I had an extremely unpleasant experience at this Petro just because asked where is the location of the shower room . The old lady working at the counter clearly lacks even the most basic education and upbringing. She was incredibly rude, had zero manners, yelled at customers for no reason, and acted like she was utterly annoyed to even be there. I seriously doubt whether the staff here have received any proper training at all. This woman behaved like someone who has never been taught basic courtesy or respect in her entire life. Her attitude was absolutely disgusting and completely ruined my visit. Management really needs to take action against employees like this--terrible, terrible service! But the young guy works here he lead me to the right place , he was a such nice person ! read more

If you need to schedule a shower it has to be on the kiosk which I learned for the first time. As soon as I walked into the shower my first thought was this is small. I loved how the towel rack made it almost feel like home. The shower door did not want to close so I was a little annoyed by that and the water got hot. It was appreciated since it was freezing outside. I've never been in a shower where it had a blow dryer which I thought someone really valued their customers needs. The shower was inexpensive and I definitely would recommend if you ever need to make a stop. read more

I came into the Petro truck stop in Sparks about a 2 weeks ago with a flat tire on a trailer, Driving a 1 ton truck pulling a 12K flatbed trailer with a Snocat worth about $200K on it. Went back to the service center to see if I could get some assistance. The counter guy said they didn't have the tools to help since it wasn't a semi trailer. I asked if they had a breaker bar or a piece of pipe as the lug nuts were pretty tight. The counter guy told me they had a metal bin out back and I was welcome to go look for my self to see if there was something I could use. As I walked up another staff member approached me in a very hostile manor. I explained I had been given permission to look through the bin and I was told if I didn't leave He was going to BEAT MY A$$. So if your a paying customer and or in need of help all your going to get here is Threats of Violence against you and ran off. I left several messages for the manager and NO call back, so its very obvious these people don't care how they treat there patrons even going as far as threats of bodily harm! read more

We drive truck and on 2/14/23 @5:15pm we stopped in to get fuel. When we went back in to get the receipt they asked for the truck number but since it was a fleet card we never gave anyone the truck number. I tried to explain to the guy behind the counter that it was a fleet card and no one asked for the truck number and told him the company name. He replied with your an ass hole and he doesn't have the receipt. After showing him the card he printed the receipt and again called me an ass bole That's why I will only do business at pilot for now on. This is a horrible place to stop at and it's very dirty. read more

On a recent visit to the Alamo, the casino at the Petro truck stop, I experienced a terrible situation. I have frequently visited the casino over the years. Great place, friendly staff, all of them. I got there and had to do a couple things on my computer, so I was sitting in the parking lot with my little dog before I went in. 2 people from Petro pulled up in a golf cart, and told me to go inside or leave. I told them I was taking care of few things in n my computer, then I was going in. The big black dude said, ' go in now or leave'! The black lady just n the cart, who I found out later was a manager there, just sat n let everything happen. I again said I'm going in, just need to do a few things first. I had my players card in my front pocket. The man then yelled at me n said ' to m not arguing with you. Get out and go in or get out of here!' He closed the distance between himself and my car to about 12 inches. My dog was going nuts, because he heard the tone the man was using. I felt very threatend. I had to leave because I was live on my computer at the time. Both of these people should be fired! I told my story inside the casino, and they were apalled. Everyone in there knows my name, and several employees said they've had numerous complaints about these two. I love the casino, it's hard to imagine the Petro has such little regard for paying customers. read more

Customer service was awesome. Buffet is at the top of the list for what Petro has to offer. Bathroom clean and stocked. Plenty of parking for a skilled driver others need to get there earlier. Fuel islands clean and easy access to the scale. Buffet and store prices were the same as any other Petro. Worth the stop. read more

So...I am not a trucker, nor am I a lot lizard. From my vantage point I don't have much use for a truck stop other than to occasionally get gas. This one just happens to be a block away from my office. In any event, today I ventured inside for an insiders view of the Alamo. Things I learned today include the following: There are truckers of all walks of life here. There are hookers working the lot. Conveniently, there is a motel attached to the business. Did I mention drinking, gambling and smoking? Romantic dark lighting abounds the inside. They can wash your rig and you can park your rig right here in one of 400 well lit parking spaces. While you get your truck washed, how about a shower? They claim to be "hospital clean". I don't care to know or see the showers unless my water heater goes out and its the last shower in Reno. You can wine and dine at the restaurant. Do you need to get your hair did or your ladyfriend's hair did, they got a salon! Not much of a gift shop to buy something Purdy. Might need to go elsewhere. Got a CB or need a CB to talk to your good buddy, they got a CB shop. How about a doctor? You may need one. They got you covered. You can even get a physical. Tempting isn't it? They even have a chiropractor here! I guess if the need is there, they got you covered. Based on all of the amenities I give this place a solid 2 stars because they have a bunch to offer and cater to a certain clientele. I just don't care for the atmosphere and doesn't do much for me. Be sure to ask to see the basement in the Alamo! I'm sure it will be the most exciting part of the tour. read more

