I dislike giving 1-star reviews, and unfortunately this one is well deserved. Hopefully, management reads this and wants more details, because this has not been the welcoming experience I have had at other locations. To sum it up - horrible communication skills and lack of understanding. Just before 3pm on 01/23/2026, I called to speak with someone about partnering with an organization to host a community event. At other Savemart locations it, the store managers have been the point of contact, and I have had positive experiences. They put me on hold to speak with their manager, and when they came back on line, they literally shouted "KEYSTONE ONLY" and hung up the phone before I could respond. I thought I was accidentally disconnected so I called right back. The same person answered... she gave no hello - there was no "Thanks for calling Savemart". She said "You're the one with the _______?" I corrected her and said, "No, that is something entirely different," and took 10 seconds to explained what it was again. She did not hear what I said, cut me off, and said "my manager said Keystone only!" Again, she didn't wait for me to get off the phone and hung up the phone on her last breath. I'm never going back. There is no deal here even with clipped coupons or rewards. The veggies are shriveled up and they're iut of everything. Nothing is restocked as far as bags even in the produce section. Every vegetable I needed was dead. The checkout employees are always nice, and at least the store is clean, but honestly don't waste your money. I spent $100 on one measly bag of groceries with wilted and shriveled food I'm going to have to turn into a stew. Zero protein because the protein was so minimal and expensive. Every time I decide to go to Save Mart, I look at the app and look what sales they have going on. I'm always disappointed as the sales seem to be just fake. Buy one get one free for hamburger, and hamburger is nine dollars a pound. Everyone knows you can't double the price of something and say buy one get one free. Also, when they have a sale for five dollar meat, the ad always says up to a certain weight. But searching through all of the sale items you can never find the maximum weight. For example, top sirloin five dollars up to 12 ounces. But all of the packages are only 8 ounce. that's $10 a pound for top sirloin when you can get it much cheaper other places. Every once in a while, you can find a real sale here, but mostly their on sale items are just bait and switch. Also trying to find help, it's difficult to get an employee to help you. I don't know, just always disappointed with Save Mart. I guess I'll keep trying every once in a while. read more

Used to shop at Safeway across McCarran because it has a nearby, cut-rate gas station, and the reliable Taiwan Restaurant and Baskin-Robbins dessert emporium in the Ridgeview Plaza south of Mae Anne Avenue. However, on the other side of McCarran, the Canyon Center plaza has Dollar Tree, Silver Chopsticks, a rare-for-Reno Chase Bank branch, and a Save Mart, among other provocative businesses, like, for instance, Flowing Tide Pub #7. Safeway gave me a harsh vibe during the Covid daze, especially from cashiers and front staff, so Save Mart got the nod. It's a well-maintained market, good produce and meat selection, sporadic surprise discounts on eggs, great bargains on weekly-ad items, and personable, mellow staff. Conversely, the service deli strikes me as small and lackluster. Plotted between 7th Street and Mae Anne on the northbound side of the west McCarran loop, and a hop-skip-jump from the USPS Washington station and I-80, this market screams, "LOCATION X3!" read more

Stopped here a couple of times during my recent trip to Reno to pick up some quick foods and it was always clean, well organized, never too busy, and service was always super friendly. I didn't notice the prices being too outrageous or anything either. I wouldn't hesitate to come back! read more

Poor Quality, understaffed, not my favorite grocery store. I just feel like it is super low end.

Got married in Reno at the Lavender Ridge and we needed a last minute cake and every bakery wasn't able to fulfill our order. I am so glad we stopped here because the cake was beautiful! I can't believe they were able to do a cake like this in less than 24 hrs, I'm not sure the name of the person who did the cake but GREAT WORK, and THANK YOU! I asked for all white and they added a little touch of gray leaves which I loved, it was a beautiful, delicious cake! read more

After a busy day, and frantic shopping I then donated to a group outside the store by using my phone to pay. I guess I left it in the cart afterward in the parking lot on 12/6/22. A few hours later when I realized it was missing, I Called it and it was answered by an employee of the store and to my great relief, it had been found by the pm manager. Do not shop here if the female cashiers are not on duty. The males are rude with smart mouths and do not know anything.

Just had a terrible experience at this store. I had exactly 18 items in my cart. I wanted to go through self checkout because I had heavy cases of beer and waters in my cart for a party and didn't want to have to lift them up on the conveyor belt and then lift them again into my cart (I have a bum elbow). In self checkout I could have used the price gun so that i didn't have to lift them. I was chased out of self checkout by a rude employee that told me I had too many items. And btw, there was not another single person in line for self checkout. So I went over to the regular checkout line, and had to wait, of course. I struggled all the heavy items up onto the conveyor belt. The clerk did not greet me, didn't even look at me. He was an older man. They have NO bagging person, so you have to lift all the items back into your cart yourself. He didn't say anything to me again, no "have a nice day", nothing! So what is the purpose of a regular checkout line??? He did nothing I couldn't have done myself, was rude and made me wait longer. Too add to that, the prices are ridiculous! $9.99 for a tiny pack of raspberries!! I only went there to save myself time because it's close to us...never again. Out of all the Savemarts I have ever visited, this is one of the better ones. They have a good selection of items, everything is easy to find, and extremely well priced. They're always offering sales, discounts, and deals. Their store brand isn't too bad either. There's always a bunch of staff around to help you find what you're looking for and they are happy to help. They have amazing sales on meats, and the quality is very good, as opposed to some other Savemarts I have been to. The store is a little empty looking and could use an update but it is always clean. Sometimes it's a little hard to find a cart, but overall this is a good place to do your normal grocery shopping or just grab a few quick things. read more

