I'm rating this location solely on the pharmacy alone. Every single time I come, my prescription is ready and there is basically no line. Compared to other CVS locations this is a really big deal. I enjoy not having to spend 20+ minutes in line waiting for my prescription. And they always catch if I have doubles of prescriptions on my account (such as increased doses) and won't give me the new prescription without confirming I'm not taking both. Which is vastly different than the other locations. read more

We've struggled with cvs for a while, but this last time was the worst. My husband picked up my prescription on the way home, and they gave him the wrong form of medication. When I called back I had to leave a message because you can't directly talk to anyone. And when they left me a message, the girl said the prescription wasn't on file and I'd need the dr to send a request - it had to be on file because you took my money for it! I don't need a new one, I need you to give me the correct medication. The pharmacist should have noticed it was the wrong kind of medication from what was actually prescribed, luckily I noticed. The worst customer service by far. I called to check for a prescription to be filled that my normal pharmacy did not have in stock. I was told that they had it, got my prescription transferred, and had to do this in person because the customer service is so bad here. Miscommunications and blatantly lying to customers for whatever reason, this CVS didn't apologize for their employee telling me that they had this prescription then showing up 8 hours later and they didn't have it in stock. I believe her name was Sarah, but she had an attitude when I asked her to transfer my script elsewhere, so my son could start his antibiotics. As I stood at that window, this tech was very upset I demanded answers and help. She was quick to slam a piece of paper stating she helped me. Noticed 6 other employees not doing anything besides conversing including the pharmacists. Who is running this place? What a piece of crap pharmacy. The website says the prescription is ready, so you wait in line at the drive-up window for 42 minutes (it's just as bad inside) to be told it was pulled from the shelf. I never got notified when the scrip was ready, but the app said it was. I have no choice but to use CVS because my insurance company has a contract with them, but if you have a choice, RUN to another pharmacy. CVS on Sparks Blvd is the absolute worst. read more

This store at 5151 Sparks Blvd is closing 5-10 minutes EARLY everyday. Tonight, we and at least 4 other customers tried to make the last minute mad dash before the main store closed at 10:00p so we arrived at 9:54p and the doors were already locked! The pharmacy now closes at 9:00p but the other night, it was closed and they'd already pulled the registers at 8:50p! UNACCEPTABLE! If they're going to close early, they need to make their store hours reflect that change. I'm burning my very expensive gas trying to get what I need before closing and they're closing early! This needs to be addressed because I no longer want to do any business with them! One star is being generous for this location's pharmacy. I showed up to pick up my prescription the day after it was sent over, thinking they had plenty of time to fill it. It was an antibiotic, so I need it in a timely manner. I was told "oh we don't have that." No one called to tell me I wouldn't be able to fill my prescription here. They continued to tell me I needed to call around to find it and have other locations call them to transfer the prescription. When calling other locations I found out that is 100% false, they can see which locations have it and transfer it, as that is their job. The woman at the vista location apologized on behalf of the rude employees at this location. So when I called back the sparks blvd location to explain the situation, the woman hung up on me. I called back and another girl answered, saying the girl I spoke to earlier was Arlene. She was so rude, and on top of that hung up on me. I'm just trying to get my medicine, if I'm going to do their job I better be paid for it. When they finally "transferred" it I called the new location to double check. They didn't transfer it. The man at the Northtowne Ln was very nice and helpful, and pulled the prescription over to their location. I will never use this CVS again and by the looks of every other review, neither will a lot of people. Simple customer service is not hard. Rudest customer service I have ever experienced at any local CVS. I've been shopping at this CVS for a few months now. NEVER have I experienced something so unpleasant. I am familiar with self check out. An employee took my debit card out of the chip reader, only because he lost patience. I did not ask for help nor did I need it. As soon as I got the machine to work, he got up from whatever he was doing, took my debit card out and said "we do it a certain way". Mind you he was scanning money into a machine right next to me. I was aware he was there. I did not need his help and he was very impolite. Maybe that situation could've gone differently on his end. Sad to say I will not be shopping here anymore. read more

