This Walgreens pharmacy is the absolute WORST of every pharmacy I've ever been to. There's NEVER enough people on staff. You're always waiting a ridiculous amount of time. I'm actually in the pharmacy drive-thru right now. Initially there were 4 cars ahead of me. It's been 40 minutes and there's still one car ahead of me. To make matters worse, they notoriously run out of your meds. They're constantly issuing partial fills & making you come back in a week for the remainder. That's if you're lucky! Usually they're just OUT of your medication. They make zero accommodations to help you in situations like that. They don't care that your medication needs to be taken at a certain time or day, so if you're on a med that is time sensitive or causes a physical reaction if you don't have it on time, you're just left to deal with the physical pain with no idea when you'll get relief. They ran out of my estrogen patch, didn't offer me the refill like normal so I didn't find out they were out of stock until the day I had to put a new patch on. They told me to call other pharmacies to see if anyone else might have it. Unbelievably bad customer service. The LEAST they could have done was make a couple calls for me. Nope! Can't do that. Thankfully, Walmart pharmacy actually had my patch in stock. I called them & told them what happened. Walmart went out of their way to call Walgreens for me, to tell them to transfer the prescription to them. Even then, I had to go into Walgreens to tell them Walmart's request was waiting on them. This pharmacy is whacked, always. Walgreens itself at this place is wonderful on pyramid highway in Sparks, Nevada, but the pharmacy is horrible. The worst customer service you would ever get any Pharmacy. They're all understaffed and underpaid, they don't care about the public whatsoever, I've been going here for the past 10 years. when you have to get a local prescription, that's the only place I know of that's near me, after being in the ER the day and having my hip replacement done and being an extreme pain we live 1520 minutes from the pharmacy so going home and going back is not an option we sat in line forever after 5 PM, they had received the prescription about 3 PM, so there's no excuse for that whatsoever. It was oxycodone for the extreme pain. I'm in, and aspirin, which is stupid. That was a stupid prescription from the hospital. They had plenty of time to fill it. So we sat in the drive-through line because I'm unable to walk at that moment I'm in socks and just getting fresh out of the hospital. So the person in the first part of the line there was four of us and took forever so you know I think they were waiting too because they have to help the counter and then they have to come to the window and I'm sorry get one of the window and one of the counter you have that many prescriptions get off your butt and do something in this world instead of being lazy. They're never friendly. So we're in line finally it's our turn 30 minutes later. My husband says it was called and it should be ready, but my app is telling me it's not ready. so give my drivers license check us out and there's no prescription, she says you have to wait 10 minutes, I had some oxycodone from my husband from a previous surgery that I don't like taking, but I had no choice so as we were pulling out of the parking lot, the Pharmacist calls and I went, maybe they're gonna go ahead and fill it for me and just tell me to wait, no it was a guy with it with an Indian, Hindu accent whatever he is, and I was crying on the phone and I said oh can you fill it and he says oh no you left your drivers license at the window, my husband looked at me and went you gotta be kidding, and I'm bawling on the phone saying is there anyway you can refill it fill it real quick, I don't wanna come back, and he said no I'll have your license here you know you have to wait 2025 minutes for your prescription, and I'm bawling on the phone, and I know why he didn't want to fill it right then, but I'm not gonna get into that, so we ended up going home and then my husband went back and got it the next day. I tell you what if I didn't have any oxycodone at home I would've been pissed. They had that prescription many hours before I even showed up at that window and I made sure during my checkout at the hospital lot. They sent it over early enough so I could just pick it up on my way home. They do this all the time if I look at the reviews I hope this company looks at these reviews. You do something about this Pharmacy crap it's all wrong. I'm a huge Yelper and I'm going there next. next time I find a different local one, most of my stuff I get express scripts just for this reason, but when you have an emergency, you don't have a choice if I were, you don't go here. read more

I certainly agree with the current 2 star rating of Wallgreen's pharmacy in Spanish Sprngs. I transferred my meds from another source approx 4 months ago. The store and the pharmacy managers treated me like I was a petty criminal. Apparently the pharmacist mixed 2 meds that I was told were ready to be picked up and one more would be ready tomorrow. The tomorrow one winded up in one of 2 bags and the one I was to pick up was left behind. I had 2 prescriptions, each in separate bags. When I got home and opened the bags I noticed the wrong meds in the bag. The next day I was told to bring the meds in. The pharmacy member examined the video (?) and commented that I had picked up the right meds and the video showed the pharmacist bagging the meds. The store manager chimed in and I was placed in a predicament. Finally I said "How do you explain, that I have what were