I noticed I was on empty and the maverick was right there normally I go to Costco, but I'd never make it. The Maverick is a nice store the people are friendly. It's easy access off of Prater way and Sparks Blvd. I'm think I almost had a heart attack when I read the gas pump was $5.59 for premium and $5.19 for regular. My SUV took 14 gallons almost $82. YIKES!!! I hope the war is over soon and we can get back to $3 a gallon range. read more

All the male workers there are Very nice and efficient. But some of the younger women are all about having a convo with their coworkers while leaving a costumer waiting. Since they were ignoring us. We witnessed a woman politely ask (After about a minute), "Are u open on this register?" Response verbatim, (After she was done with her private convo); "Im standing right here aren't I". with a lot of 'tude. wow! we all looked at each other a little put off. I have recently decided to stop spending 'big-Bucks' at the well know coffee chain for my daily coffee fix. At $5.68 per cup, the cost could really add up. I still require my morning coffee and Mavericks Gas has an amazing coffee station. First off the price is fairly decent @ $1.79 for large $1.99 for extra large, considering they have 6 different fresh brewed coffees. Add to this all the amenities included in the price, I think it's an excellent deal. Finally, each time I visit, the workers are friendly, helpful and just plain 'oL happy. Here is an excerpt from my first visit at a different Maverick" "When I walked in, I was greeted by an elderly gentleman that asked if you could help me. I told him I was just there for some coffee but I've never had it before. He began to explain the different types of coffees and all of the things that I could add to it. I was really impressed. But friendly or not, I still have to try my coffee right? There were about six or seven different choices of fresh brewed coffee. Dark Brazilian roast, light Sumatra , high caffeine, House blend, Colombian, decaffeinated. I decided to go with about 2/3's cup of the house blend, and added 1/3'rd of the dark Brazilian roast. I do cream and sugar, and the elderly gentleman that works there came up to me and handed me a couple of little containers of 'Stōk' espresso caffeine. The warning label on it said 'warning do not take more than two a day' LOL. So I asked him how much the extra shots were, he said they're included with the coffee bar. Bonus! As for the cream and sugar, there is a large selection of international delight creams with flavor, and cold stone creamery cream.. I went with cold stone cream. I also noticed there were about six or eight flavored syrups that could be pumped into the coffee. Caramel, vanilla and I didn't catch the name of the other ones. But yeah, lots of options for your daily cuppa Joe." After you get your coffee fix. They have a hot food bar, a hot dog bar, a cold deli section, and a pastry/donut section. Typically, at the majority of Maverick's that I've been to, I've experienced nothing less than stellar customer service. This Maverick's however, is different. The manager, Zac must hate his job.. Seems like it anyways. Or maybe he just hates people. In either case, he probably shouldn't be a manager in the customer service industry if he doesn't want to even say a word to customers that he's supposed to be helping out in the store.. I was just in there with my family & Zac was our cashier. He didn't say hello when we walked up, nor did he tell me the total price of the merchandise.. He just stared at me until I asked.. After I had paid for my items, Ian threw my change down on the counter, put up a "next cashier" sign & walked away.. My husband & I both were in complete shock at the behaviour of the manager. Before leaving, I made sure to ask another employee for the general manager's contact information. The general manager needs to be made aware of how unprofessional & rude the manager of his store is. Maverik has gone downhill. It no longer deserves four stars. For one thing, it seldom has the least expensive gas anymore. I fueled there today because the Gas Buddy information was wrong. Another lure was the decent hot, fresh food. But they have cut back drastically on that. But I think the final straw for me was the continued problem with some employees. The guy who checked me out today was great, an asset to the store. But I asked another employee a simple question and she couldn't be bothered to answer me. They do not ding you if you use your debit card. They have quite a few pumps so you can get in and out fast. There convenience store is well stocked with plenty of products to fill you up. He ran over to check me out so that I wouldn't have to use the self-check, recognized that what I was buying was for a road trip, and then gave me extra bags for trash, free cookie coupons, and two activity books for my kids. "If you clean it, they will come!" Why can these guys do it but hardly anyone else can? I'm in outside sales, I'm in my car 6-8 hours a day. I have to stop sometimes. I will go out of my way to find a Maverick store and Yes, because of that... That's where I will also get gas, buy water, snacks and lunch sometimes. So clean restrooms equal $$. At least my dollars. Gas prices, if not the lowest are close enough most of the time. Snacks and quick food variety is better than most similar places. There are even some fresh fruit, veggie and other healthy options. My favorite gas station. They always have enormous discount deal son their gas. Last time i got gas it was 2.65 and discounted down to 2.19 with my nitro card. I use their digital punch cards regularly and get many free items with them. Their deli area is awesome. I love their breakfast burritos and my friend loves getting their breakfast bowls. Their coffee is a but strong but i like strong so i have no complaints. Not my favorite but not bad either. Their salads are good and I like the convenience of picking one ip on my way yo work or home for dinner. Their staff is always full of smiles and extremely friendly and helpful. This Maverick is where I get Diesel fuel while in Sparks. The price is cheaper than most other places in the area, but for some reason is still usually 5-10 cents more expensive than the location in Panther Valley. They offer the usual plethora of convenience store goodies as the rest of the Maverick locations. I will continue to fuel up here when in the area, but won't make a special trip. read more