Rude pharmacy techs. Told to wait in two different lines to get my insurance ran for my prescription. No big deal I thought. So waited in the next line, told insurance doesn't cover the RX. Asked if they could do a generic as I can't afford $180 for this rx. They said no- do you want it or not? After leaving I found out from my doctor that CVS had two options: they could have contacted my prescriber and alternatively they could have used the Good RX to get me a discounted price of $45 that's over $145 savings!! I picked this pharmacy as it was on my way home. We just bought a house and was sad to switch pharmacies, but I didn't see myself driving to Northwest Reno. The pharmacy is always busy, going in there is hit or miss with the service and wait time. My biggest gripe is that they fill all of your prescriptions on file, whether you called them in or not. Then come the constant text messages saying that your prescriptions are ready for pick-up. Then when you go to pick up just the ONE prescription you actually did call in, the cashier tries to push you to buy them all! My first "career" was as a pharmacy technician, so I know that the pharmacies need to fill a certain number of prescriptions to keep their numbers high, to justify their labor and to hit the bonuses for just the Pharmacists, not the techs, but it's a hassle to do business with them. I will be finding a new pharmacy soon, and probably Save-Mart, as the location on MaeAnn was always amazing, service wise. read more

While I understand they're just about the busiest CVS pharmacy on the planet because of all the California transplants into the Spanish Springs area, they don't have to be rude about it. Been going here for years but I finally stopped just because they're always losing my prescription from a few different providers. Not only that sometimes when I call the check they'll say they have it but in a rude very angerly way. The last time I called because it had been a week they told me they had no such script. That was the final straw they keep you hopping from one foot to the next. The manager and employee's strongly need to learn some conflict management. There system is annoying I called to settle a reason on why the automated phone service keeps calling me, and the first worker was very hostile and short and aggressive, which made me aggressive. Then, after speaking to the main person in charge, the pharmacist was also very short and aggressive, and quick to threaten to call the cops on me. seeing that this place only has one star doesn't surprise me. If anyone in management happens to see this review, I would strongly suggest teaching the employees some conflict management seeing that you have a fucked up system and you just expect customers to be your little bitch and be good little boys and girls on top of being annoyed with the system and being treated very aggressively. read more