I do believe this is my favorite Save Mart in Reno. I have been shopping here for years now and the staff is just the greatest bunch of people, I guess it also helps that by now they recognize me on site and always say hello and wave. The store itself is always clean. They have a nice selection of produce and carry what I can only say is at times a surprising array of other items;Bon one such trip I was surprised when I was able to obtain two pump taps for a keg. The butcher offers a good selection of seafood, bacon in bulk, and some pretty nice slices of steaks and pork chops. Finally, and hence the real reason for the review, they have really stepped up their beer game. Nice selection of Rogue, Stone, Firestone, Mirror Pond, plenty of other varieties (and they all make me happy or facilitate the degradation of my liver and the expansion of my waste line). Cheers! This pharmacy normally takes very good care of their clients; however, there is one male pharmacist that doesn't think it's important to treat all customers the same. His demeanor is very crass and short, doesn't seem to have any empathy for clients, and is completely unfriendly. Whereas, Terry, is extremely friendly and forthcoming with information. She always spends enough time with each customer to make sure they fully understand the scripts they are being provided. Apparently, there is a shortage of employees, which means corporate needs to take note as this has been going on for quite some time. Corporate should also take note of the lack of customer service and the fact that an employee would say to a customer, "I'm not going to do that today. I'm alone, and I'm just not going to fill your script. You can get it tomorrow". To which I replied, "what time do you think it will be ready?" His reply, "I don't know. Tomorrow". Terry is phenomenal and very forthcoming with her responses. The male pharmacist you have needs to go to a pharmacy where he doesn't have to deal with customers. This supermarket is nice because the parking is easy the Isles are large the supermarket itself is very clean and in good standing. They seem to keep the inventory in the same place so you generally no where you're going and what you're looking for and where to go and how did navigate the store pretty easily which makes it the whole buying experience is much nicer since I always know where I'm going and I can find things easily. The location is also easy right on McCarran at the beginning of mayanne - the workers here are helpful and they have a self checkout stand but it's not always working. I wish they carried Blue Bunny Ice Cream but I go with the Baskin-Robbins Rocky Road flavor since that seems to be the best type of ice cream manufacturer that they carry right now. read more

Spent the weekend in Reno for the street vibrations and went to save mart multiple times. Great store! I work at save mart in another city so it was nice to see how another store was run. Friendly checkers, very helpful with local restaurants and spots to visit. read more

What's better than a grocery store where just about "everybody knows your name" and the employees do everything they can to make shopping there a pleasant experience? High marks go to the checkers and clerks who always smile and say hello when I enter. They may not ALL remember my name, but they recognize me as a regular and that suits me very well. I'm acting as a surrogate uncle to two young sisters who have no connection with their (two different) fathers and their mother is struggling with dependency issues. When I've taken them with me to this Save Mart, the clerks have fallen over themselves to say how great they both are. They're given cookies at the Bakery section, offered samples of about anything at the Deli counter and clerks will buy them small treats (with my permission, of course). I always tell the girls good behavior is what earns them the special treatment. These are basically great kids in need of positive attention and they get it here. Whenever I arrive without them, I'm asked: "Where are those cute little girls? We miss them!" I'm sure the employees get nothing extra for being friendly and remembering the girls, but it's that very thing that makes me feel like I'm appreciated and keeps me coming back. read more

Savemart grocery center is usually known for fast, convenient, and efficient service with kind people to encounter you're purchasing's with. However, if you are ever on the northwestern side of Reno DO NOT go to the Savemart on 10500 N. McCarran unless it is after 9:00 PM. I have been a server/bartender for about six years now and I know how to treat customers. If you want to be treated like a normal human being I would definitely NOT recommend visiting this specific Savemart until later in the day. I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect and dishonorable judgment in my entire life! The elderly women who work here are only good at giving dirty looks to customers! I love the SaveMart on South McCarran. I usually shop at a different grocer. Tried the one on West McCarran twice this week. Although the store is nice, the employees need an attitude adjustment. Instead of being happy to have a job on both occasions they complained to me that their job was too hard and they needed help. Really? One even said she was going to quit. I told her she probably should. The store was not crazy busy either time. The culture needs to change. I won't be back. This grocerie store is the only store thst carries the whole line of "seventh generation" products. Biodegradable and non toxic and never tested on animals. Besides these products i dont really go in there for anything else. The staff is friendly and you never have to wait in a line; but for some reason i dont buy my food there. I stopped in to get ingredients for homemade sweet and sour chicken. The employees there are friendly and knowledgable in their departments. I really like the selection in the produce department. The only thing is my six items were bagged in four bags. I think that more items could have gone in my bags. I didn't buy anything that risks cross contamination. Shout out to Kathy in the bakery! I had ordered a going away cake for a fellow employee from a grocery store closer to my office. Picked up the cake today and it was AWFUL!! Just writing....no decorations at all. I could have done that myself :(( Should have left but was short on time. Grabbed the mess and took it to Kathy. Begged forgiveness for not ordering there (order ALL of my cakes there) and asked of she could fix it for me. No problem she said, just give me a few minutes. WOW!! In 5 minutes she turned it into a beautiful cake that I was happy to show. Learned my lesson today.....Only Savemart for my orders from now on!! read more
