Safeway Pharmacy on Vista in Sparks
    Julie A.

Thank you to Safeway Pharmacy Tech Nayeli for her Five Star outstanding Service and shot skills in giving me to date...3 painless shots. Flu, Covid and now today my 2nd shingles shot. Nayeli said if you move your arms a lot, the shots won't hurt as much for the next few days. She was right! See you next year Nayeli, I am all up to date for 2025. Julie A

I'll go with the four stars even though I consider Safeway to be pricey. They do have sales to watch for. The store is always very neat and the vegetables and fruit is always top-notch. The meat department does a great job always willing to help if I have a question or need something special from the meat department. It just doesn't seem like a really friendly Store to me. The checkers don't exactly acknowledge or make an effort as far as politeness. They often do not even greet each customer as I have watched this. But I can't blame them, they look tired. It is an easy to wait on public. Especially with the price of groceries now. However, it's very near my residence and easily accessible. Life is what you make it. I've spoken with a few department heads, and they have been friendly. Therefore, I can say the ambience seems professional to me.

I am so disappointed in Safeway or at least this location. There was only one employee and his name was Alvin that asked if he could assist me. Now normally I wouldn't really care about that because I like being independent and so on and so forth but I just got out of the hospital after a 5-day stay I've got to sling on one arm a PICC line in the other so obviously at some point I would need assistance and not once in the store did I have an employee asked me if I needed help, if they could help me with reaching anything or putting anything in my basket nothing. Now originally I just went to go pick up a few items but of course Safeway does have good sales where it's buy one get one free, or pick 4 for $20, the sodas are usually a great sale so I had $248 worth of items in my basket well actually it's more than that because I saved $198 so you can imagine my basket was full. And like I said Alvin was the only one who saw me pull my basket out to my car and he came running up and assisted me so kudos to him I think that was great everybody else you need to work on your customer service. The sales are great obviously or else I wouldn't have spent that much and saved that much but in my condition right now I would probably have to say I would go to a store that would help me or at least offer to help and spend a little more money as opposed to going to Safeway saving money and struggling

Cheaper at Walmart.. but still getting one..

In the area, and had to stop at this location. In my quest for a certain butter, and I knew Safeway carried it. I bought the two different types with and without salt. This location was nice and not too busy. I'll be using this butter with my avocado toast! Glad I stopped. Wish my location had a gas station..

Stockers (specifically the chip guys) are rude inconsider and block the isle. They will yell to keep talking as customers pass by.

Only 3 check stands open and people are bagging their own groceries. The cashiers look stressed and burnt it and aren't friendly.

Sure if you need something for tonight or tomorrow's dinner - go ahead. It's not bad produce, it's just got a little shorter lifespan on a lot of it. If you are buying your groceries for the week go to Winco, you'll save some money and your veg will last a bit longer. Toiletries: I frequently buy my shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash, toothpaste etc here. I'm not going to find the same brand/ flavor every time but I don't care. They carry good brands and I've been very happy with these purchases. Sauce: The sauce isle is one of my favorites. They have a great selection here of all kinds of sauces, marinades, dips, and dressings. Pets: I frequently buy my kitty litter, kitty snacks, and kitty dry food here. Laundry: Also my go to place for laundry needs. Frozen: Great selection. Thank you for always having my beyond burgers and big bags of frozen shrimp. Shout out to the odd selection of ice creams. Snacks: Sometimes awesome deals sometimes just ok. Always a selection of unique things to try. I appreciate the selection of nuts especially. Cheese: Don't sleep on their fancy cheese selection. If you are making a charcuterie board and this place isn't your first stop, you're doing it wrong and for too much money. Alcohol: Great selection. Discounts can be found on wine but are infrequently found on beer. Overall with Grocery Outlet you can't go in there expecting to definitely find A, B, and C in the brand and packaging you are used to. Heck it's very likely you'll find A, B, and C it's just not a guarantee and it's also likely that it will be a different flavor or brand. You are guaranteed to find something amazing at a great price that you wouldn't have had the opportunity to try otherwise. Note here: Grocery Outlet has a new store brand that is working hard to make it so that staple foods you expect to be there will be there.

Today I was picking up a prescription and saw they offered vaccines here. I decided to ask Rosa who was helping me with my prescription. I decided to take care of my flu shot and another vaccine today since I was able to on a walk in basis. Process was fairly quick and just one questionnaire! Do call ahead and check times that they take walk-ins. Don't quote me on that, but I recall her saying they don't take walk-ins between 12-1pm or after 7pm. They do have some restrictions when it comes to insurance, so I recommend calling ahead. I was pleased they were able to get me in today. I can cancel my doctor visit now and my insurance saved me $500 today. Woo hoo to savings and great customer service!

Aside from that, Smith's also offered some freshly barbecued ribs that day for only $13! What a great deal! We also found some Biscoff cookies by the bread isle, and my sister and niece couldn't resist some desserts from their bakery. I lingered a little too long at the international cheese section and was tempted by some butterkase; I really like the vast selection of international cheeses and made a mental note to come back and try some more. We had very minimal interaction with employees but the cashier that rang up our groceries was really nice; overall, it was a positive shopping trip.
