Once a 5 star operation, this older neighborhood market is clean, the atmosphere is nice and pleasant. The lay out of the store is easy to maneuver and straight forward. The staff members are nice and usually over the top friendly. The food is top quality. As a 30+ year customer, I miss the convenience of the now gone in store pharmacy. Prices are moderate plus making it understandable why customers are heading to the nearby major brand combination market/pharmacy/department store to save money and take advantage of the one stop all in one convenience. read more

Glad to find them open until 10pm on NYE. Found black eyed peas and ham for good luck! Picked up a quick salami and cheese tray that included crackers for the drive home and Arizona sweet tea. As all locations are, this one was clean and well stocked. I self checked, but the machine took my rewards barcode and scanning went smooth. Raneys is great! read more

This store has a lot of fun items that I cannot find at the local grocery stores near my neighborhood. I just happen to be visiting the area and stopped in to buy a few necessities. Everything in the produce area and bakery and meat department are so beautifully arranged. I was amazed to see things as exotic as starfruit, dragon, fruit, And a very wide variety of gourds. Most of all of the shelves were stocked well and neatly. I noticed that all the products in the dairy were especially faced properly. It was easy to navigate the store and very nice to be able to shop any warm, clean, and inviting store. The cashier that helped me was not the warmest, but she wasn't terrible either. I was thrilled to have a Raley's so close. However, this store is the worst. The produce is often so sad looking I have no idea why it isn't removed. Very little organic, and it's pitiful looking. Young people literally run around in the store and almost knock people over; I have never seen the security guard step in, but he used to follow me around the store as if I was suspicious. The manager is useless. Some of the clerks have a real attitude, while a few are quite nice. I have also pointed out multiple safety issues over the past couple of years, but nothing changes. I have tripped over the mats on the floor that curl up. Their landscaping rocks spill down onto the public sidewalk in 7th Street, putting the public at risk. The manager indicated he would put in a REQUEST to corporate to see if he could get it cleared. This was a huge potential liability to public safety and he planned to ask for permission to clear it! Geez. Even tho I can easily walk here, I usually drive to other stores, both for safety issues and the produce quality. The manager claims that the store is arranged so that two carts can easily pass in all aisles. Nope. There are extra displays sticking out making pushing a cart similar to an obstacle course. My arm was bleeding from a temporary display with a jagged edge that was blocking items on the shelf behind it. They didn't care. I personally really like Raleys and often stop at their other stores in other parts of Reno; every other store beats this one! I hope the manager is removed and someone can turn the place around. It was remodeled, but it's been junked up since then. Sad. This store needs an effective leader. read more

Woah. New Raley's is fancy. They've got a cookie buffet, for your dog! I don't know what is in any of those cookies but I do know they're fancy looking. New Raley's has a sushi bar?! New Raley's might be more expensive but I can't tell because I'm blinded by the glistening produce? New Raley's has it all, labneh, dragon fruit, franzia, and what appear to be a whole new section dedicated to fresh made snackies. New Raley's does not have the comforting 70s vibe of old Raley's and is certainly not cheap. But at least new Raley's aesthetic now matches old Raley's prices. I like new Raley's new self check out situation. I accidentally spilled water all over myself and the ground in the self check out line and the very nice young checkout watcher cleaned up my spill. I was up in the NW Reno Keystone area, and I heard this Raley's had just reopened after like 6 mo of remodeling. My Raley's in Carson sure could use a remodel! The store was really hoppin' and parking was tight in the lot. The store looks like a brand new shiney store with nce organized asiles. What I really wanted to see was the meat and deli department as well as the hot food section. Looking at the meats, yes, they do offer prime grade beef here, but wow, those prices you're sure gonna pay. It's like Whole Food prices. $28 per lb for Prime Grade Rib Eye and they didn't really look that prime with the marbling they had. I guess it's just prices these days! The salmon was a little more reasonable at less than $10/ lb. THe ready made foods were Chinese offerings, but the prices were sit down restaurant prices for entrees of like sweet and sour pork and general's chicken, $12 an order, same as in Carson. One thing that struck me as odd, was the this location is lacking a Pharmacy! I love my Raley's pharmacy in Carson, but this brand new store has none! It's like a Costco without a gas station! (there are a few). Well, at least the locals around here have their grocery store back! read more

