This review is for the pharmacy. I recently started filling my prescriptions here since I'm already here weekly for my grocery shopping. The Staff here is friendly and helpful. Today I was picking up a prescription and saw they offered vaccines here. I decided to ask Rosa who was helping me with my prescription. I decided to take care of my flu shot and another vaccine today since I was able to on a walk in basis. Process was fairly quick and just one questionnaire! Do call ahead and check times that they take walk-ins. Don't quote me on that, but I recall her saying they don't take walk-ins between 12-1pm or after 7pm. They do have some restrictions when it comes to insurance, so I recommend calling ahead. I was pleased they were able to get me in today. I can cancel my doctor visit now and my insurance saved me $500 today. Woo hoo to savings and great customer service! read more

We found ourselves shopping at Smith's again (this time the Barring Blvd location). First off, mad props to the store for having a clean, functional restroom; that's such a great service to your customers. Thank you. Aside from that, Smith's also offered some freshly barbecued ribs that day for only $13! What a great deal! We also found some Biscoff cookies by the bread isle, and my sister and niece couldn't resist some desserts from their bakery. I lingered a little too long at the international cheese section and was tempted by some butterkase; I really like the vast selection of international cheeses and made a mental note to come back and try some more. We had very minimal interaction with employees but the cashier that rang up our groceries was really nice; overall, it was a positive shopping trip. read more

All the staff here is always helpful. There's a couple of things I've noticed in the background. This Smith's store has very narrow aisles. Noticeably different from Southwest Reno. I know the store has been here for a few decades, but it could use some flooring, just a thought. Nine out of every 10 visits there are ZERO hand carts available when you walk in. I hope corporate can get it together and maybe have an extra 20 or 30 so the store can operate properly. I have seen minimarts and CVS/Walgreens with more Hand carts than this large grocery store! read more

Convenient location, this is a very popular grocery store. I've been able to find everything I want there at a very good price. And the checkers are so friendly and sweet. This place is usually pretty busy but everything is kept up well and very clean. Everyone was telling me that Smith's was too expensive but the deals they have are absolutely spectacular. I just got my card for Smith's and I'm very happy about shopping here. You can get money off on gas reflected upon your spending . There is a Smith gas station right there. read more

Smiths is quite the large grocery store that I've always found to be a little awkwardly organized compared to other stores. The produce area is in the back of the store instead of the front and the dairy is separated into two sections. It was always odd to me. Otherwise the store is fine, most of the prices of items aren't too high and the variety of stock is good. The employees are typically helpful at locating items and answering any questions and the check out is usually good. There are some days that are rough to shop here, but otherwise it's a good shop! read more

Horrendous. Sadly, not an isolated event with my many interactions with this particular pharmacy. In all of my years as a clinician, I have never experienced such an extreme level of unprofessionalism at Smith's Pharmacy. One female clerk in particular is consistently smug and rude. Three of the females for some reason all have an unfriendly, disrespectful and rude demeanor, not only to me, my elderly family members, but to other customers I have seen being treated in the same manner. It makes me very sad that this is what a well-known company finds as acceptable behavior of employees. This pharmacy, long ago did have great employees. Kindness, respect, and a sense of compassion are the fundamentals of working with patients and their families, especially in a healthcare related field. Many of whom you encounter while working in a pharmacy have serious illness or may be terminal. Their families may also be very stressed and grieving, yet they still show you basic common courtesy. Unkindness and apathy do not reflect well on your personal character, or the company that employs you. read more

One of my favorite grocery stores! I come to this location often. The parking lot is easy to navigate. The store is kept clean, laid out well, and staff are always pleasant. Prices are decent, and I can always find what I need. Staff do a great job of keeping the students from the high school pleasant as only so many are allowed in at a time during lunch hour. The flowers in the floral department are always beautiful and bright and a welcome sight when you first walk in. read more

