Safeway Pharmacy on Vista in Sparks

Thank you to Safeway Pharmacy Tech Nayeli for her Five Star outstanding Service and shot skills in giving me to date...3 painless shots. Flu, Covid and now today my 2nd shingles shot. Nayeli said if you move your arms a lot, the shots won't hurt as much for the next few days. She was right! See you next year Nayeli, I am all up to date for 2025. Julie A

I'll go with the four stars even though I consider Safeway to be pricey. They do have sales to watch for. The store is always very neat and the vegetables and fruit is always top-notch. The meat department does a great job always willing to help if I have a question or need something special from the meat department. It just doesn't seem like a really friendly Store to me. The checkers don't exactly acknowledge or make an effort as far as politeness. They often do not even greet each customer as I have watched this. But I can't blame them, they look tired. It is an easy to wait on public. Especially with the price of groceries now. However, it's very near my residence and easily accessible. Life is what you make it. I've spoken with a few department heads, and they have been friendly. Therefore, I can say the ambience seems professional to me.

I am so disappointed in Safeway or at least this location. There was only one employee and his name was Alvin that asked if he could assist me. Now normally I wouldn't really care about that because I like being independent and so on and so forth but I just got out of the hospital after a 5-day stay I've got to sling on one arm a PICC line in the other so obviously at some point I would need assistance and not once in the store did I have an employee asked me if I needed help, if they could help me with reaching anything or putting anything in my basket nothing. Now originally I just went to go pick up a few items but of course Safeway does have good sales where it's buy one get one free, or pick 4 for $20, the sodas are usually a great sale so I had $248 worth of items in my basket well actually it's more than that because I saved $198 so you can imagine my basket was full. And like I said Alvin was the only one who saw me pull my basket out to my car and he came running up and assisted me so kudos to him I think that was great everybody else you need to work on your customer service. The sales are great obviously or else I wouldn't have spent that much and saved that much but in my condition right now I would probably have to say I would go to a store that would help me or at least offer to help and spend a little more money as opposed to going to Safeway saving money and struggling

Cheaper at Walmart.. but still getting one..

In the area, and had to stop at this location. In my quest for a certain butter, and I knew Safeway carried it. I bought the two different types with and without salt. This location was nice and not too busy. I'll be using this butter with my avocado toast! Glad I stopped. Wish my location had a gas station..

Sure if you need something for tonight or tomorrow's dinner - go ahead. It's not bad produce, it's just got a little shorter lifespan on a lot of it. If you are buying your groceries for the week go to Winco, you'll save some money and your veg will last a bit longer. Toiletries: I frequently buy my shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash, toothpaste etc here. I'm not going to find the same brand/ flavor every time but I don't care. They carry good brands and I've been very happy with these purchases. Sauce: The sauce isle is one of my favorites. They have a great selection here of all kinds of sauces, marinades, dips, and dressings. Pets: I frequently buy my kitty litter, kitty snacks, and kitty dry food here. Laundry: Also my go to place for laundry needs. Frozen: Great selection. Thank you for always having my beyond burgers and big bags of frozen shrimp. Shout out to the odd selection of ice creams. Snacks: Sometimes awesome deals sometimes just ok. Always a selection of unique things to try. I appreciate the selection of nuts especially. Cheese: Don't sleep on their fancy cheese selection. If you are making a charcuterie board and this place isn't your first stop, you're doing it wrong and for too much money. Alcohol: Great selection. Discounts can be found on wine but are infrequently found on beer. Overall with Grocery Outlet you can't go in there expecting to definitely find A, B, and C in the brand and packaging you are used to. Heck it's very likely you'll find A, B, and C it's just not a guarantee and it's also likely that it will be a different flavor or brand. You are guaranteed to find something amazing at a great price that you wouldn't have had the opportunity to try otherwise. Note here: Grocery Outlet has a new store brand that is working hard to make it so that staple foods you expect to be there will be there.

The Northern Nevada stores are a great size to shop with knowledgeable personnel to help. I have become spoiled with the holiday meals that are impressive and reasonable. The Sparks store is well stocked and is maintained to a high standard. Keep up the great work. Loss of a star rating because the App can be tricky with "sale" prices that cause confusion when you go to the store and try to buy the items instead of having it as a will call pick up order. The shelf pricing doesn't reflect the online price. Not this stores fault but a marketing racket that is not driven by actual shoppers or the customer experience.

The steaks often look like "skate ramps"--poorly cut with uneven surfaces and then crammed into the packaging. As someone with meat-cutting experience, the lack of care and consistency really stands out. What really surprised me was the knowledge behind the counter. I asked an employee about a filet, and she seemed to think "filet mignon" was a completely different type of steak. When I explained that filet mignon is the tenderloin steak commonly served in restaurants--often wrapped in bacon, she argued instead of listening. The overall impression I got was that the meat department lacks experienced cutters with a solid understanding of basic beef cuts. If you're particular about how your steaks are cut or expect knowledgeable service from the meat counter, this location may leave you frustrated. Go anywhere else in Reno for a decent steak.

From specialty flours, grains, spices, and dried fruits to candies, nuts, baking ingredients, and snacks, the selection is impressive. Whether you're stocking a pantry, running a small bakery, or simply buying exactly the amount you need, the bulk department offers both variety and affordability that few competitors can match. The store itself was well stocked, clean, and easy to navigate, and the prices consistently remind you why so many shoppers make WinCo their first stop. The only downside? The checkout lines. All of this while providing full-time positions and livable wages with benefits too. Winco proves it! In the 20+ years that I've been a Winco customer, I've always been treated well which is a phenomenal track record that some jerk has ruined. Why Linda, why? She was covering the service desk and I came in to return a defective item. As I approached the desk, she was looking me up and down with a very strange expression. So because of this, I wasn't affable but I definitely wasn't rude. I cut to the chase of why I was there. She treated me VERY badly which I ignored for the most part, stating that in all of the years that I've shopped at Winco I've never been treated so poorly. She responded by saying that I was the problem and invited me to call the corporate office! Then she said aggressively, "I've had three horrible customers in one day!" repeating it a few times. I asked to speak to a manager and she quipped that he was busy and he couldn't get away so I asked someone else to page him for me and she interfered with that page, telling them to cancel it. This is a brand new store and everyone else is amazing which is what I'm used to. I wrote this shortly after the store first opened and haven't had an unpleasant experience since and I shop here weekly. I also have not seen Linda. It's a great store with great employees and low prices. I'll keep buying whatever they have that I need from Winco. This store is my first go to store.