to be tomorrow's meds in this vial that has yesterday's date. I had previously told them they both would owe me an apology when this was resolved. At the end they conceded, the store manager apologized, but no apology from the pharmacy manager. A few weeks later I picked up a med that I have been taking for years. My daily dosage is 25 mg, the pharmacist gave me tablets that were 100 mg. I caught that mistake again and the pharmacist apologized and gave me the proper dosage without incident. Today, 8 February 2025, my wife and I went to the Walmart Supercenter on Pyramid Way in Sparks, Nevada for a scheduled appointment at 12:20 PM to receive vaccinations. We are both senior citizens with Medicare (A&B) as Primary and private insurance as secondary. We both have diagnosed medical conditions meeting the requirement for Medicare to function as the primary payer for vaccinations. Both of us were there for a Covid-19 vaccination and, in addition, my wife was supposed to receive the Pneumonia vaccine. We arrived a few minutes ahead of the appointment time and registered with "Rolando" (His badge read: "Rolando, Customer Service in Training") at the Pharmacy and submitted both of our Medicare and private insurance cards for processing. We were quickly told by Rolando that our insurance did not recognize either of us as clients of our secondary insurance, a company where we have been insured for over 30 years. He told us to call our insurance company. As to our primary coverage under Medicare he completely avoided taking any of the information from our Medicare documentation and returned our Medicare cards without perusing any of the information on those documents. He told my wife that our Medicare only covered Hospital situations, although our cards are clearly marked to include both Medicare part A and B. A quick review at CMS.gov, the U.S. government website for Medicare, reveals: "Medicare Part B covers the following types of vaccines and their administration: Preventive vaccines specified in statute: Examples include the Influenza, COVID-19, Pneumococcal, and Hepatitis B vaccines, which are used to prevent illness" https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/part-b-drugs/vaccine-pricing Rolando did not check with anyone else at the Pharmacy regarding his erroneous handling of this situation and so we opted to go elsewhere since he was of neither disposition nor inclination to be of any real "Customer Service", whether "in Training" or in reality. He was of no help. More "Training" is needed. Subsequently later this afternoon, my wife called Walgreens at the corner of Pyramid Way and Eagle Canyon in Sparks and the pharmacist advised her she did not need an appointment, and we could just show up as walk ins at their facility. We did just that and were received cordially and professionally at the Walgreens pharmacy desk at 2:28 PM today and we completed all the questions required in the screening process, reviewed our Medicare and secondary health insurance information and the Walgreens employee said that there was no problem with any of our insurance or information. Walgreens had exactly the same information that we presented to "Rolando, Customer Service in Training" only about 2 hours after we left Walmart and "Rolando" in our rear-view mirror. We left the Walgreens facility with vaccinations completed at 2:53 PM today, a total time of only 25 minutes to do all the preliminary paperwork, insurance verification and RECEIVE THE VACCINATIONS. 25 minutes for the whole shebang. Comparisons matter! In this comparison there is only one clear winner: Walgreens!!! Thank you, Walgreens. "Customer Service" apparently takes on a genuine and viable context with your pharmacy and you obviously don't require additional "training" in that department. I've had this as my designated go to pharmacy for 14 years. I will no longer come back here... over the last year this place cannot keep the pharmacy staffed. The ones that are left, you can see them purposely take all the time they can to help one person. The fast pass is non-existent you still have to wait in line. I went to pick up my RX and the employee at the counter said they did not have any RX's on my account. I showed her a picture of my Walgreens App that shows that the medication was ready to pick up at this location. The employee was extremely rude and told me there was nothing she could do. I told her they needed to fix it because it is an issue in their system. The employee refused and got the pharmacist who told me I could call my doctor and have them re-send the RX to the Downtown Reno location as they were about to close. I told him that I would not be doing that as it was a Walgreens issue and not one with my doctor or myself. After telling them my husbands name to pick up his RX they were able to find my RX under my married last name (My name has never been changed on my Walgreens Account or on my RX) The Employee was again very rude and said I should have told her it was under a different name. I'm not even sure how this could have happened since my name was correct on my app and the RX that was sent over. This was not my first poor experience at this pharmacy and I will not being going back. read more