Be careful when going to the TA Truck Service Center in Sparks, NV. I got scammed out of 4 hours in Labor at $117.99/hr. On 7/13/22 My truck broke down and was towed there to the service center. My fan was seized. Within about 30 minutes they called me told me that I needed a new fan, fan clutch, and fan hub. The guy up front told me they had to order the parts and it would be about 4 hours for labor. I thought that was a little high because those are all right on top of the motor and very easy to access. I called my local international dealer and they said it should be about 2 hours labor. I mentioned that to the clerk and he said your right be we throw in some extra time for the quote just in case it takes longer. The following day on the 7-14, he called me around 12:30pm and said the parts were on the way and should be done soon. I came down to the service center at 2:15pm, went right to the bay where my truck was to see if it was done. It wasn't even started. No parts had been removed. I went in the office and spoke to the manager to ask when were they going to start my truck repairs. He said right now but your truck won't be done for at least another 5 hrs because the tech has to torch off the fan assembly and it's a lot more work than what they originally quoted. That sounded strange because it all seemed to be straight forward. I had nowhere to go so I decided to watch the tech work on my. He started at 2:35pm, I saw him torch off the part which took him less than 10 minutes. I walked over to the casino then came back to ask him approx. how long till he was done. He told me I finished about 5 minutes ago. This was at 3:30pm. So less than 1 hour. I go to the counter to pay and I asked the cashier how much labor was I charged for and he told me 6 hours. He then calls over a manger after avoiding me for 30 minutes he told me that the job actually took that long. He also said that it took almost 3 hours to torch the part off. I then told him no I didn't I watched the whole time. After I told him that part took less than 10 minutes, he completely changed his story. Now the other 5 hours were spent before I got there. I then told him when I got there at 2:15 I saw the truck and nothing was removed at all. Then he said I can take off 1 hr of labor, he said that should be fair right? I go I watched the tech do the entire job in 55 minutes. Even if it took 1 hour to diagnose the obvious problem, and 1 hour to do the work. I paid $471.96 more for labor for no reason. I honestly feel like multiple members of management were in on the scam because when I first came back the other manager told me I might want to leave because my truck won't be ready for at least 5 hrs. They had no idea that I was going to stay and watch. read more

Nice truck stop. Especially before the COVID. I can only hope that it gets back to what it was before. Good food. I think the buffet is gone for now,but the restaurant is open again!! Last time I was there they were doing Veterans appreciation day. Got a free meal to go. Casino inside is nice and they are friendly with the drinks and you don't have to spend a lot to get free beers. Girls are nice and very professional. I think the tables are open with a maximum of 3 players. Went there with the Wifey and actually won about $600. Probably one of my favorite stops out there. Especially on a 34 restart. read more

This is one of my favorite Petros out there! Love the Chiropractor upstairs! We come here for our DOT physicals! Honestly, the showers are cramped and the place is smoky as all gitout, but, the people are nice, the food is above average, and I just love Reno! Not the worst wash I've had but not the best. I'm getting tired of places only having employees that half as wash. One side was clean and the other side still has bug residue. I love this truck stop! I've gotten my medical card from here, seen the chiropractor, fueled, eaten, gambled and showered, not all in that order, lol! The staff has always been friendly, food has never been bad (quite good actually) seems like they like their jobs here! Great place, great people.!!! read more

Best truckstop I been to, shower heads mounted a little low, seen much worse commodities at other stops

A lot of parking and not very busy most of the time. Fuel island was ok, but there was usually a broken pump, and some of the card readers do not work when you swipe your rewards card. Small casino inside and a bar. Buffet with food to go and you pay by the weight of the food you take. It's a bit pricy but normal for a truck stop. The showers were great and pretty clean and never a wait. Free air by the tire shop on the side. About a 10 minute walk to fast food places down the road, but nothing really much else around there. This place is way better than the T/A down the road though. read more

A disgrace to the Petro name. Petros are usually some of the nicest travel centers, right up there with Flying J, and Ambest, I don't know why this one is so screwed up. The Petro in Vegas is SO much nicer. The only nice thing about this stop is the gigantic truck parking lot. The showers here are the smallest I've ever seen, and not well maintained. Couldn't get anything hot to eat either because the Iron Skillet reeked so bad of cigarette smoke thanks to the adjacent casino. The C-store is pathetic, they had no hot food out at all. Yes it was late (10pm-ish), but every other C-store I've ever been to keeps the hot food case stocked 24 hrs a day. Epic Fail. Will avoid this Petro in the future. Try to make it to Fernley, if you can, the string of truck stops there is a little nicer. read more

Second time in a row I've stopped here and had issues. First time all the pumps were down and not one employee would let anyone lining up at the pumps know Second fail, had some time and wanted a cold beer in the lounge and the waitress walked by us no less than ten times,handed out popcorn to people all around us then hung out at the bar station bullshitting with the bar tender and people sitting at the bar while we sat right in front of them with no drinks or any offer for any kind of service so after trying to get her attention and getting a bit loud we up and left. read more

This is one of the worst Petros I've been to. The staff members are rude and uninformed. The chiropractor has to go home early( lost a customer buddy). The lady at the service desk is a total bitch. great people in the restaurant. the waitresses are very funny and always put you in a good mood. especially with the singing and smiles they do. thats why the five stars. as for the store thats a different story. they have a whole family working there and they are some of the rudest people ive ever met. dont ask a question because they get loud and mouthy with you. read more

The shop at this location is th slowest on the planet. I waited 5 hours for tires and never got them done. There were 2 trucks in front of me, one of which was in the bay for a tire change. It was three before I arrived and was still in there when I left 5 hours later. don't waste your time going here for any work. read more
