My beef is with the pharmacy tech gentleman who completely lied to me when asked if my husbands medication was discounted by Good Rx. We were charged $117 for a cholesterol pill! After returning to our car I looked up on the good RX app. To find out this medication is only $67 on the good RX. After returning to the store I had to go to three different areas at the pharmacy in order to change the credit card charges and receive discount. This pharmacy tech has no empathy and could care less about people!! Needless to say our prescriptions will now be transferred to a store where we can trust the pharmacy. read more

We've used this pharmacy for years and today I transferred a prescription to a competitor. Multiple failed attempts to get the online system to recognize the prescription (that originally came from their pharmacy), then spent over 45 minutes on hold to talk to a real person. Called (for the third time), and my call was finally answered by a store associate, who said, "They are very busy. You'll need to continue to hold." Nope. I need to transfer my prescription. So my wife went down to pick up our daughters prescription they told her that they could not fill it because their computer system had canceled all of the licenses for the Dr's so we would need to get it later. The only pharmacy I've ever used that routinely requires 6-7 hours to fill a prescription. And I mean almost every single time (with a large sample size). The staff are generally unfriendly and have no empathy for important considerations. I get a truckload of prescriptions every month, and there's only one I ask to be rushed. It's a pain medication that can't be filled until the day I'm out. They can't or won't fill it the night before so it's waiting the next day (to be fair, I don't know laws and regulations on this; this may not be their policy). I have to call when they open the day it's due, when I'm out, and then wait until 2 or 3 p.m. before it's ready. This happens every single month. I'd be happy for all of my other medications, which can be filled a couple days before I'm out, to take a lower priority so everyone's pain meds become the top priority. Seems like a simple solution. Shocked at the lack of professionalism on behalf of the pharmacists on duty recalling out loud incidents with patients who were prescribed controlled medications--that he clearly has a problem with dispensing. Although no names were mentioned, the fact that he shared his premonitions about persons who were awaiting such medications in an open forum, and in a demeaning context, demonstrated his lack of professionalism, and a level of ignorance that is far greater than the "addicts" he clearly forgets are created by the prescribers (doctors). CVS should be proud of such high class staffers. Moreover, being that I was picking up a controlled medication I have been taking since I was 18 (now 49) i felt targeted the second I interacted with the clerk who helped retrieve my order. She was rude and clearly irritated that I wanted to apply a discount which was incorrectly calculated prior to my arrival. Her effort to assist me with the price change was futile and crass. She presented to the correcting pharmacist as if it was unnecessary and annoying (to have to correct the transaction). She perseverated on the price difference only being 9$ on the controlled substance, so much so that she disregarded the significant 33$ difference in the sleep aid I was newly prescribed. She talked down to me as if I was not on her level and thus didn't have the capacity to "get it" --essentially as if I were a criminal-- based on my need for a controlled medication. Although the pharmacist corrected the price, I was humiliated at that point and told them to forget it --as I walked away I did let them know I felt like I was treated like a drug addict begging for a discount I was due all along. Crazy that I have to deal with being discriminated against by a pharmacy. I still feel like I did something wrong by. I didn't. Never again. She then spent the next 5 minutes chewing the fat with a coworker while I couldn't do anything but wait...Really? Last time I was here, the pharm tech had no idea what she was talking about and couldn't answer any of my questions in a straightforward manner. I've lived in Carson, South Reno, and Sparks and I have to say that this CVS is my favorite out of three that I've used regularly. My prescriptions are ready in a timely fashion. Although, I've had a few problems, the staff has been nice, and although SOME of the pharmacy techs need more training, the actual pharmacists are very knowledgeable and helpful. Extremely disappointed in this CVS pharmacy. The overall store is fine and very clean, always has what I want in stock. The pharmacy and their staff, on the other hand, is quite terrible. My mother-in-law has had her prescription "misplaced" before and had to wait over an hour to get these filled. Today was another failure on their part. After being in the ER at NNMC all morning and afternoon, I went in to CVS and hand-carried a prescription to the girl at the drop off counter. She told me it would only be 15 minutes however I needed to take mother in law home to eat and rest. I asked if I could come back in 30-40 minutes and she said it would be ready. Went back to the pharmacy about an hour later to be told 1) there was no prescription ready and 2) there was no record of a prescription dropped off. When asked if it was typical for a prescription to be lost by them she answered nonchalantly "yes it happens all the time". Wow. That's nothing to be proud of or to even admit to so easily. We will be transferring all our prescriptions elsewhere immediately. read more