I could not love this Raley's location enough. Excellent customer service. Fresh fruit and veggies. Deli and Bakery goods are so delicious. They have the BEST strawberry and white chocolate cakes. Arrived a few minutes after they opened. Went to the deli counter first to get some cold cuts. Waited a few minutes and no one came to help. I gave up on that part of my shopping list. I finished shopping and went to check out. No check stands were open except self-check out which had two young women there standing around chatting with each other. You would think they would have one check stand open. I went to a check stand and waited for someone to come help me. After a couple minutes the women came over. One asked me, "If I needed help checking out?" Ha. Yes. By their attitudes, It was so obvious that they viewed me as an interruption to their "work" as opposed to the reason for it. Clearly, they would rather be back at self checkout doing nothing but chatting. The bagger literally threw my bags in the cart, I guess to express her displeasure with having to lift a finger. When she did so, I looked at her and she gave me a dirty look. Its a shame that Raleys spent a pile of money renovating this store, but then provides Walmart level of service. I would have rather they skipped the renovation and plowed that money into motivated, caring, hard working employees. read more

Selection was excellent and everything was in-stock and ready to go. I like the new shelving. Did not explore the deli area, but it looks a bit smaller than other Raley's locations. The Keystone Raleys is NOT the best in town. Though they may have remodeled they forgot to spend their money on quality produce and selection of food. I would rather go to the Sparks Raleys because I know they are a 5 star. Drive further for better quality items. The green onions were all broken and browning. The fruit selection was pathetic. Blueberries going bad. I could only eat less than half of the small container because the rest were soft and almost rotten. Tons of apples I don't eat. The leaf lettuce was wilted and brown. They had rotten meat ($3 off) on the shelves. Highly recommend going to Spatks. Don't waste your money at Keystone. Their "free WiFi" didn't work at all. (Dead spots= Entire store) read more

I love shopping at Raley's, I live between two. I went to the one on Keystone the other day and it's so nice since they redid the store. I love how well organized everything is. The girl at the deli was so nice and helpful I'm sorry I didn't get her name. I talked to the young man (I think he's name is Ashly or something) he was very helpful as I was looking for some mushrooms and other stuff. All the produce look fresh, unlike some of the other stores around our area. I've lived in Reno since 1973 and have been going to this Raley's for many years. The remodel is great other than I do not know where the products are like before the remodel. It will take time to learn the new layout. he decor is a great upgrade. The meat and deli section is sooooooooo nice The butcher employees are always so happy and helpful. I'm not a big fan of seld check out. They added several more from before and there are less checkstands. Yes, Raleys is more expensive than the other stores but not having to wait in line makes up that for me. It was really hard shopping when they closed for 6 months. I'm grateful they're back open. Lisa is always so cheery! I will wait in her line everytime! Everyone that works there is. I have been shopping here for years now, and I've never had a problem with the customer service. However the managers might need training on public manners. Never have I ever seen such unprofessionalism today established by a store MANAGER as I noticed, on my way out of check out, him being verbally aggressive to another employee. I've never felt more horrible for another individual as he was struggling to even say a word. There is a time and place for these things and to the Raley's managers: Do better! I suggest you act more professional to your employees if you want to keep them in your understaffed establishment. read more

It's a Raleys, so if you've never been in one, it's basically a high priced grocery store with a good selection of niche and gourmet grocery items. This one has been around since I was a little kid in the 80s at least, back when Skaggs grocery store was across the street. Still pretty much looks the same except the interior. Anyway, usually very good customer service and most of the time I get in and out quick. My only complaints are the beer section being 75% IPAs(there are other varieties out there)and the deli; while it has really good sandwiches and a good array of side dishes, cheeses and meats, the service is hit and miss. read more

