my companion. I don't even know where to look. My senses are bombarded with things I never seen before. My snout is overwhelmed by rows of smell! I run into more of the female species and now I know why they are gazing at me. It's not be cause of my Alpha male status but the opposite. With all the elements assaulting me. I look confused as a baby doe just born with his legs wobbling. The female motherly instincts kicks in and this lioness that has been branded by Hobby Lobby as Susan ask me if I needed help. To keep what little manhood that I had left, I bump my chest and declined her help. Finally leaving the aisle of harden liquefied flowers, I caught wind of fresh air held by mechanical steel and glass doors and immediately scurried towards it. As I attempted to leave this wilderness, my companion yelps at me. She communicates to me that I must trade the riches of my kingdom for the goods she has acquired, reminding me, I am Alpha male. read more

Worst place I've ever been for mat cutting! I told the guy exactly what I wanted and showed him on the print. He didn't bother to take the print out of the frame but you could see exactly here the print ended. He disappeared without any further discussion. The mat took about 2 minutes to cut and SURPRISE!! I was handed a slip with a $20 charge. No mention of price before cutting. When I home and put it in the frame It didn't fit. I went back with the dimensions and talked to a woman. Stating the mat was not cut to fit the print and gave her the dimensions. She said "this will be the LAST TIME IT WOULD BE CUT FOR FREE". She didn't look at the mat I returned but walked away and then came back with a mat cut to the dimensions but the proportions were wrong. Then she looked at the original mat and said, "looks like the bottom was bigger". Great customer service... NOT! They are so arrogant (and stupid, apparently) they must think we speak through brain waves without words but so far that hasn't worked out very well. If you want a mat cut I suggest you hand them a sketch with proportions and drawn to scale. I will NEVER visit that department again! For the love of God, please open more lanes! This store is up where with Walmart with how badly they staff. Just yesterday I was twelfth in line and there were another six people behind me when it was finally my turn to checkout. While I was waiting in line to pay, then phone rang. I watched the manager go over and answer. She promptly hung up, and walked over to the cashier and whispered that someone had just called and told her to open another check out. She then went and stood by the front door and just thanked people as they left. What was supposed to be a quick 20 min trip turned into an hour just because of the 15 mins I had to stand in line. I actually saw two separate people put their stuff down and just walk out. As far as stock goes - it's just as good as the other Hobby Lobby's I've been to. I think next time though, if I'm in a hurry, I'll just try another store unless it's absolutely necessary. read more

What can you say about this crafters paradise? They have it all and then some. Furniture, decor, art supplies, jewellery making and even fabric. I used to have to order Many things online since Joanns and michaels are hit or miss these days especially in the jewellery making departments. I love the online coupon and their rows upon rows of amazing goods! I did almost have heart failure when I noticed the front half of the store was already Christmas in July but I guess we all need a head start! Love this place! read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Essentially the store clerk claimed we were liars. We purchased over $100.00 worth of merchandise. A small $8 pen did not make it in the store bag but was on the receipt. We went back the next day and the clerk flat out told us. NO everything made it in the bag. We must have lost it. We were told. Huge store with lots to choose from, but be cautious of what you're buying...Much of the stuff is cheap, not inexpensive, just cheap. About a year ago we bought a no-glue model airplane (fighter jet) for my young son and two pieces didn't fit in correctly so it never held together right. It went into the trash within a few months. The REASON FOR TWO STARS? I recently returned a few items *with a receipt* and was treated as though they thought I was a shoplifter. I spent about an hour shopping for other products afterward. The entire time I was awkwardly followed around the store, being watched by the man I believe was the manager as well as several other employees. No one ever asked if I needed help, they just hovered around the areas I was shopping in without purpose the ENTIRE HOUR. It was helpful when I needed a large piece of furniture brought down, they were right there! But it was so obvious that they were following and watching me, I was very uncomfortable. I have never stolen anything in my life and this experience was certainly new to me. To say I was insulted is an understatement. Had I not been on a mission to find a few things I was sure they'd have (and they did), I would have left. It was the most awkward and insulting shopping experience I have ever had. Although this store has an abundance of holiday and home decor, they're customer service is the worst. They always have long lines to checkout. Today I was going to buy three items that were displayed for 50% off, once at checkout I told the lady who then told me to go bring the sign or go and take a picture of it with my phone....uhm, no that's not my job to do. If you are interested in quilting or just being home decorating items you won't be disappointed, except maybe by the prices which seem a tad high for what is available. My first and last visit to Hobby Lobby. Let's start with the fact that the store is, indeed, huge but, it lacks any signage. There is nothing to help you find the departments and good luck getting help. I walked back and forth, past employees, for 30 minutes looking for items and not a single person asked if I needed help. Eventually, I just went and got someone who has to get someone else who actually worked in the department. This person didn't even know their own department and lacked knowledge of what I was referring to or how to do it. Useless. Don't try asking about something in another department because that involves getting the person in the other department who also has no clue. Next, they do not stock all the needed pieces complete a project. They might have 1/2 of the items, but not the others and no substution suggestions because the clerk has no knowledge. Let's add that their stock is not ordered by sales. Each item is manually ordered. This means that if the tag needed to order a product is gone, it won't get ordered. The same will happen if a product is placed in the wrong spot covering the out of stock tag. Great system Hobby Lobby. Now, take some time and look into the political stance of the corporation, their bigoted views and that should finalize your decision to avoid this place. I love this place! The craft gods created their own heaven and called it Hobby Lobby. This place has a plethora of everything you could ever need, craft supplies, home decor, framing and more. The prices are reasonable, usually there are great sales and the staff is efficient and friendly. If you've never been before, be prepared to spend at least an hour inside. Even if you know what you're looking for it can be a task to find, but regardless you'll be lost wandering and eyeing all the stuff you don't really need but convince yourself you can't live without. read more

