I also utilize them for my prescriptions and the pharmacy staff is always friendly, helpful, and communicates well when I have a prescription that is on order or out of stock. You get what you pay for what you pay for with groceries, meat and every other consumer product in life and, yes, Safeway is expensive for what they offer, but it is of good quality and decent value. I always recommend Safeway for their groceries, pharmacy and positive customer experiences.

I was searching for a whole chicken to put in the smoker when I ran across an ad from Safeway. Five dollar Cornish game hens (regularly seven dollars) if you purchase four of them. I decided to go for the deal, and when I open the app and they had a $30 off first time order for either delivery or pick up. Now I like to save money, just had to purchase $75 after all of the discounts. So I went through the app and ordered a bunch of stuff. New York steaks were on sale, Cornish game hints, bought a few different types of vegetables. The total was $160. But with the coupons and the $30 off, I ended up spending $48. It's nice to have them pick up the stuff, but the shoppers job is not to help you get the best items. My wife had to replace the salary and the carrots and the steaks. It seems like the shoppers job is too get rid of stuff before it expires and they have no issue giving you bruised or damaged fruits and vegetables. So even though the price was great , the steaks were completely covered with fat and gristle. The vegetables were on their last leg. I do not recommend this service.

This is the best Grocery Outlet that we have in the Reno/ Sparks area…read more Produce: I'm starting with the not so great here - don't buy produce at Grocery Outlet as a general rule of thumb. Sure if you need something for tonight or tomorrow's dinner - go ahead. It's not bad produce, it's just got a little shorter lifespan on a lot of it. If you are buying your groceries for the week go to Winco, you'll save some money and your veg will last a bit longer. Toiletries: I frequently buy my shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash, toothpaste etc here. I'm not going to find the same brand/ flavor every time but I don't care. They carry good brands and I've been very happy with these purchases. Sauce: The sauce isle is one of my favorites. They have a great selection here of all kinds of sauces, marinades, dips, and dressings. Pets: I frequently buy my kitty litter, kitty snacks, and kitty dry food here. Laundry: Also my go to place for laundry needs. Frozen: Great selection. Thank you for always having my beyond burgers and big bags of frozen shrimp. Shout out to the odd selection of ice creams. Snacks: Sometimes awesome deals sometimes just ok. Always a selection of unique things to try. I appreciate the selection of nuts especially. Cheese: Don't sleep on their fancy cheese selection. If you are making a charcuterie board and this place isn't your first stop, you're doing it wrong and for too much money. Alcohol: Great selection. Discounts can be found on wine but are infrequently found on beer. Overall with Grocery Outlet you can't go in there expecting to definitely find A, B, and C in the brand and packaging you are used to. Heck it's very likely you'll find A, B, and C it's just not a guarantee and it's also likely that it will be a different flavor or brand. You are guaranteed to find something amazing at a great price that you wouldn't have had the opportunity to try otherwise. Note here: Grocery Outlet has a new store brand that is working hard to make it so that staple foods you expect to be there will be there.

The Northern Nevada stores are a great size to shop with knowledgeable personnel to help. I have become spoiled with the holiday meals that are impressive and reasonable. The Sparks store is well stocked and is maintained to a high standard. Keep up the great work. Loss of a star rating because the App can be tricky with "sale" prices that cause confusion when you go to the store and try to buy the items instead of having it as a will call pick up order. The shelf pricing doesn't reflect the online price. Not this stores fault but a marketing racket that is not driven by actual shoppers or the customer experience.

The steaks often look like "skate ramps"--poorly cut with uneven surfaces and then crammed into the packaging. As someone with meat-cutting experience, the lack of care and consistency really stands out. What really surprised me was the knowledge behind the counter. I asked an employee about a filet, and she seemed to think "filet mignon" was a completely different type of steak. When I explained that filet mignon is the tenderloin steak commonly served in restaurants--often wrapped in bacon, she argued instead of listening. The overall impression I got was that the meat department lacks experienced cutters with a solid understanding of basic beef cuts. If you're particular about how your steaks are cut or expect knowledgeable service from the meat counter, this location may leave you frustrated. Go anywhere else in Reno for a decent steak.

From specialty flours, grains, spices, and dried fruits to candies, nuts, baking ingredients, and snacks, the selection is impressive. Whether you're stocking a pantry, running a small bakery, or simply buying exactly the amount you need, the bulk department offers both variety and affordability that few competitors can match. The store itself was well stocked, clean, and easy to navigate, and the prices consistently remind you why so many shoppers make WinCo their first stop. The only downside? The checkout lines. They moved steadily, but the wait was noticeably longer than I would have liked. Fortunately, the savings and selection made it feel like a worthwhile trade-off.

All of this while providing full-time positions and livable wages with benefits too. Winco proves it! In the 20+ years that I've been a Winco customer, I've always been treated well which is a phenomenal track record that some jerk has ruined. Why Linda, why? She was covering the service desk and I came in to return a defective item. As I approached the desk, she was looking me up and down with a very strange expression. So because of this, I wasn't affable but I definitely wasn't rude. I cut to the chase of why I was there. She treated me VERY badly which I ignored for the most part, stating that in all of the years that I've shopped at Winco I've never been treated so poorly. She responded by saying that I was the problem and invited me to call the corporate office! Then she said aggressively, "I've had three horrible customers in one day!" repeating it a few times. I asked to speak to a manager and she quipped that he was busy and he couldn't get away so I asked someone else to page him for me and she interfered with that page, telling them to cancel it. This is a brand new store and everyone else is amazing which is what I'm used to. I wrote this shortly after the store first opened and haven't had an unpleasant experience since and I shop here weekly. I also have not seen Linda. It's a great store with great employees and low prices. I'll keep buying whatever they have that I need from Winco. This store is my first go to store.
