We had came in the last thirty minutes before they closed so we had a whole cart full when we proceeded to checkout which was around 6 minutes after they closed. We felt really bad for having to hold her back from closing but she was kind enough to ring us up and told us it was okay. Just for that it's a 5 stars, most people would've had an attitude, which would've been understandable but she was sweet enough to help us. I recently shopped at this Walmart and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the cashier was very friendly and helpful, and I appreciated the affordable prices and good selection of items. However, I was disappointed that there were no self-checkout options available. Self-checkout is much more convenient for me, especially when I'm in a hurry or only have a few items. Not having that option made the process slower and less efficient. I was also frustrated that certain items, like formula, are locked up and have to be escorted to the front by an employee. While I understand the need for security, it makes the shopping experience less convenient and adds extra wait time. Overall, the staff and prices were great, but the lack of self-checkout and the locked items made the experience less convenient than I would have liked. read more

Make it persuasive I have always been a loyal shopper at this store and pharmacy, but my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed. Yesterday, I bought a box of ice cream cones, and when we opened it at home, my daughter discovered that several cones were missing. We threw away the remaining cones because they had been tampered with. After keeping my receipt, I attempted to call the store three times, but I could not get through. I then contacted Sam's Club, which informed me that they do not accept perishables as returns but instructed me to bring in my receipt for resolution. I visited Walmart last night with my receipt and explained the situation to the store manager, "Sabrina". I was shocked... she was extremely rude and disrespectful, treating me as if I was wrong and was attempting to steal ice cream!! She had a horrible attitude; it was almost as if she enjoyed being "bitchy and in charge"! She acted like I was in the wrong! She was confrontational, and she insisted on having the actual cones returned, claiming the receipt was inadequate while also stating their policies are different from those at Sam's Club. I am a senior, a licensed Social Worker, and have been a Top Producing Reno Realtor for 30 years! I definitely do not need to swindle or steal 8 ice cream cones from Walmart. All she had to do was make a wrong right. Due to this ridiculous experience, I am deciding to transfer my prescriptions from this store and will not return in the future. I plan to file an ethics complaint regarding this incident, as no one should ever be treated in such a demeaning manner. This was an innocent situation that warranted a far more understanding response. read more

We shopped at Walmart the other and while the store was full of shoppers, the was a little bit in disarray, the atmosphere wasn't chaotic; in fact, it was surprisingly calm. There were so many employees restocking shelves, directing shoppers to open registers or answering general questions from customers. The young lady that rang up our purchases was earnestly polite which made our overall shopping experience pleasant. read more

This place sucks. Employees actively avoid trying to help you. They literally turn and run the other way when you walk toward them. All either say they don't know or can't help and will try to pass you off to another employee by having you wait for someone else and then no one else shows up. There's not much anyone can add to WalMart.. This has a great Pharmacy staff. They make every effort to know their clients & maintain a well stocked inventory. This store has addressed the cluttered asiles. Finally, 2 carts can pass each othewithout having to back out of the way. The bakery consistently keeps their items fresh. The store was clean. I went into the restroom in the front of the store.(since they have permanently closed the on in the rear of the store) When I was washing my hands, an able-bodied employee used the handicapped stall. There were 2 regular stalls available. An elderly woman came in Immediately behind her. We could see her feet under the door. She was clearly finished. She didn't come out before playing on her phone. Walmart needs to remind their employees that able bodied people should use the regular stalls especially if they are going to use their phones!!! read more

This Walmart is so bad that they have security and Reno police posted here Monday through Friday, still no self check out still no cashiers still long lines, not only that but they still check receipts but 100% racially profile. Bill pay services are never available, they have new Asset protection who harass and threaten customers who are in line or around the store. So... I've never really shopped at Walmart in general. Usually in the past, and in other places I've lived, I've always shopped at Target. You know, clean well lit and really well priced items. But lately it's been kind of a no,no to shop there for "reasons". I usually abide because I really only want to give my money to companies that are community aware and are kind to their employees. But most of all don't impede in the political landscape and try to step on people's rights. You know... like hobby lobby. I won't shop there anymore either. Where was I? Oh yeah! So if you Yelp all the Walmart stores in the Reno area they all hover around the two star ratings. Shopping for food is the only thing that is not lacking here. Very cost effective compared to other stores. But since the uproar over Target stores DEI policies and drop in sales and customer loyalty they have become very competitive. Also: unlike Walmart... Items are not locked up. There are no "asset management" patrols in the stores making shoppers feel uncomfortable and the prices are better than Walmart. The stores are clean and organized. I'm not saying go and shop at target instead of Walmart. I'm saying: I'm not shopping at Walmart myself. It's not a pleasant place to shop at all. read more

