12/27/24- Heard we had a new store in town, so I had to take a run over there- Very impressed with how the storefront is set up. Produce has huge selections and reasonable prices- Meat dept. was busy and the cases were long and nicely displayed. Grabbed two bags of warm corn tortillas- Pan dulce selection was decent- 5 for $4.95 I always have to try the pigs and one turnover.. The hot foods had a nice selection of items. So glad I know where to shop when I'm ready to cook some good recipes..

I give this new Mercado/Market high marks! It's very fresh and vibrant and quite a treat. I found special fresh chilies on my trek to make a new kind of salsa and that's priceless in my book. This market was bustling and I love to see it. Great produce section, with lines as big as oranges! A great meat section and extensive seafood section. There is also a Mexican deli section with all sorts of goodies. There was a very happy vibe. This is a huge Mercado that took over a Save Mart (I think) they even gave a self check out section, which I love. I needed some assistance and the employee was just wonderful. I felt welcomed and well attended to. Loved the suggestion to this market from my incredible contractor Scottie! Awesome

El Super, you're exactly what was needed in Reno. A large vibrant Latino market offering a Carneceria, tortilleria, panaderia, and dairy counter to get fresh queso, crema, salsa, and so much more, all within a grocery store. They even have a ready to eat deli/kitchen to order food to eat there or to go! The produce is fresh, the grocery options are vast , and the store feels clean and organized. We had to purchase El Supers branded tortillas (they're fresh) so we got a pack of flour and corn. It's gonna be difficult to purchase any other large brand tortillas after eating theirs. Buy the tortillas! Patrons beware. It's a busy store so you're gonna have to expect a crowd, especially on weekends and between 4pm-7pm daily. My only grip is the shopping center parking lot. It's always been terrible and I don't see that ever change.

Hey this store is huge. This was my first time here and it's really popular. They have all kinds of different items inside. It's a grocery store/ bakery/ restaurant / meat market. This place looks really nice inside. I really enjoyed the tamale station. It was the best! We did self check out. And there was alot of people in line. The wait was not long though. Also the signs are in English and Spanish. I thought that was cute! I am practicing Spanish so I found this really helpful. I recommend checking this place out. It's a must try. Too many goodies to see in one trip. I'll be back soon.

This is a wonderful addition to Reno and a great use of space. They have everything you could need to make an amazing Mexican meal. I loved the fresh tortillas, deserts, butcher counter, tamales and more. I didn't love the food at the restaurant Pepe's kitchen, but the store itself is great!

Well, my friends were right! 1 month ago they were here and enjoyed the Chile Rellenos in Pepe's Kitchen and suggested I check out the size of this Mercado. They raved about how large it was and that it had everything! Upon Entering it's impressive by how bright, clean and modern it is. It's really a beautiful Market. This once tired old Sac ' n ' Save building has new life now. It's large offering a Carneceria, Tortilleria Panaderia, and a counter with fresh cheese, crema, salsa and much more all within this large grocery store. I noticed the aisle of lots of Mexican beers as well , oh and Tequilas. I forgot to mention the fresh Fish market too. Right as you enter there are six pots of different varieties of tamales, including the unusual Pineapple and Strawberry versions.. There is so much here ... it's ,Overwhelming! If you're out to make an authentic Latin Meal, then this is The place to come. I am a fan and will return. Today I came just to look, but I guarantee I won't be going anywhere else when I prepare my next Mexican dinner at home. And I'll be sure to try out Pepe's Kitchen and post a review for them too. I'm thrilled to have such an exciting and beautiful store that carries everything to make a great Latin meal. I can hardly wait..

I am very happy to have this new supermarket in our area! We spent about two hours going through everything! It was clean and everything looked fresh! The restaurant inside had some pretty good food! I didn't give it a five because the only disappointment was they didn't have much variety in coffee! I normally love trying all the different coffees. Also, their bakery had very minimal selection of sweet bread/ pan dulce. Otherwise it was pretty good. I will definitely make it part of my rotation in grocery stores I love to shop at!

Real nice grocery store. They have everything for mexican cooking and more. Lots of items on the shelves and plenty of staff they even have security guards at the door. Prices seem reasonable and parking was plentiful. Check it out.

This store is not for the anxious at heart (at least not in peak shopping times) but if you're cool as a cucumber in the face of utter chaos, this store is a pretty great haven of all things Latino. Hot food, tamales, fresh pan, great produce prices (make sure you check what's on special in the mailers) and everything in between. I found the prices to be really hit or really miss, but the bread selection was so sad compared to visits at other stores out of state. No conchas?? The checkout lines were a cluster in terms of organization but at least they moved quickly. In short, I'm not gonna make a drive out of my way for one thing, but if it's time to stock up on produce or I'm in need of specific ingredients for Xmas pozole, you'll find me at El Super!

Lychee, beef tamales, cheese tamales, fresh made salsa. Apple torte.

Really, I think there was a hidden agenda encouraging me to go, because he knew I'd buy something, which would mean another home cooked meal! I entered on the side of the building, and there were instructions to ring the bell for help. There was a room that had a small cold case. I already knew what I was going to get and it was in the case. Some beef bones and a packet of Korean ribs. I asked if they had bacon, but not at the time. The bacon has been requested a lot, and they purchase the pig from a third party, so she just said to call before coming down. The bones are big for my dogs, but I will see next time if they can cut them in half. I'll definitely be back when they have bacon.