WORST pharmacy I have ever used. I have never had to fight so hard to get prescriptions that my doctor has written for me in my life. I've been told "we need to get an okay from your doctor before we release these to you" multiple times, which is insane. My doctor WROTE the prescription, and SENT it to you... how is that not them giving the okay to release it to me? They freaking wrote it!!! I agree with other people who have reviewed saying they felt they were treated as criminals here. 100% that is how I have felt every single time I have gone in here. I struggle with severe anxiety and sleep issues, and literally went three days without sleep (and barely any the other nights), because they wouldn't release my prescription to me. It. Is. Insane. Unfortunately, this Walgreens pharmacy needs to make some changes. First, it's impossible to get someone on the phone. No one answers and if you're lucky to get it answered, you're then put on hold. Secondly, the staff is always overwhelmed and slow. There is no prompt action. Thirdly, every time I have to pick up prescriptions, they are never filled even though they have had 2-8 hours to fill them. This is quit frankly, unacceptable. I give ample time to fill. When I ask why the prescriptions are not filled, they say they don't know why. Please get a manager and or Pharmacist in this pharmacy that can manage a team and correctly service the public. read more

My go-to Walgreens because I live nearby! The staff are always nice, albeit quiet. I like the cleanliness and organization of this store. It's always easy and quick to pick up prescriptions and I even got my COVID vaccine here, which was also really convenient and very speedy despite me being late for both appointments. I ordered photos for pickup at 11:15 and received a notification they were ready at 11:21. I've never been disappointed by their photo service and it's really affordable. I often find myself buying more than I need, they just have some cool stuff here sometimes. Overall a good location and one I think my family and I plan to continue using indefinitely. read more

The service here is horrible. I waited on hold for an hour and a half, three separate times in the same day, just to be hung up on EVERY TIME before anyone ever answered. I need my sons medication and the other locations won't transfer it because it has to be done from this location. Once I finally had time to get to the location (not everyone has that luxury), I waited in line for 45 minutes and once I got to the drive up window, the lady, after about ten minutes, picked up the phone and said, "you're gonna have to wait and one of the few people inside will help you when we have time" and hung up. Now, I fully understand that all the other pharmacies up here shut down, leaving this one to take the entire load of Spanish Springs. I understand that that overloads them with work. But that absolutely does not excuse rude and unprofessional behavior. And they need to do something about the phone situation asap. You can't mess around with peoples medications, it's life or death in some situations. At the very least they should make some sort of contingency for times like this where other locations can share the load without the customer first having to contact the uncontactable store. Worst pharmacy ever been too. Checked in for vaccinations and wondered what was wrong when others that came in after our appointment time, when I asked they said they were taking people by their appointment, I explained that obviously their counter person did not properly check us in on their system. After everyone else was gone from the waiting area I went up again. They said the pharmacist was working on our vaccinations(for 20 minutes!)...I expressed my frustration to the counter person, she apologized ten walked back to the group in the processing area looked back and nodded in our direction and they all broken into laughter (no exaggeration). An hour and half plus after our "appointment" time we received our vaccination. Glad we made their day for a good laugh, when the pharmacy workers go on their "work stoppage" I will be rooting for AI to replace these clowns. I have always said "never let your customers feel they can do without you, because one day they just might". Good luck in you new jobs at a fast food restaurant after the work stoppage! Sooo I left this absolutely HORRIBLE pharmacy for SaveMart. Who, of course, had to close and alllll the prescriptions went back to this horrible effing Walgreens. I called tonight to refill a prescription for my dog, who is on medication for seizures. I was on hold for almost NINETEEN AND A HALF MINUTES, beating their current record by quite a bit. The phone call was almost half an hour of my time, only to be told "it won't let me refill that, your doctor needs to call us". I asked "he has five refills on this, why won't it let you refill it?" And was told "I don't know. It's been giving us trouble." I didn't want my prescriptions at this pharmacy any more and tried to leave, only to have a completely efficient pharmacy with knowledgeable employees closed down and my prescriptions sent back to this hotbed of ineptness and inefficiency. My wife was told on the phone that her prescription would be ready at 10:30 AM. I gave them a little extra time and arrived at 11:15 AM. I was then told that it would be another 5 or 10 minutes. Convenient location and excellent service! I'm so happy that I moved my prescriptions to this location with warm and friendly pharmacists and great support staff that is always ready to help you find something and always provide a friendly smile this is now by far my favorite pharmacy in the area. We usually have a good experience here, but we have one consistent problem - the Rx lunch break. Why on earth would a place founded on being a Pharmacy CLOSE the Pharmacy down completely from 2:30-3:05pm every day? Didn't anyone ever think that was a BAD IDEA to completely shut this part of the business down? Really? Is there no way to rotate your staff? My husband gets off work at 2pm.