I got the things I needed, but the inventory's been on a decline into disarray for the past few years. Common amenities like changing rooms and restrooms are often inaccessible, and items especially clothing are often disorganized with wrong size tags and placements (though I fault the customer for this more likely). Shout out to Rosita for safe guarding Walmart exit. Oct 31, 2023 around 3PM one dude tried to steal a luggage and wearing an unpaid jacket. Rosita jumped into action, confronting the thief and didn't back down even though she was pushed real hard. It happened in less than a second and I'm more concerned with Rosita above anything else. Every single time I've gone to this Walmart I've been approached in the parking lot. Today I parked and almost immediately a woman came up to my window and opened her sign. I waved her away and not even a minute later she was at my passenger window doing the same thing. I watched the security check all the cars parked in handicap for their placards but he really should be keeping these people away from shoppers. It's unpleasant and I didn't even want to get out of my car. If I didn't need to pick up a cake I wouldn't have been there. Worst Walmart experience ever! In between our inclement weather, I needed to make a quick run to pick up groceries to restock the kitchen shelves in preparation for our next storm. Every functional shopping cart was in use and the only ones left had locked wheels. What a fiasco! I grabbed one and it was the loudest, most uneven ride I could possibly experience. Makes your shopping experience a most grumpy one at that. I made the best of it, and got a lot of attention. Made me chuckle on the inside. Very disappointed in this store. I purchased a vacuum to be delivered from this location and they claim it's out of stock but do not reach out to see if I want a substitution. Then, I order a different vacuum for delivery which came severely cracked, missing the charging cable, in an obviously resealed box that was probably a returned item. How hard does it have to be to get a vacuum? I ordered my last vacuum to be shipped from Walmart.com and the delivery person dropped it outside of my locked apartment building instead of taking it inside to the parcel locker and it was stolen. Auto Center broke the key to my car when I got two tires replaced. The Team Lead had the audacity to blame me saying I knew it was in a condition to break. It is one thing to damage customers property, but to turn it back on them? Terrible customer service from this place and recommend going elsewhere. I came here to share my experience with this specific Walmart. This happened to me yesterday: I went with my wife to buy some things for our home around 7 p.m., and between loading the car and rushing to get back home, we didn't realize we had forgotten our wallets -- with our IDs, cash, and many important documents. Around 11 p.m., we were desperately searching everywhere for our wallets, but they were nowhere to be found. So we decided to go back to Walmart to see if by any chance we had dropped them there, and sure enough, they were there. I'm truly grateful to the staff who work at this Walmart for being such honest people and for keeping an eye on items that we sometimes forget in a rush. I have a love hate relationship with this Wally World location. First, I go here most often because I feel like out of all the Wallys in Reno/Sparks area this is the most stocked. It could also be because it is one of the busiest so they try to keep up with inventory, which is great! Second, due to the location it can get uber busy here after the typical office/work hours. Even picking up online orders--to save time--can have you waiting for at least 20 minutes. I suppose though that is better than going in and walking around the store for my items during their peak hours. The dilemna of coming in or making an online order to pickup in a Wally is always apparent every time I visit this location LOL! But hey, if you want your online order for pickup to be almost complete then this is best location that I found among all of the Wallys. It sucks when half of my groceries is available at let's say E 2nd which is closest to our home, then the other half at W 7th LOL! read more

With regard to Walmart Supercenter #2189, Kietzke Lane. Reno, NV Calling the store? Service absolutely terrible!! I needed to check on price and availability of a replacement automobile battery. The auto service extension is (775) 829-4413. Called the number more than 3 times. Initially the auto answer machine picks up stating thanks for calling. Then the phone rings until the constant ringing annoys someone who picks up and then hangs up. This lack of client service needs to be addressed. What this indicates is management could care less to client issues. If this store only desires walk-in or online sales, then disconnect any and all phones that customers can call. If you require automotive services, recommend going elsewhere. read more

Expect to wait 30+ minutes for a pick up order even if you're on time and watch several people come and go even though you were there first. Not sure how they determine when the order will be ready but it's incredibly inaccurate. Hopefully you don't have anything else to do after this because they won't answer the phone either. read more

OK so the one star rating stands. I picked up several flower basket outside to garden section today. Of course, there were no carts available in the area, so I figured I'd check out in the garden center. After lugging my purchases across the outdoor center to inside, I discovered the registers were closed. I was advised to lug my purchases to the front of the store for checkout. Now mind you, during this whole conversation no one offered, and there were 3 Walmart associates near me, to even find me a cart to put my hanging baskets in to get them to the front of the store for check out. I should know by now customer service is a four letter word at Walmart as I am continually disappointed when I expect any focus on customer needs or any intelligent thought on the part of Walmart associates. read more

This store is garbage. Hardly EVER a grocery cart in the front of the store, I have to go hunt one on my own .. hoping it's not "locked" and will wheel into the store without too much hassle. Today, as I was about to do the self check out and about to spend $263, a worker approached me and insisted since I had more than 15 items, I "HAD" to use a live person and can't do the self check. I pushed back and said I didn't want to, there were no signs saying I can't use the self check. I have gotten to like the self check out and can manage them with very little need for a human to come clear the error. I work much faster than the human, even with produce - so yes I like using the self check out and now you're taking them away ? But yet - still want to stop me on the way out of the store because you want to see my receipt ? RIDICULOUS ! read more

I've been to many Walmarts and include several dozen visits to this one. With the exception of the pharmacy which has treated me very professionally, this one is noticeably inferior to those others. Being a big store, I often need assistance finding what I want. Here in particular, the staff is ill-equipped to answer me. I often have to speak to three or more folks to find something and often then give up. There seems to be a lack of store knowledge, difficulty in communicating English, or a general surliness. I might tend to blame this on a difficult local neighborhood labor market, but I don't find such poor customer service at any of the other big retailers nearby. Secondly, there is usually stock, trash, and debris blocking several aisles virtually every time I visit. This is unacceptable and wonder why management has allowed this situation to persist for several years -- easily my worst Walmart experience! read more

I am always quick to put down Walmart, but yesterday they earned a great review. We had terrible weather here in Reno the last few days. The roads were barely drivable. For a few reasons, I had to get items delivered from Walmart. I actually ordered 3 diff shops, and had everything delivered each time. HUGE shout to Walmart, as well as their delivery services, DoorDash and UberEats. ALL came through for me, 100%. The last item was very important, and my entire project was over if Walmart and/or their respective delivery service fell through. However, my last driver showed up on time (between 8-9pm) in scary weather I wouldn't want to drive in. Thanks Walmart/DoorDash/UberEats. You saved my life on Dec 27!