My only regret is not coming sooner!! I thought Michael's was cool. Hobby Lobby blows it out of the water! I recently started my own business baking. They have every bakers dream! I had to remind myself to put some stuff back because I almost had the whole dang isle in my little cart. My one complaint and probably biggest complaint was the fact that now isles are labeled. It took me a good 15 mins to find the isle I was looking for and I couldn't seem to find an employee to help me out. The holiday displays could use a little help. They look like they took every cute holiday item they could find and put it on the display. I have big plans for this place. So many crafty ideas and home decor ideas popped into my head as I browsed the store. Could be VERY dangerous for a shopaholic like myself. I can't wait or bring my mom here, she is a crafty woman herself. To my quilting lovers: they have a huge selection of fabric! The prices are great too. I must say hobby lobby is one of my all time favorite stores! However the last time I was there was just awful. I asked where the bathroom was and the boy looked around 16 just looked at me and said behind you along that wall and went along talking about girls with his fiends come to find out the bathroom was on the totally opposite side of the store. Whatever I keep going on and shopping. I buy a few things and get home and realize she completely adding something I hadn't even bought. She charged me $8 for a candle. I didn't buy a $8 candle?? We drove down to Hobby lobby from Truckee for a 9 x 12 light box they had in stock for $159.99. Paid for it and after they charged my card they inform me that they don't have any in stock and that it wasn't in on this truck load. (they just put an empty box on the shelf so you pick it up at the front register because it's a high theft item because of the price is what they said) If it isn't in stock then pull the box off the shelf! That way both customers and employees are aware that that is not in stock so it doesn't waste a customers time and gas. They had two cashiers open at 6 PM at night and left everyone behind me sitting there while they refunded the $205.92 (I put the rest of my stuff back too I will just go find somewhere else) i'm so disheartened by this wasted trip and wasted time. read more

They have a huge assortment of things that require little to no work as far as art. I was looking for Ceramicoat paint but found none here. They do carry a lot of acrylic paint and paint brushes. Really, they have a lot of articles that require little hobby knowledge as far as painting. This store has a lot of fake, but life-like flowers for arrangements and finished or unfinished boxes and decor. The store is huge. I did have to go to Michael's for some of my artistic material needs. But, I really like this store. I gave them 3 out of 5 because I was unable to find all my needed art supplies. read more

Definitely a chick store. I needed some simple sewing supplies and decided to check out the store. The sewing supplies are in the far corner and they had everything I needed. But this doesn't seem to have much other stuff to interest me. But I'm pretty sure that I am not in their demographic market. This review is for Mary N who was my cashier when I came to make an exchange. During this visit I stood in the return/exchange line for almost an hour. I had no issue waiting being that the store was very busy and I had planned to make the trip. After waiting and finally getting to the register it came to my attention that the woman who seemed to be the store or shift manger was being little to no help to her associates. Mary seemed to be struggling with the system and the "manager" was annoyed and irritated with her every time she had a question... Mary did a great job working through the pressure of over 10+ people in her line and trying to overcome each problem she encountered. She maintained a positive attitude and was doing her best to get everyone rang quickly. If her "manager" would have been more supportive and willing to be of any help whatsoever the process would have been quicker for customers and the associate. Or maybe she should have taken over for the associate instead of letting her drowned when she is clearly still doing her best to learn.. terrible manager. Hobby Lobby has been a go to for my family and I for all our home decor and craft projects. We have been to many with no problems. We recently moved to the area and decided to go to hobby lobby here in Reno, NV area. Worst experience we have ever had. Bathrooms were a mess. ( no sanitizing soap, no seat covers and half the stall were out of order) Horrible customer service. Had to wait in line for about 10 minutes to ask a cashier to price check an item because we couldn't find anyone to price check for us. The cashier didn't know what a price check was. I'm sorry, what!? How do your employees not know what a price check is? She calls another person over and so I ask him for the price check explaining that some items have orange reduce tags and some don't so I want to verify the prices and he just say "no those ones are not reduced. I asked again if he can please check because I wanted to buy all the ones reduced and again just tells me no they're not reduced. Doesn't offer to check and verify any of the products. Felt very dismissive like neither wanted to help. Not only that but not one employee greeted us or asked if we were finding things okay or needed help. Store semi messy. Hard to go down some aisles. Multiple ladders left open on aisles. Boxes/cardboard left on aisles. Couldn't look at the marked down clearance items because of left holiday boxes stacked in front of the items. Overall the only thing that worked out was the 40% off coupon. We will not be returning unless we absolutely need to. We will looking for a better experience elsewhere.