Another 1 star review from me. I purchased a Steam card tonight and peeled off the strip at the counter right in front of the cashier. The card was defective because it peeled off the code and everything. The cashier tells me there's no refunds. Uhh you clearly watched me peel it off in front of you. I ask for the manager. No manager but this other customer service lady comes up. Says loudly with an attitude that there's no refunds. The card is defective and I peeled it off right in front of this employee right here. If I could give this place a negative three - I would. We changed from this to the one at Target (which is no better, actually worse possibly). Don't get your prescriptions here. It seems to me that they have a mixture of lax security and over-bearing security, mixed with rudeness from some people, and and difficulties getting medications for stupid reasons. First off, I am the husband, I would think that they would ask for MY I.D. for my WIFE'S prescriptions, not let me come in there over 40 times over the course of 3 years and pick stuff up without even having to show my I.D. except maybe 2 or three times....but.... Then my WIFE comes in to get HER prescriptions and they make her drive all the way home to get her PASSPORT, because apparently her Driver's License is not enough even though HER NAME IS ON THE DAMN BOTTLE!!! So basically, I, the husband, can wander in and all I have to do at most is show my I.D. and Sign, but the goddamn patient needs to show proof of fucking CITIZENSHIP to get their OWN PRESCRIPTION, WTH!?!?!? Or how about this, nobody there clearly seems to understand the law when it comes to narcotics prescriptions. One day, we can pick up the order just fine, next day, someone else says something different. One say's it's our Insurance, other say's it's because of some new law, next person is fine and we can pick it up. WHAT THE HELL!?!? A different story every time. One time they were out of stock and so they just gave us the bottle from in back, isn't that ILLEGAL!?!? This pharmacy has a reputation for always taking forever. I went in to pick up some prescriptions. Asked Maggie how long it would be. She said "About 10 minuets." So I went to sit down and wait. It ended up to be more like 15 minuets which for this location is actually great time wise! However, this store is really serious about waiting behind the red line. They called my name and a lady was walking over to the cashier. I walked over to the cashier as there was no one else in line. I was told to go wait behind the red line. Seriously, there was no one there. As I waited there all of about 20 seconds some one else came up and waited just a few feet ahead of the red line. They told her to wait behind the red line. The cashier called my name and I paid for my meds. They get a three because they are neurotic about the customer being behind the RED LINE. End note I needed a CVS card. So upon leaving the store I asked a clerk who was shelving product if she could help me. She met me at the front of the store. She was bubbly and cheerful. Her name was Whitney. This review is for the actual PHARMACY. I have been here multiple times and have only received good to decent service once. The pharmacist has only ever consulted me once, otherwise all the other times that I've received a new medication they have never asked if I had questions or did their job to actually consult me. I usually go to another CVS pharmacy because of their service, but come here out of convince. This recent time, today, was totally unacceptable. I was told the other day that they a encouraging patients to use the drive thru (encourage meaning force), and since the line was very long I decided to come today. After grabbing my medications, I unknowingly tried to give the tech my ID and new insurance card. Instead of simply saying "thank you, but we actually won't be needing that" or anything in that manner, I was told in such hostility "NO, I'm not taking that". After this, the service just went downhill and honestly just outright spiteful. The tech was not nice, did not tell me productively that I needed to make a simple call to fix my insurance. Instead, flat told me that none of my information is correct, still proceeded to ignore looking at my new information, rolled her eyes, and tell me I need to fix my stuff otherwise I can't get my medications. I tried to tell her without success, that I haven't ever received any complications and it could be possibly due to the new insurance card that I literally received a few days ago. Nope. She knew I would have a hard time getting my schedule 2 medications transfered over to the other pharmacy that I wanted, but lied to me that they're able to do it. I am beyond upset and this behavior is not acceptable! I am a Nurse and I get everyone is anxious or stressed due to covid-19. But you, as a medical employee/professional know what your duties are and that you should be helping patients during this time, not make their life more difficult just because. This is my go to pharmacy for all my prescriptions. Located in Spanish springs on los altos and sparks Blvd, it is super convenient for me. CVS is a mini mart in reality that also will fill your prescriptions. They sell pretty much everything at a higher price, milk, cereal canned goods, limited frozen food, ice cream, liquor, greeting cards, Toner ink cartridges, printer paper, paper goods, napkins, toilet paper, paper towels, cosmetics, and much more. They have a kiosk to develop your pictures or make a small photo book. My only negative is some of the people in the pharmacy are unfriendly, and just down right rude. My prescriptions are there, and I love the drive thru pick up, so I will be back. read more

With my health issues, I have a lot of prescriptions. I need a pharmacy that is fast, efficient, and makes few mistakes. My insurance changed about a year ago, and I had to find a new pharmacy. I was upset because the pharmacy I used previously was excellent. I tried one closer to my house with poor results including leaving me scrambling for insulin over a weekend when I had requested the refill a week in advance. Then I found CVS Pharmacy on Sparks Blvd. and have been happy ever since. Though not perfect, they do strive to be, and make every effort to correct mistakes with sincere apologies. They are a little out of my way, but I don't mind if the service is good. Last night I stopped by to pick up some refills. I needed my Dexcom transmitter (continuous glucose monitoring system for control of my Type 1 diabetes that lasts about 3 months), but received the Dexcom receiver instead (which I already have and does not need replacement unless damaged). I pulled back around to the drive-up window (a feature I love in a pharmacy) and explained my issue. The pharmacy tech immediately started fixing my issue. No blame on the doctor not calling in the right item, the item was in stock, they let me return the receiver, and had my transmitter ready in a few minutes. Honestly this situation could have been a "make it or break it" deal for me and they 100% proved to me that CVS is the right pharmacy for me. read more