I did not get gas here as I did not need it. On our way to a nursery in Sparks I was parched and needed some liquid. We opted to go here in stead of stopping at a drive through. The store is nice and bright and well stocked with all sorts of stuff, and clean. We got our drinks and paid. The cashier was nice while sporting a smile. I've been coming to this particular Maverick location for 2 years now, and I really like it! Their gas prices are usually about average for the area and with their rewards card you get an extra 2 cents of each gallon. Also with their rewards card, you can earn free stuff such as foundation drinks, milkshakes, chips, etc., and it's always nice to earn free stuff! During the day they prepare and serve various freshly made hot food items such as hot dogs, sandwiches, some type of pizza thing, etc. They also have a big cold case that features freshly made salads, sandwiches, snacks, and fruit. The inside of the store is always very clean, organized, and well stocked. Items are clearly marked with whatever sale or deal they have going on at the time. The staff is super nice and helpful. I've dealt with a large number of employees over the past few years and can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience here! The gas pumps are always CLEAN which I highly appreciate! I've had more than one pair of shoes completely ruined because I have stepped in puddles of oil, antifreeze, other various engine fluids, and one time I even accidentally stepped into a huge puddle of freaking GASOLINE at the Pilot out in Fernley. I was wearing a pair of flip flops that had this almost cork like sole and it absorped the gasoline! I had to take them off and throw them away right there! The manager did nothing. Anyways, the fact that the pump area is kept very clean is something I look for at a gas station, and if you do let any employee know that there is a puddle of some sort out there, they are on it ASAP and it's cleaned up! If you're in Sparks near this location, it's a great place to either just stop for gas, and to pick up a snack or quick bite! read more

I've been going here almost everyday since they've opened...I rarely get the food but it's a nice option, like the muffins and used to like the breakfast pizzas....they did away with those, kinda surprised since they cater to a lot of men workers..anyway the muffins started to change not nearly as good? New bakers?? The bread comes out of Utah.An old fashioned recipe just like mom made with simple ingredients Their butter cup milkshake is a golden find on hot summer days. We live around the corner, it's convenient and with our discount gas card save on gas and rewards in the store. Clean and efficient employees and facilities. We definitely will see maverick often. Had the most disappointing visit to the jester maverick. I use there f'real milkshake machine all the time and last few visits It was made perfectly on the less thick setting. Went back did my usual less thick shake and it came out like milk while the other sides shake I had made was perfect. She asked if I still wanted it and I said i would prefer to make a new one. She then said she would have to contact someone to make sure after just saying "so you want both still" m? Yes I want two but no i dont want the ALL milk shake. She then got on the phone rang a few times then hung up said well as a precaution I'm going to charge you for both!!! What? A precaution how about posting a sign since she admitted it had happened to a FEW other people already. So let's Charge loyal customers for the faulty equipment makes sense. I was just in this store and tried to buy two snickers bars because the sign out front said "buy one get one on snickers". The sign was also posted in the candy section. When I got to the checkout the clerk said the sale ended yesterday. I told him he has to honor that price because it still advertised it. He refused to do it and walked over and ripped the tags off the rack. So I put the candy back and left the store and will never return there again. The owners or managers need to train their employees that if a price is advertised they need to honor it anyways. read more

I've been purchasing gas at this station since 2011. Unfortunately, after today I will not be going back. I stopped to fill up after work and proceeded to run my debit card through the pump. Much to my chagrin (and for no financial reason whatsoever) my transaction was not authorized. Mind you, this is not the first time this has happened at this station. Frustrated, I drove to Chevron and purchased gas on my debit card without any problem. I'd rather pay more money than deal with Maverik any more. read more