5 star service from Kim the cashier. I ran in to Smiths to get a cherry cake for a Christmas event. I went to self check out. I didn't know how to check out. Kim, who is a cashier, came over and asked me if I had a smiths card. I said no, so she went to get me one, then I realized I had a little smiths card on my keychain...this gave me a discount. Kim was so kind while she showed me how to scan my card, scan my cake and pay with my debit card, all while being really kind to me. I thought she was amazing and I asked if I could compliment her, She said yes and allowed me to take a photo. I asked her what her title was...she said I'm just a cashier. I said I could never do your job and you are so much more than just a cashier. She has been a cashier over 20 years and it shows in her many skills especially customer service. Worse each passing day. I can have as few as four or five items on my shopping list and walk out with ONE item that was available regardless the time of day. I Just left at 1230PM with bananas. My other four items were not on the shelf. More often than not, I need to find my own hand basket as there are NONE at the entrance. I go to the Life Force NV Chiropractic office weekly in the shopping center complex weekly. Smith's is the cornerstone store of the shopping center. I can always get a good deal on meats or other items. I get change for the vending machine where I live and the clerks are always kind and courteous. The Reed High School students can fill up the parking lot on lunch break and after school lets out but they are well mannered and put their back packs in the corner when they go in the store. read more

This is still our favorite Go to shopping spot. If you use their app, you can get some amazing savings. As I've mentioned a few times before I have a huge family and rely on Smith's so much to help me save money to feed my family. Each week, they have enough sales that I can stock up on items for a couple weeks. We have a huge pantry that is Covid prepared because of Smith's. It feels like things are starting to wind down, but when you have five kids, you can't rely on society being rational LOL. Weekly I check the Meat Dept. specials. Sent a bakery order plenty of time in advance for graduation asked for blue and yellow iced cupcakes with sprinkles & showed up the day before graduation to be handed airbrushed cupcakes with each cupcake blue & yellow airbrush making green all over the place & no sprinkles left without cupcakes but felt it was such a simple request to be butchered so badly. read more

I have never been disappointed each time I shop at Smith's. The store is organized, well stocked and prices are great. The specialty items like the deli, floral and bakery have an expansive offering. There are several self-check out kiosks so it's easy to get in and out quickly. The parking lot can get crowded so avoid the peak times. read more

The sad thing about racism is you don't have to look for it, it finds you. Aisle 19, in the middle of the store is where the hair products are kept. I grabbed some hair ties from this aisle. Wow, Smith's, you've won me over! After their summertime remodel, which was, at times, really challenging to endure, they've emerged like a butterfly from their dusty, disorganized cocoon! Shopping at Smith's this summer was an exercise in patience. Imagine week to week, not knowing where your regularly located items were, if they were to be found at all! I have to say that after their grand reopening, it's ALL. Worth. It!!! Their new cheese counter makes me want to cry tears of joy! Buh bye, Whole Foods! Their already amazing florist got the prime placement it truly deserved. New bulk foods area?!?! Woohoo!!! I've personally never liked the Starbuck's/shopping combos, but I know people gotta have their caff fix, I get it. I digress. Bravo, Smith's, for the gorgeous remodel! Pick up is horrible. Always late, products are wrong or poor quality, pickup takes a very long time sometimes waiting 30 minutes to an hour.

This applies to the PHARMACY only. If I could give less than one star I would. Rude employees. Insurance is frustrating enough in its own. Throw in unhelpful pharm techs/pharmacists and it makes the process even more stressful. My issue with this pharmacy is too long to go into, but as someone who worked customer service for 15 years, I have always prided myself on being respectful and kind to retail employees because I know what they have to put up with...that being said, my experience with this pharmacy was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. They do not listen and they act like they couldn't care less about you. Feigning that you care about the person who needs your help is basic human kindness. I will never return to this pharmacy and I will make sure that everyone I know is aware of how nasty these people are. Edit: The lone gentleman that works here was kind enough, but both women(including the pharmacist) should look into careers that do not have any human interaction.....and if that gentleman reads this? I was told to get coupons I would need to use their app, by the checker at the self check out! I don't need more apps! They don't have enough staffing! Stopped in to get some protein bars and some Lara Bars that are (organic power bars) and some Kombucha for my daughter. My daughter loves these things. The choices for these items here were a little lacking (Note to self). This store is across the street from Reed High School so sometimes the parking lot is crowded with teens. There is a large parking lot and a variety of stores and restaurants at this local. I usually only shop here when they have a advertised special, case buy, or coupon special. The store was clean. They have added a lot more flowers since the last time I was here. We collected the items we wanted and purchased them. We did self pay. In and out quickly. read more

