I am seeing this brand open up everywhere in Reno, so I finally took the time to check it out. Quality/Quantity - Gas, fresh food (convenience store level), hot & cold food, fast food, drinks, snacks, etc. Atmosphere - Most locations are above average sizes. Clean spacious locations. Small seating area. Good selection of drinks, see pictures. Cool decor. Modern bathroom, see picture. Plenty of parking. Open 24 hours. Service - Loyalty program to save $$, see website. Promotions - Weekly, promotional, grand openings, etc. Price - Convenience store prices. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1928 with your 380+ locations and staying independent.

The store was clean, bathrooms were clean, the employees were friendly, and the food I got was delicious! Just thought I'd give them a shout out! 5 star gas station!

I'm not sure if it was just today, but we came in right at 10 o'clock to get some breakfast tacos from their bonfire grill. The lady said it was too late so we ordered some Carnitas tacos. The lady also told us that she didn't have any pork. So we finally end up getting some Kearny Asada tacos. When we got them out to the car open them up, they were just a pitiful amount of beef in the taco. Over the years we've had these tacos so many times, and this is the first time we felt we were shorted. After they changed the type of coffee they have here from fresh brewed to a pushbutton machine that grinds the beans while you wait, we come here less and less. I will try the tacos one more time and if it's a small amount of meat, then we probably won't be stopping here anymore as the gas prices are usually more than other places, the coffee is not good anymore, and they short you on the meat.

Gas prices are high, but it's conveniently located. Store is great - has all the treats that my grandkids and I love! And .. they have the milkshake machine!! Entire set up is - the gas pumps, the store and restrooms. No complaints.

Yas, I gave a gas station five stars!! Why you ask?! Unfortunately and fortunately 100% of my travel is via car. At this point in my life a gurl really appreciates a clean bathroom!!! Their wash station is something from sci-fi movie. Touchless hand soap, water and hand dryer. For a germaphobe like myself this is a dream come true. Onto the selection for drank and food. They don't skip on a huge selection on cold and hot drinks. I've a fan of the Chi Tea which I add a black tea bag to the mix. Yes, it's a gas station and the food offering are not on the healthy side. But who doesn't like a Bonfire roll with restaurant style green salsa once and a while!?!? This location had seating inside and outside. Seriously you must check out this new gas station. Silly I know but once you see it you will understand!!

This overcooked briquette isn't sausage, it's burned egg white! Literally, it's like it was deep fried...yuk

This is one of Reno's newest Maveriks, and probably one of the nicest ones in the area. So, let me preface this my saying, I ADORE Maverik's yummy food, convenience, and great gas prices too. Most of the employees at this location are awesome, too! They're fun and friendly, albeit a bit feisty, too! The trouble I have at this particular location is it seems like its always A MESS! Several times I've stopped by for coffee since my kids' school is in the area, and the coffee bar is DISGUSTING! It could be that it's proximity to the high school is to blame, but then the employees should be aware of their wake of destruction and clean up after the morning & lunch rushes. One of the last times I was in, I overheard an employee gossiping to another 2 employees about what the past shift's employees didn't clean...also a no-no in the presence of customers, IMHO. The food is sometimes hit or miss, check out my burned breakfast bowl pics. Regardless of who did or didn't clean, the place needs some attention. It would be a shame to let messy teenagers scare off other customers. It's a nice store, just clean it up.

This is a brand new station, gas is currently $.20 gallon cheaper then rest of area

Each dish is from a different country, and I think they have a few specials that are more traditional plates. I love west African and Caribbean food, and Reno is severely lacking in both of these options, so it was very welcome to see some options from these locations. I got a rice bowl with Senegalese Mafffe. The food came out fast, and was very good, just the right amount of spice, and killer flavors. The pricing is very fair ($12 for a high quality dish). The portions were a little small, but that's probably a good thing. My biggest complaint is that it has scratched an itch I forgot I had, and now I want a more full fleged West African food experience.

The real dealbreaker, however, was the customer service. When ordering, we asked to add onions to the wraps. We were told, "the servings are already weighed out and prepped so we can't add onion." Fair enough. We then asked, "Can we just get a side of onions?" The two staff members simply stared at us and replied, "No, we can't do that because then we'll have to cut the onion." Even after offering to pay for the side of onions, they flat-out refused, simply because they didn't want to prep them. I would understand if they said they didn't have onions but that was never expressed by staff. I always like trying new places, but I will not be coming back here.

There are a couple places to sit indoors and outdoors, we opted to sit outside. Our cashier, Alex was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. I opted for a bacon cheeseburger protein style and regular size of tater tots. The bacon cheeseburger was delicious and the tater tots tasted fresh and were crunchy. The owner of Ruby Shake Shop routinely parks his Audi in the limited public street parking spaces along South Virginia Street directly in front of Raising Cane's, Ike's Love & Sandwiches, and the surrounding businesses. Anyone familiar with this area knows parking can already be difficult, especially during peak hours when people are trying to grab lunch, pick up an order, or make a quick stop. What makes this particularly frustrating is that these spaces appear to be occupied for extended periods of time, often throughout the day, by someone who owns and operates a nearby business. Public street parking in a busy commercial corridor is a shared resource intended to serve customers and visitors, not to function as a personal parking space for a single business owner. This review is not a reflection of the products or service at Ruby Shake Shop. It is simply feedback regarding what appears to be an extremely inconsiderate use of limited public parking in an area where parking availability already impacts customers and neighboring businesses.

The service was friendly and their timing was accurate (it was just about 10 minutes for 2 taco plates that each included 3 tacos each with rice and beans). Price was reasonable too. It was $15 for the taco plate (3 tacos, rice, beans) and that included a can of soda. Beans were very soft and certainly made with delicious lard. Rice was soft and fluffy and light in flavor (but in a good way-- it balanced the plate really well). Red salsa was like a mild/medium and was more hot than the green salsa (the green salsa had a mild heat). We tried the avocado salsa too; I could see that being amazing on a quesadilla. The avocado salsa also has some mild heat to it. The taco truck itself is fine but the area doesn't have the best ambiance (we saw a number of people out on foot at night in the nearby parking lots looking like they were possibly on drugs-- and this was when it was under 30 degrees out with some residual snow and ice on the ground from the recent storm). Nevertheless, the "ambiance" won't deter us from returning again-- and I must say as someone who previously lived in So Cal THESE were the kind of carne asada tacos my taste buds have been searching for in Reno.

Who doesn't love In-N-Out Burger?…read more I remember anytime we drove to California, we had to stop in Auburn, no matter how long the line was just to get our burger fix. It was a must every single time. Now look at us, we've got three locations in Reno, one on the way, and even one in Sparks. Back then, we paid about $7.95 for two full meals. Now it's closer to $16--and we're sharing fries and a drink That said, the quality is still fantastic for fast food, and honestly, the price is still pretty reasonable. The staff really know what they're doing too. They've got a system to keep things moving, but let's be real, it's still usually a 20-30 minute wait in the drive-thru when it's busy. I always wonder... would it be faster to go inside? Honestly, I don't think so! Whether you're inside or outside, it's worth the wait the moment you take that first bite of a freshly made burger or those hand-cut fries. And don't forget the milkshakes-lthey're so good!