Aside the obvious lineup of meats, there are variety of sausages. Great looking steaks. Fresh chickens. Our meat budget at our regular supermarket has since shrunk, because we now make a separate trip here. What's really great about this place, on top of the choices and quality, is the people. Everyone is very attentive, helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. Last week I wanted to splurge on some wagyu, and I of course had to ask what the best way to cook was. I'm sure everyone who bought wagyu ask this question. The guy was super kind and patient to give me all the tips on how he'd do it. I'm not very confident about cooking meat -- it's always been my husband's thing. But now I know where to go, who to ask, and all that. Wagyu was, by the way, amazing. This place is a local gem.

When it comes to butcher shops in the greater Reno area, "Butcher Boy Meat Market" has ranked at…read morethe top spot for decades. This family owned-and-operated business has been around since 1974 with origins that date as far back as the early-1930s. And after all of these years, I had come to this place for the first time on 7/3/2026. Located on W. Plumb Ln and tucked in between S. Arlington Ave and Plumas St., this place is in a quiet strip mall bordered by a Starbucks and other small businesses. Upon entry, you are immediately drawn by the aroma of so many excellent meats coming from all directions. Considering this was a day before the 4th of July, this place was packed with customers. The selections here are vast as they offer just about every part of the cow imaginable; everything from chuck roast, ribs, sirloin, brisket, flank, and much more. And they carry a ton of choices in seasoned tri-tip and ground beef to choose from. Additionally, you can find a vast amount of pork, chicken, lamb, and a ton of house-made sausages. In addition to the huge assortment of quality meats here, this place has an enormous amount of marinades, dry rubs, sauces, and a large freezer case that offers a ton of frozen options. I will say that this place is a bit more expensive than one of my other favorite butcher shops in Reno, "Blue Ribbon". For example, a cut of sirloin steak at Blue Ribbon is around $13/lb while Butcher Boy is priced at $19/lb. However, when making these comparisons, you have to factor in the meat curing preservation and how these animals were handled prior to being slaughtered. It is a whole process that can get quite scientific. After it was all said and done, I purchased some jalapeño bacon, bone-in pork chops, and some ground chuck. After taking this home and eventually grilling/cooking everything, I was quite impressed with the overall flavor that these meats offer. Especially with how tender and juicy everything came out. My favorite was the bacon as this really hit the spot for my 4th of July breakfast. All in all, "Butcher Boy Meat Market" is an excellent (yet pricey) butcher shop. Keep in mind that they are closed Sunday/Monday but open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-7pm. With above average service and a huge variety of quality meats, I am giving them a respectable four-star rating.

Established in 1946 during the post-WWII/baby boomer era, this wildly popular butcher shop is one of the top picks for quality meats in Northern Nevada. Located directly on Prater Way and adjacent to 15th Ave in Sparks, they are nestled in between a 7-11 and Scoopers Drive-In. Parking is quite easy to find as they have a dedicated lot directly outside of the business. Furthermore, they have a very cool mural that showcases a pig, chicken, and cow which are all the types of meats this place sells. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 6/20/2026 at around 4:15pm. Keep in mind that they are closed for business on Sunday/Monday but are open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-6pm. Upon entry, there were quite a few customers but just about everyone was being serviced in a timely manner. Before we get to the meat, this place has a ton of seasonings, dry rubs, marinades, sauces, and a small amount of produce. Additionally, they also have a pre-packaged refrigerated & freezer section where you can purchase quantities of their meats/seafood as well as cold cuts and bottled beverages. However, the real winner is there display case as they offer a ton of beef items. This includes short ribs, chuck wagon, carne asada, tri-tip, and all very popular steaks. They carry a nice variety of pork, lamb, elk, venison, chicken, liver, veal, bacon, and sausage. Since I came prepared with an Igloo cooler (and still had a 2-hour drive home), I purchased their sirloin steak, ribeye steak, bacon burgers, and Hawaiian sausage links. Since I already cooked the sausage (the following day) for breakfast and sirloin steak for dinner, I will say that this place absolutely hits the spot and is arguably much better than Safeway, Raley's, & Save Mart. There's a reason why "Blue Ribbon Meat & Butcher Shop" has been around since the mid-1940s and that's because they are a quality old school butcher shop with very competitive prices (even with the huge price hikes in beef), excellent customer service, and delicious mouth-watering meats. The gentleman that helped me was very polite while their inventory display case was filled to capacity; even during the late afternoon on a Saturday. So if you're into family owned-and-operated butchers shops like myself, you can't go wrong checking this place out. With that said and done, I am giving this place a perfect five stars.

I was able to support 5 local businesses by ordering this appetizer! I will order from Hosted again! And don't forget, they cater events as well!

It was super easy to place my order and make necessary changes before the delivery date. They were able to accommodate all my food allergies and the delivery process was seamless. The board itself was GORGEOUS. There were so many thoughtful little touches and the contents curated all worked so well together. It was perfect for our two person road trip and lasted into the next day. Hosted would definitely be my first choice for ordering a charcuterie board in the future. It made my life a lot easier not having to make it myself.