Absolutely LOVE this store after the remodel! I've lived near this location on and off, but never really shopped here loyally before. Pre-remodel, the store just looked somewhat old and dirty, the prices were higher, and the overall selection (especially for meat) wasn't very good. They have drastically improved, and I do probably 80% of my shopping here. The meat counter now has fresh looking quality cuts, and the product selection for healthy food options has drastically improved. Best of all, they offer online grocery shopping - so every Friday morning I purchase all of my food online in about 15 minutes. This means I don't have to spend 1.5 hours at the end of my exhausting work week dodging rude people who obliviously block the entire aisle, while taking 20 minutes to select 1 bottle of milk. Instead, I simply pick up all of the food at day's end, and a Smith's employee loads the bags into the car. There's a $5 fee for this, but the amount of time and hassle it saves is completely worth the cost. The employees are always super friendly too. They also offer direct delivery to your house for a $10 fee - this is great for people who are injured, elderly, sick, or don't have a car. I've never tried their Instacart scanners, where you can tally up the groceries on a device as you shop. That's also a great new feature, as you can completely avoid the whole standing in line nonsense, then standing there waiting for everything to get rung up. They also have a plethora of self-check stations, which is perfect when you just need to pick up a few things in a hurry. There's only 1 strange thing I've noticed in the store.. they created an awesome section of bulk foods, where you previously could purchase bulk rice, beans, grains, and nuts that are hard to find at other supermarkets. But now the section labeled "rice and beans" is filled with a bunch of junk food like gummi worms and chocolate-covered whatevers. I was happy to see healthier bulk food options arrive, but after only a few months, they completely disappeared. I see people are complaining about the Visa card situation... which I can kind of understand. But I doubt most people only have 1 singular Visa credit card that they can use for the purchase of food. Why not use an alternate payment source? I'm just happy it doesn't apply to Visa debit cards! As for Smith's reasoning ... I have a hard time believing that they lose more money from Visa Credit Card fees than they gain? Shunning certain customers who want to pay with Visa really seems bizarre and like shooting yourself in the foot. Then again, I'm not in charge of Smith's finances, so apparently they think it was a profitable business decision. In any case, I would highly recommend this store to anyone, and will be shopping here for years to come! read more

I have been coming to this store for YEARS!!! And recently it has undergone some much needed interior renovations! They have added a small Starbucks and a few other areas that will keep them in good competition with other local grocery stores. There are many things that are to be liked from this store. It is very clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and it has a great selection for all dietary needs. They have an amazing beer selection... They are quick to carry beers that are put out seasonally. And they offer single bottles to build your own 6 pack. The think I think I like the most about this location is the Managers Specials. Daily markdowns on meat. I've picked up roasts, brats, pork chops and other cuts for just a few bucks each. And when you are feeding a small army (there are 6 of us - 2 adults, 2 teens, a pre-teen and a kindergartner) more bang for your buck goes along ways! We will continue to shop this store and look forward to the rest of the amazing renovations to be completed! read more

I don't live close but I will drive to Smiths over shopping at Save Mart but never again. On 2 different occasions I have seen nice run under the produce islands in the middle of the day. If they have mice running around in their store, what do they have in the back?! Every time I go to the deli, they NEVER wipe down the meat slicer before they cut my meat, in between my meat and cheese nor after when they go to the next customer. I've also seen them wearing the same gloves to slice my meat, then go to the scale and open the fridge then touch my meat again. This place advertises products and then doesn't properly stock for the sale. This was my second time they advertised Rockstars and they were out. I asked for a raincheck and the cashier was rude. The old man working on 7/17/22 up front at the self check out needs to be fired. He is constantly rude, an unnecessary unprofessional. I have had serval issues with him. And today he refused my ID because it was voided because I got an address change , however it was not expired, the barcode still worked and I had my paper temporary that he refused to see. I had all valid documents and he was just nasty and harsh. Do better with the people you hire. (He has grey hair, kinda short 5'8ish, and maybe in his 60s) He needs to replaced or moved to a less social department. read more