Checked for prescription through phone automation. It did not detect my prescription and put me through to the pharmacy. On hold for 25 minutes - person who finally answered phone said my prescription was ready. I explained that I had been on the phone for 25 minutes to get information that was incorrect through their phone automation and that somebody ought to be aware and that could be a problem. The lady on the phone got defensive/snippy and gave me her excuses about how busy she was all by herself. Respectfully, that's not a me problem, that's a her problem. All she had to do was acknowledge the issue and say she would bring it up as a problem to be solved. No personal responsibility at all. Sad. read more

I come here mainly for my non-mail pharmacy needs. They are always efficient and fill the prescriptions correctly and quickly. I even had an expensive one that they helped locate a coupon for. The drive-thru is really convenient for pickup, too. As to their store, it's clean and well stocked. May 5th, 2019 Update: At this point. I wouldn't recommend this location to my worst enemy. *CVS Violates HIPAA (Calling out full patient names and their prescriptions to co-workers because they can't find it) *CVS Distributes EXPIRED Medication (We unfortunately just realized they filled our son's 3 month prescription with medication that expired a month earlier. Prescription fill date was 12/2018 and expiration date on med was 11/2018. It was already expired when they filled it) *CVS Doesn't Fill Correctly Ignores questions like "This is my NEW prescription right? The old one was incorrect" with answers like "yeah, yeah". FALSE - the tried to fill a very old prescription. Doesn't pay attention to dosage. Filled improper amount according to dosage, then billed a 15 day supply as a 30 day. *CVS is Unorganized They literally will have prescriptions littering a dirty floor. I wish I had taken a picture. Watching the techs try to find prescription was incredibly painful. *CVS Has Rude Techs I can't tell you how many times our hearts have dropped to walk in and see particular pharmacy techs working there that day. There are a couple techs there that always cause us problems. They are rude, apathetic, incompetent, and unhelpful. This is our health, and you treat it like you got my Fast Food order wrong. At this point we will be filing a complaint with the Nevada Board of Pharmacy. Filling our son's prescription with expired medication is probably not only morally reprehensible, but probably borderline insurance fraud (They get paid for selling medication they should be able to). Previous Review I have never once been here after dropping off a prescription and actually picked up my prescription. There is a problem. Every. Single. Time. My insurance company recently dropped Walgreens from our providers. However. We never had any of these problems with Walgreens. And yet magically. CVS has never once properly filled my families prescriptions. And every single time. It's apparently not there fault. "So and So needs to do this first". Then we get them to do "that". When I called the insurance, they informed me CVS had submitted the prescription WRONG. This CVS is right around the corner from our house so my husband and I are there often. The store is clean and easy to navigate. The lines are never to long and they always have what we needed to grab. There are two very nice employees at this store. I don't have their names but one is a very chipper lady with blonde hair and the other is a polite and quiet gentleman with brown hair. I get the impression that the gentleman has a management title but I'm not sure. Unfortunately, there is one female employee at this store who actually stopped us from going to CVS for a few months and we took all our business to Walgreens. I don't know her name either because she never wears a name tag ad usually has an old sweatshirt over her uniform. She has brown hair and a mole on the tip of her nose. She is incredibly rude and condescending. We went in a few months ago and I asked her to bag some items separate since they were going to different locations. She scoffed and told me she is going to do what "he" wants her to do and then pointed to my husband. I was shocked. I looked at her, mouth agape trying to process what she just said to me. She looked at me and with all the attitude of an upset teenager asked me if I was trying to have a "staring contest". WOW. A few months went by and we stopped seeing her. We assumed she was no longer with the company and we returned to CVS on a regular basis. But a few days ago she was there. With all the same attitude. We have left again to Walgreens and will not return to CVS. It's a shame that one person can drag down the entire customer experience.