Don't bother with trying to get a flu shot at CVS. I painstakingly filled out all the paperwork that goes with making an online appointment and showed up on time for my appointment the next day. They were out of flu shots. They could have called, emailed or texted me that information, but they didn't bother. My free time is very limited and I doubt I can get a flu shot this year, due to the little time I had being squandered by CVS. I tried to file a complaint online on their website but it wouldn't go through. I won't be going to CVS again, ever. I suggest you don't go either. read more

I went to drop off a prescription at CVS they were doing Covid testing I sat in the line for one hour. When I got to the window I told them they might want to open two lanes. So people dropping off and picking up RXS didn't have to wait in that line. I frequently visit this CVS Pharmacy as it is closest to my house and in the general vicinity of places I travel. Some might say I have a CVS addiction but honestly, they have really great coupons and deals and a friendly staff. I never pickup prescriptions here (as I use another pharmacy for that) but if I'm ever in need of photo prints, a birthday card, vitamins, holiday decorations, or hygiene product including makeup, I make a trip to CVS. They usually have a good special on vitamins, often times buy-one-get-one-free and good offers for receiving extra bucks with essentially can be used like cash with some restrictions. They do great discounts on candy and decorations after the holidays and often times have cool unique things that I have never seen before. The one complaint I would have for this location is they sometimes seem understaffed so lines may be a bit long at times but nothing super unbearable! read more

Ok so I have been shopping this CVS for about a year and a half now. My previous CVS was at the south end of town. I never had an issue at that one. This one I have had two issues with the pharmacy. Just things such as not helping me with insurance. I get they might be busy but they deal with insurance everyday and going that one little step for a customer makes a huge difference. Think again people! Horrible! After years of hearing my husband complain about this establishment and other CVS stores for years I have learned my lesson. I placed a telephone refill order well before 11 am today. Got there at 3pm for a pickup at 4pm. Sure I knew I was early. Gal at the counter said order wasn't ready and to wait 10-20 mins. I was a longtime customer, but they failed me at a critical time. The regular store and personnel are great - this review is for the pharmacy and the corporate office. They lost my order on a day when I absolutely needed my prescription. They then made me wait and tried to recover only to tell me they couldn't fill it because it was 16 days old. Never mentioned that when I dropped it off. Would not call the doctor to fix it and did not call me because they had lost it. All they could say was "sorry" all the way up to their corporate office. No fix, no compensation, just a cheap old "sorry" was all I got after spending thousands with them The pharmacy staff is overworked, looks unhappy and their customer service has seriously eroded to the point of total failure. I write a lot of reviews and most are praising good businesses....this one unfortunately is not and CVS has lost a customer for life. Just in case it looks like a rant (mostly is) they actually failed me 3 weeks prior with a different prescription where they were unable to determine if my insurance (which I had already used there many times) was good. So.....they just didn't fill it. Funny how the next place did so immediately, with no issues. Go to Walgreens if you want superior service. I did. At first the CVS was great, then I started refilling my prescriptions and that were saying that they're running out of things that I needed so then I would place and order for it and wait and then it would not come on time and if it did it was after the time that they told me. Or I would have to place an order multiple times for it to just get transferred to another CVS. I even had to explain why I needed this medication and why I needed to take so much of it when I actually take a fairly low dose for my pregnancy. I believe it's not the pharmacy's job to ask me why am taking the medication unless they suspect something but obviously if I've been picking it up every other week for months it's because I have to via doctor. If you value your health, I highly recommend skipping this pharmacy. First they accessed up my wife's script by giving her a generic, which normally Is not an issue, but this was for a seizure med and written for name brand because the generic was not maintaining a therapeutic level. It was a fight to get a pre authorization from the insurance, and after cvs f'd it up they refused to subtleties again. Result: a seizure. Back to doc/insurance.Fight for preauth again.