Usually don't write about my experiences at grocery stores but I had to share about mine at raleys today. Went to get some salmon filets and was not happy with the slim variety of skinless salmon filets. But Donnie came to the rescue and got me 2 of the best looking filets with skin and took the skin right off. He even offered to season them too. While he was helping me I was also having a great conversation with him and Chris both in the meat and seafood department It absolutely made my day. What a dump now with fancy aisles but crummy produce and the snottiest people working there! I went there at 7:30 tonight. The produce section reeks of the two obviously rotting or oranges in the front. How can you all work there and not SEE and SMELL the rancid produce?! They are GREEN and fuzzy! They have ZERO organic citrus or grapes. After spending a long time reading every label in the front case with 10 varieties of grapes I looked everywhere for help. No one around. I then stopped a girl with a spray bottle trying to avoid eye contact with me if they had any organic grapes. Because, of course, her spraying duties are much more important than smiling at a customer and asking if she could help them. She opened the case and started reading all the labels. She had no idea! I told her I already did that and if she didn't know, was there a produce person she could call who would know for sure yes or no, because I didn't have time to reread all the labels. I pointed to where the organic grapes used to be in a different place. She snotted back to me "you don't have to be rude." *I* am rude for asking if anyone in a grocery store actually knows if they have grapes?? I wasn't rude. I asked you a very simple question, and you were clearly incompetent. Stop wasting my time, admit you have no idea, and get me someone who can help! So after she snotted back to me I asked to talk to the manager. The manager proceeded to tell me no one was working produce and they were short staffed. That is an excuse for the little brat to talk to me like that? And she said she didn't know if there were any organic oranges or grapes either but could go looking if I had time to wait. No, I do not have time for you to go wandering in the back. How does a MANAGER not know the inventory?! And a manager who has to cover a produce shift?! Incomprehensible! No excuses. I used to work grocery and retail and know exactly how "hard" it is. We had to memorize the inventory for our department and the location of every item in the store, by aisle number! If you don't know, fine stop wasting my time and say so. It is not hard to treat customers well. Fire the snotty little snowflake! read more

They go way way out of their way to secure items for me! These days, store associates who care enough about customers to go above and beyond is almost impossible to find. Raleys is one of my favorite "go to" places for groceries because their stores are clean, food is fresh, selections are higher end, variety is impressive and staff are consistently pleasant and professional. This location is no exception--it's awesome. Sometimes I swing by Raleys for a bit of debauchery in the way of getting completely hopped up on the best caffeine option I know of: PEET'S COFFEE. This store has a small Peet's Coffee & Tea, but that doesn't slow me down a bit when I'm on a caffeinated bender. While the counter space is diminutive, there's lots of seating, so you can bring the whole crew to hang out. Best. Coffee. Ever. read more

The staff is over pretty nice but on a number of occasions, I have had to leave the with no purchases because of an overwhelming unpleasant smell coming from the fryer in the deli area. They have what you need and it will be quality. Local, easy to get to if you're in the university area, no sketch, and walking distance if you're not a lazy pile. Pros: quality produce, meats, poultry and seafood. Nice grab and go deli section, fresh breads. Carry gluten free, high end items (such as fairlife milk, Silvia's, evol, etc), good selection of wines, spirits and beer (although they axed a lot of non hoppy beer), not afraid to walk there at night (minus oblivious Reno drivers), offer student discount, rewards, some raleys dailies deals (can't beat their 3 for 5 avocados, ever) Meh: some items come at a noticeable markup vs there much sketcher neighbor savemart. We usually hit it before heading back to Truckee while visiting Reno or grab a cup of Joe while getting onto freeway. It's in a cute neighborhood and people are really friendly. Good enough for a grocery store. The crappy thing is that everything is so expensive compared to Texas. They charge you .30 for bottles, plastics, whatever-the-hell they want to.
